A great mechanic!! I took my VW Jetta here after learning it was leaking oil. They diagnosed the problem within a few hours and worked with me to get it done in time for me to drive back to Tennessee after spending time visiting in Wisconsin for the holidays. I was on a very tight timeline and they worked hard to get it done in time. Above and beyond customer service and fair pricing.

Good quality, honest mechanic with a rare specialization in Volkswagen. And years of knowledge about these cars.Expertise like this for VWs is hard to come by. Its a bit if a hike for me, but worth the distance!

Great service and the best price in town. I have an Audi A4 and they charge about half what the dealership does for the timing belt replacement and I couldnt be happier with the quality of work. They know what they are doing and always have the parts you need without having to wait a long time. They fixed my timing belt quickly and the workmanship is just as good as any Audi dealership. The staff is friendly, honest, and easy to deal with. I will not go anywhere else for now on!

My daughter had an issue getting anti-theft lug nuts off her pre-owned 2005 bug with a flat tire. Previous owner didnt leave the adapter when they traded in the car.So how do you change a tire that you cant get off your car? You have it towed to Jim! In less than 15 minutes he removed all of the now useless lugs and put her full sized spare on! After the tears and frustration, my daughter had her car. Great customer service. Very good mechanics, I have a Volkswagen Jetta and they replaced the brakes and fixed another problem; They are very honest, they guarantee what they do and they are not like other mechanics who take advantage when the client is a woman; I recommend them 💯%

Other area mechanics wouldnt accept my bmw x5. Jims diagnosed my problem and got back to me with a quote within 1 day. Ordered the part and called me with a slight delay in shipping which only added 1 day. Overall very satisfied with their work, price, communication, and friendliness. I would return and recommend.

We drive a 1984 VW Westphalia. Hundreds of thousands of miles on it. We were a thousand miles from home when we had a problem. CV joints both, were original. 35 years old. They went. We ended up at Jims. They were fabulous. Professional, pleasant, fun. Replaced both. Fast. And were much less expensive than we could have hoped. Great place.

These guys are simply THEE best!! We moved to Wisconsin from out of state a few years ago and one of the hardest things (unfortunately) is to find a trustworthy, honest and skilled car service provider. Two specific instances with two different vehicles. I first contacted Jim’s Bug Service after a recommendation from my insurance provider. We had an 2006 manual VW Passat with transmission issues. I had been told my multiple dealers/transmission centers that I needed a whole new transmission ($4k+). I contacted Jim’s and dropped it off same day. I did NOT need a new transmission. It was a $700 fix and we still have the car today. Second was an issue with a Chevy Traverse. It was making noise/shaking, etc. A well known local Chevy dealer gave me an estimate of $10k+ and refused to prioritize anything saying “it all needs done.” Well, the truck was payed off and I am sure they wanted me to just buy a new car. I called Jim’s and ended up having the truck fixed for $1500. And a year later all has been fine. Simply, if you are looking for a trustworthy and honest car service for any type of car, Jims Bug Service is the only place to go.

Went here to have my main engine-to-transmission seal looked at. They found an extremely slow leak and determined there wasnt much to worry about at that point in time. Both Jims were nice and respectful. They didnt charge me for looking at it. I may go back in the future.

I cant say enough nice things about Jims Bug Center! We have been taking our 06 Passat 4 motion 3.6 to the dealership for years... Unsatisfying... After getting a crazy expensive quote to repair the timing, I took a recommendation, and went to see Jim. Jim, under unbelievably difficult circumstances, took great care of me. He swapped out my engine for 50% what the dealer was going to charge to look at the timing. Now, 2 weeks after getting it back, driving like new! Saved my bacon!5 stars plus! Got a VW.?..? Stop over paying for repairs and go see Jim!

Called Jim on a Wednesday after having my car at a dealership to look at my 2012 VW Jetta Sportwagen for a different issue and found oil leaking from the filter canister and the oil pan. I explained to Jim what parts the dealer said theyd need and where it was leaking and said he could get the parts in one day and would be able to have my car fixed first thing at 8am on the Friday the same week! When I arrived shortly before 8, Jim was very professional and greeted me to the shop, showed me the parts hed be installing, and said it would take about 1.5 hours to fix. He started I left the shop shortly after 8 and got a call from him before 9:30 that my car was done and ready to be picked up. Not only does he stand by his word, he does great work for a great price! He even answered my questions about specific torque settings to use for future oil changes as I plan to do them myself! He was true to the quote he gave me over the phone for the parts and labor, and I saved over $200 by going to him versus the dealership! Even though I live an hour away, Jims Bug Center will definitely be the first place I take my VW for any future car issues!

My wife and I took our 2006 Jetta there to have the rear wheel bearing replaced. I was able to drop off the vehicle and place the keys in a secure location. They did the work the next day and I was able to come and pick up the car that evening. They did great work and saved me atleast $200 compaired to the dealership. I will be bringing out Jetta there for all maintanence work in the future!!!

I brought in my 1974 autostick VW beetle that had a terrible stalling problem and would barely run, I had tried everything I could to fix myself it including rebuilding the carb but could not make it stop bogging out.Finally I caved in and brought it to Jim and his son at Jims Bug Center, right away when I pulled up and saw all the beetles and dunebuggies I could tell these guys knew what they were doing!I am someone who never uses a shop in fear of being ripped off, but these guys were very upfront and clear about all the pricing and didn’t really charge that much for labor (Only fifty bucks) to fix my problems.I wish I would have brought it in sooner and saved myself the headaches.Now I’m back on the road and I will be recommending Jims to everyone I know with a VW!
