I’ve struggled for years, had Drs who tried their best. I finally found a dr who gets me, listens, doesn’t just try to fix me with meds, and really takes time and cares. I know he spent over two hours with my insurance company on the phone to make sure it was approved by my insurance. This is the dr you want, if you want to enjoy life again. Like me.

Everyone at this office is very helpful and very friendly! Dr Koithan is extremely easy to talk too and I highly recommend him!

Ive been going to Dr Koithan for a while now and hes been really helpful. Hes good at hearing you out and hes eager to help. Ive really benefited from his service. He takes the time to explain what meds or treatment he recommends and if something doesnt work hes really good at offering other suggestions. I would recommend him.

Love Dr Koithan, he takes the time to listen, and I feel he truly understands and cares that my mental health is stable and productive.

Dr. Koithan is a super-nice guy, hes a good conversationalist, and hes good at explaining the science of his practice in a way that laypeople can understand. Ive been seeing him for over 2 years, and Id recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Koithan is a good listener, asked many questions on my first visit, adjusted my medicine, set up a follow up appointment to make sure medicine was working and was interested in my personal life. I’ve been to him several times and he has been very helpful and is easy to talk to. I’m grateful to have him as my Doctor.

I waited months to see Dr. Koithan and the entire time had a very difficult time opening up to him. He seems very impersonal. Shuffles you in and out as quickly as possible. I was so desperate to find someone to help w/ medication management I just stuck it out w/ seeing him. I showed up to every appointment on time, changed MY SCHEDULE around for him on occasion, missed one appointment and was going to be charged over $100. I dont recommend him in the slightest. Iowas mental health care is a total joke - so lets punish patients by charging them missed appt. fees even when the patient has willingly changed their appt. time around for a doctor in the past. Keep looking for another doctor or youll regret it like myself.

Dr. Koithan is always friendly and listens to my concerns. The staff is always nice and Koithan s office looks really cool with the fish tanks and various items. They make me feel comfortable when Im there.

Should receive zero stars. There are bad doctors, and then there is this guy. I have never received such terrible healthcare in my life. Complete waste of time and the Dr could not have been more rude, arrogant and insensitive. Hopefully your mental stability is in tact after being belittled and told by this so called professional. Listen to the rest of the bad reviews out there on him. They are true and very real. Do not put your mental wellbeing at risk by seeing him.

Dr. Tom is a very kind and talented Psychiatrist who you can tell cares about his patients. I have worked for Dr. Tom and hes a great guy. His new office is run very efficiently and is located in a convenient location no matter where you live within the Des Moines metropolitan area.

Treated me and continues to listen to my needs and help me continue a path of medication that benefits me greatly. My fiancée although hesitant at first has seen the great changes resulting from having a doctor who is willing to help. Staff is patient and friendly. Thank you.

Dr. Koithan is extremely arrogant, misleading, and pretty much just looking for your money. Take heed to this warning, please.Also, when I canceled my appointment I was hung up on. Don’t go here.

Terrible Dr. Appointments last less than 10 minutes and he charges outrageous prices. Doesnt make any effort to see patients in a crisis and does not return phone calls. The worst Dr in Des Moines

Dr. Koithan is a good doctor who by far doesnt push pills, medication on patients and likes to ask the right amount of questions to ensure what is needed, is what is prescribed.

Do not waste your time on this doctor. When I arrived for my first visit I was lied to about my appointment time and rescheduled. When I showed up to my 2nd appointment I was informed that my appointment had been cancelled, but I did not get a message or have any missed calls. A huge waste of time when I could have been making an appointment with another doctor.

Dr. Koithan is an excellent doctor.
