I am only rating this a one star because I cant give them zero stars... This company is a JOKE. My husband called them in March after getting a flyer in the mail advertising 50% off of their normal prices if you call that month. We needed some help with our lawn (too many weeds, it was growing too thin, we wondered if we had bugs?), so we thought it would be a good idea. When my husband called, he was told that they would come out once a month for the next six months to apply certain chemicals and fertilizer to the lawn to help it grown more healthily. This sounded great! The downside... 50% of the regular price was $392.62!!! That was crazy! We paid it, hoping for the best, but we have had no great results to show for it. I am attaching a picture of my lawn in August (so four months into this process). Note the lack of grass (dead grass) and the weeds/flowers in my lawn.A couple other things... They never came on their own. In order to get them to come monthly, we had to instigate the visit EVERY TIME. And they have no customer service phone number, so you have to wait to chat with them within the app, and there were multiple times where their office closed while we were in the queue to chat with someone, so we were dropped from the queue and had to start again another day.The first time they came out, we wanted to talk to them about their plans, what they were going to do, etc., so we wanted to be home when they came. They never called to arrange a time, so when they showed up, I saw them outside and went outside to chat with them. When I went outside, the worker was fertilizing my lawn with one hand, while smoking a cigarette with the other. When he saw me coming, he threw his cigarette ON MY LAWN, and stomped on it to put it out. Im sure that definitely helped my lawns health.Bottom line- they came out six times, once each month, which I had to initiate, with really no change from what my yard looked like last summer. Really all they did was fertilize for me each month for nearly $400. SAVE YOURSELF $400 AND GO TO IFA AND BUY YOUR OWN FERTILIZER!

Our lawn had some spots that needed a little help and we had some morning glory start coming up. We decided why not bring in the professionals and really wish we hadnt. We had consistent issues with applications being done at the wrong house, got billed for additional services that they just added on, and I had to call multiple times to get them to cancel my account(the person that finally processed the cancellation was the only helpful person I ever talked to).After a year of service my lawn looks worse than ever. I shouldve just spent my own time to do things properly.

After having a contract with Trugreen since the wintertime, it is now July 23, 2021 and our lawn has never had more weeds. Trugreen has not been out to perform service since the first week of June. Half our yard is full of clover weeds. DO NOT USE TRUGREEN

We hired TruGreen at the end of April 2021. They came and sprayed and stated they would contact us in 4-6 weeks to schedule the next treatment. 8 weeks later I had to call them three times to get them to finally come out and treat our lawn again. During that call, the service rep agreed to wave the cost of the second treatment and set up our account to be treated every 4 weeks. 7 weeks later we still havent heard from them. On top of that, we received a bill for the second treatment, even though they said they would wave the cost. Thankfully, they did wave the cost after I called and complained again. And, like other reviewers Ive seen here, my lawn is now covered in clovers, which weve never had before. I do NOT recommend this unreliable and highly unprofessional company, and will never use them again.

Scam alert!Let me tell you about our experience. I signed up for treatments on both front and back yard (2800 sq ft). We were to be serviced every 7-10 weeks. The first service in May did the full yard and was great. The next one didnt happen until July (well after 10 weeks). The men drove up and were gone in about 5 minutes. They sprayed the front yard, but did not do the back. I confronted them, but they insisted the back was not included and drove off. I called their office immediately and was told that my backyard absolutely was included, and that this was a misunderstanding. The lady claimed she would send a technician back sometime that week to do the backyard.Fast forward 2 weeks to today. The technician (Hayden L) shows up and leaves in under a minute. I received a receipt that claimed that they didnt need to do anything and if I wanted my backyard done, I needed to sign up for the extra service. My husband called.This is where it gets infuriating. The customer service rep, Jay, informed my husband that our front yard was 2800 sq ft (we measured; its 1100 sq ft). Jay then straight lied and told my husband that I had called at some point today. I did not. He refused to put my husband on with a manager. My husband asked him to cancel the account, and Jay let us know that there would be no refund. Thats nearly 320 dollars we are out.And thats where we are. Were contacting a lawyer, and in the meantime, I will be posting this everywhere you have an online presence, as well as filing a complaint with the BBB and the relevant Utah authorities.Do not contract with this company.

The only trugreen we have is the countless number of weeds that have taken control of our yard. If missing scheduled days was an Olympic sport, TruGreen would be the gold medalist. If their customer service was graded by the number of times they say Im sorry we missed again, we will schedule someone to be there in 48 to 72 hours, theyd all have full-ride scholarships to Harvard. If the company was run by politicians, yellow would be the new green!They care enough to call after missing 4 scheduled treatments to see if we wanted to upgrade to include tree and shrub treatment. That almost earned them another star.

We thought we would try this company out and what a mistake. They showed up on the first visit and have missed two months since that time. You can’t speak to a manager or supervisor because none are available. You call to talk to customer service and they are not available to answer calls but if you select the new customer button they answer right away (that’s how I finally was able to speak to a person). In order to talk to someone you have to leave a message and they will get back to you within 48 hours. We paid in advance for our lawn treatments. This company does not know the definition of customer service, values or ethics. I would not recommend anyone to hire this company for any job. They simply do not care.

Paid for a 9 service lawn package. Scheduled and setup our first visit. 2 weeks later they still had not shown up, no call, no messages, nothing.. Checked online and they had cancelled our appointment. They didnt even setup another one or notify us. We called customer service and all they did was offer us a 10% discount and to reschedule us. We asked for our money back. The lady fought with us only offering a 10% discount. Then she hung up on us. We called back and got a guy who did the same thing. Called the manager at Trugreen and he yelled at my wife then hung up on her. Then he refused to answer his phone. Finally got ahold of someone at the corporate and got our full refund after 2 weeks.Read all the reviews... this company is pathetic and unprofessional. DO NOT USE THEM!! They will never show up and its a fight to get your money back.

I prepaid for service and was promised multiple times someone would come out to look at my lawn and provide a plan to help restore my lawn. No one ever showed up, so I called an was told nothing had been scheduled. I asked them to schedule something and got a vague answer, someone will come out to you in the next week. No one came. I called again and was told for sure they would send someone on Thur July 2. No one showed. I called again and asked for a refund and to speak to a manager. They said I couldnt speak to a manager, but that they would cancel and refund me. I asked for some sort of confirmation of the cancellation. They cant do that and I just had to trust her and check my account. Of course no refund was issued and I had to call again today. I was told a manager would call me back (I doubt it). This is truly the worst company I have ever had to deal with.

What a horrible experience! Had some tall weeds growing in front lawn after they had done their spreading. Called to get them to come treat the weeds and 10 days later they finally said they would come...never showed up. Never using Trugreen again. Unreliable and not trustworthy. As an employee I was promised to work 40 a week. But that didnt happen. I was forced to work more that expect. Thats time away from my family. I felt pressured to sell to people even though I wasnt comfortable. Working long hours and being covered with chemicals is not ideal. Management was hit and miss. The general manager was great. He ended up leaving and things got worse. I would have stayed longer but the work conditions forced me to look elsewhere. I also was working in a truck in the summertime with no air-conditioning untill I fixed it myself. I also had to air up a tire that hasnt been fixed for weeks.

Absolutely the worst company I have ever used for any service. I prepaid for the entire season back in April for lawn fertilization, pest control, and trees and shrubs. The came ONCE for each of those and two of them were back in April! We are now almost in the middle of July.What really set me off today is they were scheduled to come and do pest control. They texted and said they were close to arriving and than an hour later they texted me and said they wouldnt make it today. I logged into my account and they invoiced me for today! They flat out lied. I have cameras all over my property, they never showed!I talked to James Bueller (seemed nice and understanding) a customer rep out of a different state and he is issuing a refund. I paid almost $1,700 upfront and they will be issuing a refund for over $1,400. From the looks of the comments Ive read I wont hold my breathe. I will escalate this and take legal action if necessary. I have absolute proof they lied and were deceitful. I want my money back! Ifyou are reading this review STAY FAR AWAY from this company. Absolutely horrible communication, scheduling, customer service. I will end with this, the product to me actually works great, but they never show up and than lie about. Getting them to schedule you and show up is absolutely a Joke.

Our neighbor uses this service and we were home one day and they sprayed our house by mistake. Big mistake because we have animals, fruit trees, garden, strawberries, and rhubarb. We didnt know they did it until my kids, rabbit, dog had already been running around in the chemicals. Called the company and they wouldnt even tell me what was in the spray until the next day. They didnt seem to care we all got headaches and felt sick. Poison control was very concerned but they wouldnt even give us their insurance so we could go to the doctor to get checked out. Everything edible was ruined in our garden this year and they have done nothing. They wont take responsibility and I even have them on my security cameras doing the spray. I think taking them to court is my only recourse. I would definitely not recommend this company and their service. My family definitely had a chemical headaches from their spray and they definitely dont care about people, customer or not.

West Jordan TruGreen provides fertilization, weed and pest control services at our home. They have been excellent and timely and I would heartily recommend them for the quality of their services and their personnel. We had a question about the color of parts of our lawn and they sent someone to inspect our lawn the next day. High quality services, great company and great people! Our lawn has never looked this good!!

Go anywhere but here for yard services. A child would be more reliable. After pre-paying for aeration, no one showed up. With my 2nd call they informed that they saw I called and paid for the service, but they failed to schedule someone to come out. They re-scheduled me and again, no show. This the happened again after my 3rd call. I then called a 4th time and was told they couldnt get anyone out for 2 more weeks. I cancelled the service at this point and now expect I will have the same issue being refunded. Thanks for nothing Trugreen. You are absolutely a worthless company.

Used them for the summer of 2020 it was not a good experience. Not only was I called all the time to try to sell me other services, but the sales people wouldnt listen one call was when my mother was dying and I was getting calls from family. So I answered the phone to trugreen sales I told not right now and what was going on and the guy continued with his sales pitch.If that wasnt bad enough they burned my grass and caused huge holes on the lawn. When called out on this they told me my dogs did it even though I pointed out I have a dog walk and my dogs dont come in this area. They had a manger come out who told me they would make it right and over seed my yard and aerate it. After several months I never saw this done and several calls they said they put it in the system and they would be out. But it never got done.

Negative 10 Stars* Oh just wait for the grand finale of this review! I asked them to only come on Mondays especially for the 1st visit so my husband and I could ask our questions and have a consultation. They came on the Friday before instead without a call or text. I came home to papers they left on my door, so I called and asked what services they did on my lawn. The lady I spoke to said they treated my front lawn for weeds. They were only supposed to treat my backyard btw. Later in the day I realize they stuck one of their TruGreen flag things in my backyard. I thought okay great, they treated the backyard. EXCEPT they sprayed while my puppy was back there AND they didnt close the side gate so my dog RAN AWAY! Im grateful some kids in the neighborhood found her and knew where she lived and put her back in my yard. But Im very upset with every aspect of their service. 10 out of 10 I do not recommend TruGreen. There response was a poor Im sorry and tried to convince me to keep my account with them. Yeah, absolutely not.

BEWARE! If I could give them 0 stars, I would. We put in a new yard this summer and hired TruGreen to help us take care of it. From the very beginning we had no shows but were still charged for the service. We also signed up for the mosquito defense and the trees and shrubs service. For months, I was convinced these guys weren’t doing anything but couldn’t prove it, all the while being charged a couple of hundred dollars a month for these services. Well, I finally got them! On my doorbell camera, it shows their truck pulling up in front of my house, sitting there for a couple of minutes, then they threw the yard sign out the window into the grass and left! I then got a charge for $170! This company robbed us and lied to us multiple times. I would NEVER recommend them.

They’ve missed appointments without prior notice and have left our front lawn destroyed / brown (we think it’s from grubs). They recently came out to seed / aerate and didn’t even mention the massive dead spot in our lawn. Our lack of trust in this company is so extensive that we won’t even ask them to reseed the dead area they missed for free - I’d rather pay full price for a competent company to come evaluate and fix.Find another option. Looks like Green Grounds has great reviews.

The name should be more like tru YELLOW, not only can they not get rid of a few weeds but will actually turn your grass from green to yellow. We gave them 3 months to make the lawn look better but actually don’t think this location has competent lawn experts. We had them come out And access the lawn several times but with every one of the applications it lawn got more weeds. My lawn looks worse than ever. Customer service is awful. Called on Aug 20 and they said they couldnt come until Aug 31. They did not show up. Called on Sept 2 and they said the earliest time they could come is Sept 10. So they came on Sept 10 but did not have the Revive treatment, and the service persons tablet was broken so he couldnt schedule a time for the treatment. I do not recommend TruGreen. Its frustrating to pay for lawn service and have such terrible customer service.

Whether its the local Tru Green not getting it right, or the Call Center that cant, Ive completely had it with them. This is my 3rd year paying for service, and this year has been absolutely the worst service and results on my lawn. Why am I paying them for weeds to not be killed? Why do they regularly not show up on the day they say is my next scheduled service online? Why do they sometimes not show up even when I get an automated phone call the day before? Spot spraying my weeds is not effective, and when Im told they will come out and blanket spray my lawn with a hose to kill weeds, and it doesnt happen, why? Stop wasting my time, but mostly, my $$. Ive put a lot of time and effort into my yard since I moved in 3 years ago, and want it to look good. Fertilization and weed control is part of that. They want me to consider having them fertilize my plants and trees? I dont think so. I can do a better job myself, and will plan to next year. IFA, here I come to try your products.

I am having trouble with morning glory in my lawn. I called TruGreen to see if they had options to treat it. The representative on the phone just laughed at me and argued with me saying it was a flower and not a weed. He continued to just laugh so I told him that was not the way to treat a potential customer and hung up. It was extremely unprofessional and rude. TruGreen will definitely not be getting my business, nor anyone I can talk to. It is especially disappointing because I had used them in the past and was looking to do so again. Not now.

The professional that came out today looked at the grass and said looks good to me.Then asked if I minded that he ran his hose over our two vehicles parked in the driveway.Literally 10 lawns you can see around me are crazy better looking. Weve lived here over 15 years, and since trugreen took over last year. Its never looked worse.This was after I phoned days ago, and expressed my concern about the quality of the service Im receiving, and was assured that they would send their best guy out and get it corrected. Best guy wants to run his fertilizer hose over about $40k in vehicles. What a joke.

The service was on time and friendly and overall our lawn is green, healthy, and relatively weed free. We hired true green to deal with lawn grubs in the spring. We now have sever damage to our back lawn due to grub worms and true green is now recommending we pay them more money to dethatch and reseed the dead spots. Thanks, but no thanks.

Been using trugreen 2 years. Today they just show up unannounced and do aeration and broke my pipe. He said someone would come by and fix it today which was weird. I got him to sign a piece of paper before he left saying he broke it that they would fix it. I called true green they said 1 to 2 business days then a manager would call me to schedual a time to come look at it to see if they did it. I said of course he did it thats why he signed my paper. Its gonna take over a week to fix it I know it cause they got to also schedual someone to fix it if they do actually own up to it. So I cancelled

We have used TruGreen for a couple of years now. Each year they promised the weeds in our lawn would be gone by the next season. They have continued to spread through the grass with no sign of slowing.We have also used them for pest control. Im not sure what chemical they used this last time but all the flowers in my flower beds are now dieing as well as big patches of grass. After the years Ive put into my flower beds they now look like garbage thanks to this professional lawn maintenance company.

Trugreen Does Not Value Customers Time, Managers Do Not Follow Through on Complaints Effectively, Missed Service Does Not Get Elevated to the Top Priority for Next Day Service.BACKGROUND: My situation is such that I must be present to provide access to the property. The weed and feed service has improved my lawn greatly, and I am (or was) looking forward to having the lawn aerated and over-seeded. This is a tale of how a company can waste a customers valuable time. Details below, from a FORMERLY satisfied customer.Waited for two separate services this week; the weed and feed service and the aeration and over-seeding service. Weed and feed (scheduled 11am-4pm) tech shows up around 3:30pm with typical reliability. Great service there as always - thank you Steven Y! Then around 3:30pm (just after the weed and feed tech finishes) I get a text that the aeration and over-seeding service is going to show up between 2pm-8pm. (BTW, I really appreciate the coordinated effort to tie up my day.) So I wait, and wait and wait, not wanting to leave the house and miss this important service that Ive prepaid for. Next text arrives at 7:30pm says that the aeration tech will show up soon. Then, at 7:56pm comes the text Unable to perform service. Well, THAT didnt work out so well, but Im trying be empathetic to the techs because I see all the hurdles they have to deal with to get the job done. Not always their fault, right? Just so happens I have the next day off, and while Its not my idea of a great weekend this work needs to get done before cooler weather rolls in and Im hoping that theyll put me at the top of the list for the next days work. That seems logical to me. But, no! Called first thing next morning to see about getting the problem resolved and I couldnt directly talk to a supervisor or manager, I had to wait for their call. Again, waiting on Trugreen. Of course the call comes when I cant answer it, went to voice mail. Call back, get a different person. Lather, rinse, repeat, ad nauseum. This person says they cant do much for me except reschedule for the following week. Not a happy customer here. The season is passing for getting this done, you need 3 weeks of grow time for the over-seeding to take root and survive the winter.Trugreen may do a good job of marketing, and their products work well. Ive had reasonably good service with the weed and feed. However, when it comes to Problem Resolution it seems like they cant figure it out. Why would you not have a supervisor or manager call to follow up THAT VERY EVENING when your techs cant complete a service? Especially when youve asked that customer to wait at home ALL DAY LONG (11am to 8pm!). At least call first thing the next day and offer to put me at the top of the list for service.

Please read through the reviews before you do anything. I didnt read them until after they charged my account for a service that was not done. And after conversations that basically were accusing me of lying, yes maybe they did do someone else is yard but they charged my account. Now they have my information and I guess can charge me for someone else is lawn care. I am so mad! Their customer service is terrible. Instead of checking with the person who said they came out they made me feel like S**T. Dont use them.

I used to use TruGreen until they came one time in 2019 when I was out of town. I knew they arrived because of a notification from my doorbell camera. I then checked my backyard camera to make sure they closed my gate. The problem was that the gate never was opened. After 4 minutes of initially arriving at my house, the TruGreen worker left their service order on my front door saying they sprayed my entire yard, even though my cameras told a different story. (My backyard camera is not a motion camera, but rather always recording, so its not like it missed seeing the worker)

Called to see about lawn service and was told with the coupon I would pay 47.45 for my first spray and then we would go from there. They came sprayed and then charged my bank 144.35 please beware of the hidden cost they don’t tell you about. Even got an email with what my one time charge would be and they still charged me 96.90 more. Please be careful with this company!!

If I could leave a Zero rating I would. Towards 3/4 of the year I paid for their service, nothing in my lawn had improved. They told me they’d get rid of the grubs, the crab grass, even the tree shoots. They sent a “specialist” out to review, and even he said the lawn didn’t look great, and took a “sample” of my grass back for analysis. Well, never heard back. They had the audacity of trying to go beyond my year and billed me for an extra service, until I called the office. The Manager came out and explained to me that basically everything they promised they could do for me was a lie. “The type of crab grass you have, there’s nothing on the market that will get rid of it”. Amazing that info didn’t come out until AFTER a year of service. When I asked for a refund because of their GUARANTEE, he refused. What the hell is a guarantee for? I will continue to tell anyone and everyone I know to stay away from this company and terrible service.

Awful experience with this company. Technicians come and go and do an alright job, some don’t bother on doing the work because everyone is gone during the day. Management is awful, obnoxious with the up-sell after never caring about the service. They wanted to aerate my lawn just because that’s what golf courses do and they pretty grass, like I have a golf course at home. I would’ve done it if they would have if Rick (or whatever his name is) had at least some customer service skills, instead of shoving his “15 years” of experience. I would hire a guy with 1 year of experience if willing to treat people correctly.

I was promised on four separate occasions that they would come to my home, and on four separate occasions nobody ever showed. Ive spent a lot of time on the phone with their customer service people (who are all very nice) but just cant ever get anybody out to my house. I thought I had the service paid up but I am billed an additional $10.08. Ive emailed to find out about the bill but had no response, except auto reply to say they will reply. So I emailed to them and asked them to cancel the service, and have had no reply . . . except the same auto reply.Will the provide more service; charging more that Im expected to pay? After completing the 1 year service contract they continued to charge me without request or notification. When I finally realized I was still being charged I called to pay the bill and close out my account and was assured that I payed the charges due. Now Im receiving collection notices from an agency saying that I still havent paid everything. The HOA board hired TruGreen for our town home community and I was not impressed! They drove a huge fertilizer spreader behind and down the side of our house between our flower beds and rock wall which was not a big enough space for the machine and destroyed our bushes, flowers and damaged all of the concrete curbing by driving up over it into our flower beds. They then tried shoving all of the bushes and plants they demolished behind other things in the flower bed. I was not happy when I went out and saw what they did.

The services they provide are excellent, there is no mistake about the fact that my yard looks amazing. I cant stand the constant phone calls and drop-ins to try and upsell. If you try to cancel they ask you a million questions and transfer you around.I went out of town for a wedding and, my bad, forgot to all the not to come while I was away since my yard is currently being ripped apart but a sprinkler system install, and when they showed up they decided to spray anyway and charge my card. There is literally maybe 4 yards of grass showing.

Hands down the worst company for taking care of weeds and fertilizing that exists. Im not one to write reviews. basically what you pay for is weed watering.... the weeds actually do better after theyve sprayed! SAD

“I own a rental home that was having a few problems with grubs and weeds. Nothing serious so I signed up and paid for a full year in advance. I told them specifically I did not want to continue after 2017. The treatments were WAY more expensive than doing it myself, and honestly, the lawn did not improve. Truegreen kept calling me during the year to try up-sell me on additional services that I did not want or need. Honestly it was really annoying.This year, they said they came by and did a treatment. I did not authorize any additional treatment but that didnt stop them from billing me. They kept sending the bill to the rental home, and it kept getting returned, so I didnt get anything. They did however call me to tell me I owe them money. I have now spent MANY fruitless phone calls talking to representatives. They have canceled all future treatments but still say I owe them $60. I call shenanigans.Save yourself a lot of stress and DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.”

Do not use this service. I signed up for a 1 year contract and canceled the next year. They proceeded to bill me for that entire year and kept doing the service. This year I received a notification that I was scheduled for another service (Tomorrow) although I said I canceled the service last year. They proceeded to tell me I didnt cancel it forever but just for the year...such a joke. Any company that does this should not be in business. I just got off the phone with customer service and she informed me that all of my services from now on have been canceled and I waited on the phone until I received an email notification explaining that everything has been canceled. For such a large national brand this is unreal. By reading everyone elses comments, it looks like everyone else is in the same boat as myself.

I was not going to write a review but now I feel obligated to warn people about this company (Scotts Lawn Service). I called to set up a monthly service where they would fertilize/weed control my lawn. They said in one week they would have a service tech come to my house. I told them to call me day before or day of because I had some questions for service tech. One week and 5 days later I get an email that says they serviced my lawn and are charging my credit card. But I had not received a phone call day before or day of. Also when they spray, they are suppose to put up signs that warn people & pets to stay off grass because it can be dangerous. Their was no signs or invoice or nothing that showed that they had come. So I called their office to see what was going on and they said they would have someone call me back with more info. No call back or nothing, so I called their office again and said to cancel my service. Now (1 Month later) I get another email that they are charging my credit card again. Looks like they never canceled my account. So now I have to file a dispute with my credit card company because I cant trust what Scotts Lawn Service tells me. You would think a manager would follow up with me and figure out what was going on, but no, nothing. Be warned people, dont take their word for anything they say.

Just started using these guys, first time out this year they left my back gate open. Let my dog outside to play and didn’t notice the gate was still open, he ended up running onto a main road and was hit by a car. I’m now about $1800 in medical bills for my dog. Wouldn’t recommend.

The first tech was good but after that the service sucked they dont spend time on your lawn they just rush through I know you have a lot of account and customers to have to get to but take your time and do your job right, every other time I call a get this lady named Margery or whoever that is rude and have no clue of what Im trying to explain like she is trying to rush you off the phone its like she is not even trying to understand what Im explaining, but Tom line is they treat you good to sicker you in then treat you like cap when your spending you hard earned money. We had a sales rep come to our home to upsell our service. Not to treat our lawn but to simply upsell what we already had in place. He rang the doorbell and we did not answer. Next thing we know, he is walking around our backyard snooping and looking through our windows while my 7 yr old daughter was playing with her friends on her trampoline. My husband went out to confront him on why he was in our backyard unannounced and the rep told my husband that Trugreen Sales Reps can enter our entire property unannounced at their convenience. I called corporate and this is NOT true. The man was snooping and he lied. Our account has been cancelled because this rep told his manager that my husband had a weapon attached to his hip and threatened to use it on him. . what a joke..

I had several friends recommend Scotts to me and I tried it. I wasnt crazy about their service, but wasnt unhappy with it either. I asked them to come on Thursdays when I could be home and they never did. After a year or two with them my husband wanted to take care of the lawn himself so we canceled Scotts service. This was a couple of years ago. Since then I have received over a dozen calls from Scotts offering new services and trying to get me to sign back up. I have asked them each time to take me off their call list, but I still get calls every couple of months. If you sign up with them and later cancel, they will NEVER leave you alone!

I have requested a visit with a specialist multiple times over a month long period and have never received the visit I was promised. My lawn is the only one on our street that is treated by TruGreen and it looks the worst. I had one employee contact me about my concerns and then never showed for our scheduled appointment and never had the decency to call after missing the appointment and never took the opportunity to reschedule. I am going to cancel my service.

Why did I not listen to the reviews, absolutely the worst company Ive ever dealt with got a flyer in the mail that it Would-be $30 to come check my lawn to see what was wrong and when they left they charged me over a $100 my lawn still looks terrible have called multiple times they say theyll have someone come out they never show and no one ever calls us back!! STAY AWAY! They have very friendly and aggressive sales on the phone but no service to follow it up with. I simply wanted my lawn to be green and weed free. They killed large parts of my grass, and flower garden, and refused to come back and meet me at my home. Do not sign up for a service contract, do not sign up for service.

This company is garbage. I paid well over $400 with a guarantee my grass would be greener thicker and fuller. Guess what. I still have dead patches. I still have weeds. I called because their moto is that they guratee their product or your money back.. they gave me 20 dollars back. Then had the nerve to try to sell me more product. Do yourself a favor and find another company youre basically eating 400 bucks. And having them sell you more product.UPDATE: they told me a manager would contact me in 24 hours.. its been a week. Still no phone call.Another uptade. I have called and asked for a manager 7 times now.. this company doesnt care about their customers at all

Wish I could have given a zero. First, in all fairness, I should say that each of the agents I spoke to (there were many) at the national call center were all very polite and courteous. However, I prepaid for the TruHealth Lawn Plan which is supposed to include 5 fertilizing and weed control applications as well as bug control applications. I received one application in April, and since that time have had 4 no call, no show appointments. All I receive is a message in the TruGreen App that says sorry, we could not complete your application. please call us if you have any questions. My lawn has never looked so bad!! WHY? Because nobody will call me back from the Salt Lake office (by the way, there is no way to call anyone local which is also ridiculous), and nobody will come out and provide the services I pre-paid for. After 2 months of not showing up or calling, I finally get a call today, not to help me with my problem, but to try and upsell me with a mosquito application. REALLY??? Why on earth would I pay more money for an additional service when you cannot even come out and perform the services I already paid you for 2 months ago?

These people suck. That is the nicest thing I can say. The young man who sold us the service was terrific. The rest are the worse I have ever dealt with. Agreement since March 10th and still no service. Four different times scheduled four no shows. Always they will call if can’t make it. I am pretty sure these idiots do not know how to use a phone. Finally called today cancelled and was told it would take 14 days to get my money back. Really yet they sure took my money fast. This is a follow up from a previous, 1-star review. After posting our negative experience (lack of communication, chemically burned lawn, inexperience, etc) we had a branch manager, ‘Jeff’ contact us and leave a message. He promised to re-sod our lawn that his crew chemically burned, 2 months ago. His employee called and set up a date to perform the work which was to be last Friday, the 31st.As expected, TruGreen was a no-show that day and did not contact us with any notification. The phone number of the manager I was given (vs the only available contact for us - National Call Center) does not work. Still waiting for resolution on the 2,000 sq feet of lawn they destroyed.

We paid $600.00 for what we have always paid $199.00 for from a private contractor in Utah County. We expected this service would be at least equal to his service. We contracted for at least 6 applications during the summer months. So far - as of the end of July we have received 2 applications. Our grass is developing patches of crab grass, a small purple leaf weed that looks like clover and tons of broad leaf flowers that are growing in the lawn. We even had a whole patch of johnny jump ups growing right in the middle of our grass. I called and talked to someone and they said that they would send a manager out to look at the lawn - that was a week ago and we have not heard one word on that service. We feel that we should be able to get a HUGE refund since the service that we paid for has not produced one outcome that was promised when we contracted with Scotts.

I switched to Trugreen this year after being with a different company the last two years and my lawn has never looked worse. My lawn is constantly covered in weeds and my grass has never reached the green color of years passed. Definitely wont be with Trugreen next year. There are better options at a lower cost. They only good thing about Trugreen is their customer service.

I made the mistake of calling TruGreen to get an estimate. Since then, I have been put on a robo call list and get two or three calls a day. Today I got a call from a local number, and my phone didnt screen it. I have never been so thoroughly harassed by any company that wasnt a debt collector--ever!

Wow! Why didnt i check the reviews before getting their service. Im sure it made some difference on the lawn but i still had lots of morning glory and other weeds. Apparently its the customers job to let them know bcuz their technicians must have their eyes closed while applying. I rarely leave negative reviews but when i called to talk to them, DENNIS, the customer service rep was so rude and condescending. I tried to get off the phone and he just kept going with his smart mouth and unprofessionalism. Done with this company because of him! And to add they showed up a few times on non z scheduled days, sprayed my back lawn with my dogs toys on the lawn and left the back gate open once. Dog toys arent cheep and i had to throw the 5 away bcuz i wasnt going to chance my dog getting sick or worse

Have had Trugreen out a few times and each time they barely spray anything and claim to do services they don’t. They are a total scam. They rid no weeds and they doubled billed us last month for absolutely nothing. Horrible! I would never recommend them! We have out of control weeds. These guys don’t know what they’re doing! I live in Utah county area! Beware and never use!!

There should be a zero as a rating choice. We have been longtime Trugreen customers in Minnesota for over 30 years. We recently relocated to Utah and I sent an email inquiring about potential lawn service for our new home. I received a phone call today from a rep at corporate headquarters. He tried to strong arm me into more services than I wanted by raising the price of each visit. He also tried to pressure me into prepaying. When I said that we would need to compare Trugreen’s offer to other potential companies, he hung up on me while I was still talking. Hung. Up. On. Me. Thanks, buddy, you just made my search that much easier.

I moved from Herriman ( and used Trugreen) to Riverton this year and received a better price through Scotts. I really have not been to happy at all. I have dogs so I scheduled certain times so they would not be in the way of the tech. There were times I would receive the automated calls from Scotts for sevice and the tech did not show up and then I would have to call the office to reschedule and they would then come out a couple of week later. I also question if some services were performed, no calls, no paper work then a bill would show up ( I had prepaid at the begging of spring to save $ ). Lack of communication is very poor on their end. For these reasons I`m going back to Trugreen.David - Riverton UT

As mentioned by another individual somewhere on this review list, I have serious doubts anything was done. The aeration was literally 1/4 deep and very spotty. I could have probably done more with my thumb.On the grub application, the Scotts van was in front of my house for no more than 10 minutes to apply this chemical on the front, back and side yards that was fenced in with a gate over .20 acres.....I dont think so. To top it off, they left the back gate open and my dog got out when I specifically told the salesman that if they were going to come by and open the gate to give me a call or to make sure the gate was locked...neither was done...and I WAS HOME..not even a knock.I cancelled the rest of the season. Ill just do it myself... If you want to add insult to injury, when I called to cancel they girl on the phone sounded very sweet and genuinely empathetic about my situation but I wasnt offered a discount or refund or anything so Im not sure they even empower her to make up for their bullshit, which is unfortunate because she sounded too nice to have to deal with pissed off home owners.

Been with Scotts for 2+ years. They sprayed the other day and burned my lawn. The reason I dont do my own fertilizing is that I sometimes burn the lawn and I wanted a professional that wouldnt do that.When I called them about it, they came out and said: It looks like we burned your lawn with fertilizer. The best thing to do at this point is heavily water it for the next couple weeks and it should fully bounce back. We are sorry for the mishap. No offer of any discount, just a written note on my door. So, now I have an ugly lawn and have to spend more money on watering.

I suffered along with these guys for 2 years. I had brown spot after brown spot, all kinds of crazy weeds popping up everywhere. They killed a 3X3 section of my lawn with over fertilizing. Kept telling me I had grubs but never really communicated with me about why things were happening. Finally just very fed up with them telling me that the weeds were going crazy this year. Why the heck to I pay you to take care of weeds and then you dont. I cancelled by service via email last fall, they called me today to confirm my appt for tomorrow. Had to call and cancel again. Not a good experience, never going back to them.

We asked for this service to treat our lawn for a specific weed and they said they could but they did not get rid of it. I did not pay the bill due to their service not being what they said it would be and when I called to complain they said they would have a rep contact me to make it right. No contact by a representative just a letter from a collection agency 2 weeks later, the first one I have ever received in my 57 years. I paid the bill and figured I had to let others know of the bad service.
