Let me start off by saying I have never been treated at Sanare. With that being said I can not rave enough about Mike Smolenski. I saw Mike off and on as a teenager in a very tough time in my life. I have seen and been treated by several therapists through the years and Mike is a guy that has really stuck out. In a profession where some become complacent and turn into “yes men” Mike really relates to us. He never pushed or pried at things that weren’t there and conversation flowed naturally like I was sitting at a bar with a friend. I still to this day as a 26 year old adult call Mike every so often to let him know I’m still alive and doing well. Thanks for the years of service Mike!

I was not a client at Sanare. But I am a therapist who has sent clients to various intensive outpatient programs. My clients have gotten the best care at Sanare, under Charlies care. Very comfortable, informative, insightful, friendly, not wierd, Is what Ive heard, gathered and believe. Im happy to highly recommend this place of treatment. 👍🏼

I competed the IOP program at Sanare Today recently and I wish I would have done it years ago. The amount of knowledge I gained to help me with my anxiety and depression is priceless. I was hesitant to do group therapy but I was wrong. Between the therapist and group members, I was validated in my feelings, and the care, honesty, and respect that was shown in our group was amazing. Listening to others perspectives and knowledge who are suffering from the same issues as me helped so much. They took care of all of my insurance claims and correspondence and my leave from work so I did not need to worry about it. If you are suffering from anxiety and depression, please seriously consider Sanare Today. I feel 100% better and in control because of what I learned in this program.

Honestly not sure how to feel about my experience here. It was helpful to have a group I could come to several days a week, but the therapy itself wasn’t necessarily great. It focused too much on concepts (spiritual ones to be specific) rather than taking action. My therapist largely ignored some symptoms I had that ended up devolving into a more serious mental illness. Overall, I’ve had better therapy but not a total waste.

I suppose if you’re not too sick, this place might be OK. But if you need more attention than the co-pay plus insurance payment justifies, they may, as they did my wife, simply tell you not to come back. My wife attended group here for three weeks at a 65.00 copay per day. Perhaps, she sent them too many emails... perhaps she used up too much energy. Perhaps she was simply too sick for them. In any event, they said she needed more intensive care and asked her not to come back. They didn’t care that her depression coupled with her energy levels wouldn’t allow for day long, more intensive care. They didn’t care to reach out to me to consult. They didn’t even get to know her. She wasn’t disruptive. She’s physically and emotionally limited. What they did know, is that our $65.00 co pay plus the insurance payment of $17.00 simply didn’t justify the effort. Bottom line IMO, is the money drives the practice. If it’s compassion and empathy you seek, please be warned, that it comes with an accountants reconciliation. Help here, it seems to me, is based on their financial gain. It is not so much out reach for a patients benefit as it is out reach to your bank account. Seems like their standard of living and work load are more important to them than a patients well being. Otherwise, why not call me? Why not be sure a semblance of support is assured? In our case, it was simply, “you need more care, Bye Bye”. They may leave you, like they did us, just leave you without a direction, but with $750.00 less in your bank account. Not enough compassion here to deal with people in crisis.

Started an IOP group with Kim. Four nights later all she was interested in was my husbands condition and never asked how I was feeling. After a few “check ins” it became apparent that my feelings were not ok and I had to retell how I felt in a different way. I left abruptly after becoming very frustrated. I called to say I wouldn’t be returning no follow up or concern for me occurred. I wouldn’t recommend this group to anyone as discussion of absent clients also happened.

I am truly grateful for the help I received at Sanare Today. After 25+ years of searching I finally received the kind of help that actually explained how the mind works and taught me the techniques to work through my issues and resolve them.
