This place is great …you are always assured that the product to be serviced will be done right …Vince is the best …thank you so much and great job fixing my Pioneer RT-909 .This is one of the best places in the U.S who can take care of high end vintage electronics .Yuriy and Sophia
My mom called to see if he could fix my record player and he yelled at her. He didn’t even let her ask a question and assumed she knew nothing about what she was talking about. If I could give less than 1 star I would.
Vince fixed my amp super-fast. When you enter the shop, you are in his/their world - be polite and calm and you will either get your gear fixed, or you will get some great information. VERY reasonable prices.
**READ IF YOU’RE THINKING OF DOING BUSINESS WOTH AUDIO PROS*** It’s been said before on the reviews, Vince is a genius and a savant in this field which comes with eccentricities of their own. Most of the people on here complaining about how he handles business simply cannot handle a brutally honest and to the point kind of person. I’ve worked with Vince for a couple of years before, and he truly just wants to put you with the right equipment or repair your equipment to the right sound you want it to be. THAT is why he goes through lengthy conversations, he actually TAKES THE TIME to make sure he knows what you want so that he can achieve that! You really have to leave everything you ever knew about Audio at the shop door when you come see Vince, guaranteed he knows MOUNTAINS more than you and is just trying to help. He doesn’t play into the immediate gratification of this day and age, and wants to get to the root issue and explain things so that you can become educated. Just LISTEN, and you will learn more than you thought you ever could. I love Vince, Ken and everyone at the shop. They do an amazing job and will always be family. Plus I’d like to mention, if he’s not buying your equipment stop taking it personally- he already has such a vast collection that he really doesn’t need to buy more (if only for parts that are hard to find, etc). Seriously, go in with an open mind and you will be amazed what he can do for you. (Also, some people on here complaining about units still not working when they get home sometimes don’t even know how to work their units. I’ve been witness to units working great in the shop after cleanup and repair, and then we get a call back from someone with the same issue they had before)
I brought in my Sony CD player but was found to be unrepairable. Bought refurbished Sony CD played for very reasonable price. I looked at new players on line, EBay, and Best Buy and CD players going way of dinosaur. But this Sony I purchased works great and is even compatible with my old Sony remote. Would definitely recommend this place!!
I called and left a message about getting a stereo preamp repaired. Vince (the owner?) called me back. From the word go I knew I was dealing with an unstable individual. I dont care how talented or gifted you may be... When you talk over your customer and then start yelling at them because they dont want unnecessary information (Im a busy person too, Vince), youre going to lose my business. I would steer anyone else clear of this place. Dude is looney-tunes.
Helped me out with everything I needed for a very fair price
I called this place about potentially repairing a stereo that I had, just to see if it was even worth it, but Vince wouldn’t even let me explain anything about my problems with the product, or even what model it was, just kept interrupting me and lecturing me on why big tech is bad, I couldn’t get a word in sideways for almost ten minutes! Vince if you’re reading this I think you need to re evaluate your sales strategy...
They claim they are too busy and swamped with work. Then the savant gets on the phone and dictates terms of service, as in you must send an email with photos, model numbers, etc and for that you get the privilege of being charged a consulting fee. Meanwhile, you are told repeatedly when trying to explain the problem that less information is better, whatever the hell that means. Sorry Charlie, this is not how it works when all you want is to get something repaired. If youre really that busy, turn off your phone and tell prospective customers to buzz off.
Vince and his crew are exceptionally knowledgeable about all sorts of vintage audio equipment. Vince is an explainer and will talk your ears off with as many technical details as you can handle. And their shop prices are reasonable to boot!
If you like to be screamed at, berated, and cut off before you can even begin to explain your needs.....
When I first contacted Audi Pro I was excited to find a company that appeared passionate about vintage audio equipment and tried to keep it running. But that image quickly changed as I found it more and more difficult to work with the owner to sell my equipment to him at rock bottom prices. You would think that this would be a pretty easy matter to agree on. But that is not what happened. Vince dominates the conversation, has all kinds of evolving rules and processes, and tells you all old equipment needs serious rework (even before he sees it). He confused me with other customers with other circumstances only a few hours after I had been communicating with him. He had a million ways to be unreasonable, suspicious, hard-headed, and egotistical. No matter how honest and polite I was, he became harder and harder to do business with. Anyone who has to keep telling you he is the brains in the business and insisting on how smart he is, but then treats customers like they are unworthy of his time needs a lesson in basic customer business rules. The store is very uninviting, from its broken glass front door and security fences on the windows to the fire trap, overcrowded, dirty interior with barely a two foot path to walk between the piles of equipment. Maybe he started out with a good business strategy based on excellent customer service, but I saw no evidence of that. I saw a person struggling to keep it together, without an ounce of empathy and no interest in his customers. Clearly he is always right, and the customer is always at fault, even when he has completely forgotten email exchanges and phone calls with them or entirely misconstrued their content. I do not recommend dealing with this business
Honest and knowledgeable, exactly what I was looking for.
No way to run a business ...absolutely no customer service .Did Not and never will bring any electronics to this shop .
Amazing customer service, tons of knowledge, this place is the real deal and they can help you fix stuff thats broken, they know what they are talking about, and will provide you with their honest opinion.I will be coming here for all my home theater and hi fi audio needs, you cant put a price on 50 years of industry experience. Thank you for your help Vince!
Not your typical store. Vince and the gents at AP really know their field. Honest and fair pricing with no games. Great recommendations on used audio for your needs.Major plus...they service and evaluate everything they sell. I learn something new every time I talk to Vince. If you are looking for any used audio gear call them first.
This place is Soup Nazi for Audio Repair. Vince is a verbose engineering genius and will likely disabuse you of what youre shopping for and sell you what you really need, owing to an encyclopedic knowledge of all things musico-electronic. Its a real relief to still be able to walk into a place personally owned and run by no nonsense, cash-only cowboys with soldering guns who dont care about your feelings and know good circuits from crap. Everything I have sent there for repair was turned over in a couple of weeks fixed or improved, or I was directed to the appropriate replacement item within budget.
Nice shop. Look around. Vince was very helpful when I needed to rent equipment for a couple of dances. He even let me try a amp before I bought it. It made some clicking sounds. He said no problem, what else would you be interested in? He even gave me a fair price on 2 Technics 1200 turntables that I no longer needed.. I miss that place.
I called to inquire about bringing in an older turntable for repair and Vince kept interrupting me over and over again as I tried to explain the issue. He wouldnt let me get a word in as he kept over explaining the finer points of what could go wrong with older turntables and how much it would cost. I dont want advice on what cart to use, I want some one to listen and act like they care about what a potential customers needs. Dont second guess me, just listen. The guy just wouldnt shut up. Not going there!
Called in to ask about a speaker repair got a lecture on how I dont know anything about sound. These people are ruthless and dont care for your business unless you listen to every single misguided OPINION they tell you and claim its fact. If your not an idiot do not shop here otherwise they will run you for your money.
I called, to ask if they carried a particular $1000 microphone. Youd think a business would be happy to help take that kind of money! When I asked, I was questioned on my intentions. What do you want to do with it? This was not something I felt I had to tell - he repeatedly asked me over and over, outright telling me that microphone I wanted to buy was cheap in taste. When I defended my taste, he accused me of being defensive. Prick. Perpetually asserting a high nose, pathetic dominance over my inquiry, I began to get short with him. Lost in the sound of his own voice, I assertively threatened to hang up unless he could very simply answer yes or no to my question. Four minutes in, he said no. I hung up. My friends said I was too nice.
Owner would not even look at my technic 1200s Basically over the phone told me, you just might have to part them out. Just wanted them to physically look at them adjust them and fix any problems.
This guy knows his s***! He wont sell you crap made by manufacturers that can only be fixed by their specialists, he will show you better products for a third of the price that can be repaired at home. Very nice, great service. Hes the only guy Ill send people to these days.
Sure. Vince tells stories. Hes also a really knowledgable guy and theyre THE shop if you need something fixed. I feel comfortable giving them anything I have for service. The pricing is also really fair
Bad experience, tech fed me a bunch of BS on repair of my turntable. Couldnt get a word in when I tried to talk,he didnt want to hear it. Ended up fixing it myself. Good luck to the other guys that work there. They were at least polite.
Vince and his team are experts and dont have time to waste with small talk or humoring ppl who dont have a clear idea of what they need and how they plan to use that equip. Vince has an extraordinary knowledge of this domain and deep experience that shapes his approach to working with customers. Ive purchased a lot of home audio gear there over the years bc these guys deliver value and stand behind their work.
Vince is one of the best technicians around - let him do his thing and youll end up with a top notch repair. Make sure to call in before you bring anything in for service. They have a huge variety of vintage audio equipment for sale as well.
I had a Tascam m-320b mixing console serviced here. The console was dropped and damaged during shipping (**** you UPS) and it had all sorts of issues. I called Vinny and explained my situation and he was very helpful. I brought the board in and a week later, everything was perfectly repaired, cleaned, and brought back to spec. ... all of which he did under the budget I outlined before work began. The shop looks like an old bookstore, filled with electronics, some used some new. The owner is eccentric, but he is honest and very knowledgeable. Ill bring any future audio repairs there in the future.
Vince is a genius and a savant. That makes him very difficult to interact with. But his work is second-to-none, and if youre in the market for quality used electronics, or repairs thereof, hes your guy.
Incredibly unprofessional. Bordering on stalker Vince continued to harass me with phone calls after I was clear that I wouldn’t do business with him ever again. I had to block his number. Stay away!
Excellent !!! .He provided me with a part of my 1985 Aiwa cassete recorder that I never thought I could find it. He is really a very professional expert. Thanks
DONT BOTHER GOING HERE!!! I dropped off my Kenwood KA-109 amp there for crackling noise out of the right channel. When I got home and hooked it up, 3 hour into listening to it, the crackling started all over again. It was as if they did nothing. Realizing I would get Vince on the phone, I attempted to talk over him but he began his ranting insanely. I got the other guy (the hippy with long hair and a beard) and he was quite reasonable. He agreed to refund my money in total. Then Vince grabbed the phone from him and started up again. This man has real mental issues and needs help. Badly.
This guy is a thief. He charged me $400 to swap out the woofers in my vintage speakers, and when I got them home, the woofers were making the same noise that motivated me to bring them to Audio Pro in the first place. When I tried to talk to Vince about it, he screamed at me, and offered to fix the speakers properly for another $200. Long story short, I finally brought the speakers to New England Speaker, who did the job properly for $40. I am indescribably mad about my experience with this dick. Stay away from this place!
These guys are a dying breed. They nursed my speakers back to health and fixed my credit issues! My lows rumble and my highs are more frequent. Paxil go home. Thanks Vince
Vince repaired my JBL SA660. His work is fantastic, and he kept me in the loop through the whole process, so there were no surprises at pickup.
This is a unique place, they have some cool stuff. Enjoy it for the local flavor and cool gear.
Honest, strongly opinionated, extremelyknowledgeable and passionate about his work.
Love these guys! Vince is very knowledgeable and service is good!
Vincent will repair equipment he deems worth the repair. It will actually be repaired, unlike the job manufacturers & other shops put out, where they waived their hands over stuff they did not fix, then charged you anyway. Be prepared for an, ahem, opinionated person, but its worth it to have your equipment working, & well.
Great knowledgeable service here...
Called asking about a speaker repair. After 20 minutes of conversation (uni-directional), I learned that some speakers are toy store quality, sound guys dont know what theyre talking about, and that everything on eBay is broken. 10/10, would call again.
They were wrong about finding problem of my speaker.
This guy may be a genius, but he is impossible to do business with.He gave me explicit instructions and when I followed his crazy requirements...He flounderd. He told me all his problems...which, I dont think matter to a customer. He also tried to yell at me...That didnt work well. I would give no star if I could.Worst experience ever. I would give no star if possible.
