UPDATE: changing back to a 5-star review. Great customer service often boils down to how organizations resolve issues and recover from damaged reputations. Within a few hours after my previous 1-star review and interaction with the company, the owner did a little research to validate a previously purchased tune-up warranty that was offered from the previous business. He called me back personally to apologize and offer continuity of service at the original price. Really appreciate the company going above and beyond to resolve the issue and make it right. Thank you!

We asked multiple providers to give estimates to replace our furnace and air conditioning. The specifications were pretty consistent. 2 ton SEER 18 with 60k BTU variable speed furnace. 1st choices Ultimate package estimate was twice the wholesale cost of the equipment, and $7400 higher than the lowest estimate.That said, they include a lot in that estimate, including a warranty. Trouble is, warranties are often worth less than the paper they are written on. Even with annual inspections to keep the equipment under warranty, its just too much mark up in my opinion.Additionally, they were very professional prompt, and courteous.

In 2020, I used 1st Choice to install a brand-new MagicPak unit at my condo. Within one-year warranty, it stopped working. Then, I called 1st Choice to pursue the warranty. A technician was there and told me the grid was clogged. A cleanup was needed. Then, I called 1st Choice for the service. But, the manager told me they dont provide those kind service. I had to call another AC company to clean it up at $98 cost.The problem was that later on the 1st Choice tried to charge me $184 for the Diagnoses (after bargain they gave me $50 off).I dont think this charge is reasonable and want to share my story to public.

Mike has come to our house a few times in the last few years for my furnace and AC that are getting older. He’s always very friendly and super informative. And my dog LOVES I am! It’s actually adorable how my dog wants to sit right by him while he is working.I feel like I can trust him to give me an honest opinion.Looking at other reviews, it looks like my intuition is right!

The technicians and installation were amazing. They finished in 1 day as promised, were incredibly friendly to both us and our pets, the work looks of highest quality, and they left the house inside and out spotless when they were done. So incredibly pleased with our decision to use First Choice! The only issue we had was that the salesperson did not respond when we sent over questions and was not diligent in taking notes for when the installation team came in.

I cannot say enough about this company. My furnace finally died on me after 25 years. I tried to fix it myself but failed miserably. I called out this company and this were quick to arrive. Service call price was reasonable for a weekend. Service tech was professional, did not try and sell me and told me what I needed with a fair price. I decided it was best to replace the entire unit without being pressured to do so. I had it installed 5 days later. The techs were great and had it installed within a half day. Very personable people and explained everything they were doing. Price for the furnace was fair but you have to remember they are expensive anywhere. This company had great 12 mo. no interest financing.I value this company for my future needs.

1 star is too good!They do not stand behind their product. We got our AC installed 5 years ago, twice, we had to get it serviced to add more coolant, obviously that isn’t normal. Now we need more coolant again, the tech came out, found the leak and said we need a new unit and that there is nothing we could have done. It was a unit issue. Contacted the company and they said we need a new unit but it is on our dime. Nothing they will do. Will never use them for anything and would advise against others!

Highly recommended! In addition to installing a new AC unit in a new location, we also hired them to relocate our furnace and gas line - all part of a basement remodel. The workers were very knowledgeable, and worked with us through every detail/measurement to ensure our ultimate project would be a success. Kudos to Rob, Lynn, and Jessica for taking great care of us!

This is my 3rd attempt at a google review. My other 2 didnt show. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I was told after the fact while the technician was here that they wouldnt warranty any parts or service provided as they were not the original installers. They should have told me that on the phone as they did absolutely nothing to even look or quote me on my problem. I was left with more questions then answers. Charged 187.50 for no results.

Tim came out to check out my furnace and perform a tune up and inspection. As a first time home buyer it was great to get some education on my furnace and he did a great job of that. He also found a loose wire that explained an issue I was having. He was in and out and I am happy!

Mike was our serviceman whom we requested. He had previously serviced our equipment and were always happy with his service. This visit was no exception. Mike changed the batteries in our thermostat and tuned up the furnace. Mike is always friendly and explains if there is any part that may need servicing. We recommend First Choice Heating and Cooling for heating and cooling needs. They are always ready to help.

1st Choice was top notch and we will use them going forward should we need to. Our furnace died a couple weeks ago, and that same day someone came out to diagnose the problem (apologies- I cant remember everyones name but they were all super helpful). A few hours later we met with Wayne, who helped us figure out what furnace to go with according to our needs and budget. The next day we had people come to install the new furnace and thermostat! They were on time, extremely friendly and kind, and- considering I dont know the first thing about any of this kind of stuff, they explained the problems really well to me, then showed me around the new furnace and thermostat. Good price, too! Im very grateful for 1st Choice- very honest, kind, friendly business that I would recommend to anyone.

Yesterday, I had 1st choice install a new furnace, a new central ac unit, and a new thermostat (all replacements). They arrived early and promptly (so early they woke me up)! They explained everything in detail. They worked quickly and efficiently and had the entire job done at 14:00, which i was very impressed by. They did a fantastic job with the install, making it look very clean and neat. They swept up their work area and made sure it was spotless. They explained the rebate and inspection procedures to me, and also maintenance tips to save me from making a service call ($200). They only took one break which was 30 minutes for lunch. I noticed that the installers worked well as a team and there was no unprofessional language or arguments between them.Id also like to point out that the sales person made it easy to pick the right furnace and ac for our house. We went with 2 stage units which are more expensive but I can already tell its worth it seems to push the air to our 2nd floor more easily. Financing was made very simple as well and the products come with a great warranty.

My heat went out last week. I discovered this at 7 pm. I called and left a voice mail and received a return call immediately. We discussed my options for an emergency visit and we agreed to wait until morning. I have a gas fireplace and worked great for a back up heating supply. They came the next morning. The tech was very nice and found the problem in 10 minutes. Replaced the part with a furnace tune up! I was very happy with the whole process. I highly recommend this company!

I scheduled a seasonal checkup due to funny noises from our furnace and I was fully prepared to have a new blower motor installed. After checking things out and putting a band aid on the problem the friendly service tech set up a call with a sale rep. Bottom line, we needed a new furnace. Little did I know, being the second owner of this home, the furnace I had was the builders spec version. Not ideal for efficiency or performance. The team at 1st choice was outstanding. I had a quote the same day i requested service. They looked for all the rebates and benefits possible for us and did not hard sell me on the top line model. The install guys we great. Courteous, on time and very helpful. Not only did they relocate our thermostat to a better location or our home, they also wired in our whole house humidifier to our smart thermostat (was not done previously) and they did it at no charge! Really can’t say enough about how happy I am with 1st Choice.

The service, scheduling and over all professionalism was fantastic with 1st Choice Heating. We have an older boiler system that supplies our hot water and in floor heat. Without the boiler, no hot showers, hot water or warmth in the house, not a fun situation when temps are hovering in the low 30’s. I called 1st Choice, because I had friends that had a good experience. To my surprise Brenda got me on the schedule for service the same day and when Tim the tech arrivedhe fixed our problem, cleaned and tuned our system and went over and above to set all of the thermostats (6) in total, so that the heat was consistent throughout the entire house. I highly recommend 1st Choice Heating for service, tune-ups and cleaning.

I have dual heating controls on my furnace which requires two thermostats. I have an additional electronic box attached to the furnace which makes it hard for the do it yourself guy to make a diagnosis. The furnace started making noises and after a few days did not work . The thermostats appeared to work. Mike has been the go to service person in the past and he has always been great. He is knowledgeable and gives me insight and tips that are very helpful. He did a thorough check and with his tools and experience it ended up being one of the thermostats. Thanks to Mike for continued great service.

All of the techs that worked on our HVAC project were professional, courteous, interested in the system updates. Some of the techs more highly skilled. Resolution of project was really professional and works great. Pricing on all corrective action was fair and reasonable. Will recommend this company to others. Everyone was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I really cant say enough how friendly the workers were. System works great, new thermostat was an added plus. They installed a new furnace and went above and beyond, even labeling air flow direction to help with filter replacements and securing drain hose to drain. Definitely recommend.

We found First Choice Heating & Cooling to be incredible with both service and quality with the furnace and dust ionizer they installed before last Christmas. Our 18yr old furnace went out Sunday early morning before Christmas. I called Monday and a tech was here by 1pm and told us the heat exchanger was dead and the carbon monoxide in the furnace was over 400! So we were glad it shut off. He said to call the office for the person who does contracts. She arrived on Tuesday morning and we bought a system for $5,000 with installation Thursday. But she rearranged their schedule because we had zero heat and they installed it that afternoon! The 2 installers were completely professional, explaining the smart thermostat and even setting it for us. I had used First Choice for a new furnace in an old house 20 years ago and they always came when my old furnace would go out. I highly recommend them!!

We used 1st Choice for issues that we had with our AC last summer (on the hottest day). Steve, the technician, was out to our house within an hour of being called and fixed it for us. We had an issue with our damper last week and the part was ordered and fixed in time for the weekend. It was needed to be fixed by the weekend because we were going to be gone for a week and couldnt risk our furnace breaking in the middle of winter. They were very professional, honest and responsive. I would highly recommend using them for your heating and air conditioning maintenance and repair.

1st Choice Heating has always done excellent work. Ive had 2 furnaces installed, one in 2001 and then again in 2019. I also had a central air unit installed in 2020. Always did excellent work, were on time and explained everything very well. When my furnace was on its last legs during a below zero cold snap the beginning of 2019 they made sure that i didnt go without heat and installed a new furnace the day after I called and were done in 3 hours.

Scheduling a Tune Up was easy. I was able to get an appointment for our three furnaces On the same day and on My husband’s day off! Mike was prompt and efficient. My husband and I appreciate the great service!

Called 1st Choice emergency when our A/C unit stopped running on a very hot weekend day. They answered immediately and contacted one of their off-hours technicians, Mike. Mike called shortly afterward and gave me an accurate ETA. Mike arrived on-time, asked a few questions and had the problem diagnosed in a very short time. Fortunately, he had the proper repair part with him and we were running in less than an hour - start to finish. I strongly recommend that you consider these folks for both repair, replacement and new installs. Very dependable.

This review is for this scheduling only. I called at 3 in the afternoon. I got a call back at 5:43, 45 minutes AFTER they closed. I called back immediately and got their answering service. I left a message with them that yes, I want the appointment. The next day I called back just to be sure I was on the schedule. I was not. My message was lost. Now my appointment is 10 days after the original. Jessica, the scheduler, refused to accept responsibility since it was the answering service. THEIR answering service. She wouldn’t even look into it. She should not be making after hours calls if their customer cannot get back to them immediately. They also need to accept accountability for the failures of communication within their own company. These days no one wants to be held accountable. All I got was excuses.

I would rate a 5, but the installers were later than they thought theyd be, so they were in a hurry to finish at the end of the day. That resulted in them not installing the condensate pump properly and water ran onto the floor for the hour or so before I found it.Customer service is excellent!! Product seems great, but it is also early in our experience.

During routine maintenance the repairman discovered an issue. After diagnostics the repairman stopped diagnostics and ordered a needed part and rescheduled a return appointment. He quickly replaced the faulty part, finished the tuneup and cleaned up, very quick and efficient service call.

Our pressure regulator was bad. Mike changed it and didn’t charge for it as they will warranty it out. Great working with them. They installed our furnace and ac several years ago. A great company!!

First off, Mike the technician was very nice. However, a $378 bill to drive 10 minutes down the road, spend 5 minutes with my ac unit and replace a $9.94 capacitor, just didnt sit well with me. Especially as it was installed before I could even say let me think about the price for a moment. I appreciated you guys coming out, but the experience just didnt sit right with me.

My second experience with 1St Choice was extremely helpful. I have been having an issue with my furnace over the past 2 years and Tim was finally able to resolve. No more getting up at 2am to reset my furnace in the dead of winter. Thank you!

I received very good and quick emergency service from Tim. When I called the next day to ask for further clarifications and suggestions the manager that I talked to was not helpful and was very arrogant and even threatening. If I need to talk to that person to get service next time I might not use 1st Choice again. Thankfully Tim called me back later and all was straightened out.

Just had my furnace tuned up by Mackenzie. He was so sweet and nice. He was running a bit late and phoned to alert us (and really he wasnt that late and I work from home so it didnt matter). I recently had a furnace replacement done by 1st Choice Heating. The salesman was friendly and informative and willing to work with me to tailor my choice to fit my budget. The installation crew was on time, courteous, cleaned up, and finished on schedule. I was provided all paperwork for a rebate – all I had to do was sign and mail. The only glitch was the electrician who had to finish the electrical work was running about 90 minutes late. Would I recommend 1st Choice Heating? Yes.

We have been using 1st Choice for years and years. They came out on a Christmas Eve and had it the furnace repaired in no time. They do a very thorough check up in fall on the furnace and spring on the air conditioner. Technicians know their stuff! As we are looking at replacing both units, they will be the first we call.

Have been utilizing 1st Choice for several years now and couldnt be happier with the service Ive received. Andres is a terrific technician who had the unenviable job of informing us we needed a new furnace. He showed us the issue and made sure the furnace was safe to use until it was replaced. Lynn arrived a few days later to walk us through our options. We settled on one and were fortunate to have had mild weather to get us through until our installation. Jim and Cameron handled that and were awesome. Jim started by going above and beyond and removing a stubborn shelving unit in the pantry -- something I was unable to accomplish the night before. In less than three hours the old furnace was out and the new one was in along with a new thermostat. Jim showed us how to use the new thermostat, properly warned us about the fragrance a new furnace gives off initially and cleaned everything up well. Both Jim and Cameron were very pleasant and professional, and it was a pleasure having them take care of the job. Cant recommend 1st Choice enough for your heating and cooling needs!

I choose 1st Choice Heating and Cooling based upon Google reviews and I am so pleased that I did. Absolutely fantastic job. They were able to schedule a time for me very quickly and the technician even arrived a few minutes early (but he called first to make sure this was fine). The technician was warm and answered all my questions patiently and without making me feel foolish. Being relatively new to my current home he showed me aspects of my furnace that I wasnt aware and made suggestions for maintenance I can personally do to keep it in good working order for many years. I have no hesitation in recommending other to use them as their primary heating and cooling inspection, repair, and replacement company.

The technician arrived to the exact minute the appointment was scheduled for. His inspection and service was thorough. I greatly appreciated that he showed me what he had found during the inspection and explained it in terms that I could understand. He didnt try to take advantage of me by selling me a total new furnace that is not needed at this time, but rather the part that does need replacing. I have found the company that I will stay with forever.

Found 1st Choice three years ago while pricing a project to add central air to our home. They came in with the most reasonable price but also some frank talk about our project. I really found the honesty and willingness to talk it out refreshing. Ive been using them for all of our HVAC needs since then, including a new boiler earlier this year.
