Trustworthy and first class outfit! These guys are awesome. They do just what is needed and the $s fit the situation. They did an appraisal first and then got right on it! They had back me on the road in record time, and were genuinely friendly and accomodating into the bargain.I dont have a fancy car - its an 06 VW TDI Jetta, and theres not many mechanics wholl go near that model. I do my own oil changes and such, but I knew I was in a fix coz it needed a real ugly job doing...not a big one, but one of those youd have to be mad to tackle on your own-some. I took this problem to plenty of places and they all told me they wouldnt touch it! Josh and Don took it all in their stride like it was no big deal. From now on I would never go anywhere else, especially if I DID have a fancy car! Ill recommend Mellors to anyone says they need a mechanic, period.

These guys are professional and do good work. I took a hard to diagnose electrical problem to them. They managed to track it down and resolve it. The price was perfectly reasonable given the effort skill and effort involved.

This is the first time we go, and we told our waiter and the manager came to our table to greet us. We felt special. That was super nice! That the reason I gave 3 star. We wasnt impressed with the food. The steak to dry. My daughter loved the salmon but the sides and the appetizer were not that good. We didnt like it that much! Like my daughter said; we took it out our system, but is a no no for us!

Car had different codes turn on so I took it to Mellors and they looked at it, found nothing wrong, reset the codes, had me drive it for a week then looked at it again and no new codes popped up so they gave me the key back and charged me nothing. And Don had a smile on his face the whole time. Great service and where I will be taking my car in the future.

Took my Lexus Hybrid SUV to Mellors for service and to check on a perceived problem. They were EXTREMELY knowledgeable about my vehicle, and the problem turned out to be nothing. They are not as quick as other shops to get in and out of, and some things can take some time, but their work is excellent and if there is an issue, you can bring it back to them and they have no problems making it right. I went for an inspection on my Prius. Don and Josh took the time to diagnose the issue and did not just guess it. The initially quoted me one price but at the end they gave me a break and I was able to save some money. I had a lot of questions when I went to pick the car and Don took the time to answer all of them without rushing me out. Also while I was there another client was leaving and that client recommended them as he was leaving the place.

GREAT PEOPLE and SERVICE.!!!I am a high mileage nut. A two years ago my 2005 Prius mileage dropped from a normal 48-54 down to 39 and battery discharged at a traffic light. No warning lights. Mellors tested the Battery and found several cells within hundredths volt from failure. They changed my hybrid Battery with a Toyota new battery for over a $1,500 less than the dealership. I went back to high mileage again. Aug 2017 had another low mileage issue. Battery kept normal charge . My 2005 Prius has 222,290 miles. They changed the spark plugs & cleaned the throttle body. I recommend Mellors to anybody I encounter with a Prius. The only drawback to the car is the umbilical cord to the dealer, and these guys have fixed that problem. I bought it new, but now have 230K on my car and I expect they will help me to keep enjoying it!Update: at 265K, approaching 8 years old, I was getting increasingly nervous about the pending battery replacement, a $4000 fix on a car maybe worth less than that due to mileage. Josh told me one of his employees had picked up a slightly used one at a local dealer and was happy, so I followed suit, got one with 37K. Its fantastic, and MUCH cheaper because this time I bought NO extended warranty, of course. I am a Mellors customer for life!

Its hard to describe why Mellors is such fantastic people but okay you know that one lawyer you can trust to do right by you or that one hairdresser you know gets it, the super smart doctor that can still relate with you, well these guys are like the auto mechanic shop versions of those kinds of good people, except its each one of them and not just one. Its really cool, especially as a woman, not having to worry about whether these people are going to decide to take advantage of me or if theyre going to decide to give me a break. Not once. Of course, when you first start coming to these guys youre going to realize all the times youve been taken advantage of elsewhere, but its cool, cause knowing that your means of transportation and life wont be messed with just to get someone a few extra bucks (or a promotion) anymore is a really, really frickin good feeling. And you dont have to accompany your mom each time her car needs an oil change anymore to protect her if you send her here instead, lol, thats a joke, sort of. Such cool people, thumbs up.

Mellors is very honest and upfront.My wifes Prius battery is in its death throws. Toyota wanted $4,000 to replace the battery pack. After calling Toyota CORPORATE(highly recommend this rather than talking to your dealership) they talked the dealer down in their initial price and said Toyota is willing to give me an additional $1,400 credit. Leaving me with a $1359.09 charge to replace the battery.I spoke with Mellors and unfortunately they were unable to compete with the pricing after Toyota offering the $1400 credit. BUT, he did spend a few minutes talking with me about other issues (burning oil) Id been having with the car and offered suggestions of where I should tell the dealer to start troubleshooting because up to this point the dealer has offered little in the way of possible solutions.

I spoke with Don and he was very nasty with me, very very rude and hung up on me and never picked up my calls after that. We had a customer take their vehicle in and he gave them wrong information and the customer returned the vehicle. When I called asking for him to send over a copy of the invoice he refused to do so, called our 15 year business illegitimate, rose his voice at me, disrespected me, and was just completely unprofessional!

Ive received decent service from Mellors before, but the last several times I called them to make an appointment, they havent picked up my calls and never returned them after I left a message. I suspect it is because I am from out-of-state and therefore have an out-of-state phone number.

I have been getting my vehicles repaired from Mellor Automotive for several years even back when they were on New Haven. Understand, Im an old, retired auto mechanic myself and am very fastidious about how my vehicles are treated. I consider Josh Mellor one of my best friends not just because he repairs all of my vehicles, but mainly because he is very honest and upfront with me. He wont even begin a major repair on any of my vehicles until he confers with me first, and gives me all of my options. Ive even taken a motorcycle to him that I could not figure out what was wrong with it. He did not balk, but told me to bring it in and hell take a look at it. No matter how many wheels your vehicle has, 2, 6, 18, bring your vehicle into Mellor Automotive and you will be treated with respect and honesty, something unheard of in the Auto Mechanics Industry today.

I got in a wreck right on Ellis Rd. where Mellors is about 1/4 mile away. Although my leaked all the coolant out I managed to limp into Mellors lot. I found out Mellors does not do body work but Don the owner graciously allowed me to use one of the spots in hos full lot until my insurance picked it up to take it to the holding yard. Well, 9 fricking days later my lousy insurance (Progressive) finally mustered up enough resources to get it towed. 9 days for a tow! Don at Mellors didnt even charge them a holding fee. This is a stand up local business worthy of 6 stars if the scale allowed for it. Cheers to Mellors Auto on Ellis Rd, we will certainly be referring people we know there.

One if the most honest guys youll meet!

I have a 2007 Prius. Bo Frazer recommended Josh and Mellors Automotive to me and they are a Godsend. This week I took it in for an oil change and to check the maintenance lights and recall notices Id been ignoring for over two years. I got an appointment for the next day. They scanned the system, checked everything and caught me up to date with maintenance, including removing and replacing the coolant flow control valve and water pump, flushing the brake system, cleaning and adjusting the brakes, cleaning the battery fan, rotating tires. It cost me half of what I expected. I opted to pay for the recall work rather than take the car to the dealer to have it done free. Ive had Toyotas for 40 years, I know how that taking-it-to-the-dealer thang turns out. At Mellors, I got to use the wifi and go online while I listened to Don the service manager make and take calls. He’s a professional and personable guy who knows his stuff. They gave me a ride home and had my car ready an hour ahead of time. Best of all, no surprise charges at the last minute. I recommend Mellors to anyone with a Toyota Prius.
