The Norton offers an interesting mix of exhibits. Sort of a little of everything. There is a Pissarro, a Monet, a Picasso etc. great stuff to be sure but there is no depth. Just one of this and two of that, maybe. If you want to study technique and composition of the masters you wont have to move around too much. The Norton is on the light side when it comes to classical paintings. The galleries have guards posted in virtually every corner. We found them staring at us when they thought we wouldnt notice. Two of them followed us from room to room. It was sort of creepy. Im 81 years old, my wife and I were well dressed and well behaved, still one guard, a woman, made it her business to shout commands to us like we were prisoners . Stand Back ! You are too close the painting ! she cried out. See, when you are my age and 6 ft 4 you need to bend over a teeny bit to read the informational on the wall next to the painting. Maybe she worked as a corrections officer. Another annoyance was the temperature taking and proof of vaccination cards that were required before we could enter. What unnecessary nonsense that was, not to mention it being in direct violation of the State of Floridas order that such a requirement is illegal and subject to a $5000.00 fine . The wearing of a mask was also silly. The museum was fairly empty and we couldnt have been closer than 15 feet away from any one person had we tried ( except from the guards that were shadowing us ) So you require masks in virtually empty rooms and in the gift shop but then 30 feet away we enter your restaurant which was full and the masks come off. It makes no sense at all. Then there is the WOKE component. It appears that the Nortons new mission is Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access ( IDEA ) Their words not mine. Anyway, other than the equity thing ( which is a meaningless Woke-ism ) these are noble goals but thats not why we visit art museums . One example was in the Celebrating Art by Women Exhibit where it states that the art was done by ... Artists Identifying as Women... What ? It was our first visit to the new Norton and all things considered we found the experience disappointing.

Shame shame, SHAME on you for requiring VAX proof or a test result, not to mention a mask. You may think you have the right to do so and that you are keeping everyone safe but you have been deceived. Requiring these things is discrimination and IF you were to get reported Im pretty sure you could be fined. Our wonderful group of bright, freedom loving healthy homeschool teenagers will NOT be visiting your beautiful museum.

First time here and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my experience. A good mix of art, sculptures and artifacts ranging from historical to modern. Whilst most modern art is not usually my thing the sculptures were awesome and the layout is easily navigable. I’m usually through a gallery within an hour but ended up spending over three hours here .

For those who love museums and art, this is a great place to visit in West Palm Beach. To be honest, I am not a museum lover. We decided to come to this place because we were able to visit this place without having to pay anything thanks to Bank of America for its new “Museum on Us” program. It is a program that gives free admissions to some selected museums during the first weekends of each month. It is a pretty big museum (3 levels) with a beautiful cafeteria area, restaurant, and garden. The museum presents different art collections such as American, Chinese, Contemporary, European, and Photography. The museum has its own restaurant overlooking one of its gardens. On Friday nights the museum shows films in its garden. This place has perfect wheelchair accessibility. The museum does not have any type of entertainment for children. Parking is free and is located in front of the museum.Follow me.Instagram @hoppincitiesFacebook: @hoppincitiesTwitter: @citieshoppinhoppincities.com

The art museum was far greater than expected. I would never have considered myself an art enthusiast, but the experience was captivating. After a great length of time, we found that the museum was closing and we had barely covered but a few sections. I look forward to my next opportunity to return. I have returned twice more, first one month later and, second, one week later. Both times had obvious changes to the museum. They were additionally having special performances for the chinese new year.

This museum is pretty good and I would recommend it if you are in the Palm Beach area. If you are a cost-conscious person, note that on the first Saturday Sunday of every month, showing a Bank of America credit debit or ATM card will get you in for free. At the current time you need to book in advance for a time to entry. also note that there was a parking lot directly across the street from the museum and you need to pay $5 to park there. Note your license plate number and pay at the kiosk. Its also possible to park for free on surrounding streets, especially just north of the museum.

I was not super enthused about seeing the Georgia OKeefe exhibit, but it was very good. We spent a couple of hours there, and the time flew by. I thought that I knew about her, but I was wrong. The show included many of her works, weighted towards her earlier paintings. Her early work gave me a lot of insight.Seeing art in person is completely different from seeing it online. The colors cannot be described, or reproduced in photos, posters or books. Speaking of photos, there were lots of them too. She had a very carefully guarded image, much like todays stars. Being married to a famous photographer was part of it, but she created a cult of her personality, for better and for worse. It is an excellent place to people-watch. The artsy types, the studious ones, the evidently crazy ones, they were all here. I took a break from the art and just sat, watched and listened. No extra charge for the entertainment. The rest of the museum was impressive as well. It is not large, but nevertheless an impressive collection for a small town. A small town with lots of money! An excellent option for a rainy day.

Absolutely stunning, a beautiful museum intent on its mission to share art of all types and mediums in dynamic settings inside and out. My first trip was a private small tour group and our docent was nothing short of amazing. Her riveting stories about the pieces, the displays and the architecture allowed us to learn and admire so much in z short time. We enjoyed lunch on property with a unique film of art brought to life. Toured the gardens on my own. Love, love, love. Bought myself a membership and plan on visiting often.

The reopened Norton is a beautiful building. The entrance and the new floor and the new niceties are quite beautiful. The garden is pretty with statues however some of the sculptures are not that interesting. Now regarding the artwork at the Norton it’s basically the same artwork that was there before so there are about 10 famous pieces and and it seems that Norton tried to fill up the new empty spaces with progressive political “art”. Fortunately when I was there this weekend there was a special exhibit with works by Nick Cave and Lichtenstein -very worth seeing. The glass collection in the ceiling is very creative and worth seeing too. I am personally hoping that they acquire some real artwork to fill up their walls a bit better.

One staff member seemed to be following my family around the whole time on the first floor, just to let us know something that we were doing wrong even if werent doing but looking at the different pieces. I understand that he was doing his job, but no other staff member had anything to say to us in the 2+ hours that we were in there, except for him. It was borderline harassment.
