Horrible customer service. Couldnt figure out why my bill MORE than doubled the last 3 years. Come to find out they have 3 levels of billing from Basic/Silver service to Platinum. They jacked me to the Platinum level WITHOUT my knowledge or permission! All I have ever wanted is Basic/Silver level. Naturally they refused to refund me the difference of hundreds of dollars I have over paid. They refused to lower me to the Basic level (but did drop me to the Gold/middle level). They said their system wouldnt allow them to drop me to the cheapest level. BULL! I talked to 5 different people who quoted 5 different prices!! They REFUSED to allow me to talk to a supervisor! Wouldnt be so bad if we regularly got the paper that I have been paying out of the nose for. Gonna call corporate office in Davenport to complain.
It seems like the customer service reps have no time for a problem. If I had to do a survey they and the paper would get a 0 for pretty much everything. They say they cant help me with an issue or they make a promise that dont materialize. I used to be pleased with the service, but it doesnt seem to go with the canned message that says that you value our business. Almost ready to discontinue my paper. They also say they will give me credit, but you take out the same amount each month. If the weather is bad for 3 days we miss one or 2 papers. They say they give us credit,but the same amount comes out every month. Seems also that they want to force people on fixed income or over 65 out of the paper. They want to charge them for the digital service when 99% of them don’t own a computer. The last time I heard or saw they wanted to charge $56 for a month of all services. How can someone making less than $2000 a month afford the paper at that rate. Called in to the paper to tell them about a missing paragraph or sometimes they rearrange the paper so that certain columns are missing. If you call and leave a message they rarely get back to you. They keep raising the price of the paper and give you less paper. They brag about winning awards in journalism, but it must be for something other than the content of the courier. Been trying to get an answer about call the courier and the stock market, but they must be to busy playing games or something on their computer to answer anyone’s questions. About ready to quit the courier. They sure don’t care about the customer. The recording says that if you stay on the phone you will be connected to an operator. That’s a joke because it goes right back to the recording. Such poor customer service from them.

I called in July to cancel our subscription due to us moving out of state. I noticed today, a month later, that they are still charging me. What does it take to cancel anyway?
