For an entire year I have been trying to get the title to a truck I bought from them that allegedly got lost in the mail. I call and they tell me theyll call back and never do or have me on the phone and then hang up. Next step is legal action.

Bad business no respect for customers check year on vihicle brought from auction

These people are UNPROFESSIONAL. They sold my car and then told me they wanted to return it. (An auction isn’t supposed to do that!! Once it’s gone, its supposed to be gone.) Upon return, they ADDED 800 MILES ON MY CAR!! I was not informed of this. They told me to come and get my “junk”. If my car was so called “junk”, HOW CAN YOU PUT 800 MILES ON IT! That doesn’t make ANY type of sense!!!

Public auction open every Saturday for people to bid on automobile Willing to get better deal. Register first to get your auction ID or number assigned so you win the bid you can easily get your car. Pay either cash or credit. So, it is excellent place to shop for a car. Online or in site, you will always find a better deal. Washington Dc or Temple Hill those are my favorite spot as a local resident.

Do not get a car from them. Car was smoking on my way home. 😒 Wasted $1600 and months of my sanity trying to fix this car. They post the best photos of the car and states that it runs and drives when it can only turn on. I asked for a refund before I even took the car off of the lot and was denied one.

Worst place to sell your car, they will sell your car for their benefits only. Worst customer service, EVER. They are extremely rude and dont know how to talk to their clients. They disrespect people over the phone and in person. They sold my car and it was taken out of DC. They bring my car back after a week and tell me the person doesn’t want it anymore. How do you sell a car at AN AUCTION and then try to return it??? Maybe If I had experienced better customer service, I wouldn’t be so upset. I trusted them too much with helping me sell my car, only to be let down.

I have brought a cars from here dating back to Mr. Auction One which by the way is what his car tags States. He sold me my first vehicle when he was the Auctioner for the Salvation Army on New Jersey Ave NW DC. So cant really complain over decades bidding cars. I remember when made smile by say your the TV lady grandson. He always had nake of making people happy.

Thanks to the office staff, and auction workers for all you do at Capital Auto Auction.I suggest before bidding on any vehicles here to read carefully all the information posted about the vehicle clearly several times while shopping and just before the Auction Starts, you dont want to lose your money! I wouldnt recommend anyone to take this route, Capital Auto auction DC,its nothing but bunch thieves, they will keep your car for weeks, then removed parts they need from your car, just let you know later on that they couldnt sell it. And when u tried to complain about it or talk to one of the person in charge they wont want to listen or take your issue into consideration.

You can find a decent vehicle here. Its hit or miss like with any auction. The people who work in the cashiers office can be pretty rude which is why it got 3 stars from me.

This is the worst place to buy or sell a vehicle. You would have to pay $100 dollars and 10% of sell price on anything over a 1000$. They also have a poor customer service. I recommend to stay away from this place PERIOD!

Dont be fooled people, they sell what they claim to be green light cars but what they consider green light cars is a car that simply can start up! A car starting is no indication that its a good car, there could be major things wrong with it! I know auctions are about taking a chance and you buy a car as is but cmon, nobody has a $1000 or more to spend on a car that is really no good but theyre manipulating the situation to make u think otherwise! I recommend an auction in MD or VA, at least out there you get better quality cars to select from.

I was there for a live auction. Good selection and they provide details for the condition of the car. At least, enough to know what you are investing in. Overall,a good experience.

I had an encounter with Mr. Vernon 2 years ago, he assuaged my frustration only after 2 mins of conversation. Today (1/4/17), I had bought a Toyota Camry from the auction and the accompanying key will only turn the ignition, but will not open the door - in short, I was locked out. With only one call and without any question(s), Vernon said he will pay for the service to get me a new key - what a service! Thank you Vernon, I will always do business with you - Awesome!

Wanted to donate my car to a charity. The charity said that Capital Auto Auction will handle the towing of the vehicle from my home.They contacted me, but they said they wouldnt come out in the afternoon when I get home from work. They said the best they could do was a 2-hour window on a Saturday morning. I asked them to call 1 hour before arriving to which they agreed.Guy never showed up and never called. I had other things to do and left. Finally, got a voicemail a few hours later saying he was 5 minutes away. Too late.The next day I called a different charity and they accepted the car within a few hours. I feel bad for the first charity - I told them they should use a different auction company.But it doesnt end there: Capital Auto Auction called 2 days later and said the guy was there on time! They are either liars or idiots!

I got a car from temple hills, in August 2019 that ran, and when I picked it up after I paid in full, they gave me a door key only, not a key that would start the vehicle, so I call over to Brentwood hope to get help with this issue, and all I got was sorry cant help you. Its your car now. ??? Horrible management. You folks are making millions, I save up for a car spend my last, and cant get a key, from a million dollar business, OK Bad Business

Some cars are pretty good, but others have very high mileage. I bought a car with a lien release letter attached to the title and tried to register in DC, but was unable. The staff at the DMV told me I only had one part of the MD title(Capital). Mind you, I had already purchased insurance on a vehicle that I am unable to drive due to this titling issue. So after running around for about two days I finally got my title to the main branch and they sent my title off to MD so that I could register in DC. This process has taken 2-3 weeks and has been a great inconvenience. Thinking about getting my money back and going to a dealership and getting a car note. Wish me luck.

The prices of the cars are way to high for being a public auto auction you might as well go to a dealer and buy a car there because every car goes for 3500 to 5000 dollars at this auction plus u have to pay fees and taxes plus registration even the old junk cars 20 to25 years old are like 1,000 those old 1990s cars should sell for 200 400 dollars its hard to make a dollar at these auctions

I bought a car from here April 7,2018 and went to pick up around 10:15 and I noticed the radio was gone .. Saturday it was there a Kenwood or JVC radio. One of their staff took and most likely sold it!😡😡😡😡The manager wasnt concerned at all didnt do much .. In addition there,were two other individuals who had problems too.. Dont go there, they are doing a lot of crooked things here

The wait time to process vehicle purchases is appalling, and could do with an overhaul. The disconnect between this location and where most of their vehicles are held (~15minute drive to Maryland) also complicates things quite a bit, as there are constant traffic jams in the area. The people in the service windows are great at what they do, but with the resources they have, they are basically required to dig ditches with forks. Some of their practices while not illegal, are quite unethical eg. Clearing check engine light codes, and transmission problem codes. I have been a victim of both instances. So if you seek to buy vehicles with a great chance of enormous, hidden, added costs, I say buy from them.

Got the car of my dreams, good condition of the vehicule as described (bought it online), I can recommend this place period, nevertheless remember guys this is an Auction place; Buy it on your own risk with the knowledge of the vehicule before just buying it!

First auction experience ever and it was good, some cars sold at 800$ .You get a bidders number that is urs for life. Auctions are saturday 10am. U get d chance to go in on teusdays to fridays to see d cars but tge auction its self is only Saturdays 10am

You need to present ID to get a bidding number before bidding...this is new and a bit time-consuming...missed the truck I wanted but good place.

These people are rude and nasty I called on Friday to get a quote on my vehicle because of the holiday I called back to see if they could come and pick up my vehicle for the quote they quoted over the phone they said theynever gave me any amount for my vehicle and they would not give me a quote but they did I wrote it down. I spoke with the supervisor and he got nasty with me to I dont know how they stay in business if they cannot remember what they tell there clients or customers over the phone. They denied everything they said to me. I would not even give them a rating at all the rating I would give for customer service is an F because you cannot treat people like that.
