It is a good gym but they need to expand. Good equipment for most everything but hardly anything for core. Even at 5am it is a bit crowded. 24hr access is almost a necessity for many work schedules, which this facility does not offer. Great otherwise.

Clean facility, lots of machines that are in great shape. Ladies restroom and shower facilities are clean as well. They have lots of different group exercise programs if that is your thing. I highly recommend Golds Gym. I wish they were open at 4 am since I have to be to work by 6 am.

This gym does not have a sauna nor a pool/whirlpool any more! That was some of the main reasons why I joined this gym! I could have just joined Planet Fitness for $10 a month for what I receive from this gym. But I will be looking at 24 Hours Fitness and LA Fitness for the amenities that I require after a good workout, since I cant receive it Golds gym anymore!

If you are looking for a basic gym membership, golds is for you. In my experience Im just here to work out and this location provides just that. Lots of space and different equipment. They are in the middle of updating the place so it has a very rugged feel to it but has working bathrooms and lockerooms. Front desk staff is super nice and friendly. Extra clean environment. Would definitely recommend golds. No swimming pool here but they do have general classes and cycle classes!

Always need to restock items. Namely, the toilet paper and paper towels. People are literally taking paper towels from the bathroom to use in the stalls. Meanwhile, there are two workers out front. Restock stuff, guys!

Canceled my membership Nov of 2019 after breaking my foot. I went to the front desk (in a cast) and was told no problem, just come back when it’s better. Been with Golds for years. I received a call from collections two months ago saying I owe them $260 for non payment of dues - AFTER I already canceled. I thought it was a mistake so I called the office and sent numerous emails to management trying to get help to clear it up. I would even pay the fraudulent charges just to keep it off my credit. Nobody offered help or a resolution. This fraudulent charge is now a black mark on my credit. P.S. I’ve never written a bad review in my life. Plenty of other honest gyms in the area. Don’t get trapped like me.

Recently moved to Waxahachi and wanted to check out this gym today, until I read the reviews, this place has so much bad reviews specifically with payments, contracts, and fees, I don’t want to deal with that mess. My last gym was 24 hour fitness, unfortunately there’s not one here, I never had a problem with them I cancelled my membership with them after 3 years and that was it. No fees no contract bs. For the ones that canceled where did y’all end up going? I need a gym ASAP! No contract or trainers bs just straight fitness.

Canceled my membership in November 2020. Was told on three separate occasions that my reason for ending my contract was significant enough that I would not have to pay the cancellation fee. On the third time after having to call multiple times the manager told me they would personally take care of it... well... I’ve since been charge three more times and have not heard a word. Golds was my favorite gym on the planet and I planned on going back as soon as I could. Not anymore. They lost me for sure and I will never be back nor will ever recommend it to anyone again.

RUN AWAY!!! We were loyal Golds customers for years. Then the pandemic began (mid March 2020). They gladly took our money for months while we stayed home. We finally canceled our credit card and tried to quit. First the manager did not return our call. Then they said it had to be in person. Yesterday my wife went in person. She gave them our new credit card number to settle any balance. They told her that only I could cancel the membership. I went today and they said the manager was at lunch (after 5:00 pm). I waited for his return. He told me that they would continue to charge the card number that my wife gave them. They purposely take you for all they can. They make it difficult to quit, then when you do they charge you for an extra month.

Stop and read. New and existing members.. Been a member for well over a year . Was paying near 50 with tax a month. It wasnt until I heard a walk in customer asking about prices that rates dropped to 25 a month and no annual fees . I was still paying full price . Golds should have dropped my fees down to 25 automatically. If your a member and did not know, well now you do . Go tell the gm to get you changed over to the new rates . They will not do it if you dont demand it .

Worst gym I’ve ever been a part of. Not only did I cancel my account a year ago they kept charging me. Apparently my card was “accidentally” placed on someone else’s account. And I forfeited my right to refund after not noticing for 90 days. So 600 dollars thrown away. And they refunded me 100 dollars. Place and staff are complete jokes. Highly do not recommend this gym. If customer service is high on the list then this place is definitely not for you. Big corporation who only cares about themselves!!!

I am so glad Golds has opened back up. I missed their facilities during the shutdown several months back. Ive been impressed by the increased cleaning protocols and respect for the mandatory mask policy of the staff. I appreciate the staff who help enforce the masks since there are so many members that refuse or blatantly dont wear masks. I see a lot of people leaving reviews of proposed victimization, but I have watched the managers walk through repeatedly asking members(independent of gender or age) to put masks on, only to observe members pull masks off once they are not being looked at. Whether you like the masks or not make it easy on yourself and them and help all of us by just putting your mask on in the first place, that way we can keep this Gym open during this pandemic and enjoy all the improvements theyre working on.

This company is a SCAM! They’ve been charging everyone thousands of dollars since the pandemic started yet they weren’t even open. Even started taking legal action against innocent people for the money THEY STOLE FROM THEM.Do not come here unless you want money stolen from you. Only way to stop them charging is by going to your bank. Changing cards won’t do anything, they’ll find that one too.

Was a great gym until the mask police came in. General manager is a joke, singled me out over not wearing a mask when half the people had their mask on their chin or on the neck. Never told me I had to leave or threaten to kick me out, I never threatened him and was calm when talking to him. He just doesn’t have balls to be a man himself and have a conversation. He then calls the police on me and they told me I was criminal trespassing and now I can’t go back. He didn’t do this to anybody else not wearing a mask

Same thing as other people posting about masks. Especially Brittany’s post. I had the exact thing happen to me. Doing cardio nobody around me. However, the guys working out in free weight section did not have masks on. Watched other people train in front of me with no mask on. Not sure why there isn’t a standard policy. I guess they want to lose more members. She didn’t seem to be bothered by me saying I would most likely be canceling my membership.

Im not one to write negative reviews and most certainly not for my favorite gym. However, the staff they had hired has no level of professionalism. I respect the rules for currently wearing a mask. Over half of the gym was not wearing a mask when I got to my station. It became unbearable to breath in it while running so I slid it down under my chin since no one was within 6ft of my station. An employee whom was a female late 40s-early 50s approached me directly and told me to put my mask on. I had my headphones on so I waived her that I got it. She then passes multiple men; younger muscular fit men, smiles in that direction and walks off. Noted; none of these men were wearing their masks either... on my way out I passed by two and asked if she had approached them, both said no. I then was a bit frustrated with this employee so I asked her directly why she would single me out, because Im a young female? Because they were decent looking and she didnt want to look bad? Highly unprofessional and I was disgusted by her immediate defense as if she did nothing wrong? She said they might have clearance. One, I personally know from the gym... he is not cleared for anything except being a gym junkie.. The disrespect and unprofessionalism of this experience has tipped the cake.Needless to say if you are going to workout, just dont talk to the employees, they wouldnt be of good service.

Tried to cancel a membership during COVID shutdown via email to corporate to inquire on how to do. Only a canned reply. No email notice of local gym reopening and then charging. Upon cancellation still required to pay another 30 days even though we tried to cancel earlier. Yes- signed agreement on enrollment but not having a way to cancel and then being required to pay for the 30 day period is not right. Was told we could have sent a certified letter during this time but if they dont answer the phone or reply to email-who is going to sign for it? Now I understand more of why they are in bankruptcy.

Excellent gym with decent pricing, friendly staff, and great group classes. I did the basic rate and got some personal training with Gerald. He helped me get into great shape and understand more about managing my own fitness. Id recommend this gym to anyone nearby just for the hot tub and cardio theatre. 10/10

First time visiting a Golds gym and I especially love this one. The equipment was well maintained, the staff was open and receptive, and the entire building was clean from top to bottom. Affordable, something was available for everyone. And I loved that there were all ages, sizes, and people of sorts doing their thing!

Thoroughly enjoy this gym. Good for anyone who is truly into weightlifting or getting into shape. I have no complaints about the monthly fee or being overcharged. I put 4 stars only because sometimes there is some annoying members (not much the gym can actually do about that)

Gold’s Gym in Waxahachie is a great gym with excellent equipment spread throughout so your not bumping into people. The only complaint I have is the movie room, they play the same movies over and over for weeks at a time. I will gladly donate my DVD collection if they need more movies.

What they tell you they will charge you and what they actually charge you will be different.Also when they say they will charge you next month, they mean to say they will charge you now and 30 days from now.If I would have known itd be this disingenuous to try to go to a gym for literally less than 30 days I would have just kept going to anytime.Cleanliness is pretty good.Honestly just avoid this place unless youre a permanent resident that wants a trainer.I should have listened to all the one star reviews.

My son has a Membership and is new to weightlifting and wanted me to go and show him the proper way to lift. He asked the other day if I could come in and just show him how to properly lift and proper techniques. Today we go in and all seems good to go until Lauren comes over to the counter and states if Im not considering joining it would be $16 to accompany my son even though Im not working out. Well, if I ever decide to go back to working out at a gym it wouldnt be there as I would go to 24 Fitness or Lifetime Fitness.

Truthfully, great facilities for just about anyone and the staff, for the most part, evidently works hard to make it a welcoming place. But try to cancel your membership (for school, extended work or travel, it really doesnt matter), even with the intention of coming back in the future, and Corporate Policy is as cold and unforgiving as it gets. Youll get burned with another payment IF you dont cancel thirty days before your next scheduled payment. Its a policy which does not appear to exist for any important reason except to wrongly charge you for something youre unable to use. Its a greedy move for a rather well-to-do business. A poor example of customer service that youll be left with as a parting gift, a generous sign of their gratitude for all your previous business.Main point - if you think youll forget about this policy and try to cancel, even if you are just moving (which most of us do from time to time), find another gym. It isnt worth the frustration, not to mention the cash youll be out.

When your contract is up even when you follow the steps to make sure your membership is cancel when the contract is up they will still charge you and claim you never cancel after showing proof forget about a refund they will not the customer service sucks. No body up there does their job especially Tory she definitely dont know how the hell to be a manager... this place sucks its like a colt its hard to get out of once you sign up... consider another gym

Love Barre with Sandi. The staff is amazing! Its a second home for me. My kids love the play area and ask when they can go. Cardio cinema and pool are great. If you have a question. Anyone of the staff will be happy to help. I rate it A++ And, lots of people my age and so any classes to meet new friends at any fitness level including Silver Sneakers and kids age 10 and up can work out too. Im so satisfied. Glad I made a change.

The gym facility is nice. However, it does not compensate for the inadequate staff, especially in the membership area. If you decide to sign up, good luck canceling your membership. They have a 30 day cancellation policy, meaning you get charged for the month after you cancelled your membership, that they cease to explain until youre calling them asking why you are being charged for the month after you cancelled. Wait, it doesnt stop there. Youll most likely be charged for the following month as well. Typically, it is this point when people tend to lose it and ask to speak to the general manager who happens to still be sick from last month when you called to discuss the 30 day policy no one informed you about. They dont know when he/she will be in next either. How convenient?! They preceded to asked me if I had my carbon copy to verify the date (which I already knew) when I cancelled my membership. Luckily, I was prepared for this ring around because they are pretty notorious for unauthorized charges. After verifying the date, per carbon copy, Im asked if I could bring that record to the gym so they can update my account. No you didnt read that wrong. They asked for the carbon copy of the ORIGINAL which they kept for their records. Sounds to me like this gym is completely and utterly disorganized. So I warn you, dont sign up here. The facility is just simply not good enough to compensate for this.

If it was possible to leave no stars I would. As many others have said they either give you false info or completely leave out info about different fees and policies (even if asked) upon signing up. Only when you go to use different features or cancel all together are you notified of the additional costs. Management blames the customer for the misinformation that is given by the staff and accepts no responsibility. Unwilling to correct the situations created by their own staff. Would never recommend or go back again.

What can I say? Its Golds! It has almost anything the average fitness or bodybuilder personality could want. Youre always going to want to be better and when youve done all you can theres saunas and showers to relax in. If it didnt cost an arm and a leg to be a member Id be a lifetime member but its reasonable for what they offer.

Need more class options and child care times. Does not seem like all staff is trained well. No training on equipment, just let you go at. Usually clean. Staff especially child care need first aid and CPR training. They did everything wrong when my son got hurt. Except to come get me. They do have a variety of things and I love the movie theater treadmill room.

I love the golds gym, I cancel my membership at other fitness center because equipment was lacking. The golds gym has almost every machine/ equipment you need to workout every body part. One of the down falls is the house keeping. The mens restroom stink at times, toilet bowls not cleaned properly, only 2 faucets work, showers are sometimes dirty. It be nice if they up their house keeping. Besides that the gym is awesome.

The gym experience has been fine as far as facilities. But please be aware that Golds Gym Corporate has an F rating with the BBB and participate s in unfair billing practices. If for any reason you need to change your dues payment info . You cannot do it online you will have to go the gym and fill out a form. If youre out of town get ready to be charged a $20 decline fee each time they hit your card and this will continue until and sometimes even after you fill out the form. There is no customer support and if you try to call the Corporate office in Dallas you can try ever extension and no one will answer the phone.

Worst experience ever!! Fraudulently charge your account. Don’t make the mistake of leaving your credit card information on file with them. If you sign up for a three month membership, they keep charging your account after the three months is up.I paid three hundred dollars for a trainer who was rude and would not meet when agreed to.

Be wary of customer service.While I have been a member for over a year at this gym and enjoy the facility. I am seriously considering terminating my mother’s and my membership here and going elsewhere where the satisfaction of the customer is important. I attempted to bring a guest with me one time who had just moved to the local area and had not made a Texas identification card yet. He had made a free three day pass online and when we arrived at the gym, my guest was treated with skepticism as if he was lying about being a local resident. Nonetheless, he was allowed in. When we arrived the next day, he was not allowed in, due to him not carrying on his person, a “water bill with his name on it.” We told her that the woman let him in the day before, and she completely disregarded that and claimed that she does not know why he was even allowed in. While she may be following a very strict guest policy set by Gold’s Gym Corporate, she was very rude and unforgiving. After being unable to workout due to being kicked out, I will not be returning to Gold’s Gym and will be terminating the two memberships on my account until they readjust their policies and treatment of guests. I can not recommend an establishment that has no respect for their customers, especially when one is paying over 40$ a month for the most basic membership.

The Golds Gym in Waxahachie, Tx is a good place to workout. Also has a good facility for kids. A nice big area for children they also a day camp for older kids up until 8 years old. Swimming and wet area is very clean a large locker room.

This place is filthy the mens room smells like Urine. The sinks are always dirty as is the floors the soap dispensers empty. The machines again dirty. The employees do not wipe the machine down after using them they also do not insist the people they trained to do so. The trainers are obnoxious and rude. The most unprofesional group of people Ive ever seen.To pay one of these out of shape trainers to assist you to get in shape is a scam they are not trainers they are robbers. You join at your own risk and should be aware of the workout scam these trainers are pulling. Its a joke. I watch these trainers and they are not professional and you pay the $1000.00 at your own loss. This place has potential but not with the current management.

Great facility, but the Kids Club is over crowed. I feel uncomfortable leaving my son there at times. Today we walked out because there were 20+ kids (4 of whom were infant) with only two staff members. Some of the staff is very friendly but others not so much. The Yoga Flow class isnt great. Its more like strength training and cardio which I can get in the gym its self. When I go to a yoga class, I expect yoga.

Billing is atrocious. They set up two accounts for me when I signed up and took 6 months to resolve it. Now, they keep hitting me with late charges even though Ive updated my card. Theyre also confrontational when asking why Im being charge what I am. I never have a problem with the Preston center location in Dallas but the waxahachie one is a joke when it comes to operations.

Horrible membership and customer service. I had to cancel my membership in person, and I am still being charged 3 months later. I was not under the year long contract you are forced into when you first sign up. I keep getting the run around and the general manager is never available. I was asked if I had my carbon copy of my cancellation agreement and to send it to them. There seems to never be anyone in charge who can answer my questions, call me back, or respond to my email. From reading other reviews it sounds like I am not the only one this has happened to. I am not the type to spend the time writing reviews, positive or negative, but what Golds Gym Waxahachie is doing is just wrong.

Mens Locker Room and showers need improvement on their cleanliness. Would expect there is a daily cleaning schedule to keep them clean throughout the day, not just once a day, and management is checking on their condition.It seems like there are no performance requirements or standards on the above.Suggest that the interior of the lockers get wiped down on a weekly schedule also.Finally, today, the Mens Locker Room was basically closed at 9:30AM to have female attendants clean it and power wash the showers. At 10:20AM it was still being cleaned. Wouldnt this type of cleaning be better suited to pre opening or post closing hours. At a minimum, why not inform guests beforehand that the locker/shower facilities will not be available for a scheduled time to do this type of deep cleaning.

My entire family has dealt with Sandra at Golds Gym and every single time we have to go through her everything is a huge deal. She gives off nothing but a snobbish attitude. Most recently I went to the gym to get a refund for an un-contracted contest and when I came in she LITERALLY sat me down and interrogated me and told me I would need a doctors note to get my money back, and THEN she insulted me by telling me to settle down after all I said was I dont need to bring a doctors note or explain anything I just want our $65 dollars back. She went on to say are you done? She is completely unprofessional and rude. I feel sorry for anyone who signs up through her; my sister recently signed up there and went to someone else and the customer service was a completely different story. This woman SANDRA needs to re-do her training or find a job where she can actually act like she has some authority because obviously thats what she wants.

I have faced numerous issues with this place to the point I had file a lawsuit against them:Accounting issues: I have cancelled my membership in August 2017, their front desk staff sign a piece of paper and say you are all done but till date they are charging my credit card. There is no responsible person there, no account manager or a supervisor. Always will give you a run around and hang up on you. Finally when i got hold of Ms. TORI ARZOLA the operations manager she cancelled my membership and with in a week a debt collections agency started to call me about payments for Golds. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. NEVER EVER GIVE THEM YOUR ACCOUNT DETAILS.Equipment Issues: Literally any day you walk in 50% of the equipment is not working with a pathetic sign that it is out of order. The whole place stinks like a rotten meat locker and no one is ever there to clean up the place. Stay away from this place, you would be glad for your health and wealth.

Had to cut my workout in half because they turned the pool temperature back up to 90 degrees. Great place to go if you want to boil an egg while doing your laps. Place is still being kept clean though. Machines are being fixed quickly. Rest of the gym is above average.Update - -Bathrooms have been looking better. Pool temperature as been consistently around 85 which is a huge improvement and an acceptable compromise. At least Im actually able to do a decent workout. Ive noticed swimming participation is way up, probably because you are no longer at risk of catching on fire during your laps. If the temperature ever gets consistently down around 82 Ill give 5 stars.My 3 star experience is based on the temperature of the pool, which is typically 87-90 degrees. This is the only portion of the facilities I use. The front desk says they keep it this warm because people complain about it being too cold. The proper response to this would be to tell them that if they were to swim instead of simply float around they would find themselves comfortably warm in a matter of minutes. If someone complained that the gym air was too cold would you turn up the temperature to 90 degrees to make the ones who just sit around comfortable? No, because doing so would create an unsafe condition for those actually putting forth some effort in their workout. Anything above 85 degrees in a lap pool poses a danger of heat exhaustion for anyone swimming more than 300 yards at a decent pace, so I have to limit myself to a partial workout so the management can satify the members who want to turn the lap pool into a hottub: this is particularly ironic considering there is already a hottub right next to the pool. A simple Google search is all that is needed to find that an Olympic pool for lap swimming should be between 77-82 degrees. I would also venture to guess there is a tremendous amount of money lost in electricity from overheating that pool.In addition to the pool temperature there are broken sinks in the mens locker room that have been like that for a while, and the swimsuit dryer took a month to fix. Considering how new this place is that is simply a product of poor management; a conclusion that is further supported by the amount of trash that is present on the floors in the locker rooms stalls in the evenings.3 stars is generous.

Managment and customer service is a joke. I paid in full for a one year gym memebership and needed to freeze my account for enexpected reasons. This is something Ive had to do in the past at other gyms and had absolutely no problems doing it. They told since it was paid in full I couldnt freeze account and to come in and take care of when I can come back. So ive tried to take care of for almost 6 months and got the same circle jerk response from everyone I talked too. Once they got your money they dont give a damn so do not pay in full. They cant take care of business but they can sure try to sell you some kind of product or package on a weekly basis thru email.
