I have been going here for both of my children for almost a decade now. They are always exceptional. Facility is always clean and everyone is very courteous. I usually see Dr. Shannon and I love how he handles the difficult/painful procedures my child has had to endure. He explains everything in a way they understand without scaring them. My childrens teeth are in good hands. All around amazing. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience! Our 4yr old actually really enjoyed the visit! The staff took the time with her and made her comfortable and at ease with each step! She was terrified during a previous visit at a different location so it was so heartwarming to see her actually smile and laugh during the appointment. My sons appointment went well today. Kristen did Owen’s dental cleaning. She was very kind and friendly to him. He enjoyed his visit, and liked to see his X rays. Dr. Capalbo and her staff are absolutely amazing. My son Michael has autism and is basically non-verbal. He is about to be 12 yrs old and she is the only dentist he has ever had. We moved to Connecticut but it is still absolutely worth the drive to Westerly. She always makes my son feel comfortable and keeps it fun whether shes just talking to him or even singing him songs. We are truly grateful for her and her team. She is a miracle worker.

She is a fantastic dentist; so knowledgeable but never judgmental. She is a rockstar with the little ones and makes them feel comfortable, a part of the process, brave, and even excited to be there (it also helps that she is reassuring to the parent(s)). My little one breezed through her filling without a fear or a peep, to my utter amazement, and I have Dr. Anna to thank for that. My daughter had some worries but these were easily washed away with a factual but kid friendly explanation and a fun game that kept her mind occupied while she got her sealant. The male dentist here is always very nice and helpful and the hygienist has always been superb! My kids like it and I would recommend them to others.

Dr. Capalbo took such time and care in explaining everything to my husband and I. Their staff even occupied my daughter so we could get a minute alone to discuss specifics. All of our questions were answered and I never felt rushed! While Im naturally anxious about my daughters dental health, I feel comforted and confident knowing she will be in good hands.

We have been going to Dr. Shannon for 17 years. He is a delight to work with as is his staff. They love working with kids and put their young patients at ease by actually forming a relationship with them. My son is to old to go to Dr. Shannon anymore but Dr. Shannon still asks how he is doing in college, etc. I wish I could go here:)

First trip to the dentist was a huge success thanks to the staff and Doctor Shannon! I fully expected to have to encourage and bribe my son to have his teeth cleaned but my shy and strong willed son was immediately comfortable and surprisingly cooperative (he is 3) thanks to the skill and patience of our dental hygienist, Kim. She showed him every tool she was going to use and offered for him to touch and explore the tool, which he did several times with each of the tools. I was not sure how he was going to respond to keeping his mouth open because brushing teeth can be a nightly battle but Kim’s warm and friendly approach really made this whole experience a huge success for both my son and me. We both left with smiles on our faces instead of the tears I had imagined because I had envisioned it to be a battle of the wills because, you know, expecting a toddler to cooperate on any day is a gamble but these folks really know how to do their jobs! Doctor Shannon was also warm and friendly and took the time to explain to me what he had observed along with his recommendations. Wonderful experience, my son can’t wait to go back for his next cleaning!

I have three small children and taking my third to his first dentist appointment, I knew to expect the normal crying, screaming, and resistance that I met with my older two. The visit went entirely different though and I am baffled at how calm my child was during his visit. Not once did the staff rush us. Instead they have stimulating activities while you wait. Once you are in the room, they again allowed my child to look around and get used to being in a brand new place. Im so impressed with this office and staff! They were wonderful and made my sons first experience to the dentist a pleasant experience!

Amazing professionals, and work incredibly well with young children. My daughter had to have extensive cavity repair done at a very young age, and Dr. Capalbo achieved amazing results, with an incredibly gentle manner.

Like many doctors offices these days the office staff is seriously subpar and makes working with this practice difficult and in our case costly. Dr. Capalbo is a good child dentist but needs better front office staff. Our children have gone there since nearly birth when she performed surgery to correct a tongue tie. We are diligent, detail oriented consumers and when our insurance changed we called to ensure we would be in network and covered. The staff ensured us. They were wrong. Now we are facing a $288 bill for basic annual cleaning and they will do nothing to correct their error.

Amazing and patient staff even for wiggly excited little boys.When my son had to have two teeth pulled (who absolutely hates shots/needles) I was very nervous how the appointment would go. They were so skilled and covert about the Novocaine he never even noticed the shot. He was calm and relaxed the entire time and thrilled to have two teeth for the tooth fairy.The kids love to go there because its such a warm and welcoming environment.

I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a kids dentist. I came in as an emergency with my 5 year old that got hurt at the park and the staff was amazing. They handled my situation very well. My son ended up needing three teeth extractions and they made the process as easy and less scary as they possible could for both him and me!

Our experience with Childrens Dentistry of Westerly was extremely positive all around. The atmosphere of the waiting room is inviting and child centered. The dental assistants/hygienists are phenomenal at alleviating childrens fears or concerns about their dental visit. They explain each process and tool used as they are cleaning and examining. They even demonstrate the feel of the tool on the childs hand before using it. And Dr. Capalbo is amazing. She is friendly to the adult and the child, calming, thorough, and skilled. Not much more could you ask for in a dental clinic!

Weve been going to see Dr. Capalbo for about two years now. I am always blown away by how kind the entire staff is. I feel like dentist and doctor visits can go remarkably well or spectacularly terrible for kids, and I have definitely experienced both outcomes with my kids. But they are always well behaved at this dentist, and I really think its because of the way the hygienists and dentists approach them, talk to them and even make the whole experience into a fun game.My 2 year old fell and broke a tooth a year ago, and Dr. Shannon was able to help reassure me after hours that she was going to be fine, and even fit us in for an emergency appt the next day to have her checked out. I was very grateful.We went for a checkup today and my 5 year old, who historically has behaved absolutely awful at most appts, said to me I wish I could go back to the dentist tomorrow! And the next day and the next day!

This visit was intense as my son needed his tooth removed...hea only 8...the dentist is absolutely amazing!!! He pulled my sons tooth out on les than a minute! Also was very underastding as my son was very upset and scared...but overall his pain is now gone and i coukd not be More pleased...my sons mouth is in amazing hands!!! Thank you for your patience and understanding....im happy my son has an amazing dentist!!!

Fantastic office! My 9 year old son has has high anxiety due to the previous 2 pediatric dentist he has been to; this office and staff put him at ease, made him feel comfortable and willing to come back again! He has really taken initiative with his brushing and flossing daily as well with their incentive program to get a prize. highly recommend! My 4 year old even cried when we were leaving because she didnt want to wait for July to get her teeth cleaned! Very friendly, outgoing, funny & informative staff.

Dr. Capalbo is great! She has a friendly, gentle demeanor that puts my son at ease. My son is mildly Autistic and has difficulty with noises and other sensory issues and they have been able to do fillings and caps without trauma, mainly because of the way she can talk him through the procedures.

Kristen and Kim were wonderful with my kids! They made the appointments flow smoothly and helped my children feel comfortable! Dr. Shannon was great as always too!!

I cant say enough great things about Dr. Capalbo & Dr. Shannon, as well as their team. My family used to live closer to the Wakefield Office and now we are about an hour away. Because of this teams excellence, I will drive an hour for my sons appointments. My son has Autism, and doctors are pretty scary for him. We do have a lot of crying when we go in for our appointments. This team is so patient with him. There is no rush. They tell him silly jokes that make him laugh and try to get him to think of other things. We went yesterday and after leaving, he said he had so much fun and wanted to come back today. My son has been going to Dr. Capalbo since he was 4. He had so much work that needed to be done. I thought he would never go to another dentist because he was traumatized. Low and behold, Dr. Capalbo worked her magic! She is so gentle, always talks to the kids the whole time. You can tell she lives her job and children. I cant thank her enough.
