Bostons Best Chimney rebuilt a chimney and installed a liner on my triple decker and they were excellent. They were extremely reasonably priced compared to roofers and other dedicated chimney professionals. Both the office personnel and the ground crew were communicative, punctual, and courteous. Shawn and Mike answered all of my questions throughout the build and respected the property and our neighbors. The end result is high quality and I would definitely recommend.

We had an inspection done and they discovered that we needed a liner put in because the mortar inside the chimney had crumbled away over time. While the liner wasnt cheap, they fit us in the same day as the inspection. They were incredibly nice and polite and informative. They really gave me a sense of confidence in what I was having them do. I will definitely use them again and I recommend them.

Ill start with the good- they gave me an estimate just days after I called, and the price was very fair. They showed up right on time to do the work. What I didnt like- during the project they asked my wife if they could borrow some of my tools? They also broke our garden hose and didnt tell us, and the cleanup was so so. That said, they replaced the garden hose without complaint.

Asked Boston Best Chimney to do three jobs. Fix brick arch over garage, redo blue stone steps at front of house, and repoint and repair brick work around the house. They did a great job on all three jobs. Punctual, proactive, courteous, and went and fixed small issue without asking or adding to the bill. Very happy with the crew.

Our appointment was several weeks out but as this is the busy season we didnt feel that was unreasonable. On the day of the visit, we were informed that one of the two chimney caps was damaged, was allowing water to enter the chimney, and was also open to animal entry. We paid $99 for the visit, and were quoted $375, approximately, for a full chimney cap replacement and installation. We were told that measurements had been taken for the replacement cap, and that the company would call on Monday to schedule it. No call was received on Monday. A call was placed to the company at least two times during the following week, with a promise for a call back once the technician could be contacted for his measurements. This company NEVER called back. If they didnt want to do the job, they should have been honest and state so, but to simply fail to call back is unprofessional. Definitely NOT Bostons Best Chimney.

I called BBC to evaluate my chimneys and help me figure out why my entire house smelled of smoke for a week after we used our fireplace. I assumed that a good cleaning was needed because we are new to the house and have no idea when the prior owners did it. The customer service rep explained on the phone the fees for the evaluation and the cleaning itself, if it was needed, and I was given a 2 hour time frame as to when the tech would be at my door.Andrew arrived within that time frame and fully explained to me what he was going to do after listening to my concerns about the chimney. He was able to diagnose the issue right away after looking at the relationship of a higher section of roof to the chimney opening and he gave me several options to correct the issue. It was apparent that his knowledge of how chimneys and heating systems work was very high. He was professional, thorough in his explanations, and, here is what I appreciated most: he was completely pressure free. In fact, he recommended some tactics I could use to try and correct the problem before I invested in any alterations. I am confident that I will need to take his advice and make some alterations to keep my house smoke free during fireplace season, but I was impressed that he didnt come across too strong. He kept everything clean and was very considerate of my house as well. When the time comes for any further chimney work or cleaning, be assured I will be calling Andrew directly, he left his cell # to use on my invoice. Top notch service.

Rich from Boston’s Best Chimney came out to my apartment in Boston yesterday for a removal of what my roommates and I believed to be a dead bird. The rotting bird caused black flies to flood our home... Rich fit us into his already busy and tight schedule. Upon arrival he and his assistant were extraordinary kind and clean! When they opened the damper I couldn’t believe what was found. At final count there were 5 deceased birds and one deceased squirrel. While I was gagging in the background Rich held up a bird for me to take a picture for “memorabilia” lol. He then went around and shock vacuumed the remaining black flies which was way beyond what that had agreed to. I could have cried. What they did for me, and how this company treated myself and my roommates was so unbelievably kind, professional, and caring. It speaks volumes about a company when they help a vulnerable population (a female renter who would never have a clue how to even open a chimney damper and also someone who was extraordinary distressed about this situation) I cannot recommend this company enough! Rich even showed me pictures of the animals he has captured in chimneys and we were all able to share some laughs. This company has new ownership (so you can ignore older reviews) and I found them to be punctual, responsive, thoroughly knowledgeable, and very fairly priced. I got a liner put in for many hundreds less than other quotes. Very happy and would highly recommend.

Chad and his crew did an amazing job from start to finish. We bought a house built in 1906 with the original chimney, which hadnt been swept or inspected in a long time, and was used for wood burning fires infrequently by the previous owners. While we thought all wed need was a sweep to have a fire, it turned out the flue tiles showed signs of water damage from many years of being uncapped.The job ended up being more involved than wed expected, and the work Bostons Best Chimney did was amazing. Their knowledge of the nuances of chimneys was incredible, and everything was explained in a detailed-yet-understandable way ahead of time.Once they started working, everything was taken care of in half a day. With even more detailed instructions on the work they did and the best ways to prep and build fires, we were sitting in front of a warm fire 24 hours later. We highly recommend them!

There were no glaring problems, I just didnt feel confident in their inspection. The Technician basically flashed a mirror up the chimney then immediately went on the roof. The damper wasnt even inspected and I didnt have a feeling of confidence when they asked for the $99 payment. Again, nothing egregious, but would not recommend based on my experience.

Two men came to sweep our chimney. The job took less than 15 mins total. And I think most of that time was to survey the chimney and the heating system, not do actual chimney cleaning.They charged $195 for this service, which I think is expensive. They also wrote up two suggested pieces of work that they wanted to do: putting in new pipe in the furnace flue for $3000 and rebuilding the chimney for another $3000. Before they advised me of this needed work, I did not know it was possible that it might be needed. (The house has not been inspected in these areas since 2004, so it is possible that the work is now needed, but there were no issues whatsoever back then. I have had the chimney cleaned in about 2010, but that person didnt comment on any issues with the chimney / furnace flue.)It is possible that we need this work, but their lack of knowledge of our heating system (it is gas, and it has been for 25+ years; they said that it was oil) did not inspire confidence.I will certainly go to other companies to get their opinions before I get any further work done with this company.

This company saved me! Not only do they do great chimney work, but in total desperation, I called them to remove roof snow after suffering from ice dam leaks (THOSE DAMN LEAKS!!)!! In short order, a crew of 3 cleared the roof in one hour. These young men are comfortable on roofs and work extremely hard, even on the coldest of days. Several of my friends and neighbors, all in the same situation, used them as well and were very pleased. I cannot recommend this company highly enough!! When you call, ask for Jackie. She is a sweetheart and will take care of you!!

These people are awesome! I had a real problem pointed out to me by MassSaves, in that the exhaust gases from my gas furnace and water heater were not going up the chimney - called a plumber - nothing wrong with the furnace, but the chimney was blocked - called one chimney company who could not remove the blockage and recommended Bostons Best. So I called them on a Monday - on Tuesday morning Matt was at my door - got up on the roof found out that not only was the furnace flue completely blocked, it was blocked because the old clay liner had collapsed and formed a solid mass in the flue. He came down and checked the fireplace as well and when he opened the damper, chunks of that clay flue fell into my fireplace. Matt got the crew working right away to clear out the blockage. They had to cut holes in the chimney in order to get rid of all the broken flue pieces (thank goodness my chimney runs up the outside of my house), and then rebuilt the chimney from the roofline up, and put new stainless steel liners in both flues. As several of my neighbors said, These guys came early and stayed late to get the job done. It took them three and a half days - in incredibly hot and humid weather, but the chimney looks great AND IT DRAFTS!! No more carbon monoxide in my basement! They did a very good job of matching the color of the 75 year old brick - as a bonus they removed an old dishTV disc that the previous owners had left on the roof. Bostons Best Chimney is the real deal!!
