West Chester PA is my home club. It’s a great place to get in and get it done. The location is convenient and parking is never an issue. I love having the Black Card as I often drive to nearby towns for work. When I have a gap between appointments, it’s great to hop in a nearby club, get a workout and shower, then head to the next appointment. It’s hard to beat the value.

I really like this planet fitness. Clean, gym members pick up after themselves and keep equipment in the right places, not a bro gym, staff is friendly. I feel welcomed at this gym

This is a great place to work out at. Great atmosphere, and great equipment. The only thing I have to say is I wish they were open 24/5 again. I work a day job so I only get to work out after work at night on the days they are 24 hours. Which is only 3 days out of the week. I don’t even always get to go on those days. More open days would be beneficial for both parties in my opinion.

Finally got back today. It’s been over one year since I have been in because of COVID. I am a black card member and since I have gained at least 25 lbs this past year. I am so glad to be back. I felt safe because of the social distancing way you use equipment. Also noticed all members cleaning their stations when done. The staff is amazing with answering questions too. Thanks. Excited to get back.

I enjoy going to my Planet Fitness. The employees are always pleasant. My only negative is that the water fountain has been broken for the last couple of weeks.

Looks like Planet Fitness is going to be 24/5 instead of 24/7. This is Post Covid. They should probably decrease their monthly fee, since many people signed up thinking this was a 24/7 gym. The early closing on Friday thru the weekend just doesnt work for everybody.

This is the third planet Fitness Ive been to. For me its relatively standard in terms of what Ive come to expect from PF. Purple machines, more cardio than weights, solo workouts in the cardio area, more groups in the weight area (in other words, a lot of people who are not social fitnessing as the signs ask you to do). I wish there was a little more space between some of the machines and the weight area, I felt like people were a little too close together, but it might have been that there were a lot of packs of men in there at the same time.It wasnt super clean - Im pretty sure members are wiping down after use (at least, I am) but some of the machines had dirt and grime in crevices, which makes me question how thoroughly this gym is being cleaned. When I was in college there was a pink eye breakout amongst people who took the spin class - so I do keep high expectations for gym cleanliness. Id use this gym but Im also spending time wiping stuff down, and when I have the time to, its before and after machine use.One of the reasons I opted for the black card was because I like being able to use the most convenient location and I really liked using the hydromassage at another gym after workouts. At the Malvern PF location, hydromassage beds are in their own private room. At this location, they are not. I didnt have the time to use them that day, but I didnt see any accessible spray bottles and paper towels. I also like to use the total body enhancement having read about the benefits of red light therapy prior to joining. This location has their machine in a private room which I was hoping meant that there would be cleaner and paper towels - nope. So while massage beds are used fully clothed and the total body enhancement is used at your comfort level - your hands should be the only thing to touch anything, Im not sure how clean these are kept and they certainly havent added cleaning supplies for members to wipe down if they like. (there is hand sanitizer though so thats something).I did not use the tanning beds, but in walking back to the total body enhancement machine, I saw many rooms of lie - down tanning beds, no vertical ones.This black card spa has to have the highest ratio of tanning beds to everything else that Ive ever seen, so probably a great location if thats what youre going for.

I have been a member since PF opened in Westtown. Overall, its a good gym. Not great. But, good enough. Equipment is good. I like the treadmills and the ellipticals....a lot!! But, they only have 2 of certain weight machines and they really need 2. Shouldnt have to wait 10-15 minutes to use a fly or tricep machine. Having 2 would help alleviate that. Hours were great before the Pandemic. But, therein lies the rub. Note that I am in the gym 3-4 nights a week around 9:30/10PM,and usually at least one afternoon during the weekend, around 5:30PM.I understand why they cut hours back in June when they initially reopened after the first pandemic shutdown. And I understand why they kept them reduced through the end of the year. No problems with any of that. But, since they reopened on January 4, 2021, there is absolutely no excuse for closing at 10PM on Friday and 7PM on Saturdays and Sundays. They were open for 3 years 24/362. Now, all of a sudden, they cant even stay open till Midnight on a Friday and 8 or 9 on a Saturday and Sunday?Gimmee a break!! Its all about keeping their staffing costs lowered and continuing to charge the same monthly fee. They make more that way. Open the hours up more, with a published plan on going back to 24/7, or remove the 24/7 notifications and quit advertising as a 24/7 gym. You clearly are not...and havent been for well over a year.I also dont understand exactly what the attendants are doing, other than standing around the desk area glued to their phones, talking to each other. and sometime greeting members when they come in and do a self checkin! I seldem see any of the attendants actually out circulating around the gym when I am there. During the duration of the pandemic, nobody, with the exception of Daniel, who works late evenings, showed any interest in asking the plethora of almost exclusively young members to wear their masks properly, or in some case to just wear a mask at all. I never saw anyone get approached during any of my times in the gym in the last year + and be asked to mask up, per the posted requirements, by anyone other than Daniel. Isnt that part of their current job description?Speaking of Daniel, I want to commend him. The guy works his tail off cleaning on his shift. I very seldom see him behind the desk for more than 5 minutes at a time. But, I see him out on the floor vacuuming, wiping equipment down, filling spray bottles, replacing paper towel rolls, and cleaning up the mess members leave behind because they cant clean up after themselves. And, hes friendly to talk to and helpful if you need something. Hes a good employee! I just wish more of the day attendants were actively out walking around the floor. Isnt that part of their job description.I do enjoy the location of the gym. Its less than 5 minutes from my house. And, as I said early in this review, the equipment is good and the hours used to be great! They could be again, or at least much better, if management would look around and see that everything is opening up to more normal hours. Keep the mask policy for as long as you feel its necessary and actually doing something productive. But, please open the hours up....NOW!

Really a good gym. No problems there. But when quitting, we are having lots of problems. You can join online, but you have to quit in person. And then the first paper is lost, (happened twice) you get billed again. Then you have to go back and quit again. Really not a good experience.3/17/21 Update - still paying for one of the two of us. How many times do we have to go there in person to quit?!

Nice, clean and affordable gym. But their use of space for the building isn’t very good and weight machine to cardio machines ratio is unequal. I spend to much time waiting around to use weight machines. Could use more smith machines or benches.

I enjoy PF but was quite disappointed when I got there tonight and they were closed. Why does the sign on the door say open 24 hours a day 7 days a week?

I visit every morning around 4 am except for Sundays. I enjoy the atmosphere and the no judgment zone. Catch me on the treadmill, dancing to the latest upbeat music from Steve Angello, Cece Penniston and Jody Watley.

Gym is very clean and has ample equipment that is well maintained.

I have always felt welcomed and very comfortable at PF. The place is immaculately clean at all times and they keep the equipment in good condition. I love the massage table at the end of a workout. Would highly recommend PF.

I went to this gym for several years, 5 days at week at some points. It was always clean, and the staff was always super friendly. Not sure how things are now after Covid, but as far as price to amenities, I would choose here over the LA Fitness in West Chester. Not sure if Ill ever go back, as I no longer work in that area, but I would if I did.

Sure that machine you like has been broken for a week, but it’s $10/month. Sure the water fountain isn’t working today, but it’s $10/month. Sure on Mondays all the treadmills are taken, but it’s $10/month. #yougetwhatyoupayfor🤷

Nope. During COVID, things are complicated and really I think most people understand that. I called the club two months ago maybe because I saw they were getting ready to open back up. The girl on the phone told me that she thought they were going to let us know something definite before charging us. I got charged my yearly fee, I called to say I couldn’t come back, as I am a nurse who works with COVID patients. The manager seemed to understand the situation and said please email me so we can get this handled. I did, I called twice to corporate, I emailed again. I still haven’t heard anything and this morning they are STILL pulling money from m bank account. I called again today... really? It’s a pandemic. Can you not use the phone?Update: the manager has gotten back to me very quick this morning and really shown a lot of understanding. Let’s hope this sorts it self out in a day or two.

Overall not bad, clean facility

I love everything about this gym except that I tried to freeze my account and talked to someone on the phone and he assured me it was frozen and then I got charged again for the following month. I called to explain that I had frozen it weeks before and they told me they could freeze it now, but wouldnt refund me for the month I was charged for that I shouldnt have been. Im very disappointed in the customer service.

I try to go early to avoid contact during covid. And the music is so loud with no one there I get a little annoid with the look when I ask to have it turned down. Most people have their own music plus being so empty the sound just reverberates.Other than that people are masked up keep a distance apart.

My son and I are always greeted with a smile from the front desk staff and someone always says goodbye and have a nice day. The gym is clean and we feel comfortable working out here. When we dont know how to use a piece of equipment, we always ask and someone always assists us.

It is not too bad. Place is relatively clean, with a good amount of machines (although there should be additions for popular ones). Staff are generally friendly and I like using the lockers with codes built into them. It may be slightly smaller than some of the other gym locations though. Also, the water fountains have not been working properly for months (water flow too slow) even though the staff are aware of it.

Planet fitness is awesome. Very clean and the staff is very friendly. Its close to my house and I see all my friends there . Planet fitness is helping me get in shape for summer. Thanks tou guys are awesome!!!

Great place to work out if you are a motivated person, and not needing all the bells and whistles, of say, a YMCA. (Not that I dont like the YMCA.)Bathrooms could be a bit cleaner. Weekday staff have always been welcoming and friendly. Cant beat the price. Always plenty of equipment, never have to wait for a machine.

Tried to get rid of my membership cause of Covid-19 and they where absolutely no help until they reopened charging me $33 instead of my $19.99 for membership fees watch out I guess they have no problem just taking money out of your account

This is a great gym for the price. There are plenty of machines to accommodate even the busiest times. The locker rooms and equipment are usually clean as well despite the amount of people that come. The only problem is that the stretching/bodyweight workout space is too small. There should definitely be a bigger area for people who dont want to use the machines. Otherwise it is a great value!

You always get greeted when you go in here. The temperature is never too hot when you work out. Always clean.

I love coming to this PF. It’s always clean and ready for me when I come in at 3:00AM — thanks to Rob. He is very nice to everyone who walks through the doors. The gym is very clean and recently added more equipment (always a plus) since it gets busy. I love starting my day off here :)

Great for a no frills workout. Staff is fantastic. Ive been going with my c-worker for a few weeks and when he wasnt there with me they asked how he was. Then when he came back, asked if he was feeling better. Like all fitness type places, read the fine print. Not bad, but there are yearly and cancellation fees. Even with that, it is a great value.

Friendly and attentive staff! All areas are kept clean, equipment kept up to date with repairs completed quickly. There is a large variety of equipment and even at the busiest of times you can always find some equipment to work with. You really can’t be the value. Highly recommended!

Deceptive pricing schemes stemming from COVID-19. Employee lied about sending an email notifying people of the opportunity to cancel membership. Still charged people an annual membership fee, even though they were closed for a quarter of the year.

This may not matter for everyone, but it is really important for me since Im an early morning exerciser. I take advantage of this by getting to the gym early every day, along with the ten or so people who are already there when I arrive. What I like about 24 hour fitness centers is that you dont have to plan your day around their hours, which makes it easy to avoid busy times. It also allows you to be a bit more spontaneous with your gym going. Maybe you just suddenly feel like going to work out at 9:30 at night.

Wonderful gym. Great service. Clean. The only thing missing is BOSU balls!

I’ve gone to the gym a few times so far and I like it very much. At the right times it’s not crowded. The machines are well taken care off and the staff is very friendly. I look forward to going again. Everything you need for a great workout is there.

Still havent replaces missing 17.5 lb bar (3 months) but otherwise very good gym.

All you need for a great workout without all the extras I dont need (sauna, pool, etc.) and dont want to pay for. Staff here is very friendly and helpful. Personal trainer is available to meet with. One year + going here and no complaints.

The staff is particularly friendly which I always appreciated early in the morning. Overall, it does the job, just dont expect too much.

As a member I go here often, obviously...but some of the staff could do with less socializing (riding scooters, hanging with buddies, etc.) and more engaging paying members.

They are doing a great job in the wake of this Covid crisis.

I like Planet fitness!!!I had a heart operation ( 2 stents put in) and they encouraged me to do cardio exercises, I had 30 sessions with Penn Medicine Cardio Rehab in W.C.,Then they encouraged me to turn to a fitness club to continue.I like the variety of cardio machines and I like the selection of good variety of regular muscle tone building machines,I try to do 1.5 hrs 3 times a week and will continue for a while.The people are nice and courteous all the time and my most important muscle, my heart muscle improved a lot, so I am very happy to say only good things about the Planet Fitness ClubPeter Verbovszky West Chester PA

Plenty of parking clean and convenient off major road.

You really cant beat planet fitness for the price. And though it gets crowded weekdays around 5:00, there generally isnt much of a wait for machines. My one suggestion is that it would be nice if you had a second fly machine. Since there are two exercises to do on this machine, people tend to be on it for quite awhile.

Best bang for the buck in a gym anywhere. Why arent you going here? The only other reason is if your going to a gym that is free. With that being said there is equipment that is absent that would be in a Golds Gym but you can make it work. Save money and use it for your kids college fund.

The facilities are still relatively new and clean. Machines seem well maintained and I rarely see any out of order. The place can get pretty crowded on weeknights, especially in the free weights section but people are generally nice and will let you rotate in. Overall, for 10 bucks a month, I really like it when I get the motivation to go.

You cant beat their hours and plenty of equipment available no matter what time of day. I live Planet Fitness!

Joined here a few months ago and so far, so good. I left the LA Fitness on Paoli Pike in West Chester due to pricing, dumbbells & barbell plates never being put back, and the overall cleanliness of the gym. Too often employees would be on their phones or talking amongst each other, when theres garbage lying around, equipment needing to be wiped down, or plates not returned. I do miss the basketball court, but that was another issue as it almost always was in need of floor cleaning and balls consistently deflated and/or in poor condition.Planet Fitness doesnt have some of the machines I liked, or a basketball court, but Im able to do my cardio and weight training without being inconvenienced by not having as many options as LA Fitness. More importantly for me though, they enforce that members return weights to their racks and wipe down their equipment, and Im extremely pleased with the overall cleanliness of the gym. Also, I like how the treadmills dont have TVs on the actual machine, but instead line the celling with them across the entire cardio training area. Its less claustrophobic and I like people able to look out and people watch. Overall, Id recommend the gym to anyone that doesnt value having a pool/basketball court and for $10 its an excellent value. Even if LA Fitness was $10 a month, Id still prefer Planet Fitness.

I joined this gym after being scammed big time by LA fitness. Planet Fitness is inexpensive, signing up is easy, there are no gimmicks and personal training is free.

The slowest water fountain of all time. The water fountain at the other planet fitness I go to fills my water bottle in seconds. At the West Chester location it takes 45 minutes. Ive never been able to fill my bottle as a line forms and I feel bad. Also a lot of the stuff is broken.

Been here for couple of months and i have been asking to fix the wifi like every other day. They have reset the thing million times.i would rather throw another 10 dollar a month if they provide wifi than using my phone data and paying overage..

Gym is ok, gets busy at times as expected.My biggest complaint is their wifi is terrible, at least 3 days a week its overloaded. I think the data on my phone is costing more than my membership.
