We were there for the national cattle Congress Fair. It never seems to disappoint.

Went here to see the Shriners Circus. It was an awesome time. Took me back to when I was a kid when Grandpa took us to the Circus!!

What a great place.

Attended the Shrine Circus at McElroy. It was a fun show fir the kids.Overall, McElroy is a good old auditorium. Some field of view are restricted due to structural beams. The area is handicap acessible with seating at ground level.Exiting the area is slow because there is only on exit.

Hippodrome brings in events and shows that are hard to find at other indoor venues. The extreme enduro motocross was great to watch for all ages and brought in a lot of riders. Parking fills up fast. The 2 concessions have good food and there are tables at one of them.

Loved this place since I was a kid. Castle Congress fair every year. Concerts inside Hippodrome. Only downside is dirt floor probably for the rodeo. Ive seen concerts before without the dirt floor. Beach Boys, Bad Company, Dixie Chicks, Kenny Chesney, George Strait.

Was low on amo for a 22

Took the family to the extreme enduro there and everyone had a blast. My only complaint is there is absolutely zero leg room in the main seating sections. There are benches on the ends that have more room but obviously the views arent as good there.

I have been attending events here for years. Building is old & dated but sound quality is good for concerts, ect. Tix for shows are cheap compared to traveling to Cedar Rapids or Des Moines. Cost of concession actually compatible with other venues. As I see it, you gotta be able to pay for things & people usually dont work for free.

One of the best venues in town for concerts as for the sound and the age of the building. Nostalgic reasons and of course A friend of mine works

This auditorium they use for everything as its part off the national cattle congress, its used for concerts and live stock shows. This building is ok for concerts as you may get a seat were their is a roof support (supports all the way around the permanent seating, limiting view of the stage in certain spots.

Just went to a gun show at McElroy. So the same old Auditorium since the 60s.

Halestorm Concert - July 2016: I paid an $8.00 per ticket fee for the convenience of pre-paying for tickets online, for them to not be available until 1 hour before showtime, for general admission, mind you - only to show up to be sent to the ticket purchasing line! There was no separate will-call ticket line, as there should have been. People were complaining - lots of apologies, but no compensation for being so totally ripped off! Despite being aware of the problem, staff did nothing to even attempt to organize line traffic in order to relieve the situation in any way. The one line for both will-call/ticket purchasing was clear out to the parking lot! It took 1-1/2 hours to get our names checked off the will -call list and get a stamp on our hands to get in. We missed the entire first warm-up band. No air conditioning - concessions very expensive, and ran out of bottled water half-way into the concert - acoustics left a lot to be desired, as well. Expensive lesson learned - will never again attend a concert there - EVER!
