I will NEVER have anything to do with this location. I live 2 hrs away so I thought I would call to see what I needed to make a reservation. I called for 6 hrs, called customer service for them to give me a local number to customer service to get nowhere. I get there to find out with a debit card you need 2 pieces of mail, remind you I cant just drive around the corner and get the stuff .. if they would have answered the phone I could have had my ducks in a row. Now by this time they could give me a car for $150 a day....this is all bull. Wasted a day for a car rental that I didnt even get all to come back to the city again tomorrow with a different company. Thanks for helping my move be that much easier!!!
Do not trust that you have a reservation here. I have reserved a pick-up truck here on multiple occasions and showed up only to be told that they didnt have anything for me. You can try and call beforehand to see if they have your vehicle except the phone just rings and rings and rings. I tried getting answers from Budget corporate about verifying if I would get my vehicle and was told the only way to do that was to call the store directly. Dont waist your time if you really need a certain type of vehicle.
I made a reservation in Early May 2021 (directly from the Budget website) to pick up from this location on 6/16/21. I received a confirmation email this morning where it gave me the option to do an early check in. While trying to do so, I realized that this locations store hours have changed and I was not notified. I tried calling the store directly but they did not answer the phone. I called Customer Service and was told that they dont have any other cars available and then tried to stop me from cancelling my reservation. I have rented a car from this location before and had a bad experience but was hoping this time would be better. Unfortunately, it was much worse.

The lady that was working at the one in West valley was super awesome I would definitely tell me and everybody I know if they need to rent to hit up the West valley location the lady that was running the office today was so good and took care of me and my wife could not have asked for a better experience
Absolute worst company!We will never reserve/rent a vehicle from them !We Has a Reservation for May 20th for a Ford transitI booked this vehicle a month before and they called me 1 hour before I was supposed to pick up the vehicle and told me that they didn’t have the vehicle when I had called the day before to confirm pick up of the vehicle. She gave me customer service phone number and they are also garbage, the automated system sent me to voicemail where they would get back to me in 1-2 business days ! ABSOLUTELY Ridiculous . WILL NEVER AGAIN TRUST THIS GARBAGE COMPANY.
We dropped our moving truck rental off at this location, and they were very nice so no complaint on the location itself, but I dont recommend renting from Budget Truck in general its been a horrible experience. The truck we rented we picked up in San Antonio to move to Utah. We were stuck in blizzards and freezing rain with dull wipers that were not working so we had to pay out of pocket for new wipers. Very hard to see on slick roads and felt our lives were put in danger. The registration AND insurance docs were expired in the truck. There was half eaten McDonalds and other trash in the truck hiding in the door and we didnt realize until later throughout the trip. The fire extinguisher was expired, empty, not serviced and had no pin. Upon arrival to our storage unit in Utah, we saw all our belongings soaking wet because of a leak in the roof that was not acknowledged or pointed out when we picked it up initially. We tried contacting corporate and they are only refunding a mere $82 from the almost $600 rental. There are border patrol checkpoints through New Mexico and if they were to have asked for any papers, we wouldve had a huge issue since they were expired and that wouldve been a HUGE lawsuit against Budget Truck.
When I made my reservation I asked for a Toyota Carola and when I got there I was told I got the Dodge Charger which was an upgrade. I tried to use my debit card and they said I couldnt use debit for the Charger. I had to use a credit card but I dont have a credit card. They had a Toyota at the airport and I could use debit on that but I had to show verification of my address and my insurance card with a current address. I had to contact my insurance company to fax them my policy. I had to wait 45 minutes before the Toyota came from the airport.I was not happy with not able to use debit and also the wait time to get the car I originally asked for.
My roommate and I were hitching up a trailer to our moving truck at this location and the owner looked at it and told us we should “be good to go”. The pin that holds the hitch in place hadn’t dropped and was visibly flopping around!! Luckily we didn’t listen to her and called my roommate’s father to help us, but following her advice for our 12 hour drive through mountains would have lead to the trailer coming unhitched and who knows what happening to my car on it. If you aren’t *very* confident to know what you’re doing by yourself, save yourself the car wreck.
Doesn’t deserve one star. I’ve traveled all over and this car rental agency is the worst I have used. Customer service is terrible, the employee there is not very knowledgeable. Don’t bother calling you cannot ever get a hold of anyone and the employee has to constantly “Call the manager” and will call you back, but never does. They don’t cover any contract details other than gas and insurance at the time of pickup, then will call later and charge you for things they never mentioned.I suggest sticking with Enterprise!

Luckily, I tried to call before picking up my rental and no one at the call center could find my reservation by the confirmation number that was emailed to me! I tried 3 different agents. Then I tried calling the office I was scheduled to pick up from and got no answer! Something is clearly wrong with their reservation system and I wish I read the other reviews before I booked!
We rented a Ford Expedition for a few days to take a family trip. We picked the vehicle up the day we needed to leave, we had reserved the vehicle online for one price, as soon as we get in they wouldnt let us use a credit card in my name with my husbands name being on the rental and then we were denied to use a debit card with his name on it. We were told we could only use a credit card. Switching the reservation from his name to mine made the price we expected to go up over $300. We needed the vehicle so we sucked up and took the car. As soon as we get home to load up the car, inside we find fast food wrappers and garbage all over the car, previous renters personal belongings hadnt been cleaned out, the 3rd row seating had super sticky seats, and the cup holders in the back were filled with liquid and sticky candy. We called and were told to either bring it back for them to clean or theyd offer us a discount. We really had to get on the road so we just cleaned it up ourselves and took a discount. This said discount was never honored. I was still charged the full price for a super messy, uncleaned vehicle. I will not ever come back to budget to rent any vehicle. Enterprise may be more expensive, but so worth it after this experience.
Service I received with one of the agents was amazing but when I returned to pick up my truck and trailer was a different story, nothing was ready and I had to delay my move cross country until they could get my tow dolly for the car from Ogden. They also too forever to credit me back for the difference in price. The truck was pretty dirty inside as well. We ended up wiping it down ourselves with Clorox wipes.
Terrible experience renting a moving truck. We reserved a 26 ft truck weeks in advance and received an email confirmation it was good to go. We get there and all they have is 16 ft trucks and say we have to drive to a different location 30 min away. When we asked if we could get the 16 ft at a discount we were told that this center wasnt annually a true budget truck rental place, it was a budget car rental place that facilitated budget truck rentals. We called customer service and they said to tell the center to just charge us for the 16 ft truck at 20% of which is the same discount we had when we reserved the 26ft truck. When we told the person at the center that customer service said to let us rent the truck at 20% off, she said that she couldnt because they just facilitated business. We were running really late at that point, so we just paid full price. It then took another 20-30 min to check out, making for a total of 55 min from getting there to checking out. We were late for our movers and ended up having to do way more work, and ended up paying full price for the experience.
If I could give them a 0 I would. I reserved a 16 moving truck a few days ago for my husband and I to pick up today at 2PM. We arrived early and waited 15 minutes for them to making us wait another 10 extra minutes for them to tell us that they dont have a truck for us. Even though we received a confirmation email saying our rental was ready and set. They couldnt have notified us by either email or the two telephone numbers we provided for them? Its a good thing they wait to charge you until you pick up a truck or else the -$140 would have made me blow up even more than I wanted to. Poor business model and customer service.
From my mom - I rented from Budget Utah and drove from Oklahoma with a reservation of a 16 truck and tow-dolly. I drove 2 days to pick- up the truck and dolly to get household items from storage and take back. When I arrived their tow dolly was broken and inoperable. They were not helpful and could not replace dolly but wanted to charge me over $300 for an autotransporter instead. I already spent $400 to get to Utah and now am stuck here with no way to get back and now have another month of storage payments besides no other towing available in this state for a week. All other companies are a lot higher in cost. I thought their price was good. It will end up costing me thousands more for their inability to follow through with their contract to me. Id think good, long and hard before you go with Utah Budget Rentals. You cant count on them to follow through and youd better have a lot more money in your BUDGET if you want to get back home with your vehicle and household goods Safely!
They did not have the van I reserved 3 months ago for todays date and no one contacted me. At my arrival they scrambled around and found an SUV instead. Not all that happy about it, but better than walking.

I tried calling them 2 days before my pickup date just to confirm that I would be there. I called at least 10 times in two days with no answer on their end. Because of this I decided to read the reviews. And the reviews did not disappoint. When I got there there was no car that fit the description or type of the one I had ordered. Also, there was no one there to talk to. The door was locked! I have rented from Budget at airport locations many times and have never had a problem.
Don’t try there website they say they have cars available then you show up to pick up AND THEY DONT HAVE IT ! WASTE OF TIME ! Staff is so rude they don’t even ask for your name or reservation number!! VERY RUDE STAFF !!!
Tess is one hell of a worker we walked in stressed out about so many things and summer is about to end with our kids blah blah blah and she just took those burdens off our chest!! Great customer service hands down I would recommend her anywhere! I know for sure were coming back because she did a fantastic job if she was my boss I would work for her (lol) thank you again Tess!!
If I could give 0 stars I would. I rented a moving truck and it was absolutely disgusting on the inside. There were sunflower seeds everywhere and a sticky mess throughout the whole truck. I also rented a small tow dolly for my personal vehicle and had to roll the thing across the parking lot to hook it up. There was only one employee working on a busy Saturday and I didn’t have time to request that she cleaned the truck or find me another one. So I had a 20 hour ride in someone else’s filth (which out of principle I was not going to clean up). So I called the customer service line to explain my frustration and was offered $35 off my $700 bill! So it looks like my satisfaction was worth about 5% to them. I will never be renting from Budget in any form EVER again and recommend that you look elsewhere as well.
Google please let us give zero. Made reservation online. Waited for only employee to finish washing a car to be helped. Wasnt allowed to deny rental coverage on moving truck, but nothing was mentioned online about this. Then when agreed to all the charges, the one employee couldnt print out contact to sign, so I had to wait for a new printer to arrive. All in all, I finally had a moving truck over an hour later with my girlfriend and 5 year old son waiting in the car the whole time (thank goodness for amazing weather and lunches being packed)The absolute WORST rental experience I have had to date. Avoid at all costs.

Wow! Had a reservation for 8am. Show up at 8:10. The lady starts yelling at us that they don’t have any cars that are ready like it is our fault. We had a reservation for an SUV. After an hour of them pretty much telling us we are SOL, even though we already paid, they gave us a sedan. I w ill never give them my business again!
I usually rent through Enterprise but I tried Budget this time because it was cheaperNever again, it wasnt worth the $20 savings. I reserved a mid level sedan and was given an SUV instead because they decided to sell the only sedan they had. So, right there I ended up spending more money on gas. I was forced to pay a $150 deposit because I paid with a debit card instead of a credit card. It took them 3 days after I returned the car to refund my deposit. Then once I did return the car, they tried to charge me a fee because I returned the car 2 hours EARLY. Save the headache, go to Enterprise.
This place deserves a zero star review. They didnt have a car when I arrived, and did not care. I flew in for my sisters wedding that day and they couldnt be bothered to even make calls to get a car. The woman at the front was rude and condescending. After about an hour of waiting and complaining because she wasnt helpful we finally got into a car that was filthy, but it had wheels and a steering wheel so we left. Now I find out they charged more than the agreed amount. I called Budget and they told me that this location just uses their name, but can do nothing to help because its a private location. I tried to call the location and the phone just rings. Consider yourself warned. Do NOT do business with this company.
Just like all the other reviews here. These people are not right. They never send a final bill or reason why your rental is always 3 times the amount you are quoted or even sign. I have never dealt with a more dishonest place. I will stick with renting through National and Enterprise. Hope this business plummets to earths firey core!

I reserved a truck a month before I needed it, set a time and everything, showed up and they have one VERY small truck. Then, they charged our card and said they cant give us a receipt?Custom service didnt care at all. We will not be back.
Can I say never rent from budget truck rental. They are a bunch of thieves. They tell you one price and then completely change it. They told me it would only be 43 dollars as I was just in town and had it overnight. They put a hold on my account for 150 just Incase when I rented the truck that would be lifted when I returned it. Instead they charged me the 43 dollars when I dropped it off and then proceeded to charge me the 150 the day after. Saying it was actually 193 dollars. Because it wasn’t a hold but a deposit for the truck. Never will I do business with them especially because the lady who was working the desk didn’t seem to know what she was doing.
Avoid this location at all costs. Rented a car through Expedia at 9:45 am pick up, arrive shortly after and they tell me they gave up my car to the airport. Here’s the kicker they didn’t pick up their phone when I tried calling them that I was late . There was no way to contact them and they gave up my car within 30 mins of the time to pick up without any effort to contact me. The thing I can accept is the horrible attitude and customer service I received. They basically shoved me out, said we didn’t have any info on you cause I booked through Expedia and rudely made me leave the office. I called Expedia they said this is extremely unusual. I then had to go online and search to get another car at a budget location 10 miles away, she wouldn’t even offer to help me find another car at another location. Like she said, ” not my problem “

I just want to know why exactly I was charged an airport fee of 11% for my “affiliation” with the airport? Why does it matter if I work for Delta Air Lines? This is exactly why I rented a car from budget outside of the airport, to avoid outrageous prices and yet I am charged as if I rented from the airport? First I call Murray, and am put on hold for 1 hour for them to call back and say they don’t have my vehicle. And then the west valley location pulls this? I won’t EVER rent from you guys again, and this issue needs to be fixed.

I reserved a truck online for p/u on a Sunday morning at 9:00 AM. My wife and I sat there waiting until 9:30 AM and no one showed up. We called Budget and they indicated it would take up to 2 hrs for someone to get a hold of us. We ended out going to uhaul and getting a truck there. The only reason Im giving 2 stars is because Budget refunded the money (reluctantly). Not recommended.
Worst experience Ive ever had!! I had a reservation since two weeks prior to the day and when I called to confirm they said that they didnt have a truck for me and that if I wanted to stop by and see if anyone had return a truck and is available I was more than welcome!! Lol! First of all, why would I waste my time going there to see? Why dont you take care of your fault!? And second of all, whats the freaking purpose on making a reservation before hand then? Very unprofessional! They didnt even care about letting me hanging! I freaking hate them!

DO NOT USE BUDGET! Worst experience ever! I have moved a few times with U haul and enjoyed it each time. This time I thought I saved money but then I had to get insurance that was almost $300. The lady that helped me get the truck clearly needed more training or should be let go because she had to call the manager for everything. The truck was dirty and trash everywhere. We wanted to trade to a smaller truck and we had to wait 24 hours before we could trade.
I was going to use Budget rent a car for my upcoming trip, and after making 3 reservations online and NEVER receiving an email confirmation, I tried calling this location. It was during business hours and I called 2 different times before I called the 800 number. I had made 3 reservations in 2 days, none of which were in the Budget system when I spoke to Omar, the representative. He assured me (and was very nice) that I would get an email with a confirmation for the car. Then I read the reviews, and decided to go with Enterprise (which I have used in the past) It is just across the street, so its not any farther for me to travel, and I am pretty sure they are there during their stated business hours.... Too bad Budget,,,,Its not a better deal if you cannot get service!
This place is insane. I dont understand how this company is still a running business. They dont care that you made a reservation for a truck. If a customer goes in before your pick up time, they will give it to them. You cant get a hold of a manager at all to try and resolve the issue and the ONE employee that is there cant do anything unless they talk to the manager. I have never been treated like this from a company and the next time we move out of state, I will certainly NOT use this place.
Pretty horrible. Rina there messed up on the return location we could demonstrate on our confirmation email and tried to charge us 30 dollars to correct it, refused to help us if it was one minute after close (I work somewhere I never know when I’m going home, myself. She should get over it.).
I reserved a rental car early in the week. Here it is 15 minutes past the reservation time, 45 minutes after the 8 am open time, and the door is locked. There is no answer on the number on the sign, no help from budget because its privately owned, and Im left without a vehicle. Id give it a negative 1 if I could. The only way I would consider changing is if the person that was supposed to open was involved in some crazy accident and is incapacitated. With enterprise next door just go where you know you will get service.
Made a reservation for a 7 passenger SUV. When I arrived at the location to pickup vehicle for vacation the representative gave me a 5 person SUV. Explained my reservation was for a 7 passenger SUV because ee have 7 people. He stated he doesnt have one an he isnt in charge of distribution. So obvious a reservation doesnt mean anything. I jighly recommend enterprise across the street. They rescued me with an upgrade and beat Budgets rate!

I showed up to pick up my rental truck. I was the second person to arrive. While I waited, the person in front of me was told they didnt have a truck for them (they had made a reservation two weeks in advance). Then I was told there was no truck for me (I had made the reservation a week before), then a third person with a reservation showed up. No truck.I spent and hour on the phone with someone who finally tracked a truck down in Orem.Its not just this locations problem. It is BUDGET. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN! They over charged me for miles, they didnt stick with their quote (just an estimate) and they offer no apology for their crapy service. Go with a different service.
Very disappointed. Poor quality customer service. Tried to sneak in a under 25 fee charge. Charged me for a gallon and a half in gas when gas was just barely under the “F”. Not sure where she got a gallon and a half from. Maybe they needed the extra money for cover something else who knows,But what iam sure I will not do business with this ppl again.Please check your paper agreement to see if you have a toddler driving the car!!!!

This is the first time ever using Budget, it may be my last. I am crossing my fingers everything goes well when I get there.Horrible service so far. I spoke with a supervisor in customer service, very rude.

Worst truck rental experience...EVER!! They do not answer the phone. They overcharge you due to either stupidity or under-handed business practices. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place!! I had to spend an hour on the phone with the national support center to correct their mistakes and overcharges. Yikes.

You can have a good experience renting from budget truck if you make your reservation a head of time and as they run out fast because they cost less than penske, and also. Ups sometimes these trucks during there peak season, i will always use budget. If my truck is out of order
The rental car company wouldn’t honor my reservation that I made four months ago. They tried to charge me more than 3 times the cost for one third of the original reservation. They also wanted to charge me a $2500 deposit on top of daily insurance. The customer service agent tried to help, but management refused to make any consolations.

Ive never had a bad experience with a car rental agency until I went to this agency. Everything from beginning to end went wrong, the vehicle was the only good part. I rented on Expedia, the total cost for one day was $53.93 I get to the counter the guy tells me there is a $300 deposit that they hold and then the rental amount is taken from that, I said perfect so the amount will be taken it out he says the amount is $86.90. I said no thats wrong. I show him my conformation with the total and he says no problem he will have his manager fix it Monday morning, I get my receipt this morning and guess what $86.90 was charged, I called twice no answer. I then had to go to the Salt Lake City office to have it fixed to which they still didnt charge me the $53.93 I was given by Expedia it was $55 and I was told taxes and fees are subject to change. Ive rented many cars through expedia and have never been charged a different amount then what they quoted me. Overall, a misleading horrible, non follow through experience. Which has resulted in me never trusting to rent through Budget ever again.

Rented a car went to pick up and location decides to make their own hours showed up at 240p and location hours are open till 3pm. Was on the phone with customer service for hours and just bullshit excuses.
If there were zero stars I would give them zero. Im visiting from out of state and wanted to rent a car to drive to san diego for 4-5days and was given the run around because I didnt fly in to utah. I was told I would have to show a utility bill that matches my address on my license, who travels with that information? Just unrealistic expectations and talking to customer service with their unknowledgeable behinds just sent me over the edge. I was able to reserve my car online however calling the west valley location to confirm I had everything I needed NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE THERE.. just a terrible experience all together. Glad I found a better alternative. Would never give these people my money!!

They wouldnt let me pay for it over the phone then the manager told me that I shouldnt have hired somebody to do a job for me if they didnt have enough money to rent the truck... THEY DONT INSPECT THEIR TRUCKS OR HONOR RESERVATIONS. First they gave my reservation away so when I arrived I didnt receive it. The truck they then tried to give me next had a dead battery and the one I eventually ended up with had a massive leak in the fuel hose which left me stranded when I tried to refuel 3 hours away.

Wouldnt EVER EVER book a car through this office, car was filthy, asked for a ride which was 4 miles away and they would do it.
The worst of the worst! I called 4 times with no answer. Then when I do get someone on the phone he’s an ass. So I make a reservation and when I get to get my car I’m told I need $1,500 to give them and I’ll get it back when I return the car. In 7 days I’ll get my $1,500 for a $272 car!
