POOR COMMUNICATIONS! i was a previous customer, as they rebuilt my chimney many years ago. At that time it was suggested I have the chimney waterproofed after 10 years. That time came so I reached out to schedule this work as I like to continue relationships with companies that provided me with quality service. I called and provided all requested contact information and was told I would be contacted. The week went by with no contact until Friday afternoon when another office staff called and said they were too busy to come out and could I send photos. I did this and it has now been nearly two weeks with no contact. Apparently, existing relationships do not matter with this company as they do with me. I would have been less unhappy if I was told upfront they did not want my small job. I have since moved onto scheduling the work with another chimney company.

I am very pleased with the service of Northeastern Chimney Sweeps. I have an older bungalow with two chimneys with a river rock face whose mortar had eroded and the chimneys were showing signs of leaking and water damage. First of all, Northeastern was one of the few that would even come out and look at the job - many wouldnt even touch it because it was river rock and not stone or brick. I paid for the inspection which was very thorough and showed the damage with detailed photos (it was pretty bad) and the inspector explained both the damage and the process by which it would be repaired. I scheduled the repair - a few weeks out due to other jobs. I was called a few days prior to confirm the appointment. The guys showed up on time, were very polite and respectful of the property. They set up scaffolding, being very respectful of the gardens beneath them. They worked in extremely brutal conditions (heat and humidity) without a complaint. They cleaned up every day and only asked to use our hose for water. In two days, they were done with the grinding and new mortar application. A few weeks later, they came back to waterproof both chimneys. Again the appointment was confirmed by their office (who was also a pleasure to deal with). They quickly waterproofed both chimneys and were on their way. Fast forward a few weeks to Tropical Storm Henri. A lot of wind and heavy rain. and not one drip or leak from either chimney. I am more than satisfied with their work and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for chimney repair.

It was a great experience working with Dave and his team. They tore down and rebuilt the interior of the center chimney of our 1813 house, and added liners for 3 fireplaces and a furnace. Every one was professional and courteous and their experience was obvious. Working in a vintage house can bring unforeseen issues, but they took care of everything, and the masonry work was excellent. Being respectful of the house, everything was carefully left as when the job started. The undertaking was a complete success.

I contacted Northeastern Chimney to clean our chimney flues and give an estimate on any repairs that were needed as we had just purchased an historic home. The first sign of trouble was when they did not show up for the scheduled appointment when they said they would. No call to cancel or reschedule, just didn’t show up. I had to call them to find out what was going on. I should have known then to look elsewhere but gave them the benefit of the doubt.After a few more weeks they showed up to the rescheduled appointment time. Not only did they not clean any of the chimneys, they simply did what they called an “inspection” and charged us $250. On top of that the gentlemen that came out said they were not able to give an estimate on repairs because our house was historic and they needed to have another person on their team come out to look at it. These gentlemen did not come prepared as they did not even access the roof. More weeks went by as they scheduled and then cancelled and then rescheduled their “specialist” to come look at our chimneys until I finally ate the cost and told them I would no longer do business with them.I can’t speak to the quality of work that this company does because frankly they didn’t even do any work at my property. But I was still charged and wasted a few months in the process with their disorganization and unprofessionalism in scheduling. My recommendation is for folks to look elsewhere.Update: I had a different chimney company come out within a week and provide a free estimate for all the work I wanted done.

Scheduled and confirmed an appointment for a sweeping and inspection. The day came and no show/no call. I tried calling but got connected to voice mail. No response to my voicemail either. Pretty upset I wasted a Saturday waiting around my home for nothing. I did call the following Monday to see what happened but never got an answer as to why my appointment was blown off. Would not recommend.

Northeastern Chimney recently installed a gas fireplace insert in my home. When I informed the business owner that I wanted to travel to California to see my daughter (whom I havent seen in a very long time), he expedited the installation so I could make travel plans. The staff that performed the installation were punctual, professional, and meticulous. I would definitely recommend Northeastern Chimney. I should also note that they previously installed a chimney liner for me in another chimney which eliminated roof stains caused by an improper installation done by another company. So I am a repeat satisfied customer.

I had my fireplace cleaned, chimney swept and chimney cap etc. examined for an estimate on repairs. I was VERY HAPPY and IMPRESSED with the service! They were very professional. The lead technician/engineer was dressed nice with a photo id badge, wore a face mask (properly) and put on fresh booties before entering my home. Things were explained thoroughly and questions answered. The assistant technician, also wore face mask and booties and was very courteous and helpful.After the service was performed, everything was itemized clearly on the invoice and again explained to me.I also liked that I didnt have to ask anyone to wear a face mask or booties. I liked seeing the photo id badge visibly placed.In this stressful time of Covid, I felt safe with having them come into my house and perform this service.

Beyond chimney cleaning, we have used Northeastern Chimney for two masonry/repair jobs. First was lining the chimney with a stainless steel pipe. Three bids. They were the only company who had a staffer go up on the roof and look down the chimney. Other two bidders stood on the ground and used binoculars. Guess who won the bid?Second, they rebuilt the firebox in the fireplace which had developed cracks over the years. Nice installation job, clean, with minimal disruption to our household.I highly recommend this company.

I have used Northeastern a couple of times, and they are professional, quick to respond and dedicated to performing quality work. I think the first time I called Northeastern was probably 10 years ago. They came after Id had smoke in my basement when we turned our furnace on in October. I had had a different company come previously and line my chimney with a metal pipe (like your dryer exhaust pipe). That first company didnt install the liner the right way, which was why I had smoke in my basement. Northeastern fixed the problem immediately, and I could rest easy knowing my house was safe. Ive used them ever since for any chimney issues or problems Ive had.

Ive been dealing with some water leakage around my chimney somewhere...a contracting company thought they knew what was wrong but after two attempts to fix it, they were lost.I called NC and scheduled a level 2 chimney inspection. Their technician, Tom, was absolutely tremendous. He was very thorough, and made sure I understood everything he was doing, and everything he found. On his recommendations, I scheduled work, and Tom returned with Mike. The two of them were machines. They got the work done quick and efficiently. Best part, after the work was done Ive seen no evidence of water leakage during the storms that have occurred.Office staff was helpful and courteous, everything was great. Highly recommend.

Northeastern Chimney was recommended to use by friends. We used them for our chimney cleaning. They called at least 15 minutes before their arrival time to let us know they would be arriving. Upon arrival, the representatives where very polite and professional. They provided us an estimate for work that needed to be done as part of the cleaning an inspection. We pushed the work off for a year. We called them to schedule the work and they came out to re-inspect to make sure that nothing had changed. Steve the rep called ahead of time, about 20 minutes to make sure that time was good for us. Upon arrival, he was polite and professional. He performed the inspection of the chimney and no new damage. He wrote up the new work order and was able to apply current discount offers which lowered the price. He went over the work order with me and explained what would be done. A very professional and polite business.

Steve and Andy were professional, thorough and personable. This was our first cleaning of a fireplace insert with Northeastern Chimney. But they did way more than just clean the fireplace insert and liner. They started in the basement with the flu of our oil burner and then went on the roof. Last year we had a chimney liner for our oil burner installed by someone else, and after inspecting it from the top Steve and Andy informed us that it was very poor workmanship that would cause us problems very soon. We liked that Steve took pictures of the problem. He said the connector is galvanized steel instead of stainless steel and showed us where it is already rusting. He said the entire liner could collapse if it rusted through. Then he clearly explained what a proper installation should be. At our request he gave us a proposal for a new chimney liner to be installed by Northeastern Chimney and gave us a very good deal. Both Steve and Andy said they felt bad that the people who installed the chimney liner last year would do such a poor job. We feel fortunate to have found Northeastern Chimney and know they will take good care of us and keep our home safe. We highly recommend them.

I like these guys. We used them the first year we moved into our house. They were very good but a tad pricey so I shopped around and found a cheaper company, but they had problems with scheduling, so then the next year another cheaper company. Those guys didnt even go up on the roof. I finally had the bright idea to go back to the company that was reliable and I was happy with in the first place. Very glad I did. I wont be switching again.

Gary and Raymond spent most of they rebuilding a portion of my chimney taking time to be sure all was done properly even though weather was rather cold. They cleaned all their work area and made sure I was satisfied with the outcome. Have used Northeastern Chimney for several years for annual cleaning and maintenance. They are always professional and do a great job. We have a wood stove which adds a bit more into the usual cleaning mix - no problem. Over the years, various service techs have made recommendations for work that needed to be done and we never felt that we were being sold a sales pitch, have found that the work recommended should be done, and there is no pressure to do more than is required. Our most recent tech, Stephen, was helpful and informative. We have some maintenance issues that need to be addressed this year, but the fact that our chimney, flues and wood stove have consistently given us no problems over the years speaks volumes as to the care and maintenance that Northeastern has provided to keep things running properly.

Just had three chimneys inspected and two cleaned. Technician is telling me there maybe some potential issues in all three fireplaces and they need to come back to do a video inspection. Will probably get a second opinion. I would have had more confidence in the feedback here if every reviewer didnt give this company 5-stars. Not one unhappy customer, really!?!??

Andy showed up on time and did a great job walking me through what he was doing and was thorough with the chimney and stove cleaning. I liked that he brought an inspection camera so we could see what the inside of the flue looked like. Flue didnt look good, but good to know. The last cleaning I had did not include that level of inspection. Glad to have used their services.

Andy from Northeastern Chimney gave my chimney a thorough inspection in the fireplace, in my basement to check the furnace and on the roof to check the chimneys exterior. He was very honest and made me aware of the issues my chimney currently has. He also was able to arrive earlier than expected and called beforehand to check if that was okay. Steve and Tom from Northeastern Chimney came to my rescue with a same day emergency call to remove a dead squirrel from the chimney. Their prompt response was much appreciated because the empty residence is for sale and potential buyers were complaining about a foul odor. They were pleasant, professional and thorough, laid down mats to protect the carpeting and provided advice about getting rid of any residual odors. I would highly recommend this company!

I originally called Nayaug Chimney and had no indication they had sold out to Northeastern. Tom who came almost a month ago was very nice and said we needed all sorts of work on our chimneys. We never got a quote that was promised. I called the office to follow up and was promised that I would get an answer the following day. That was several days ago. We paid for an inspection now we will have to pay for another inspection for someone to do the work.

Andy came to inspect and clean my chimney/fireplace today after it had been neglected it for several years. He was efficient and knowledgeable and was able to show me where repairs needed to be made. He was professional in his explanations and left the area where he worked clean. Would definitely recommend and will use Northeastern Chimney again.

Steve and Louis did a great job fixing a problem with our dryer vent. The vent was broken in several places leaving lint inside the our home. Steve and Louis fixed our potential fire hazard. They were very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.We had another company clean our dryer vent yearly and found that they did it incorrectly creating breakage in our vent.We have had Northeastern Chimney clean our fireplace as well. Always professional and knowledgeable.We recommend this company and will call on Steve to do our vent cleaning as we know he will take good care of us.

Steve was very professional and helpful, informing me of what he was doing and what he was finding during his inspection. Steve and Northeastern were able to accommodate my schedule and financing needs as unfortunately my chimney had been neglected for some time before I bought my home.They were on time to the appointment and provided fair pricing for the inspection.I am a little sticker-shocked by the cost to replace about 5 courses of brick on a 18 x 18 x 36 chimney and to install a new liner. Both jobs were completed in a matter of 3 hours by the crew that did the work, but it cost quite a bit. On the other hand, chimney and masonry work is often an area that is underestimated by the average consumer like myself.Nonetheless, the quality of Northeasterns work and customer service is excellent! If you are considering them for a new job, compare prices and come prepared to your estimating appointment. But be assured that their price comes with assurance that it will be done right the first time and that their crew is courteous, professional, and works safely.

On Saturday 8/29/15, Steven came to my house, a lil late but he gave me a courtesy call letting me know he would; which in my opinion is very considerate and professional. Nonetheless, he came to inspect a hole in my Chimney. When he came, I was a little nervous because the pervious company who came a couple weeks prior were a bit overwhelming when they relayed information to me. Steven inspected the area in the chimney and professionally articulated what needed to be done. He educated me of the hazardous issues I was facing. He was informative and truly concerned for my families well being; so much that he temporarily repaired the issue so we werent in harms way. He didnt try to scare or con me into immediately getting the work done with his company but he gave me information and pamphlets, so Im educated and understand the importance of getting it repaired (since Im a new homeowner). I felt so comfortable and relaxed ( even though this work was going to cost me an arm and leg). Im truly grateful he took pride in his work and was family oriented, but at the same time was about the business. As you all know, which is so rare to see these days. He worked on giving me a some discounts and didnt make me feel obligated to get the work done immediately. Im truly grateful for this customer service and going above and beyond for this estimate!
