The rep was personable, efficient and knowledgeable but I dont usually use these types of services perferring to do my own taxes.

Weve been going to H & R Block for many years, with Bryan Krist as our tax preparer. He has always done a fantastic job. This year, with Covid-19, we dropped off our taxes. Eileen Reece prepared our taxes this time, and she, too, did a great job. She was very helpful in guiding us through the new procedures. Year after year, we have a positive experience with H & R Block and feel very confident in their expertise.

Johnny Major is the reason that you should visit H and R block, the guy is GOOD, could help any one in any tax situation, he knows taxes and all the rules like the back of his hand, he is also pretty fast so once you schedule an appointment and show up it goes by really quick.I used to do my own taxes, but why, if you screw up or if the IRS decides to change their rules mid year, you are stuck with the burden of having to work to fix it, just let H and R deal with it, the money you pay is for piece of mind its done right or if it isnt done right they will fix it for you no problems!

Yesenia was the reason. I loved her attention to detail, she answered all my questions whether it was in English or Spanish and took her time. She made sure to make herself available if I needed any questions answered even after our visit. She found savings and deductions that I didnt think I would have, I was pleasantly surprise of how effective she was, Ive been coming to the Wauconda H&R block for 10+ years, recently I learned that my usual guy passed away. I was skeptical to come back because of it, you tend to build a relationship with your tax guy. You need to trust the person handling your money, so i opted to give it a chance with another tax preparer, Im glad I did. I have had bad experiences prior, and thanks to yesenia I can see myself coming to her for 10+ years more. Her professionalism, her patience, only confirmed it. If you live near Wauconda, or speak Spanish and you are looking for someone, go to her she will walk you through it all. Yesenia your awesome. Thanks!!

Service and reliability, 20 years without problems.However, the cost of a simple 1040 has gone up every year, while new software allows the prep time to be reduced. I will be shopping for another service next year.

Great service and advice.

I dont like doing things like this. I dont like to put things like this out there but now I need to let people know. Dont go to this H&R Block. I filed my taxes and got a return this year. I checked the IRS website after I filed and it said that I needed to pay self employment tax. I asked them if I needed to and they said no. I also asked if I was liable if they were wrong MULTIPLE TIMES and they said no. I had to ask them MYSELF to double check and they said now I have to owe back my return AND the self employment tax because they didnt catch their mistake that I CAUGHT. That ends up being around $1500 because they werent careful enough. The explanation for their mistake was that the lady who prepared my taxes ASSUMED that I didnt need to pay the self employment tax. ASSUMED. Thats not good for filing taxes. I thought I would have the peace of mind filing my taxes. Now I have to worry about paying $1500 when the IRS catches it.Also I got a call from the district manager and the only thing he offered to do was refund the fee I paid and do my taxes for free next year. He still said I have to pay the self employment tax. Absolutely absurd. Why would I bother to do my taxes again with the people who ruined them in the first place. They didnt take responsibility for their mistake. Let this be a warning that if they get it wrong, they will not make up for their mistake.

I as able to schedule an appointment just when I needed it. When I arrived at my scheduled time I was pleasantly greeted, and waited about 2 minutes until I was called back to meet with the agent.
