This place used to be a five-star barber shop. My last two beard trims were not good. I was most recently cleaned up by Fred and not only did he speed through the trimming, no hot towel or neck shave was provided like Ive had in the past. Also, his hands wreaked of cigarettes and it was very difficult to sit still while smelling the stench of his hands.

Always a stellar experience! Moen is a very skillful barber and offers a wide variety of services at this location. He might forget to ask if you need water like the courteous lady downstairs (lol) but provides a great experience regardless! Thank you for hooking it up every time!!

I booked this place based on the strong Google reviews and wasnt disappointed. Amanda was a total pro at shaping and cleaning up my beard. She gave me some good tips on how to dye my beard and even recommended some options for me as I live out of country. I will definitely come back to Dr. Beard the next time Im in L.A.

I don’t write a lot of reviews - but I was in LA from Europe and the service at Dr. Beard was exceptional. These guys did an amazing job, were able to magically fit me in when I was in a bind. I highly recommend.

I cant say enough good things about this shop and the folks there. Moen has been taking care of all of my hair needs for the last 3 years. Cuts are always quality, care is top notch.

The worst and most unprofessional establishment in the area. Had an appointment. Made me wait 20 minutes sayin I was the next guy. Then I come back and said I have to wait for another guy who is on his way. They run the place more like its a street pawn shop rather than a barber. I challenge these so called pathetic barbers to counter any of these claims that I have made.

I dont believe they are beard specialist. Selected for design services and I came home unsatisfied. What else could we do when the job goes wrong after they show you a mirror to see if it is ok.This was my first visit and will be my last visit.Dont let them do anything on your beard thinking they are specialist. THEY ARE NOT!!

This place looks nice and the barbers are nice people. Unfortunately what I got was a BUTCHERING! This barber injured my scalp several times in one sitting! As Im sitting there, visibly bleeding all around my head he decides to pretend it isnt happening at first.As the painful haircut went on and several products were slathered on to cover up the bleeding I realized there were no first aid procedures in place and they were just grabbing random shaving products.At some point I decided I couldnt take anymore and needed to go but the barber assured me I should finish the haircut.I let him finish - and heres the kicker - he went ahead and charged me full price.Already on the verge of tears, in pain and bleeding on my face and scalp, I just wanted to leave so I paid.$35 and now Ill need to also purchase first aid materials to care for my wounds for the next week to avoid infections.Part of the problem may be a lack of experience with coarse hair, which tells me this isnt the place for people of color who want short hair styles.I could understand a nik every now and then but this was multiple cuts and the entire sides and back of my head are in pain.Im most upset that I was charged after this traumatizing experience!

Great fade and beard trim

Moen is a very skilled barber and always gives a clean haircut and beard trim. I also really like the vibe and atmosphere in Dr Beard and always get greeted with a smile when I come in.

My go to place every 2-3 weeks. I found its very important to go to place with a straight edge razor license like a barber over a hair stylist. This place lines me up and is meticulous with making me look fresh.

VERY VERY EXPENSIVE.

I have been growing my beard for almost 2 years and I chose Dr. Beard because it seemed like a place where I could get my beard groomed without it getting cut. They cut over a year (AN ENTIRE YEAR) off my beard. They cut off over 3 inches for a “trim” after I specifically said I wanted to keep the length long. I honestly feel so bad about how I look, I’m just going to shave the beard off. I’ve been growing it for almost 2 years and it’s as long as it was after 6 months. This haircut was my first step into having a nice, full time beard and Now I have nothing to show for the last few years of me trying and it makes me really really sad.

Great barbershop in WeHo catering to men who want top shelf care.Two story open air shop with a classic retro vibe. Comfortable leather chairs, wood accents and hipster touches make this a great option along the main strip. The shop is wired with good sound and a bass heavy background soundtrack is typically on point. Abundant parking is a huge perk as there are both meter spots along the main drag as well as a shared lot in the back of the shop with a dozen or so spaces.Barbers on both levels will tend to your scruff with care. Ive seen all styles of men from upscale, buttoned down sharks to laid back fly surfing types roll out with a fresh style and swagger. While they handle beards and all manner of facial hair with flair, many of the men Ive seen here are clean shaven so dont expect anything but a welcoming vibe here for all comers.Prices are upscale barber salon level as this is not super cuts. Youll appreciate keeping your priorities in check both as you relax during the process and as the comments fly after. Ive broken some necks walking out of this shop and am so sorry not sorry for that.Walk-ins are typically handled or scheduled for later depending on volume but Id definitely recommend calling ahead to set up an appointment. The artists are on a rotating schedule so depending on your timing youll see different chairs in action. I can definitely recommend Moen as hes my go to but honestly all of the staff here give good hair.Hope sharing these details has been helpful for my fellow travelers looking for the best self care options in LA.

I moved to West Hollywood about a year ago and tried 5 or 6 different barbershops/barbers in the area before finding Moen at Dr. Beard. Today was my fourth cut with him and they have all been top quality (and at a fair price, especially compared to the rest of the area). Tourist trap!!The hairdresser was alright but charging $65 Dollars for what he did? I have short hair.. Never did someone in the city charged me more than 25$.And for what? For the kind of hair cut I got.Never going back there.
