Kevin Gray and Star of David Chapel were amazing at helping my family to fulfill my fathers final wishes. My father had a New York State PrePlan originally setup with a different funeral home that went out of business. Kevin reviewed the PrePlan and agreed to fulfill my fathers wishes without any additional charges. He and his team ensured this process was easy and simple as possible while providing my family with flexibility to make any adjustments needed. I cannot say enough about how great and professional Kevin and his team are and I would recommend their services anytime - Thank you Kevin!

I cannot thank Andy Novak and the entire staff of Star of David enough for the kindness and compassion they showed throughout all my dealings with them. Every detail of the pre-planning arranged several years ago was carried out on the day of my 105 year old Moms funeral. Alone in the chapel on that day due to COVID concerns, I was treated with the utmost caring and respect and the drive to the NJ cemetery served to relax me thanks to the friendliness of the driver. Weeks later, Kevin Gray was most helpful when I called for some guidance in choosing a monument company. Star of David did everything possible to ease the pain and stress during a most difficult time.

My Family had previously used IJMorris for years, though they always have done a wonderful service for my family members the time they handled my mom I had noticed they had been bought out by a large conglomerate and some of the personnel were not Jewish and I felt they were out of touch so to speak with me . Dealing with Kevin from Star of David was truly a warm and caring experience and as his lititure states sensibly priced . He made me feel very comfortable and I highly recommend him and his staff .

Trusting, Respectful, and an overall great experience! Andy Novak, Kevin and all the staff were just amazing in helping deal with the loss of my adored Mom Toby in May 2019. Andy was absolutely amazing and a pleasure to deal with. He guided us every step of the way and was available via phone at any time for any question..and I had lots. There were no hidden fees as he laid out everything in detail up front. He was very compassionate, comforting and a true professional. We had the service in the Waters Chapel which is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Our own Rabbi cancelled on us a couple days before and Andy was able to get us a great Rabbi with no issue. Everything fell into place and Star of David came through in every aspect. I had set up the funeral arrangements a couple weeks before my Mom passed which was the best thing to do. It would have been much tougher if we had done it after the fact. Thanks again Andy and team at Star of David! My Mom would be proud and she was right to pick your establishment months before she passed.

My father passed on March 26, and I needed a funeral home that would take care of all the arrangements. My mother in law found Star of David, and Kevin Gray was kind, understanding and so helpful during this stressful and sad time. He took care of everything, and when I went there today to pick up dads remains and paperwork, we finally got to meet. He and Christine were so friendly, and they made the entire experience pleasant. Very professional service. Kevin Gray was comforting and dedicated, he took care of everything from the first call to the final goodbye and was very transparent and informative through the process. A death in the family is such a painful event, and the stress is compounded by the sudden need to arrange a funeral when you have no experience doing so. It was good to work with someone you can trust with the arrangements. Kevin was excellent and I highly recommend him and his company.

My father passed on Friday evening at 9:45 pm. All I had was a deed for family plot in a cemetery that I hadnt been to in over 40 years. When I looked up the cemetery, Star of David Memorial Chapel also showed up. Thank goodness. I called first thing Saturday morning. I spoke to Kevin Gray. He was on another call that asked if he could call me back. Within an hour Kevin call me. He asked a few questions and told me that we would be ready for a service on Sunday, Mothers Day, at noon. That was it. Star of David handled everything. Everything. For me, it was surreal. One phone call and Kevin took care of putting together a beautiful service. I cant say it enough, Star of David Memorial Chapel took a most difficult, stressful moment and made sure my father hd a beautiful and respectful service. I cant thank them enough.

No one is prepared for the loss of a loved one. Even knowing its coming doesnt make it any easier. We knew our mom was going to be leaving us soon but were not prepared when it happened.We called Star of David and Andy completely took care of everything. My mom was in New Jersey at the time at a nursing facility and we were scrambling to figure out our next move. The nursing home was calling and we were extremely stressed.One call to Andy and everything got easier. He simply asked for the nursing home phone number and took care of everything from that moment. At the time we were in route from Massachusetts to New Jersey and had it not been for Andy I am not sure what we would have done.My mom was brought to Long Island and we had a beautiful ceremony. All coordinated by Andy.These folks care and try to make everything as easy as possible.

Extremely positive experience during a terrible time in our lives. The owners and workers were all caring, professional, honest and open about all the details including the cost, which seemed fair and reasonable. Unfortunately Ive heard stories of other places taking advantage of people and overcharging them. Not my experience here. I recently worked with Star of David to handle the funeral planning for my father. While it is a stressful time, Star of David did an outstanding job of handling EVERY aspect of the planning. I made a single call and spoke with Andy Novak, who was invaluable. During the initial call, Andy asked me key questions and gave me the assurance everything would be taken care of. This was not a simple process, as my father passed in Dallas and the funeral needed to take place on Long Island. Andy handled EVERYTHING, including working with a Dallas-based funeral home and arranging for the transport of my father. Andy also brought to my attention that since my father served in the Navy, he was eligible for a military send-off, which I wasnt aware of. I dug up the discharge papers and Andy arranged everything. Everyone at the funeral commented that the military send-off was impactful and touching, included the flag ceremony. In retrospect, I can honestly say that there is NOT a single complaint or item that I wished wouldve been handled any differently. During one of the most stressful days of my life, Andy made it as easy and comforting as possible.

When my mom had to go to assisted living, we decided it would be best to pre-plan her funeral arrangements. I contacted Star of David since it is very close to the cemetery. I worked with Kevin who was very thorough in guiding me through the process. I didnt just take his word for it since I had time and I typically research everything thoroughly. Everything he told me seemed to check out in terms of services, costs, state regulations, etc. He explained to me the difference between revocable and non-revocable trust and I verified that everything was accurate. About 15 months later my mom passed. The pre-plan funeral arrangement turned out to be a very smart decision. I did not need to be burdened with any confusion or stress at the time of my mothers death. Everything about the services, the casket, transport, gratuities, arrangement with the cemetery, etc was already pre-selected and prepaid in advance during a time where I could best make those types of decisions. When my mom passed, I just called Kevin and he took care of everything just the way we specified it in the plan. Everything about the service was exactly the way we had planned and exactly what Kevin had promised and exactly what my mom would have wanted. He also made some good recommendations on restaurants in the area for after the funeral. We pretty much just had to show up, nothing else to do, and not $1 more than what we prepaid. They handled all the distribution of gratuities with the amount we specified at the time we pre-planned, I did not need to worry about anything. I would highly recommend Star of David for funeral services and would also highly recommend pre-planning to eliminate as much stress as possible during a very difficult time.

I have been to the Star of David Memorial Chapel(s) on more than two occasions.From the outstanding quality all of the funeral directors, and all of the managers provide to myself, my friends, and family, as well as the exceptionally well thought out layout of your Waters of Babylon, and Isiah chapels; I was never without comfort inside their establishment throughout my time of grieving.I also wanted to note that my uncle passed away this week (we opted to have a gravesite ceremony), and every member of The Star Of David Memorial Chapel managed to help me in my difficult situation with only the highest standard of professionalism. Ive been to other Funeral Chapels in Long Island, Ive seen the work that morticians have done, and Ive unfortunately left funerals with scarred memories of how poorly the mortician handled my family. Star Of David is the genuine article. My Uncle never in his life looked so good. I truly can not thank Kim for all of his talented and skilled work he performed on my Uncle.. As my father put it, He looked like a Prince. :-)They helped us in so many ways, I cant put it into a review.
