I went through this program and they helped me get on my feet. For those who are serious I recommend they give it a try. Great help for medical issues too.

No child, no immediate help. Becoming homeless isnt good enough, MUST BE homeless & on the streets to just be ADDED to a list & still have to wait. Very disappointed w/ the Lewis Center options, no one WANTS to be homeless. Why cant they just verify & help. I know people lie but verifications/visits can be done.

The place I visited in here is part of the C. L. Braumbeck Clinic. The staff I saw were professional and courteous, especially Shirley White. Although assistance could not be offered to me, it was good to come in contact with a positive, uplifting person. As I drove around the complex it seems like they have other suites that offer help and food for the homeless (which is always great).

Was on the verge of being on the street. The Lewis Center helped my granddaughters and me to establish a shelter. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. Thank you

Of all shelters, I was recommended this one. Im homeless with my girlfriend and 2 kids and since we recently became residence of Florida (previously Michigan), they said we have to be residence of Florida for at least 6 months. If I havent known, I shouldve just look at other options. Right now, my family are stuck living motel to motel just to avoid getting our kids taken away. But looks like we are stuck this way for next 6+ months... I wouldve originally given 0 stars but they deserve 2 stars after they got us in a motel and extended our stay until Monday morning.-- UPDATE--Because we got 2 kids under 5 years with all of us homeless, we were placed on top of list so hopefully things will go smoothly so my family can live in 1 place for a long time.

Very unprofessional and unorganized. They get your hopes up and then turn around to kick you out. They dont do their jobs and sit/goof around. They allow certain people they favor do whatever they want and treat others as a slave tool. Just not the right/perfect place to be at. You have to do literally everything on your own. Barely any help and any meetings with your case manager. They lie and betray you, like I said make you feel you belong and then do sneaky stuff behind your back. Most of the ones that work here and live there are sneaky and rude. Watch your back when you come here and dont expect too much to be done. Oh and it takes a year to come back to that center as well. Just terrible and the people just very unrealistic.

The Lewis Center is the ONLY non denominational homeless shelter in palm beach county. And because of this they cannot accept walk-ins. You go through and assessment of questions before you are accepted and put on a waiting list for a bed. The staff is extremely accommodating and try and do everything to make you feel comfortable and part of a community. They have chores for each tenet, a living room, group with dance therapy and event to the theater. If you are looking for a nonprofit to contribute to by donation if services, my only two admitted disadvantages, ( I would never complain about the help I received for this center), but the mattresses are military grade rubber material with very little cushion that had long since deteriated-- So if it is in your power PLEASE donate mattresses! The other shortcoming, due to funding I am sure, was the cafeteria staff and supply of food. The only reason I left one star clean on my rating is based one on very important point; for those of us who battle, not just homelessness but mental instability as well, the Center may act as a trigger or further agrevate symptoms. And I think it is simply because when you have a serious mental instability, living in close quarters takes up the space required to overcome those personal challenges. This is but one opinion though, I know of many people and disorders where a close knit community is the missing piece. For those, and many The Lewis Center is the diamond in the rough for Palm Beach County resources.
