The ONLY legitimate agency in our area...I am a former model & understand how agencies should work. When I moved back & heard a friend was taking their son to meet Steve at Peak, I did a background check (assuming it wasn’t going to be on the up & up). I looked at Peak, and all of the other agencies listed. Peak is the real deal, Steve the owner is honest, loyal, has integrity & protects his talent. Steve doesn’t make money unless his models/actors=talent makes money, which is how an agency SHOULD WORK! The other agencies ask their talent FOR money, they say it’s to be on their “roster” (what?) & to represent them? This is your first sign of a scam agency, so RUN if they start asking you for money! Now keep in mind, for some people newly starting, there will be minimal costs like paying a photographer to take photos of you (this is separate from the agency). You also need to hone/practice/learn your craft. If you want to be an actor, take acting lessons, if you want to be a model, seek out a reputable coach who has actually modeled. Learn the business & know you must practice before you go to a paying job. Modeling is a real gamble, but for those who make it, the possiblities are quite life-altering! Always do searches, checks, google ANYONE you are going to do business with, if they are credited (even better!) & check with the BBB for any negative reports! Be safe & seek “good” representation b/c they will watch over you. ANYTHING that seems too good to be true, any promises that seem to grand to imagine...you’ll always find it’s a hoax! Even Steve would say to the most promising talent “you may have a chance” & then explain the work it entails to get to the highest placement possible. IF anyone says “you’ll be a star” RUN, that stuff only happens in the movies! This is a business where people can really scam others (there’s not enough legislation/laws), so please research, call, ask legitimate people for recommendations & listen to your gut! If something doesn’t seem right, it usually isn’t! If you’re going to work with a new or unknown photographer/coach/entity DO a check, bring a friend, ask many questions, have a friend/parent speak to this person & get all info on them...if this person has a problem answering, then don’t do it!
