Fantastic place to rent kayaks from at a reasonable price. Girlfriend and I were coming in early Sunday morning from Raleigh, and the owners opened up early just so we could get out onto the water and beat the heat. You show up to the shop, fill out some forms and pay, then follow a golf cart carrying your kayaks to the lighthouse and launch dock. The owners do all the work for you, short of actually paddling the kayak.As for the Pamlico/Tar River, awesome kayaking. Fish jumping out of the water left and right, one almost landing in our boat, but giving us a big splash instead. Saw Ospreys dive into the water just yards away, plus little inlets on the far side of the river great for exploring. Nice to find a quiet spot away from the crowds of Wilmington, Emerald Isle and OBX.

River Vibes is perfect for a family day trip. We had smoothies and rented a paddle boat and kayaks. Everyone had a great time from the grandparents all the way down to our 3 year old! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We can’t wait to go again!

I almost lost one of the only people i love on earth, to this place and the unprofessional antics of river vibes. Several lives were almost lost and management smiled at me. They Offered no help to almost drowned victims and showed no sympathy. Didnt offer a ride to hospital or check on individuals. I wonder would it have been the same if they were white and pregnant rather than black and pregnant. ? Guess black lives dont matter to River Vibes.

We LOVE River Vibes!! Can’t say enough great things about this place. We took our family of 8, my husband and I and our 6 kids ranging from 2-16. We used the paddle boards and paddle boat. They went over all the instructions on how to be safe in the water. We wore our life vests and with their instructions couldn’t have asked for a better experience! It poured down rain on us the first time, but we laughed the entire time bc it was such a fun family outing! We can’t wait to go again this summer and try their smoothies!!

River Vibes is an amazing addition to downtown Washington!! We have had their smoothies as well as rented from them. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. If you plan on renting one of the SUP’s, peddle boats or kayaks make sure you listen to the instructions and guidelines. They did a great job explaining everything to ensure our safety and wellbeing. I can’t imagine NOT giving this place 5 stars. I would give them 10 if I could. My family can’t wait to visit again soon!!!! Yours should too!

Ill soon share my story about my experience at river vibes and i honestly hope nobody else goes through what i went through with there equipment this not a good place to go for first time paddle boating especially if your african American they not even gonna treat you with proper respect if something happens to you they will laugh and act as if they dont care if you live or die because its not they problem .
