The owner who goes by “Kelvin” is rude, unprofessional, condescending and appears to have had issues with pretty much every model that has ever worked for him.I am curious which US institute gave this agency the “excellence” award, as claimed on the Boon models Instagram account? Excellence in what? Can you provide any proof of this award? Boon is not even BBB accredited.Models, please do your research. Read the real reviews, ask questions. And like the other reviewers said - there are reputable, successful modeling agencies in DC area such as Kingsley models + talents agency, THE artist agency, Liton agency and others who have better reviews, real clients and far better quality of models, as evident by their social media content. Also, I applaud to Jessie Farrell and other models to standing up for themselves and reporting him, despite Kelvin’s threats, lies and intimidation techniques.Update - I see your response to my review, Boon. I am not your “sweetheart”. Perhaps in your culture it is common and acceptable to demean and humiliate women but here you will get reported for such behavior. For a “top modeling agency” that you think to own, it seems that your models and clients think otherwise, the proof being all these 1 star reviews. So keep talking Kelvin Boon! The failed entrepreneur who acts like a child rather that an elite businessman that you claim to be.
Leaving a 1 star review because just by the owners responses to the honest 1 star reviews about the owner just shows how UNPROFESSIONAL this business is.Beware, stay on the side of caution this Kelvin person seems horrendous and the amount of gaslighting in their responses is atrocious.Stay safe people.
Amazing agency and splendid environment. I did an amazing event job with Boon and I loved it.
Kelvin Boon seems like a gaslighter extraordinaire, and you can verify for yourself by checking the other reviews. No other reputable or well-meaning business will call justified one-star reviews haters.
I was working on a project with this modelling agency around a month ago. The results of this project were amazing and I got alot of positive feedback on it.Mr. Kelvin is very professional, organized and paid extra attention to details. I would love to work with them again whenever the opportunity arises.
As a model with over 10 years of experience in the industry I can honestly say kelvin boons is the worst agent for a multitude of reasons listed below. The first negative incident happened at a hair show I worked for kelvin where he welcomed himself back stage where he saw under aged girls changing with a beer in his hand. I had requested privately that he ask the company to cover my $80 parking ticket which is standard industry protocol. He proceeded to argue with me in front of the client as to why he wouldnt ask to have this fee covered which is not professional and humiliating to say the least. I told him if he ever pulled a a stunt like that again I would leave the company. He refused to offer me any jobs for years. After he decided to offer me another job, he told me that we could be on a radio show together. I was naive and proceeded to call hundreds of radio station like he told me to for no pay and got him on so we could both get exposure in hopes of growing his company. I got him on the radio and he promptly ditched me and days of my hard work were for nothing. Another example of when he publicly abused me was when we were at a makeup show that I traveled a total of 8 hours for. I did this not for the money, but because my long time Idol Jordan liberty (a celebrity makeup artist) was at the convention and I wanted the opportunity to learn from him. After traveling 4 hours and getting to speak to Jordan liberty who taught me so much and I was so grateful to have met, kelvin walks in and demands an interview with Jordan Liberty. Jordan Liberty Denys the interview and Kelvin continues to pressure him. This made both of us extremely uncomfortable. At the end of the event the social media manager asked to speak to me and grab a few promotional photos. As I left to speak to her after letting kelvin know where I was going, he yelled across the room that I was to come back to him because he paid me. I kept walking because I have self respect and he walked faster and caught up to me. He then told the social media manager to her face that he owned me because he paid me and I wasnt allowed to speak to her. She stood up for herself telling him that she was the social media promoter for the event and that he owns nobody. I apologized to her for his actions which is not the first time Ive had to do that. The last story of many I will share is when he put me in an apartment after working a 14+ hour day and there was a plethora of pubic hair, and skin flakes on the bed. I walked into the kitchen and there was a vibrator on the counter and alcohol in the refrigerator. I had to sleep on the couch cold in my clothes for 3 hours before going back to work for another 14 hour day in heels on stage staying on, and maintaining my perfect demeanor because thats what models do. I have maintained my surface level of respect for kelvin for many years. I have remained respectful, always doing what I should do and being the best independent contractor I could be. There has not been one model I have met and I have met many, that have said anything good about Kelvin Boon. My toleration for his disrespectful personal comments towards women is my biggest regret and my greatest embarrassment. I truly do not know what made him so unfair towards women, if it was his culture, the way his father treated his mother growing up, or the way his mother allowed herself to be treated growing up. Whatever the reason I truly hope he can relearn better ways. If you are a young model I want you to seriously consider if this is who you want representing your body, and your career. Once you get into this industry, its incredibly hard to bite the hand that feeds you, even if its to protect other women. It took me 4 years to muster up the courage to write this post. Its the hardest thing to stand up against intimidating powerful men, but Im here to share some antidote, some truth.
Boon was my first agency. They are really professional and thorough. Thank you for being such a great support in my modeling career.
Boon Models is a very welcoming agency. Everyone there was so lovely (they offered me water, coffee, tea, etc. as soon as I walked in), the receptionist greeted me and held conversation as I waited in the lobby. The agent I met with was not only interested in my book, but also my personality. It was overall a very pleasant experience.
First let me say Boon Models are Amazing and very professional. They are a very selective agency, with the highest respect in the industry. They’ve already booked my daughter with the Top prestigious campaigns. We are very excited to see what’s in stored to come. This is the agency to be with, soon as we signed with Boon Models, Kelvin booked our first job the very next day. Now that’s a HUGE Factor in my book. We had tried many other agencies, every single one of them either asked for money for portfolio etc or didnt find any casting or jobs for us. And not to mention Kelvin is very professional, hardworking (he even took my call at 8 in the night) and amazing to work with. Very happy with this agency so far.
Working with Boon has been nothing short of amazing. Kelvin is always on top of his game and has his models best interest at heart. I was looking to get into fashion show modeling and being photographed and he helped set it up and I wound up being a model in the BTC hair show. Without this company I never would have had that opportunity.
I have found Boon Models very professional and organized. Through Boon I have booked and had opportunities to book high profile work. Kelvin, the owner, has always been available or has responded immediately to my attempts to contact him. Boon Models has proven it is an agency you can trust!
I just recently signed with Boon Models, answered a call for an online commercial ad and got the part! everyone was super helpful. Great people all around. I highly recommend Boon Models and look forward to working with them again soon!
My experience with Boon Modeling Agency has been very positive. I appreciate their professionalism, prompt follow up and the valuable feedback I have received that allows me to advance my career. I would highly recommend this agency.
Highly Recommended agency in town. Client since 2014 and I always hire them for my semiannual trade shows. Very professional models and Kelvin is great to work with. I absolutely recommend Boon for anyone in the area.
Great opportunities and experiences through Boon Models. Communication is efficient and organized. Bookings they put you in contact with are professional. Very straight forward and reliable agency.
I applied for this agency I hope they reply, it seems like a good quality agency! And I hope this will be the chance for me to prove myself
I had the great privilege to sign with Boon Models about a month ago. So far, my experience with the agency has been very positive. Kelvin Boon is very professional in his conduct, and there are no hidden fees involve of any kind. I have been able to book twice for promotional events during these last 30 days, and look forward of getting more working opportunities in the near future. I highly recommend Boon Modeling agency to anyone who is interested in pursuing a modeling career.
Everyone at Boon Modeling was very pleasant and easy to work with. The jobs I have been submitted for and booked have been great!
Had an extremely uncomfortable experience while attending this casting. I would avoid getting involved with this “agency”. Something about his practices doesn’t seem right and unless you want to deal with hollow threats from kelvin, I wouldn’t send in any of your information. The office space doesn’t seem to be a place where work is actually being done. He’s attempting to silence people to save whatever shred of “credibility” his “agency” has. Just look on their nonexistent social media, the agency doesn’t hold up as legitimate. Do your research, look up questions you should ask and be very cautious if you do decide to attend one of his “castings”.
Wouldn’t have left even a 1 star review if there was such option. Had the pleasure of a casting meeting recently with the guy who runs this agency at some room he rents that he calls his office on K street. Rude, condescending, will interrupt you several times while you talk. Check out this agency insta account with fake 30k followers with less than 30 likes on almost all of his posts. Not a good impression at all.I will repeat what other reviews said before me - do your search, ask questions, trust your gut. There are other reputable DC modeling agencies - T.H.E agency, Liton, Paul Wharton - that book their talents for the majority of local modeling jobs.
I have a question how much do I Need to pay? And do WE get paid for modeling??
I am extremely pleased with my experience thus far working with Boon. Kelvin is punctual and is so kind to his models. Only being with the agency for less than a month, I have already been given so many modeling opportunities and just finished walking in the BTC Hair Show as a model for Alfaparf Milano. I am ecstatic to continue working for this company!
I want to get started or look into this company, I did modeling in the passed (when I was 15 -16 ) Im now 20 and would love to get back into it !
Great company to work for, very organized and a pleasure to be a part of. One of the most professional modeling companies i have been with. I am proud to be with them and glad to represent them.
I have been a model for Boon Modeling agency for several months now and as someone with past negative modeling experiences I can say that Im extremely pleased with how well they have helped excel my career. Within three months of working with the agency I have gotten on the Huffington post, Had the opportunity to participate in the NAHA competition, and even got my first radio interview. Although you do need to be dedicated to your career, something I like about the agency is that are no hidden fees (like website) that you have to worry about. My portfolio gives a nice example of how you will be marketed on the website, just search Jessie Farrell.
My experience working with Kelvin has always been great. He is always courteous and checks on his models from time to time. He is respectful and very responsive.
Fake Agency, do not waste your time here nor sign anything! This is one of the tricky ones out there trying to save their reputation with reviews made by themselves...
Kelvin is extremely professional and everyone he chooses to work with is as well. While I am new to the agency I have only had completely positive experiences.
Kelvin is great, very professional and respectful. I really enjoy being represented by Boon Modeling Agency.
Worked for a great client. The agency paid me in a timely manner.
Great agency! Well connected in the industry and top notch communication.
Boon Modeling Agency is a top notch program. Proud to be part of the best agency in D.C.!
I have been an model for Boon Agency for over 2 years now and the owner has always shown the upmost respect. He has been trustworthy and honest thus far while looking out for his models.
Very worst company. All these reviews are fake!!!
This seems really fake, especially since they use the same photos as another modelling agency
It’s fake!
I want to get started
Very professional
