They saved my sweet boys life. The staff was so kind to me and I am forever grateful. They walked me through every option I had and were very realistic to me about my options. The price was MORE than fair for emergency services. It’s amazing that I can not only save my baby’s life, I can afford to do it too.

Sitting in the parking lot with my cat and they refuse to even come put to look at her, as the only emergency vet hospital in this area, it is so very disappointing to see this lack of care. If you are going to be the only ones in the area to provide emergency services, turning dying animals away is not right. Not the first time weve had problems with this place either, very neglectful of my mothers chihuahua when she was there, gave the dog some antibiotics and called it good. It wasnt good, the dog almost died, thankfully Waynesville Animal Hospital provided the emergency surgery that stopped the infection from going into his brain. They wont look at or help your animals. DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE. THEY DO NOT CARE.

Came with an actual emergency at 8pm, something is wrong maybe a stroke? Was refused care, refused to even look at the cat. They said they were full, however there were only 3 other cars there. Was told to go to MedVet in Asheville, so I called MedVet and they told me they have a 8 hour wait period, and to go to Lake Junaluska Emergency vet, the woman was shocked when I told her we were in the Junaluska parking lot and they were refusing to even come and look at the animal. Shameful to be the only emergency provider in the area and deny to even look at the animal. Since covid this animal hospital has been going downhill, you cant go in the clinic yet, and they seem to use this to just turn people away. Seems more along the lines that yall wanting to leave at 10pm on the dot instead of providing care. Do not recommend this place at all.

I had to bring my very sick cat here late one evening. Emergency medical care is never a pleasant experience, whether for humans or pets; but Haywood Animal Emergency exceeded all of my expectations. I have worked at a specialty and emergency vet myself, so I understand how crazy things are behind the scenes. I was prepared to wait a couple hours before they had any specific info for me, but in less than an hour they knew exactly what was going on and had an estimate prepared. I felt confident in the vets assessment and plan of care. The facility was clean, comfortable, and seemed relatively new/up to date. Im grateful this hospital exists. I only wish it were a 24 hour facility, as weve had emergencies occur after 10p, and the extra time it takes to get to the vet ED in Asheville has been detrimental on at least one occasion. Overall, I highly recommend Haywood Animal Emergency.

Dr. Frankie was wonderful to work with and I really appreciated his follow-up, attentiveness to our dog Bobo, and thorough explanation of what he would need to do. He did a great job and so did all the other staff.

Super happy with his treatment and how quickly they took care of him especially after 5:00 p.m. Price of his meds and exam was very reasonable. A little over a year ago, we brought our beloved kitten to this vet. She was fatally injured, but we wanted to try to help. We got to them late on a Saturday night. They x-rayed RuRu, and determined that there was no hope, as her neck was broken. I dont remember the vets name, but he was very consoling. Before they put her to sleep, they made an impression of her paw, and gave it to us. A very nice thing to do at a difficult time for us. This is how ALL animal hospitals should be. Highly recommended.

On New Years Eve my beautiful chocolate lab Ruby became very sick. As soon as Haywood Animal Emergency opened, I brought her in on New Years day. The vet techs could see how distraught I was and immediately reassured me that the doctors would be in shortly. Dr. Mike came in to check on the building and his staff, due to the bad weather that day. He saw how upset I was, and, even though he was not on duty, came to Rubys rescue, analyzing lab results, taking her vital signs, and prescribing the correct treatment. ALL of the staff was understanding and calm, though I was not! They got out of their warm beds on a holiday morning in very bad driving conditions to get to the clinic to take care of the sick and injured animals in our community. We have a wonderful resource right on our doorsteps. I feel blessed to live in the same town as Dr. Mike and ALL the staff at Haywood Animal Emergency!

We had to put our kitty to sleep, everybody was so kind.
