We live in New Jersey but ordered our Christmas smoked ham from Alewel via goldbelly.com and wow - never again am I buying a supermarket ham for special meals. This was the best looking and tasting ham of my life. Thank you!

Alewels stands on its own just as a butcher and a meats provider. Their reputation there is without question already. Im here to talk about these unbelievable hot sandwiches that they do between 11-2.The Reuben is the best in town and its not even close. Smoky, tender corned beef, great sauerkraut, great rye. Thousand island, although I prefer Russian. Doesnt matter though, the sandwich is incredible.The burnt ends? They defy description by mortal tongues. I was unable to speak while I ate my half. Delicate where it needs to be, crisp and chewy in the others. Great sauce. Incredible sandwiches.This is THE lunch spot in town, but it seems like people just havent figured it out yet. Ask for a sample of sweet bologna while you wait for them to make your sandwich. Itll change you.

This establishment is obviously operated with care and pride. Very clean, friendly, and they serve some really big and delicious made to order sandwiches. No negatives. Well be back, worth the 35 mile drive.

I really like this place! They have an amazing selection of meats and cheeses. They even have a grill/butcher box, which you can mix and match different flavors. This trip I went in there for some bacon. They had a nice selection and it was on sale. It wasnt super fatty either. It was delicious. They also carried incurred bacon for those that are looking for no nitrates in there meat. The staff was happy to show me around and explained what they offer. They were super friendly and helpful. Definitely stop by and check out Alewels! Love supporting local!

Smoked roast beef sandwich was fabulous. Tender roast beef, spicy horseradish sauce, & fresh bun, Wow. Hubbys smoked combo sandwich was just as fabulous. Highly recommend.

I went in there to just buy one item. While I was in there I saw that they had a new product. Bacon wrapped sausage. I bought it along with the cheese curds, bacon and a rib eye.Here we are less than a week later and hubby went back today and bought another ribeye, more bacon wrapped sausage and more bacon and cheese curds.Looks like one of us is going back tomorrow to buy more bacon wrapped sausage. This place is awesome!

Looking for the special cut off meat, or just good quality meat? You have found the place. Meat from the butcher has more taste than factory raised meat. Once you shop here, you will not want to eat run off the mill meat any more.

I walked in and was immediately welcomed by both workers. John made a point to come over and see what I could be helped with. It was my first time smoking meat and John gave me several good tips and was very helpful and knowledgeable about there products! Highly recommend!

The best fresh and cured meats anywhere

INCREDIBLE products! Not only their meat, but their selection of wines, cheeses, and other artisan goods were a nice surprise! Quality of meat is unmatched and I truly refuse to buy grocery store meat anymore! They ship everything I need to me out of state and are always quick and efficient. Best local shop!

We have been getting our summer sausage done here for years and years. This year is the first time that the deer sausage has been mushy. It falls apart as we are holding it. Very strange. Still has good flavor though.

Ive never been to a neat butcher shop before. This place is genuinely neat. They offer package deals, theyre competitively priced, theyre friendly, the store is spotless. We went their just after shopping at Walmart, and it was a powerfully different, positive experience. They literally sweetened the deal by giving me a jar of caramel.

So, I dont know if my experience was just extraordinary or I caught them on a bad day... two or three trips in a row but Ive never left here fully satisfied. Ive been told multiple times that they cant or wont do a special cut for me, and that the only fresh meats they have are the cuts that have been in the chilled display counter for who knows how many hours. On one occasion I went into the store looking to purchase two Porterhouse steaks and some sirloin for my birthday dinner and was told that the T-bones in the case were the only thing similar to a porterhouse they had, and that no they would not be able to cut me a porterhouse. I ended up leaving with a dry aged ribeye that was admittedly very good. On my most recent trip I was looking for Tri-tip or flat iron steak deboned and cut into strips for Stir Fry, but I was informed that the only Tri-tip or flat iron they had was frozen, and that again they would not cut it for me.Again, I do not know if my experiences were outliers or if I am expecting too much of the highest rated butcher shop nearby, but I have sadly been disappointed.

The best meat shop in Missouri! We were shown all the Christmas hams and given the lowdown on what would be best for our needs since we were doing something a little different this year. Our ham last year was soooo good we had to come back. Of course we had to get some of our family favorite meat sticks and Alewel branded beef jerky. In addition, my husband says the lunch sandwiches are spot on! Go to Alewels, get good meat, and support a local business!

If you want a GREAT steak they have it. I have been tast testing their meats for years. They are more expensive than Walmart but oh so much more tender and flavorful. Their ribeye steaks only need salt and pepper. Doesnt need fancy seasoning, tenderizer or steak sauce. Thats a great steak in my book! Also, they have the very best summer sausage I have ever had (my personal favorite is the one with cheese and jalapeno). Their jerky won 1st place in Southern Living Magazine. They also have a deli case, lots of home cured sausages, bacon, hams, etc. smoked or regular pork chops, james, jellies, pickles and much more. What a little treasure and so conveniently located south of Walmart. Worth a trip!!!!

The best brats I’ve ever eaten! Alewel’s Country Meats has truly outstanding meat. Wide variety of items on the menu at reasonable prices- my favorites include apple brats, beef jerky and the beef log snack sticks. Their beef and cheese summer sausage is definitely a crowd pleaser at football tailgates. Great service, as well as very friendly and knowledgeable employees. This is a fun place to buy fresh meats and cheeses. You never know what youll find..I love the different jerkeys. The meat always taste fresh. They also make good sandwiches.

I absolutely love this place. Im so upset i lived in Warrensburg for three years before i finally visited! However, Ive been a very satisfied customer for the last four years. They consistently have the best meats (of all varieties) and are very reasonable in regard to pricing. They will even cut steaks to your own specifications right in front of you. Their ribeyes LOOK like ribeyes, unlike most grocery stores where the only way to differentiate cuts is via the sticker. My only problem is that the hours make them a little hard to get to during the work week, but thats more of a me problem. Given the choice, Id choose Alwels meats over those of any other store in the region.

Had the burnt ends sandwich today and was very happy. As a person that does alot of smoking, the meat was done very much like my own. Hard to find nicely done meats.

Small cozy store. Delicious unique products. Our favorites are the kebabs prepared there and the stuffed chicken breast.

Super fresh and great range of products at an affordable price point. My favorite is the jalapeno bacon, and my boyfriend is a huge fan of Alewels jerky and prime rib. Plus they are the nicest people. Highly recommended!

Alewels Country Meats - all I can say is, FANTASTIC! Between their customer service, catering and products available, this establishment is top notch. I am not sure if there is such a thing as fancy meats, but I can tell you, that is what Alewels offers. If ever hosting a BBQ and want to WOW your guest with some great steaks, this is the place to purchase them. Personal favorite - beef logs. They will change your life, trust me. SHOP LOCAL. Went in to by some brats for the grill. I thought, Awells meats, how could I go wrong? Bought into the buy 4 get one free. Never had a tougher caseing in what seemed quite flaverless, mono tasting rolled gunk! Say I cant cook or know what Im doing. Youll see. Johnsonville from Walmart exceeded these and we wont even talk cost!

You have to try it all. I still dont know which one is my favorite. I order from them online all the time. Great customer service!

Hands down Alewels meat is the way to go for any get together! Always a big crowd pleaser. My favorites are the brats and the jerkey, however you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. I would highly recommend it!

Do not trust this company to handle your products! We took our country ham here to be sliced. It took them a week to slice it it should have taken 10 mins. Then when we picked it up they said over half of it had gone bad. If you know anything about these hams you know they dont go bad they can hang for a year and get a little bit of mold on them you just wash off the mold and the ham is still good. This place shouldnt be in business lying and stealing from hard working people makes me sick. I will never step foot in here again I would recommend the same to anyone.

My most perferred place to buy pork from you can not beat thier buy a half or whole hog its inexpensive and a great deal. I have had a lot of deer processed there over the years too.There is a wide selection of meats to pick up by the pound. They also have a sectiin that can make you some sandwhichs.Thier jerky and meat sticks are the best still but I miss the old sticks that had the casing on them they were the absolute best. I think they still sell them at the Missouri state fair at thier booth .Never have disapointed me yet been doing bussinrss with them since 1980 or so.

I drive over an hour from Kansas City every year with my boneless deer meat for Alewels specialty meats. I would put their jalapeno and cheese venison summer sausage against any in the country its second to none!!

Alewel County Meats has the best brats you will ever taste! Traditional, apple, jalapeño, cheese, and chipotle! I cant pick a favorite because they are all so good. Additionally, their beef and cheese summer sausage is a family favorite. If you are in the area, be sure to stop in! You wont be disappointed. They also take online orders too!

We had a half of beef processed here. To say that I am highly disappointed would be an understatement. We paid top dollar for the processing and our strip steaks were about 1 1/2 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches long. Smallest steaks I have ever seen. We requested bone in ribeyes and we got a ribeyes the size of a small cell phone. No bone. Called and spoke with Randy and he blamed the producer for the size and quality of the meat. If all cuts of the beef were incredibly small, I might except that explanation. However the roasts were of average size large even. As for the bone not being in the ribeye, Randy offered me $25 to be sent in a check. I tried to bring the meat back to the store and speak with Randy in person, but of course he had an important appointment and would not be available.All I can say is have your meat processed elsewhere!

They have no idea what the quality of their hogs are that theyre selling to the consumers. When I asked Are the hogs you sell to the consumer given any steroids and are they NON GMO the response was We dont know. How are you going to sell something like meat when you know nothing about the quality?!? Wont go back!
