Awful never again !! I had Tax preparer Pamela do my taxes she totally messed up. My taxes was held up due to this mess. And when I called to speak with a manager he wasn’t any better like I stand with her on her mistake type of thing. I have been dealing with Hr for years and this is the year my regular tax preparer changed location and I wasn’t aware so I trusted she would be ok !!!! Not the case! The entire location has lost a long time customer

I visited this H&R Block location after I received an audit letter from the MA Dept of Revenue saying I owed $1,200 in unpaid taxes. Long story short, I had a complicated tax situation back in 2016 where I was a Part Year Resident of both CT and MA, while holding a job in CT the entire time. I took the 2016 taxes to a brick and mortar H&R Block in MA to ensure they were done right. It turns out the original tax advisor in MA errantly filed my residency back in 2016, so I visited the West Hartford location to sort it out since I am now local to the area. The analyst I worked with here had no clue what steps to take to fix how they were originally filed and sent me on my way by suggesting I just cut a $1,000 check to MA - in the process she fixed my residency but took away a Credit for paying taxes to another jurisdiction, leaving me with a $1,000 balance. Her and one of the accountants there suggested taxpayers who work in another state than they live DO NOT get credit for their home state taxes. When I challenged the double taxation and got nowhere, I took my documents and left.I visited another location in Enfield and thankfully I met another analyst who went above and beyond. She put the time in to actually correct the error, consult with outside resources, and fill out the audit response letter. She even found mistakes on my CT return that were overlooked by the West Hartford location. In all, the final result was a $60 combined refund from both states. Somehow, this is the same return West Hartford indicated I still owed $1,000 on. Proceed with caution here...

Pam Griffin has been doing our taxes for a few years now and she has done a really great job. However, it is very irritatiing that you reward new clients and ignore the loyal ones unless we bring you business.

Scheduled online and was told when I got to the office, they had no record despite my email confirm. I added all my docs online and the tax pro couldnt find them and said I was the first person all year in their office to use it. Also only found out the cost was $400 at the end of the process when I thought and expected it was going to be $150.*Edit - The number provided in their response is to their general customer service line, so after explaining to three more people all the issues with my experience, a second complaint was submitted on my behalf thats allegedly going to be reviewed by senior management, which appears to mean they get dumped in a database and forgotten about.
