I took my car to Dans on the recommendation of a friend after learning my regular mechanic was booked out for 4 days.I was so pleasantly surprised.Both Tabitha and Sherry at the counter were kind and informative.Unfortunately, my Subaru needed more repairs than was worth the value of the car, but I was so impressed at how Bill went the extra mile on the diagnostics and did not try to push unnecessary and expensive repairs on me or just flat out lie.I have been bringing my other car there and have been so happy with the promptness of the service and the quality of the service.I am a big fan of the Team at Dans.I would definitely recommend them !!!

Previously, I had taken my vehicles to a big name retail shop (theyll get you with those credit cards...) About a year ago we had a big ticket item go out on our van. The retail shop gave us a quote that seemed very high, so I asked around and Dans was recommended to me. The quote from Dan was much more reasonable, and I have been very happy with the work done there since then.I like Dans for a couple of reasons: for one, its not just the name of the shop, Ive talked with Dan multiple times about my vehicles. He is invested in the day-to-day of the shop. I also like Dans because they dont throw the kitchen sink at you each time you are in for a repair. They let you know what needs to be done and how urgent it is.I would highly recommend Dans for amyone looking for a fair, trustworthy mechanic.

Dan is second to none. If you want an honest and professional person to not only take care of your car repairs the right way, but do it with integrity and concern go to Dans. He is contentions and his reputation is built on honesty and professionalism. He has diagnosed issues on warranty work that the dealership missed entirely. I seriously do not trust anyone but Dan with my car.

I went on a Saturday and they have a first come first serve, so it’s possible to actually get in. They only quote and repair based on the actual service manual for your vehicle. They charge $100/hr. If you are looking for someone to only charge for the work, this isn’t where you’d go. Just make sure you are happy with the quote. I had a job that was 30min in and out, and they charged for 2 hours work, but it’s what they gave for the estimate. They have a dedicated admin/phone person and everything goes quickly.

I have had several things done here. Bill has always explained what needed to be done and the cost. If there was a way to cut cost he would look for it. He has always been very polite and professional. Would recommend Dans Automotive to everyone.

Dans has been taking care of me for several years. I often get to speak with Junior and he is always helpful and accommodating. Everyone at Dans is always willing to go the extra mile. They provide fast service, do the requested work and often give courtesies beyond my requests. They top this off with the best price available.

All of my experiences at Dans Auto Service and Tire were absolutely AMAZING! Great people, great service and GREAT PRICES. Dan does such an amazing job working one on one with the customer explaining what is going on with your car and what the best possible solution may be. They are so generous when it comes to pricing and everything is done in a timely manner. I have never been to a car service with such great hospitality and prices. I live in MS and every time I am in STL I always go see Dan because no one has taken care of me like Dan has. Even sent me a $15 coupon! Dan does everything he can to make you and your car happy! :) 10 out of 10 recommend.

I like this place. Fairly priced and the service/owner are nice. Apparently this is a franchise but this one is independently owned, seperate from the others. One time I went in for an oil change and they noticed my rear brakes were worn. I knew that already and was going to replace the pads/rotors myself, I even had the parts in the trunk. For the heck of it i asked what it would cost for them to install them and he came back with a price I couldnt say no to. Weve been back a few times and service is consistent. They have a good system going. Recommended.

Dan’s Auto Services & Tire has been my go-to shop for the last 18 months. They were highly recommended to me by another shop that didn’t have a welder on-hand. Dan’s welder saved me $$$. A week ago my ABS & AWD light came on and Dan’s fixed it for a fraction of the Mazda Dealer quote. And my car was ready the same day. Friendly and very knowledgeable employees. Dan stopped by to ask me if I was happy with my service. Needless to say, I have found my new shop and will recommend them to my family.

HONEST ! 250 MILES FROM MY HOME ! my sister was in town for concert when her exhaust broke ! 12 other shops within 10 mile radius quoted $500 to over $700 to replace - Steve quoted $230 over the phone then got her in immediately diagnosed as repairable ! Took complete exhaust off and welded fixed what others diagnosed full replacement even though system is less than 2 years old - worked on for over 2 almost 3 hours while she waited and charged $160 plus tax ! Knowing she was 19 far from home and without many options they did what nobody else would and believe me she tried independent & franchise shops ! Car was without power and sounded horrible until they repaired ! Car is still running perfect! Car is in warranty also but no franchise store would get to it for a week ! I am so lucky we were able to find them and get the service nobody else would give us

I think they put Dex-cool in my sisters Toyota, which is the wrong type of coolant.

Weve been going here for years for oil changes and minor brake services etc. when it was Calverts and everything seemed reasonable until my last visit. Took my leaking run - flat tire to get repaired/replaced. Junior tried to coerce me into buying a replacement run flat tire for over $400, $100 more than the dealership by telling me that my car was not drivable after he took a razor blade out of the tire (run - flat tires can run for some time until they are completely flat and mine was not flat when I picked it up). I drove my car to the dealer instead and had the tire replaced with complimentary car wash for $300.I felt as though Junior tried to take advantage of the situation, even though he didnt end up charging me a diagnostic fee. I wasted 5 hours of my time with the ordeal including waiting for phone calls from Junior since there are no appointments on Saturdays.

These guys are very fair. They wont try to sell you something that you dont need just to make money. The folks at the counter are super friendly as well. I send a lot of people here because I trust this place will get the job done effectively and quickly.

My car had a problem with the coolant tank and so I took it to Calverts Express. The estimate was fair and the work was done quickly. However, when it came time to pay, the receptionist rang my card through incorrectly multiple times, despite me telling her she had to ring it through as a check and not credit. I wound up having to go to the bank and get the cash for it because she didnt know how to properly work the machine. It was a headache. A week after I got my car back, my coolant level light came on again. I took it back to the shop to have it fixed. They inspected it and realized the cap hadnt sealed properly, so they had to replace it. They were going to charge me an additional hundred and fifty dollars for the inspection and new cap, despite it being their fault it was faulty.Despite the initial unpleasant experience, my family decided to use them again for a second car that had an issue with the heating motor. Again, the price was fair and they did the work quickly. However, a year later the heat no longer works and after just taking it to a new shop for a secondary issue, the mechanic told us about the shoddy workmanship done previously on the car. Apparently, there were bolts left undone and nothing was tightened. We were lucky it wasnt a bigger issue. We will never again use this auto shop and urge everyone we know to stay far away. Not worth the couple bucks we saved.

Wonderful staff! Went to get my brakes replaced as they were running a special, the mechanic very quickly called me out to talk with him and informed me that he recommended not replacing the brakes yet as they were still in good condition. Saved me quite a bit of time and money when they could have easily just taken my money and not told me!

Calverts Express always has great, friendly service, Ive been going to them since I moved to the St. Louis area two years ago. They have quick and inexpensive oil changes and there are always coupons out there to use. I have recommended them to numerous people and will continue doing so!

We had to have a tire replaced because someone punctured it. Went to Calverts because we were pressed for time. They were quick with the service. However we only asked for one tire and only had a conversation about one tire. Junior took advantage of the fact that the person he spoke with was a young female. He replaced another tire without communicating and asking for permission. From other comments that I have read this is a common practice with this store. We are well aware of what our tires looked like and no other tire needed to be replaced. Junior assumed that she was naïve, female and young and took advantage of her. She is in the military and works in transportation, when she asked if they offered a military discount (something she is not in the habit of doing) Junior became defensive and smirked that he only makes a $2 profit of the tire. A simple No would have been suffice no other explanation was needed. We will not bring our vehicle or vehicles to the Rock Hill store again or any Calverts Express anywhere. Your business is to repair what is agreed upon and make suggestions if other repairs are needed. Not to take advantage or assume.

Family here for oil changes for a while because they were dirt cheap with coupon.Sold my dad an alternator and serpentine belt when he didnt need it. Price wasnt bad, but was a complete waste of money. The old one was fine and the old belt had maybe 30,000 miles on it.Will not go again and do not trust them. Some of them were very nice, others were disgusting and rude, they will rip you off.

I took a car there today for a pre-purchase inspection. My first time going there. They were awesome. I came in without an appointment, they immediately brought it in the bay, and even showed us what was wrong with the car. Im so glad I had them check it out. I will continue doing business with them.

Approximately 2 months ago 2 front tires and an alignment were purchased for my 2001 Hyundai XG300 from Calverts. I was told by Dan Calvert that the alignment could not be done due to horribly rusted parts that must be adjusted.Last week around 8/24/2015 this vehicle was taken to another service shop for safety and emissions testing ad required by the state of Missouri. The nation wide company where the vehicle was taken stated that the tires were showing cords and that the alignment wasnt done correctly. They replaced the 2 tires purchased from Calverts and correctly did the alignment.Since the vehicle has been in my possession I have not had any alignment issues.

Had some work done there the part failed that they used in less than three months they use the cheapest parts when I went in for the warranty to get it replaced they found a reason not to have it under warranty the owner does not keep his word

I feel bad because I wanted to submit this review a while ago. Calverts was very hospitable to me during my time of need. I needed an emissions and inspection on a very old vehicle of mine. I knew it would not pass emissions. Calverts came back and told me what needed to be fixed and gave me the price. After telling them my situation, they gave me a discount and offered to help me out if I needed to come back to have another car part installed for free. They also drove me home and picked me up when I needed transportation while my car was in the shop. They were very personable, understanding, and genuinely cared about helping me get my car to pass emissions. They even offered to get me a waiver. The bottom line: This is a trustworthy location.p.s. Everyone was so nice to me. The receptionist. The owner. The mechanics. Everyone.

Absolutely the WORST experiences at this shop. After my first visit they went ahead and made repairs without permission and charged me for it, even after I specifically told them not to before. Second time they sabatoged my vehicle after threatening not to return to their shop in the future. Awful business, their owner and manager were the worst you could ask for. A place to go for an inexpensive oil change

DO NOT GO HERE!I had my car towed in because I wasnt getting response when I pressed the gas. They said that the transmission was shot and quoted me for $4000. I said F$*% that and took it elsewhere. Turns out it was only the fuel pump and cost me less than $500. These guys are jokesters.

If i could give this place zero stars i would. Absolutely horrible, dont bring your car here unless you want to be completely screwed over and pay for things you dont need. I brought my car here to have my brakes done, simple, right? Hah, no. Not only did i spend 5 hours waiting for my car to be finished, i left with absolutely no breaks at all, oh AND spent a $130, again, to leave with NO breaks. Oh, AND was told that not only did i need new breaks and pads and rotors ALL around (which apparently costs $700) but NOW i need a new caliber. Had to tow the car to a REAL shop, only to find out, that NO, i didnt need new calibers, but in fact, the BREAKS WERE INSTALLED INCORRECTLY. What did the shop do? Took the pads and calibers off, and put them back on correctly. NO new parts needed. So, a good business would refund your money and the costs to fix their screw up, right??? HAH, NOT calverts. First the guy tries to work a deal on more work for the car (which is does need), HAH like i would ever let them touch my car again. Then he said, well you should have brought it back here and they would have fixed it. Question, why would i EVER bring my car back to get it fixed when, for one, you couldnt figure out what was wrong after 5 hours, and for two, were telling me i needed to fish out money for parts I DIDNT NEED. I told him i wanted a refund AND the money i had to pay to fix it, and he basically told me no, he would pay for labor only. THEN, icing on the cake people, Ms. LIZ, their fabulous cashier, gave me a huge attitude because apparently all sales are final and Im lucky i got anything back. Excuse me?!?! What kind of business are you running here???? Clearly, not a good one. I never once heard an apology for the terrible work they did, but their employees were nothing but rude to me, flipping me off and cussing me out as i was leaving, like i did something wrong. These people are crooks. OH, and by the way, the owners wife is an employee at mercy hospital, which i also happen to work there AND they were aware of this. Apparently, they dont take care of their own. So, anyone considering bringing your car here, i would run, and i would run fast. Do NOT let them touch your car.

My girlfriend took her car in for a estimate on getting the heat to work they wrote her out a $700 estimate on fixing the car. I then took it to another mechanic, everything they said that was wrong with the car is not correct and I was able to fix the car for under 200. this place is a rip off. Stay far far away from them
