I love Silver Sneakers on Tuesdays! Their equipment in the gym is top notch and sanitized frequently.

I always have a GREAT workout at LA FITNESS! Its clean the staff is polite and the trainers are knowledgeable!

The music at this gym is so distractingly loud.rven tho 85% of the clientele has their own type of entertainment in their ears. They will have you believe its because of the Esporta Way so it cant be turned down. So lets travel down the road of acceptable practices of the new Esporta Way.People are allowed to not only play basketball and workout SHIRTLESS they are also allowed to do photo shoots or talk on facetime in the locker room area while people are changing (check other reviews for proof of this practice. Trainers and patons alike are allowed to leave weights literally everywhere in the gym. Also,. If you dont like the sound of squeaking then stay away from any machine that has any type of pivoting action or any handle or bar that is made of metal. A little WD40 would go a long way here.

I am not sure why the ppl complaint about this location? My 1st impression was great from hygiene to kindness of the staff.I will update my review couple weeks later.My update is positive as I guessed, just closing at 8pm is too early.

This place should be shut down. It is a shame to the LA Fitness franchise. The bathrooms were destroyed and trash was everywhere. Garbages over flowing. Many machines dont work. I was harassed in the locker room by a bunch of teenagers. Once there was nobody at the front desk and it looked like anyone could walk right in. Finally, the free personal trainer I was supposed to work out with didnt show up! Now I go to the Roseville or Troy locations which are 5 stars compared to this.

Amazing gym, sometimes a little too packed, and if you workout in the evening inside the room with the boxing bags, the exercise class instructor will try to kick you out, but dont move, because you paid for the membership, they have no right to kick you out if you were already there.

Looks like the changeover to new management has somehow rubbed off on the patrons. I still see dumbbells left on the floor and weight plates stacked like a chimp did it, but its noticeably less frequent than before.

I figured I would give working out again for the first time since everything got shut down since most of my other friends have had success at their gyms taking things seriously and actually enforcing cleaning and sanitation. I have been a member of this gym for years without any real complaints. Walked in to find less than half the staff taking the mask policy seriously. They placed a table with disinfectant bottles so you can spray down the equipment before and after your sets, which was nice. Spraying down machines is pretty much entirely on the honor system. For the most part people were courteous, kept their distance, and cleaned down the machines as they should. Unfortunately that quickly changed. Sanitation seems to be entirely on gym patrons. Staff is obviously not paid enough to deal with people who dont need to wear a mask because Its their right. More people not wearing masks continued to show up to work out and not clean up after themselves. I was really hoping that after being closed for so long the gym would actually take things seriously. I will try the Royal Oak location and if I get the same result I will cancel our family memberships for good.

Changing my membership after 30daysup in August. Smh this trainer lie to me about how men goes there. I paid cash for the whole year up front, an some how LAF is charging me 35 -45$a month for personal training that Ive never ask for... I never ask for a personal trainer

I like this location, but I am mad in general for not going back to old hours. Not sure how closing two hours earlier help reduce COVID spread. Closing at 5 or 6 on weekends is criminal in my opinion.

Ive been visiting this gym for about 3 years as it is close to where I live. The weightlifting equipment is good, typical for LA fitness standards. Gym is crowded between 4 and 7 on weekdays, at other times and all weekend it noticeably less crowded which is nice. The staff is nice and I think they do a good job keeping the place as clean as I would expect a gym to be.The only issue that I have with the gym is more than half of the treadmills are in need of repair. Many of them work fine if you are using the treadmill for walking, but if you intend to go above 6mph, they start to shake and make a ton of noise as if the motor is about to give out.. sometimes they still partially work with these issues, other times they are not able to make it to the speed that you set. Either way, it is clear that maintenance and repairs have been needed for years on most of the treadmills but has not happened.EDIT: WiFi has been fixed - it was previously broken for 5 months.

I love LA Fitness but this one general is always a mess specially in the men’s changing room. The equipments are missed placed as always. The staffs are friendly and that’s the good thing about that place.

I dont even want to give them a star but have to in order to post this. The locker room, bathroom and showers are dirty and it stinks very badly in there. The showers havent been clean in at least 8 months because I havent smelled the strong cleaning product since then. The sauna hasnt worked in about 4 months and In the summer I also had to kill a couple of cockroaches while I was getting ready. Ive noticed all of these things in the past year and the employees just sit around and not do anything, they are very rude and have terrible customer service it tells you a lot about there manager who hired them. I put photos of the pig sty but I dont see them if they dont show up on here ill just post them on Facebook and Tweeter.

Not bad. Most of the machines and benches were open. You just have to wipe everything down when youre done.

I used to go to the LA Fitness in Clinton township, everyone wore masks and the gym was generally well cared for. This gym is terrible compared to the great experience I had at the other one. No one wearing masks, employees are not even trying to enforce the rules, weights are just thrown anywhere on the floor, no one is wiping down equipment, the list goes on. This gym is disgusting, and the fact that no one is even asking guest to wear their mask correctly is the cherry on top. Do not go to this gym, take the time and go to another one.

Basic gym doesnt have all the bells, whistles and updates. Equipment is outdated but it gets the job done.

I am not happy with them right now scents march when all this got started I called them an ask that my account be frozen an I would pay the 10.00 a month fee but they didnt do that they have been taken my member ship payment out of my account I call them after the first time an ask them to stop I reminded them about me calling an asking them to freezing my account but still they kept on taken my money out my account I told them I was not coming to gym with everything that was going on so no I am not happy with LA fitness at this time

I’ve been going to this LA Fitness for about 2 years now. And the staff is awesome and knowledgeable. This facility has everything you need and more to get a great workout in.

Gets the job done 🤷‍♂️Facility for sure needs updating and better management. Usually theres only one maintenance man managing the sanitation of the whole gym, recipe for an untidy gym.

Perfectly fine place to work out. They have lots of space, and a ton of different equipment for any kind of workout. Members can even bring a guest every time. Great place to go with your friends to get in shape.

Great club, nice new equipment, hot sauna and pool are also a nice perk! Great value at a great price. I see LA fitness taking over and wiping out all other major gyms. I was helped by Marcel, he is an excellent trainer, and I would highly recommend him. LA fitness Warren is forever my go to gym.

This place smells like sweat and curry during the evenings. The basketball court is always packed and the pool looks like if I take a dip in it I’ll walk out with super human abilities. Please focus on cleanliness. It’s your cheapest commodity available.

Came to the club today and as I was parking, I was informed by the other members that jacuzzi broke down “again” I went in and asked the front desk clerk when they are anticipating to fix it. He said “probably Monday” He was nice. This is not his fault, but whoever manages this club. It is happening a way too often here, which is very disappointing and a rip off. The membership costs more at LA Fitness clubs than other brand clubs, because LA Fitness clubs have a jacuzzi, which doesn’t do any good if it’s often broken.

I come here for Pilates at 4:30 and Spin at 5:30 every Tuesday. Both instructors are amazing. Womens bathroom seems clean when Ive had to use it and front desk employees are nice. The parking lot needs help though, its falling apart.

This is my original gym, Ive been to many la fitness gyms in country, I must honestly say I do prefer this one....all gyms have issues due to the fact you are dealing with the public at a high volume in and out and ALL TYPES people...that being said, the management does a very very good job at keeping the gym and locker rooms in a grade of an A in my opinion. I dont see equipment broken down, and staff is very helpful and friendly. So that tells me that management has a big hand in that environment of pleasant greetings and service.

This is a good place to workout. Management can do more improvements. Donaban is young gentleman working on sales is very helpful and knowledgeable.

My experience at L.A. fitness was remarkable. Brett was very professional answered all my questions and was very imfrormed. He made a great first impression and was down to earth because of that I will be a member for a long time and look forward to working out there. The general manager there is really nice. He’s good at making you feel comfortable and I can tell he really cares about his gym. I’ve seen him constantly picking up trash and cleaning cleaning up after people even though he doesn’t have to and he’s pretty much always there smiling and making people laugh. I wish the gym by my house had a manager like him.

Only go there in the mornings, less crowded, the afternoons are we too crowded with the younger crowd. Who are only worried about how good they look and standing around talking instead of working out. The machines are always crowded in the evenings and the place always reeks like marijuana in the evenings. I love going there in the mornings, and mornings only.

This rating may change, but everything was going well until my fitness assessment turned into a used car salesman situation.Hey LA, if you wouldve allowed me to just pay for a months worth of personal trainer I would have. But only offering a 6 or 12 month guidance. Nope

I went to this gym . Lets say dirty 70% of the time. People are rude and inconsiderate. No guest NO Gym. Be nice to your guest.

Staff is nice, but the gym apparently does not get cleaned or maintained regularly. There are hairballs, wads of tissue, and other random items that will remain in the shower stalls for several days. Additionally, the mens shower stalls now have flies, and it appears to be getting worse by the week. The shower walls and curtains also appear to have black mold or something on them, which may be a major safety hazard. Also, as of today, most/all of the dispensers have been low or empty for multiple days. For a gym that isnt even 24 hours, it doesnt make sense that the gym does at least clean the facilities once a days, ideally before opening or after closing for the day.In addition, the equipment at this gym is a bit on the older/mixed age side, especially for the cardio equipment. There are a couple of rowing machines that appear to either have rust on them or may just be dirty as well.

Whirlpool is often out of order for one week, sometimes two weeks at a time. They always brush it off, such as closed for the future improvements, motor broke, heater broke, we trying to fix it, etc. Things are so bad here, that are trying to sign up people for two weeks for “free” Don’t fall for it like I did. Nothing is free. They get you one way or another. I am canceling my membership and I am going to lose money ( it’s just the way their system works) I don’t anticipate them fixing the whirlpool. It’s almost always broke.

Visiting Michigan for hockey and my parents are members in Tampa- have been for years. Watched as the front desk let 2 guys come in and try out their basketball court for free and then turned around around and charged my mom $15 for the hour so I could get a workout in. BTW- We arrived 1 hr before closing. Horrible customer service!! Bet if we said we were moving here and trying out gyms they would have thrown a weekly pass at me! Didn’t even point us in the direction of the changing rooms- we had to ask. Again, horrible customer service. Definitely NOT bringing any hockey team I’m on to train here while on the road. So glad they made made their $15!!! Maybe they should give their sister club in south Tampa a call to see how a gym should be run. And how members should be valued. Just an idea.

Only one small swimming pool.

I was checking out gyms in the area. First, I went to the LA fitness in Troy. Got a guess pass from them. I worked out there once. Went to the Warren gym as it is closer to work for me. The salesman checked me in and had to look at my guess pass from the other gym. Turns out, he maxed out my pass so I couldnt go back to the other gym. He had to know what time I was coming in to work out in the Warren gym, as I unknowingly had my pass maxed. My pass didnt work and the salesman told the front desk, I was good to come in. Gym was packed, sauna didnt work, and couldnt do my work out. I only found out I had my pass maxed once the Troy gym called and said Wow, we see you have been coming in a lot when in fact I had only been there once. Such a dirty move on their part. I dont recommend LA fitness to anybody. If you want to working out seriously. Pay the extra money and sign up at a Crossfit gym.

I do appreciate everything the gym has gone through to Ill reopen again from the cleaning standards to occupancy limitations however 8pm is just too early to close.

Very Clean and not many people in the morning. Plenty of social distancing.

Was going to sign up and got the guest pass first to see how it was in person. Way too pushy in sales, would get called twice a day to try and get me to sign up. Felt like I had a clingy ex; turned me off from joining... just going to work out at home or rejoin m fitness. I dont like being bothered at the gym, even car salesmen dont try this hard. Cut the employees some slack so they can focus on the place itself instead of pushing memberships to the point of being annoying.

This could be a good gym if it was kept clean. The womens locker room was filthy. Next to no toilet paper in the restroom. The garbage was over flowing. The front desk young woman challenged me when I told her about the toilet paper. I wont come back to this facility. Truly a shame.

The best gym Ive ever met in my entire life

I use this gym 5+ days a week and I have nothing negative to say.Staff is very friendly and gym is kept up.I was reading a few of the questions on Google and was really surprised with the few negative post.Great gym, great people, period.

I love this location because of just that, its location. This place is incredibly close to my residence and for that reason (alone) I come here near-daily.The staff are nice and always pleasant. They do their best and maintain the places upkeep.Maintenance of workout equipment, however, is another story altogether. More often than not, multiple machines are out of service and remain that way for months-on-end. I cannot wrap my head around that poor turn around time. I dont quite understand why it takes so long for them to replace, for example, a missing pin in a weight stack, or to fix a broken cable pulley etc.Additionally, their treadmills - almost collectively - are dangerous and old. The tread often slips beneath your feet and you find yourself almost losing balance, getting jolted in the process. Furthermore, some treadmills will shut-off abruptly and cause the same unbalanced response. This is flat-out dangerous and exposes the club to litigious situations.Additionally, the clean-up crew (person I should say, as its usually a 1-man show) has the highest turnover I have ever seen. I suggest they hire more than one person to do this job and to better compensate them as they are constantly running through employees for this job. That suggests poor compensation. I genuinely feel bad for their janitorial staff.I hope they address the treadmills and slow turnaround time for their faulty equipment repairs!Thanks for your time.

In the past two years hot tub at this facility has been out of order for anywhere between 4 - 14 days. When it is in order, it is cold on Wednesdays (cleaning day) If you just looking for a place to work out, this club is fine. We joined LA Fitness and were willing to pay more, because they advertise hot tub. We will be looking into other options.

This club has the best variety of working machines. Reasonably clean, maintained. Not crowded, but fairly attended by diverse group. As an out-of-towner, I can tell its a popular location by locals.

This club has been a huge disappointment. Whirlpool is always cold all day on Wednesdays, which I adopted to. They said it’s due to cleaning. Today is Tuesday and it’s cold too, which is not the 1st time. It has been out of order away too often and it appears as they don’t view this as a problem. I wouldn’t recommend to join.

Bathrooms are dirty, tissues are all over the place. Jacuzzi has been out of service over a few months. Equipments are old and some are broke. This used to be a great gym. This location is really hurting LA fitness corp’s reputation. Compared to other locations this below its standard.

Hot tub never works!Beware Indians and Chinese territory, and in the sauna they scream when they speak in their language not caring about others around them, and always putting water in the sauna rocks which can cause a fire!!

I was a member in 2013, left the state and came back, rejoined in Feb of 2018. I love the fitness classes! The Gym needs to be cleaner.I got numerous phone calls after joining this year about My free fitness assessment. I finally made an appointment so they would quit calling me. This is so they can talk you into personal training. I worked with a trainer for 5 years in the past. So of course I asked if they were certified. Brad Baumgartner assured me they were. I found out later they got to in house LA Fitness training, which probably costs a small fortune as well. I signed up for 6 months, I dont know how I managed to not notice that the training was for 30 minutes, at 50 dollars FOR 30 MINUTES!!! The program cost 200/month for once a week at 30 minutes I tried to quit since it wasnt really training anyway and of course with the contract, they keep taking your money. It is a money grab plain and simple. I have to go in person to quit or they keep charging me.They lost my business Forever

In the functional sense of being an exercise facility - this LA Fitness serves its purpose which is why I didn’t choose to give only 1 star.Outside of that, this location is easily the worst of the 3 on Mound Rd in Macomb. Several machines are out of service. Spa facility is down. There are patches and holes in the wall. Broken mirrors. Shower stalls are not ideal; ABC gum in them, the ledges are dirty, etc.It stays relatively busy with GM nearby and unfortunately this location is close to work. Hopefully some changes can be made to get this up to the LA Fitness standard as this one is far behind the Troy, Royal Oak, and the other ones on Mound I mentioned before.I hope none of those members have this as their “home” gym because they are seriously lacking what LA Fitness has to offer.

Kind of a mess.. Most people that go here dont care about others. The company itself cares nothing about you. One of the instructors became verbally outraged because I wouldnt leave when his class was about to begin. He began assaulting me verbally and then tried physically. I reported this incident to LA fitness corporate and they did nothing.

This place is a scam full of empty promises.Editing my review to add: the person I talked to at corporate is absolutely amazing and I am so greatful to her for helping to resolve my issues. Definitely wont recommend going to the warren location for anyone, but I will say I am please with how corporate resolved my problem quickly. I dont like writing bad reviews, but this place is absolutely dirty. The mirror by the free-weights was covered in marks and the trash cans would have paper towels left out on the sides. This gym needs to hire more custodians or something. Also the gym is smaller then it looks, most of the time treadmills are either broken or all being used, same with much of the other equipment. Staff is fine, but the overall gym itself is pretty bad. Clean the place up!

I met this guys Jackson who helped me to sign up for a membership. He is one of the worst guy to work with and also a big lier. So he signed me up in Nov saying he will waive off the one time fee of $24.99 during sign up. But when he charged to my credit card he charged that one time fee. On asking him he said it will be refunded in the next billing cycle of Dec. I waited for 1 month and did not see the refund. On asking him, he said it will come off the next month bill in Jan. So I waited for one more month. Now during Jan I got a refund of $24.99 and I felt everything is settled now. In Feb when I visited the gym after 2 months I came to know that my account was under freeze during the month of Jan, which I did not request for. On carefully going through the billing history I found this out. In Jan he charged me $34.99 (which is the monthly membership fee) and on the same day he put my account into freeze. I never gave him or asked him to put my account to freeze. So now LA fitness refunded me $24.99 because I put the account on freeze for the month of January. From this I came to know that 1) He put my membership into freeze just to cook up this refund story 2) never gave me a refund of the one time fee of $24.99 I paid during sign up.He also misguided me regarding using a empty gift card to cancel the membership.Worst every experience with LA Fitness and the worst guy I ever met in my life is that Jackson. Will never every sign up with LA Fitness ever in my life.

Something is always out of order. Ladys sauna room has been Scheduled for service for at least 5 days and its not the 1st time. Pool & whirlpool are presently in order, but have been out of order for extended period of time in the past on more than one occasion. No problem with exercise equipments though. But for 30$ or more a month I expect sauna, pool & whirlpool working or at least being repaired in a reasonable amount of time, because if I just want to exercise, competitors prices are 10-15$ I am paying for sauna, pool & whirlpool, but cant use it. Poorly maintained place.

Too many people hugging free weights and not putting them back in place after done with...no need to have 5 sets next to you if all you are going to use is 1. Management needs to manage/remind members of common courtesy and general rules. Seen this many times as reason I go Big Beaver location. Also steam room not working half the time.

This is an okay location. You can meet some decent people. The machines are alright could be better.

I was a little hesitant about coming to this location due to the poor reviews however I was pleasantly surprised. I have been to many gyms and stopped going to LA fitness in the past due to unclean facilities and lack of care to address this concern. That said, no gym is going to be spotless all the time and LA is no different. I have been going to this location for about 2 weeks now and every morning I see someone cleaning the womans locker room. As someone who uses the locker room and showers daily, I appreciate this! The front desk staff is nice enough and the gym is spacious.

This location needs help. Bathrooms disgusting. Florida locations were opposite. Clean. Class leaders that r good r few and not the normm. I can think of one on tuesday night that continues to hang on despite few participants

Worst place! every single thing you will see “scheduled for service “ which in took more than months to fixed. Specially Sauna lack of maintenance. Also parking lot full of potholes all over..Bottom line Best options you to chose your location different LA fitness maybe Royal oaks probably extra $5 a month which is worth it. Poorly managed club. Spa is often closed and there is always an excuse and skepticism. I can put up with it being cold every Wednesday due to cleaning. But every other week is just too much. I am going to cancel my membership, even though I am going to lose money ( they don’t refund initiation fee )

I had a very unpleasant experience with a district manager of this club (Samantha if I spelled it right) I was leaving town on the 11th and froze my membership for a month. They didn’t let me freeze when I need it, because you can only freeze it before your billing cycle. My billing cycle starts on a 5th. So I asked the corporate if I could have a 3 day pass as a courtesy. I needed on the 6th, 8th & 10th. Corporate told me it won’t be a problem, club manager agreed as well and I was ready to go until I spoke to the district manager who was very unhelpful, skeptical & had a very abrasive attitude. She told me that she is the boss and that she’s not going to allow this. After being a long time member, I am very disappointed and would not recommend any of the clubs that are under this district manager’s supervision. After they sign you up & got your money, they don’t care. I was going to recommend two couples who were very eager to sign up, but after I told them what happened, they don’t want to sign with any LA Fitness.

Did a week pass and told them in person i didnt want a membership. Over two weeks later they billed me. Called an asked for a refund and was told they cant verify who you are over the phone despite having my number on file..Edit: im going to have to cancel my card. Im not local and would have to come in to cancel or ve charged month to month. Even though no contract.

L.A. Fitness is my favorite gym to go to for a work out. I enjoy the atmosphere and the staff is friendly and helpful. I have to get my cardio in so the treadmill is always a part of my program. Its never a far drive from me and the wait to get to machines is good, well, sometimes at the beginning of the year when everyone makes their New Year Resolution.I look forward to working out for many years to come and the value for the investment is great. My membership renewal is less than $120.00 a year because Ive had it so long. A few workouts a month more than pays for this. For me fitness is for life and Ill me going here as long as I am living.

This LA Fitness club at 12 & Mound has a big problem, at least for me. The swimming pool is out of order since... forever. Last week they had a sign that Its closed for two days, then yesterday that department has been notified and today I was told there are still issues and the pool is still closed until... For what they charge I expect the pool, sauna and whirlpool to be in order, otherwise I can go to planet fitness for much much less if I just want to exercise.

Beware of Contract!LA Fitness will try to put you in long term contract when you sign up for Trainer, so make sure you read your documents well before signing electronically.
