Actually the service crew which has plenty of reasons to be grumpy is cheerful, witty, personal, people oriented, ie good team! course they should have replaced the belt on my legacy honda first time around without questioning. oh well. but they fixed it without a labour charge second time around. without even discussing. i shall return there. if i have to!
They offer a service center, a parts center and eqiupment sales. Pete is in the Sales dept. Great guy to work with. He follows up in a timely manner and makes you feel like he really appreciates your business.I like the one stop for 3 services. Parts people are personable and efficient.I had my hedge trimmers worked on and they were pretty fast in the service dept.
You can’t find good service or good mechanics especially not here. Everyone is a salesman. I decided to bring in a brand new Timemaster that I was having trouble to keep running. To make a long story short. The guy who I spoke to was miserable. He told me it would cost $160 -180, so I said fine. Then some girl who knows absolutely nothing except for it’s going to actually cost $240-245. I’m sure for things that a brand new machine doesn’t need. I just decided to pic it up and fix it myself after they charged me a $63 diagnostic fee for nothing. I will never buy anything from this miserable place every again.
Just remember if your lawn mower worth less than 500, it’s not worth going here. I took my lawn mower as it does not start not being used for 2 years . I bought it for 350usd 5 yrs back in Lowe’s. Boston lawn mowers charged me for 2 plus hour of man hours costs 250 (125 /hr), and parts worth 30 usd . It’s like nearing 300USD . If I pay 50 more I can get new one . They will not call you with estimates. They just fix it and grab money . Gods grace they did not work for 3 to 4 hrs, where I have to pay 375 of 500 usd, 125/hr labor charges. I definitely might have left the lawnmower with them for free.If your lawnmower worth couple grand, you can get it repaired as you can afford their few hours labor charges like few hundreds. 😁
They were able to get me all the tools I needed within a couple hours of calling them. That is far better than anything I could hope for from box stores. Great people, great prices, great product selection. What more do you need? This is why buying local is better than supporting corporations who only care about sales. Also, I was recommended by City Power Equipment, whom are equally benevolent as BLC.
My chainsaw locked up after lending it to a friend. the team @ Boston Lawnmower spent 5 or 6 minutes diagnosing the issue and were able to fix it in that same time. The team has been excellent from the initial purchase a few years ago, to another service - and this most recent help. Highly recommend them over the large Home Improvement stores where no employees are anywhere to be found.
Always have what you need and if not they can get it. Look in my opinion its not worth buying lawnmowers from the big box stores. Theres just no comparison in quality to this place. Service and sales are still important to some people still and this is the place. Great job!
Knowledgeable staff great product lines. Parts department great if needing a part make sure you have sn#, model#, all numbers on machine plate or sticker parts different on same models. I strongly recommend this place again.
We went in to buy a snow blower and knew what dementions would work and nothing else. Peter F was very friendly and explained pros and cons of the different blowers in our price range. He gave us a demo on how to operate because we had no idea, and even showed us where and how to maintain everything we would need. I highly recommend this place
I have used Boston Lawnmower for the last 2 years. I have been really pleased in general, but recently had an experience that has me looking for a different place to purchase and service my lawn equipment.I have purchased a zero-turn mower, snowblower, and trimmer from them, also using them for service or each of these. I recently scheduled a service multiple weeks ago, called last week to confirm, and after a no-show to pick up yesterday received very poor service on the phone. It was very clear that they are too busy to handle additional business or treat customers correctly, so I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.
Best place to buy power equipment. I made a phone call talked with Tylor for 5 min. he understood what I was looking for I went to store after the phine cal was their 15minutes and had my deal done on new rider. I have all my power equipment from them.
A good resource for large ticket items use as snowblowers, and allied services/parts. But, they add no value to small ticket items such as chainsaws; their near-useless user training played a big part in a voided warranty and an expensive lesson for me. Kagan and the Parts Department are the bright lights in this company; the sales staff not so much.
Excellent people. Knowledgeable and ready to answer any and all of my questions regarding power equipment. I have done business with the folks at the Westborough, MA location for years. Highly recommended.
Came here to buy a snowblower had very good experience and bought a nice snowblower great customer service
The parts department here is fantastic! They always have what Im looking for in stock and open on Sundays too 👍👍👍👍
I went for a replacement part fir my snow blower. They found it for me even though I had no precise description.
If youre looking for a mower, blower, or any yard machine come here first. Excellent customer service, amazing service from sales to manager and staff.
Have bought multiple pieces of equipment from them doesn’t make a difference to them. Dealer doesn’t support there product. Bought multiple weed whacker s from them they both stopped running 2 months into owning. They don’t back there products. Highest prices around as well.
Fabulous service. I’m a homeowner, not a commercial user. I’ve have bought a commercial 48” mower as well as a few other OPE items from them because of their professionalism, but am writing this review for yet another outstanding experience. I had an”emergency” service done on my 15 year old mower early summer, and it died last week. They picked up the next day, repaired, and returned in a couple days at no cost to me. The symptoms were similar and I expected to have some cost, was hoping they’d waive the pickup fee, but they really stepped up and did not charge me a dime! Service and attitude like this is noteworthy! Keep it up team Boston Lawnmower!!!
If youre looking for a place that sells high quality lawn and garden equipment, Boston lawnmower is for you. Theyre prices arent low but theyre fair. Nice showroom with lots to pick from. You get what you pay for here. Salespeople know their stuff and its not a high pressure sell. Been buying from them for years and never been disappointed. Their service department is exceptional and thorough though sometimes they have really long lead times. One time they even fixed (for no charge) the bicycle squeeze horn mount on my tractor. Highly recommend.
Great service and great staff.. Rick my salesman was extremely helpful in helping me buy my new gravely zero turn mower. Received my mower today. Delivery was great and on time. Highly recommend Boston lawn mower
Best Place around for Power Equipment
They were great as always. I like going there.
Always helpful, they carry most major brands and have all of the parts I usually need in stock.
Great, pleasant customer care
I went to Boston Lawnmower having never owned a snowblower before. I had done some research online of a bunch of different makes and models. I spoke with one of the employees, Peter, who was very friendly, helpful and when I asked about different models he didn’t just try to sell me on a more expensive model. It was very busy and he took the time to talk about each model and the pros and cons of each. The price was reasonable and I was in and out in 15 minutes even though it was very busy. They delivered my snowblower 2 weeks later and were nothing but informative, on time and friendly. If I ever need any other power equipment I’ll be going here to buy it.
Awesome sales and incredible service, did an upgrade on my Honda snowblower chute in record time ..
I had purchased an Athens Snowblower from them in 2011 and had a problem in that the discharge shoot wouldnt lock in place. I suspected one of the parts involved had broken and hoped to fix it myself. The Parts and Service Department staff were extremely helpful. They advised me what parts were at fault and how to install them which I was able to successfully do thanks to their advise.
Had a snow thrower that was only 3 years old that was occasionally stalling . After several attempts to have it repaired Pete and his team did a great job in ultimately finding the intermittent problem. I would absolutely recommend them to others. They stayed after it until I was completely satisfied.
Called in the beginning of November about my exmark 30 that has some problems. I said I would bring it in at the end of my season being beginning of December to middle at the latest. Was told ok not a problem. Went there today and they now say no lawn equipment until mid to late March. Took me 45 min to go there for nothing now. As I was talking with the service guy Ron who has an attitude problem another person walked in to drop off there hedge pruner without a problem. Never going here again and would never suggest it. However I do see how it makes sense that a hedge will need pruning between now and March, that is definitely top priority.
Customer service associate arrogant and very rude, only knows whats in idiots guide parts book and has zero product knowledge when given all the information needed to provide service.Service manager also useless, and wanted to argue with me about a product that he isnt even familiar with, proceeded to tell me what I should buy when I wasnt asking his opinion. I went in for a particular item because I like the way it performs. Was also looking at updating a fleet of Pro line saws for business and wouldnt do business here if they were free.Maybe good for consumers who have no knowledge but anyone who actually knows what they are talking about. Never again.
Great service! They looked at my leaf blower right away and fixed it right then and there! Ill be back to buy a snow blower and a zero turn in the spring. Thanks for being so friendly and helpful!
Went for a new bar and chain for a chainsaw. Parts guy gave me two different sizes and I didnt realize until I got home and tried to put it together.
Great staff. Helpful and the service was fast
Good deal on snowblower with good service and parts in stock
Great service and good selection. I was able to pick up my snowblower a three days early, before a big storm. Good run down of the machine, very knowledgeable staff.
Called in asking for a part, drove there tbe following day and got it. Very fast service!
Ordered a belt and they charge $40.00. Everywhere else it was $20.00. Plus the people were rude on top of it. Theres too many good places to go. This was my 2nd bad experience
Bought our Push Mower and Weed-whacker here. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Will sharp blades at a reasonable price and the equipment works great.
I switched to buying from them and using them for service on all my teams equipment after a competitor dropped a ball. They have been great. Friendly, on time service. Have used them for a couple of years and will continue to do so. Sometimes customer service is mediocre.
Good stuff
Best place for all your yard equipment. Parts department top notch with expert advice
Very knowledgeable....helped me select the perfect lawnmower.
Very unhelpful! I gave him the part number off the part for a Briggs & Stratton and he was unable to look it up. It’s like if I didn’t spell it out in crayon he was unable to do anything. Very rude and I’ll never send them any business. I will be happy to share my experience with everyone I know though.
They did exactly what was promised and on schedule. Theyre friendly and helped get my mower out of my little trunk and put it back after. Efficient and clean shop.
Bought a 52 Wright Stander B The more affordable 1/2 priced Carberated Prosumer model to mow our 4+ acre property in Harvard MA.BLM is the closest dealer near us they delivered the machine within a week of ordering. After 3 months of running the machine we had an issue where the mower lost power. I changed the fule filter with an Couldnt figure it out they took the carb apart changed the fule filter and tested the unit at the shop for 30 hrs without issue. As it turns out my helper may have tilted the unit more than 45 degrees to sharpen the blades which can cause a problem with the vapor recovery system filling with fuel the ride to the shop may have fixed it or perhaps the carb was clogged and taking it apart cleaned it either way the machine works now and it cost a whole $28. In order to have it thoroughly gone through. Thats the kind of service that you dont often get theese daze!
Very helpful. Found a part for my very old machine. Are trying to find another obscure part
Great selection of lawn movers and snow blowers as they were able to put a big snowblower into my Toyota van in the middle of a snowstorm with no hassle. Overall, great service and salespeople that can assist you with your needs.
Good service, very helpful and friendly staff, excellent customer service
I purchased a very used Gravely 52 ProStance mower from a professional landscaping company for $850 for use on my very large lawn. With the help of the Boston Lawnmower team, I was able to restore this machine at a very reasonable comparatively low cost. While some of the restoration too technical for me was done at Boston Lawnmower, I did some of it myself with the help of lots of free technical advice always gladly provided by their service manager. Best thing I ever did! It used to take me 3-hrs to mow this lawn, so I would sometimes hire an expensive landscaping company to do it. Now it taking me between 1/2-hr to maybe 45-minutes...and its actually...not joking...FUN! And no more paying expensive landscaping companies anymore!
I recently purchased a walk behind lawn mower from Boston Lawnmower Company. The saleman was very helpful and seemed very knowledgeable. When I picked up my mower, the service department when through the mower with me before I left. I was pleasantly surprised to find a full tank of gas.
Best customer service around and it’s not even a question. Will buy all my stuff from them moving forward...
Great immediate service on chainsaw that wouldnt start
Friendly staff, competitive prices!
Kagan is a person who has the knowledge and expertise in the parts department.Thank you for your help!!!
I recently moved from Minneapolis to Westborough, MA. I chose a high premium mower for our new lawn and drove to Boston Lawnmower Co. tonight to buy it. As I approached the door at exactly 6:53 a gentleman pushed the sign from Open to Closed. The store closes at 7:00. I had heard that while the prices might be better at other places that the service was superior here. I will make sure to spread the word that Boston Lawnmower isnt interested in even talking to customers much less making an easy sale on a mower they had in stock. Good service? No. Big miss. I wouldnt bank on service here. The service and price was much better at Lowes this evening.
There for my first time today!! Very big supply !! Best i have seen
Great place to do business! Parts and inventory are impressive.
Good purchase experience w/ new Ariens snowblower. Good delivery on time and good review of the machine
Excellent parts department. Had everything I needed instock for older equipment. Thanks Kagan
Still Open on SUNDAYS 10-3PM and open weeknights till 7PMPolite, courteous staff no pressure sales and large service Dept.
Saved my back this weekend with a big storm coming they fixed my snow blower quickly and reasonably priced.
Good bunch of dudes and very helpful. Highly recommend
Good knowledgeable local dealer. With respect to Ariens they carry the premium lines without the cheap parts and assembly you might find at the big box stores.
I have bought two pieces if equipment here, 30 ariens snow blower and a Red Max blower. Both machines have great ratings and have been good for me. During the month of February 2015 here in Massachusetts we have been buried with snow and i have put the snow blower to the test. It had a clutch issue one day before we were about to have our second blizzard so i called Boston Lawnmower company Friday afternoon at 12:00 pm. I was told that they could not guarantee to have the unit back to me by Saturday afternoon before the storm. I got a call at about 3 on Friday telling me that they will be able to pick up the unit on Friday, but still not sure about returning on Saturday. Watching the weather I could see this will be another bad storm and I would be in need of the snowblower. Saturday afternoon at 3 I got a call that they will be able to deliver the unit that afternoon and the repair was covered by warranty. I feel that they went above and beyond to get me my unit in time and I would recommend them to anybody for their efforts to keep a customer happy.Thank you very much to the service team.
Visited place for a lawn edger belt, folks were very easy to talk to. Return of an unused part was a breeze.
Great service. They offered to help install an attachment on a weed trimmer that I purchased a few years prior. I had melted the trimmer head off the unit due to friction caused by grass getting lodged in the unit. When doing the install Boston Lawnmower subsequently discovered plastic from the trimmer head had melted into the unit and was the reason I was having an issue with the difficult install of the new trimmer head. They spent over 30 minutes fixing the unit and I fully expected to get charged for the labor-after all this turned into more than just a simple install. To my surprise - when I picked up the unit - they handed it to me and told me - no charge. Ive been several items and purchased a half dozen items including parts and have always been impressed with they customer service. Its rare to see good customer service these days and unfortunately companies are usually not recognized for it.
Great Professional Equipment and TERRIBLE customer service. For the amount of money the equipment is charged over $2.000 the customer service should be at the same level. Peter at Service department is very sarcastic and rude over the phone laughing at customers. The extended warranty I purchased starts before you take possession of equipment (over 2 weeks later). When you call to ask information they talk like theyre doing a favor and not great customer service. The ownership should REALLY consider retraining its employees to a upper level of service. This is about keeping the customers for years and what they really do is one time purchase customers. I choose to buy local to keep local business strong but this was a BIG mistake Ive made. People need to know this.
Have been pleased in all my dealings here. Girl in the parts department was very helpful in explaining how to assemble and clean a carburetor that i was having issues with. Purchased a Stihl sr45 auger and have had my Stihl sr200 serviced here. Good prices on gas/oil pre mix as well.
Dropped off snowblower for service. Friendly and helpful staff.
I chose Boston Lawnmower for my snow thrower service and it was a big mistake. I called them in September and they told me that the process would take about a month. This would have meant that I would get my machine back in October, well before the first snow fall. After several weeks of not receiving a call to schedule service I called them, they told me it would be a few more weeks. They finally called me the week before thanksgiving to schedule my pickup. They picked it up and I assumed that it would be back in a couple weeks. After a few weeks went by I called to check the status. They told me that they hadnt even looked at it yet. But that it would be looked at by the end of the week. When they finally looked at it (2 months after my origional call to them) they told me that they didnt have a part that I needed and that they would need to order it. This means that my snow thrower sat there for weeks before they even looked at it and that now the part that I needed would take an additional week to come in so they could fix the unit. I asked to speak to the manager and some toothless guy told me that he wasnt in and that he would call me back... after hours of waiting I went down to the store because I felt like I was getting the run around. By the time I got down to the store it was close to 4 pm. When I got to the store they tried to calm me down by telling me that they would order the part first thing in the morning!! WHY DIDNT YOU ORDER THE PART THAT DAY!!! WHY WASNT THE PART IN STOCK!! WHY DIDNT YOU LOOK AT MY MACHINE WHEN IT FIRST CAME IN SO YOU COULD HAVE ORDERED THE PART THEN!There was nothing I could do.... I had to take it up the rear and wait for them to actually do some work... They called me 7 days later to schedule the drop off saying that the earliest time they could deliver it was not for another 2 weeks because the truck was full!!! The guy on the other end of the phone obviously wasnt too bright and directed me to the manager. they eventually agreed that they could put it on the truck that week.During the time that my snow thrower was serviced I had to pay $200 for an emergency snow plow. Couple that with the ridiculously expensive service, I could have went to Lowes and bought a whole new machine!! All in all this place is terrible and I will be going to Robinsons from here on out!
Ive been going here to get my parts for my Ariens snowblower, I will say the staff is excellent and when the time comes to buy a new snowblower. I will be going here.
Staff was very helpful. I will visit again.
Best choice. Perfect service, full range of lawn equipment.
Absolutely terrible for the 12 years Ive been going there. Unfortunately theyre the only shop in the area so they have no competition and no reason to do their duties at 100%. Unacceptably horrible techs.
I am dealing with a snowblower that the engine manufacturer is out of business. The parts department was very helpful on helping me find parts for my snowblower and giving me drawings and advice on how to install them. With their help I was able to restore my snowblower back into function.
Good people very helpful
Great on time service
