I hate to say this because I loved playing here when I first started 3 years or so ago, but unfortunately the quality of management and reffing has slowly declined. Matches get out of hand because of the lack of control by refs. Hard challenges are never sanctioned by anything more than a blue card. The owner Loren makes promises to look at and review situations but never does. If you complain at all you will receive retaliation from refs and management. Player safety is clearly less of a concern than money at this establishment. My team who has yet to win a division is told we are being moved 6 divisions up because a former ref of the place playing on an opposing team we smashed complained. When playing here expect to have refs be buddy buddy with their fellow ref friends playing on the opposing team. The bias is maddening. I can’t say enough about the frustration you will experience and utter apathy towards your team that is thinly veiled behind empty promises and threats. Think twice before paying the $750 a season it takes to get nothing but injuries and a lack of action.

I have played soccer for over 20 years, including at the collegiate level, and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had.Officials and management are extremely unprofessional, and consistently put the players safety at risk.Don’t play here… plenty of other great places in Utah to play soccer.

If you want an idea of how a business shouldn’t be run and how to not enjoy soccer I highly recommend going here, the manager knowingly admits that his staff can’t officiate but yet continues to suspend players that express their frustrations with the quality of refs. You are better off kicking a ball at the wall rather then playing here! What a joke

If it werent the only place in the valley to play indoor soccer it would be out of business. Managers do nothing to ensure safe, fair, and balanced games. Nearly every game ends with confrontation and frustration with 0 intervention from the refs. Will continue to pay and put up with it until something better comes along, which shouldnt be hard to do considering the low bar set by this place... What a JOKE.

Was trying to appeal a red card and was told(by the owner) to just leave the place, he would not let me talk to him about it. Does not sound like the owner wants to listen to the customers or players that pay to play, any altercation will always be your fault, no matter the deal...

TLDR: The referee staff is going downhill rapidly and management doesnt seem to care.Up until recently I would have given these guys a much higher review. Over the past couple months weve been having issues with one particular ref, speaking to the teams in our league its just about all of them having the same issue. It all came to a head over the past 3 weeks, I said something I shouldnt have and got a red card, deservedly so. After serving my suspension I went back and played a game, then went in yesterday to play and was told I had gotten another red card. I hadnt been shown any cards in the game the week before, we had been reffed by the same referee though and apparently she wrote up a report after the game giving me a red card for saying something to her, which simply isnt true, I left the facility without seeing a card at all and without her notifying me of any such thing. The facility management seems unwilling to address the problem, despite us having multiple discussions with whoever we can, but getting in touch with someone with any authority seems near impossible. Ive been playing here for around 5 years, never received anything worse than a blue card up to this point and have listened to multiple people complain about the same things with this ref but somehow management feels its more likely that many players and teams are in the wrong as opposed to one referee having a power trip and not knowing what shes doing.

Ive played at this place off and on for over 16 years or so. (Well, not this location as its newer but within the company) today was a tipping point. Refs are refs, but the management really showed their incompetence. Theyve never been great, but they cant manage covid, or themselves to even a small level of intelligence. Their scheduling is brutal, rules are enforced when it generates money. Ive had enough, just wish there was competition to steer my business towards.

Awful. We signed up for Wednesday nights only. And they threw in 2 Friday games which we could not attend since we all work. So that was a waste of money and 2 forfeits for us! Management is awful, had a team member told that she shouldn’t play after 3 games because she wasn’t old enough. This should have been addressed the first game! We have also had 2 games moved to different times without notification. This screws up our team as we make plans according to the schedule. And no notification is bs. Rules are awful and sexist, girls get hurt because if a girl scores it’s worth 2. Sexist and dangerous. Refs do not explain calls, you have to pay a ref fee every game which is ridiculous, it should be included in the fee. The refs also play favorites and are awful. I love the game but I absolute hate dealing with this facility. Go to sports city.

The facility is nice and the fields are on par with the price paid for the league. However, the management understands that teams will continue to register despite numerous complaints about the quality of their officiating staff. The refs that sit in-between the two teams will regularly talk about all of the missed calls the center official has made but never address these concerns to the individual themself. This could be due to the fact that they do not want to appear to contradict a fellow employee or they just dont care enough about player satisfaction.

Been playing in Lets Play facilities for ~12 years, and Gardner Village is a great venue for indoor soccer and has excellent fields. Thats the only positive of this review however...Facility aside, players are regularly frustrated by officiating and general management and any feedback seemingly falls on deaf ears. Lets Play couldnt be bothered to respond or even acknowledge a recent email so Ill chat about it here:A major issue in game play is how the final minutes of games are managed. Unless a team is pushing the 6 foul limit, and outside of an actual penalty, there is nothing that stops the clock. If my team is up a goal and we have fouls to spare, whats to keep us from fouling like crazy to both stop the other team and keep that clock running? I understand the facility is on a schedule and Im not asking for you to incorporate stoppage time by any means, but cmon... this is garbage.Perfect example happened last night - my teammate fouled an opposing player, got blue carded for it (which was bogus), and wasted the last 50 seconds of the game standing over the ball, intentionally arguing with the ref and other players until the clock hit zero. Granted we were getting destroyed by 10+ and werent looking to protect a lead or anything (which is another topic, how do really good teams get away playing in division 5?Another review, perhaps....) but where did we learn to do this? In our game two weeks ago, pushing for an equalizer in the last minute of the game, we were blatantly fouled (cleaned out into a wall kind of foul) and quickly tried to set up for a free kick. In the time we got the ball and asked for space, the clock kept ticking and hit zero - No card for the foul, no free kick, just the end of the game. Surely were the only ones who would be frustrated with that, though. How about in the final two minutes of any game, the clock stops on any foul, and resumes upon the free kick? Or the clock stops until a carded player actually leaves the field? Otherwise, its a license to foul and/or blatantly delay game play, and thats a problem.Switching gears, but as everyone knows, the officiating here is wildly inconsistent. Refs are regularly on power trips and lose control of most games... youll get carded for something ridiculous in one game, have the same thing happen to you in the next and nothing happens. Seemingly refs have the power to call games at their discretion, and management supports their decisions every time. Kudos for having your employees backs, though.Cant imagine being a ref for adult sports is an appealing job, so I understand its a challenge and that there is a regular need to hire, but their lack of experience translates to the field and negatively influences games.Heres a final suggestion - give an incentive to teams to win their league. You used to do t-shirts, which was fun and all, but why not offer $100 off an upcoming team registration for division winners? Who says no?Ultimately, Lets Play is happy to take your money but doesnt care about your feedback. All in all, and fortunately for them, its the better of the two organizations in the Salt Lake valley and its an opportunity for a bunch of out of shape adults to play soccer... so thanks for that, I guess.

If you live on the south side of the Salt Lake Valley and are looking for an indoor soccer league, Let’s Play Soccer at Gardner Village is where it’s at! They are decently priced, you can choose to divide the team fee into each player or pay it all at once in a lump sum. There are referee fees prior to each game but it is only $12 per game. I love how organized they are. They communicate fairly well with game schedules and for upcoming registration for every season. Every game day they have your team’s roster on the counter of the side of the field you will be playing on to avoid any confusion. It is impossible to feel lost, there is always someone to assist you there. The facility is always clean including the restrooms. They have an onsite laundromat to keep all the scrimmage jerseys clean. There are also multiple garbage cans throughout the facility to ensure garbage doesn’t get left behind. The games always start on time and prompt. The staff is always so helpful and friendly. As a spectator you have a good view of the fields just about anywhere you sit. As a player the rules are laid out flat, there is no beating around the bush. The games are timed, and the referees are professional.Let’s Play Soccer at Gardner Village has different league options including; Men’s league, Women’s League and a Coed League. The minimum age to play is at least 18 years old and you must sign a waiver. The facility is open 7 days a week, so they schedule games for the different leagues every day of the week. Certain days of the week are dedicated to specific league types, that gives you the flexibility to have your options open and availability with your life. I started out with the women’s league and we used to play every Wednesday. The times they would schedule the games were also very reasonable. They considered the time of when everyone is getting off work. Now I play on Friday’s in a coed team which they also have games scheduled for the Men’s league, but like I said above everything runs smoothly because they are very organized. I highly recommend looking into Let’s Play Soccer at Gardner Village in West Jordan if you are looking to play recreational soccer!

I like the fields and the fact that you can wear Indoor, turf or Outdoor cleats. Refs are fine. Some are good some are OK. Youll find that anywhere. I tried Soccer City and we went back to Lets Pay Soccer because we didnt like the turf and refs at Soccer City.Although it would be nice if they took the extra $ at the beginning of the season for Ref Fees and held it for us for each game.

EDITED REVIEW:Ive played here for a few years. It’s fun to have a place to play, and the field is nice, but there are some frustrations.1. They recently decreased the game time length, I assume to fit more teams in to increase revenue, but kept the fees the same. On top of that, the length between games is very short, and they start the clock going before teams have a full chance to get swapped out. So you lose some time in your already shortened game.2. Late game time slots, as late as 11:20 on weeknights.3. The subbing policy is unclear and still hasn’t been finalized after many years. I have been told by employees that you can sub for teams in different leagues, then told by the manager that you can’t. Then I was recently told that you can’t sub for teams within the same league, even though I was allowed to do that in the past. Which is it guys, and why? No one can give a clear answer. I recently played a game with my team, then the next game right after was in our league and one of the teams had no guy subs and asked if I and another guy would play. Let’s Play wouldn’t let us, saying it wasn’t allowed, and couldn’t give a clear reason other than “it’s just the rules.” It made no sense. If your intent is to provide non-professional, adult rec players a fun, positive experience, what you are doing in a situation like that is the opposite. The team had less fun because they had no subs and were gassed the whole time, and we couldn’t get some additional playing in. If they would instead use some judgement in a situation like that and allow us to sub, everyone would have more fun, it literally wouldn’t harm anything, and you wouldn’t have your customers mad at you. Use some common sense, and establish a clear policy regarding subs that is clear and communicated to everyone. Being told different things by different employees on multiple occasions doesn’t reflect well on management.

*Within the last year they have made a few changes but I think it’s mainly because of COVID-19. Haven’t had double headers but last season we had two 11:20 games and a 10:30. The season before was two 10:30 and one 11:20.Their COVID-19 procedures have been great though to keep people safe.*(Original post)Ive been playing for about 10 years now with this place, and they dont ever listen to the feedback from the players. Of course there is always the problem anywhere you go where the refs arent great so Im not going to complain about that...1 - Stop scheduling double headers. I get you are trying to make money, but some of us are getting older and cant do that anymore without getting injured or having to take a whole week off to recover.2 - Stop scheduling our Monday games on Saturday, and our Tuesday games on Saturday. We ask to play on Mondays because that is the night that works best for us. When our team doesnt show up or the other one and we cant get it rescheduled we just lost out on $12 for ref fees and part of the money we put down to play for the season.3 - Do as you advertise and give us 50 minute games! Not a 50 minute time slot for refs to cry that they dont have fees and wont start until they get it. Just charge teams that amount upfront at the beginning of the season and pay them yourself! The system will become more efficient. Game is over, new players get on the field and start playing. No down time.4 - 10:30PM and especially 11:20PM games are the worst. If you didnt schedule so many double headers our teams wouldnt have to play that late. You could instead maybe do open play for anyone who wants to play for fun that night starting at 10:30 to midnight. Let people who actually want to play late to do it. The worst part is when you have 11:20 game one night, cant fall asleep until 2am, have to wake up at 6:30 for work so you can go in early and get off in time for your 5:30 game the next day. Just find another way to make money without ruining everyones sleep schedules... (OPEN PLAY!!)5 - Listen to us and change things up. I know Im not the only complaint about these things. I get it, you are a business and trying to make as much money as possible, but find other ways to make money with your facility.
