Reserved car westland online for noon sat to noon sun with no reference that they close at noon, they called me at 9 am to tell me they close at noon so please come in sooner.Was given 2 options for payment.They would not accept the credit card due to it being chime account.They would not debit card due to credit score. (around 600).
No truck for my rental appt, everyone was kinda and apologetic though.
They confirmed a car for us through an confirmation email and a phone call, and didnt have a car available for us and other 3 costumers waiting at the location.

The manager is very unprofessional we had a reservation for today we just got married trying to go on our honeymoon and because my license didn’t match my credit card because of covid not being able to get in to change it the manager wouldn’t let me rent the car horrible customer service.

Zero stars. Absolutely horrible costumer service and a complete blatant disregard for the safety of their vehicles and the paying costumers driving them . My boyfriend and I rented a 10 ft truck to drive to Florida 1,500 miles. When we went out to look at the truck it was a complete mess. There was dents and marks all around the car (driver side door was completely smashed and not closing right, clearly was in an accident prior to our rental and was not fixed correctly). The tires were almost bald and dry rotted. we expressed our concerns about the safety of driving this vehicle across the country and rick assured us it passed all their “specs”. Not once did he offer to provide us with another truck or to inspect it further. Considering we’re not car people we stupidly trusted his word. About halfway to Florida while it’s raining my boyfriend notices the driver door is leaking. Clearly from the accident that wasn’t correct fixed prior to our rental. Then as he’s driving he notices that the truck is getting significantly more rough driving and that it’s hard to steer and feels like it’s shaking. We pull off to inspect the truck and there’s a filet in the tire and the tire is about to fall off. Thank god we trusted our gut and pulled over. We then called budget tire and informed Rick of the current situation and his response was less than helpful. He completely blew off the severity of the situation with a blatant disregard for our safety responding “well things happen and the truck passed our specs, you’ll have to take it up with customer service”. We paid for the extra budget insurance but there’s a 500$ deductible before it covers anything. Basically telling us there’s absolutely nothing they can do. We got the tire fixed to get back on the road safely but it’s imperative that budget accepts responsibility for the situation and refunds us for at least the money we spent on the new tire. There was absolutely no incidents, pot holes hit, or poor driving on our part while we were driving to contribute to this incident. And tires don’t dry rot in 3 days. I hope they make this right or else I will be taking this matter as high up on the ladder as I can go to get the situation resolved. And if you’re thinking about renting a truck from the budget in westland that you seriously reconsider. Especially if you’re planning on driving it for long distances.

When I talked to him I told him I needed to know everything I needed to do or bring when I get down there to get this car I called today too confirm a reservation talking about if I use a debit card I need a credit score of 650.. Im at 647. I went to enterprise

This 1 star rating is GENEROUS.If you are looking for quality vehicles and service, this is NOT the place.Rented a full size suv online TWO WEEKS prior to my trip, called the office ONE WEEK prior to pick up to ensure details were correct and upon my arrival, not only did I have to wait 30 minutes into my reservation to even be acknowled by the staff, it took them an hour after my alleged pick up time to inform me that the suv I “reserved” was unavailable.Rick was doing his best working alone for the most part with a busy location and attempted to accommodate with a price adjustment on a smaller car if no similar SUV’s were returned later that day.When I returned there were even less cars. I was informed by a different staff member that I would have to pay the full size suv price for a standard suv and I could “probably call customer service afterwards and see what they can do.” The desk clerk was rude, unprofessional, inconsiderate and lacked general customer service experience for the client facing role.I will not be patronizing this establishment again.

You better use someone else for the will slap you with late fee even if it was there mistake. My insurance company advised me to book with a different company but I booked with them but never again. I called the customer service number and they were not helpful. I’m writing a review now and I’ll follow up with the BBB regarding my complaint.
I wish that I could give Zero stars. I made a reservation 2 days before my trip and we were told that, that was more than enough time they open at 8 am, which is another reason I chose this place. I was contacted the morning of my trip to be told that they had NO CARS, and that I would POSSIBLY get a car at 9 am, but definitely by 10am. Which was HORRIBLE for me because I would be extremely late. No other places in the surrounding area had cars either, including other budgets, So I was in a bit of a mess. I was told I would be contacted as soon as A car was returned. I called back at 9am. NOTHING, he had to investigate while I was on the phone. And said Surely at 10. Here we are... more than 24 hours later and No one has called. Thank God another place had a cancellation.
DO NOT RESERVE OR PREPAY AT THIS LOCATION!!!!! I called them on Friday to make sure they would have a full size vehicle for me at 9am on Monday. The rep said SURREEE we will have something available. I went online and paid for my the vehicle. Monday at 8:30am I get a call saying they dont have any vehicles at this time...WTF do you mean. I called the 1-800 number and they are very nonchalant, dont want to accommodate me or cover the cost if the other location was more expensive. I cancelled my reservation and went to Enterprise around the corner. This location DO NOT HONOR ONLINE RESERVATIONS. If you like excellent customer service, WESTLAND BUDGET aint the place for you...PLEASE RUN🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️
When i picked up the guy was not knowledgeable didnt know anything and I asked what if I need another day he said just keep it and they will charge you for one more day then when i did and turned it in i was charged late fees and nobody could do Anything or seemed like they cared the guy I picked up from didnt know what he was talking about! Wasnt worth the little bit I ended up saving!
Trust the one stars, they actually deserve less. These people will overcharge you in the end, and after they charge you and have the sale, their whole demeanor will change. Its very bad business, so bad that I felt the need to take the time and write this review. Because I for sure am not getting my money back. Be warned. Jason and Rick are names to watch out for, very racist and unprofessional.

Go use enterprise car rental in wayne on Michigan Avenue west of venoy. Its 2 miles away and no hastle. Comparable price great customer service dont so business with budget. We had to make a claim withbour bank to process a return. Horrible business!My husband and I tried renting a car. He paid for the car in advance and when we went to pick it up they refused to give him the car because his address was different on his license than his bank card as we had recently moved. They refused to work with us to rent the car and made us call to cancel the reservation. They said the refund would take 3-5 days. So no car and they are keeping our money for 5 days. They refused to do anything to help us in anyway.

The staff was incredibly friendly, the whole process was simple, and I believe we got an upgrade since they were out of economy cars. Location-wise, its not close enough to get picked up from the airport, unfortunately, but its close enough that you can get a cab or an über relatively inexpensively.Word to the wise: book your cars through Costco. Way cheaper, way better deals (free second driver, free day, etc.), and totally pays for the cost of a Costco membership in no time. But enough about Costco - Budget is quite reliable and trustworthy, and this location was great to deal with.
This location sucks! I spent $30 on Uber to get here and the system denied my credit card even though I have LOTS of credit available and rent cars frequently. Guy working refused to run it a second time. I wasnt the only customer that got screwed over. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION!

If there was a way to give a negative star, this business would have received 5 negative stars. Prepaid reservations are not honored! Full information is not disclosed on their rental agreement online BEFORE you pay. After you pay there are a great number of disclosures and extra stipulations. Attempting to rent a car at this location was one of worst experiences of my life. I was forced to find another rental company on a Saturday. I will NEVER even consider using Budget rental car again. I suggest that if you are considering renting a car you find a different company.
If I could I would give a negative rating...we returned the truck on the correct date and was told we couldnt get our cash deposit until the next day when the owner brings in cash. Ok, if I bring the truck back tomorrow morning Im charged another fee? They breech the contract the moment they cant give me my cash deposit! Please correct me if Im wrong!

I had reserved a car because I needed to go to Ohio for work induction this week, they told us to pick it up at 7(which they would have been closed) so we showed up at 6:30, and the manager(didnt get his name) said they didnt have any cars. YET we RESERVED a car. We called customer service together, and they said it would be the guy at the counters fault for not updating their system. He didnt say a single word, and Im not kidding when I say thanks to this guy, I no longer have a job because he couldnt do his job right. On top of that, there was a lady who did the exact same thing, and when it turned 7 he made her stand outside.. it below freezing last night. Im sure upon this review and many others, you can see how good the service is here.
If you use a debit card, they do a credit check for 700 or better.
DO NOT rent from this place. They screwed my wife and kids over for their summer vacation camping trip. We will never come back to this place. I’ve made sure to inform everyone on social media not to come here. I saved a friend a hassle today he was going to go here. Before you say “sorry for the inconvenience” tell that to my 6 year old balling her eyes out when my wife had to explain to her the trip we already paid for she wasn’t going to be able to go.

I will never rent a truck or a car from Budget Truck Rental again. I rented a truck in Michigan to move to Las Vegas and during the trip the truck broke down with me and my kid’s and we was left stranded for three hour’s. I had to pay out of pocket for towing because I wasn’t able to get in contact with 24 hr road side assistance and now they refuse to give me my refund for the tow and a partial refund for the rental... It was a horrible experience so I will tell everyone do not rent from budget
The truck I used was faulty and now Im to blame. I am on camera at the gas station just around the corner attempting to put gas in the tank. I did succeed in putting just over $40 of gas in the tank before it stopped and wouldnt let me fill any more. The tank gauge says 1/2 at this point. I attempted to do so for about 15 minutes before returning the truck. Now Im being charged the difference even after explaining this to the Manager. I also was not called back after I was told that the manager would call me back during business hours to discuss the truck and what would happen... they just charged my account without notifying me of a change.If you have a faulty truck... dont rent it out. Simple as that.Poor customer service.Uhaul is not that far from this location.

This location is short on friendliness or caring. Because we choose to use my credit card instead of the person who had set up the rental was charged an additional $13/day. We had the vehicle for a week when we returned it saw an additional 315.25 dollar charge! When asked what was up, after all we filled the gas tank and even washed and vachummed the thing. We were told it was a charge for milage! .25/per mile over a mile limit that no one ever told us about nor was it on the agreement of how many miles before we would be charged! I told them no one told us that we were going to be charge for mileage, the same guy who had been there when we rented the vehicle just looked at us, he didnt apologize for not mentioning it or anything. He just stared.When I said that I wanted something taken off the bill for all the mess-ups we kept having they said they couldnt do anything that we would have to talk to the billing department. So I called the billing department and the billing department pretty much said you singed the agentement so they wouldnt do anything. And after I told them I had paper work stating how much I was supposed to be charged and they want me to send in the stuff and bucause I wanted to talk to someone above the supervisor I am now waiting for someones superior to call me back so I can see what can be done. I see little chance of that happening. I have never heard of a car rental place charging mileage. I have used enterprise and unlimted mileage is always included. I will never ever in my wildest dreams use a Budget Car Rental to rent a vehicle again, let alone this location. Save yourself some agrivaion and use some other company.
