Ive been a member for about two weeks and so far Im really liking this gym. Everyone has been friendly and professional, and its generally not crowded even during busier times. Theyve got everything you could need, and everything is kept very clean. The locker rooms are generally spotless and well-stocked. Everyone wears masks. A+ so far, it feels great to be back in the gym.
Good luck canceling your membership and expect a call from a debt collector even after canceling. I made multiple attempts to cancel my membership in person, on the phone, and via email. After finally canceling and confirming with the gym staff that my account was settled, I received multiple calls and letters from their debt collector saying that I still owed Crunch money. I contacted the gym and asked for a statement showing what I owed but never received clarification on why my account was overdue. After months of back and forth with Crunch and harassment from the debt collector, I finally just paid the alleged balance due. After this experience, I will never rejoin Crunch and recommend staying away from this chain of gyms.
This particular location is not just a gym, but a wonderfully supportive community. Mike H. and Sarah C. who run this location go above and beyond for their members and do so with compassion and sincerity. I believe that they really strive to be impactful in the community they serve, especially during these difficult times. Thank you both for your professionalism and kindness. Crunch corporate should take notice.
The General Manager is a great guy, Good gym with a lot of awesome machines and nice layout.
Traveling through on a nursing assignment and had the unfortunate pleasure of listening to the GM Mike talk to my gf about stipulations to use our gym memberships from Florida. Out in Cali they have signature gyms which we do not. I live downtown Tampa which is predominantly young body builders and athletes from the Bucs. So imagine when i heard this manager tell her that “we cant accommodate people who pay 15 dollars a month while our memberships are 73 a month”. Like all we were doing was asking if we could lol and if there was a price difference.
6 out of 5 stars! great owner and great gym!
We moved away from the area due to COVID. I received an email less than 24 hours before this location decided to open up after COVID restrictions were raised. Immediately was charged for membership. Called the walnut creek location asking to have our membership cancelled and charges removed, but no luck...they cant do that. I spoke to 3 separate employees who were unable to help. I finally received an email address to forward my complaint to (a corporate Crunch account or something). After months of waiting, and after several friendly email bumps, I finally received a reply stating that my membership was cancelled(this took 3 months to cancel??), and that the charges would NOT be revoked. This is terrible business. This gym demonstrated they have zero control over their accounts, and care little about their members, and are just looking to take your money. Ill never be returning to a Crunch Fitness.
This place is riddled with fraudulent billing. Over 400$ in unauthorized charges. Luckily my bank said they have had multiple problems with this company and were able to take care of it. For fun Google cancel crunch gym you will find a wikihow that tells you to cancel it in person and email, then do it by regular mail, and also by phone. Once you cancel it those 4 ways it is recommended to tell your bank to put a stop payment vs crunch. Seriously Google it. Or look at all the recent reviews that all say the same
Scam! Do not come here! They will literally steal from you!
This is a great gym! Clean. Spacious. Updated. Solid workout equipment. What more could a girl ask for? The location is in a prime spot and they open on time. Locker rooms are well kept and have a the essentials (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, towels, mouth rinse) to freshen up after a sweat session.
Im new to the Bay area, but when I walked into Crunch Fitness in Walnut Creek looking for a new gym I quickly knew I found the right place. This gym is sharp, to say the least. All the equipment looks and feels brand new (which they are I believe!) and the entire space is clean as a whistle. It has everything Im looking for in a gym and more. Classes, steam room, all for a reasonable price. I was also fortunate to meet Mike, the GM, and can see why this gym is running so smooth.
Great atmosphere & facilities. I came across only clean, respecful & inspiring members. They have loads of specialist equipment i havent even tried yet. Theres definintely something for everyone. Plenty of equipment, enormous TVs & space to stretch even when it gets busy. I would recommend this place as theres no hidden charges or issues and you do not have to be in a full years contract. I definitely will be back next time i am in town. Top marks from me.
Personal trainer Daniel Anderson is amazing. My workouts are different every time and I leave completely spent. He will also change things up to continue to focus on flexibility or to work out some desk job kinks. He has also provided me with hockey specific routines and work outs I can do when I am traveling and do not have the awesome line up of equipment Crunch Walnut Creek provides. Highly recommend Daniel and Crunch Walnut Creek!
Joined Crunch before they opened. Started training with Dan Anderson immediately. I am super impressed. He puts in a lot of thought to our program and I really like his methods. I feel stronger and better conditioned. I have worked with other trainers at other gyms, but I have done more in less time with Dan than with the others.Crunch is clean and bright. Never overly crowded though classes do fill up. Staff is very friendly. Parking available in shopping center. And rooftop parking behind the gym.
Awesome gym, almost always clean (at least at 5 am) love the staff there, they make great eye contact with you and are very friendly.
Hands down best crunch gym Ive been to, lots of equips and very well maintained facility in general. locker room is clean, shower has everything, even hair dryer is of good quality. dont know why theres lot of low ratings
This gym has fantastic convenience and facilities. The hours, however, are lacking. This gym closes at 7 PM on Saturday and Sunday and 10 PM on weekdays. I understand that they are being good to their employees, but for the amount of money that this gym costs, thats ridiculous.
Good gym with lots of equipments.I however think weekend hours of 7 to 7, can be improved.
Excellent place to workout. Very clean. Knowledgeable and very professional trainers. This place is managed really well.
Out of desperation with no luck communicate with the Blackhawk general manager, and no phone number to call higher managers, I found this store and gave them a call, The store manager Charles was very helpful and truthful when talk to me. Hes very friendly and listened to my problem. And gave very useful solutions as to find out the truth. With his help, I know my next step to resolve my problem. Too bad this is not my gym, I cant say enough good things about Charles.
Gym itself is fine, but nothing special for the price. Equipment hardly working or teared down. And for an year I was charged more than supposed to. Every single month I had to talk to their managers who promised to deal with it and call back. I never saw a single refund or even got a call. Now since I’ve canceled membership (I was told I can simply give a call) I still get charged on my credit card!!! Do not recommend crunch to anyone.
This Crunch is very big and clean. They even have a kids gym inside for $4 a day fee if you want to bring your kids when you exercise. I like they also have a sauna and steam room if you like those. There are plenty of treadmill, elliptical and weights as well as a huge cycling studio and an aerobics studio.I am so glad it is close to my house and I plan on coming more often!
I’m really feeling into this gym but wondering why they’re staying open and still charging monthly’s in the midst of a global pandemic/ a federally declared national emergency encouraging social distancing as critical to public health? Come on.
Don’t bother trying to do the 3-day trial period that they advertise on their website. The staff will walk you through the place, try to bully you into signing up that day (somewhat expected), if you tell them you’re considering other gyms in the area too they’ll tell you to go look at those first, and they’ll say that there’s no reason to try their gym for a few days because “you’re obviously going to like it”.
I got charged for 3 sets of 3 personal training sessions instead of 2. I got charged for a full month when it was only two weeks left and I also got charged for a month that I was told would be free. The only reason why I am putting 2 starts instead of 1 is because my personal trainer Dillion is so amazing. Other than that I am so disappointed that I am leaning towards not getting the three months free that they are trying to offer me just because I dont want to accidentally get charged by mistake.
Huge and new feeling. Tons of space here and no shortage of equipment. They have the turf for sled push lots of other no standard workout gear.
Great gym. Good hours, except I wish they were open until 11 instead of 10pm. Friendly staff. A lot of great classes and equipment are offered
The personal trainers are so awesome! So many classes available! Workout equipment! Steam room! Just a really cool place to workout! Pricing is pretty fair for the membership #personaltrainingUpdate! They over charged me 3 times! Over $600 total! I even put in writing I want to cancel the membership and get a refund and they responded with I could offer you three months of free gym passes No! I want my money back! So disappointed in this gym! My personal trainer Dillion is the only part that is 5 stars in this place! Cant believe this unprofessional experience! I dont even have time to go in because Im preparing to go into the hospital and here they are stealing money from my account!
Amazing in every way. Location is perfect and very bike / trail accessible(contra costa to oak grove exit then follow dedicated bike lane)Equipment is modern and well maintained, high tech, sync to Fitbit etcClasses are EXCEPTIONAL . Definitely not ones you would see elsewherePersonal trainers : I haven’t had personal experience with the trainers here, but I’m told are also quite knowledgeable and leaders in their field.Lockers : nothing over the top, but they are safe and clean.
Everyone is fit here lol keeps u motivated
Awesome gym very clean with all the amenities, good staff and a lot of good cross training equipment
Great facility, always clean and the machines are well taken care of. Very nice staff as well
Great place to get your workout done. Very good instructors and costumer service.
-Awesome facilities with equipment for every workout imaginable! -Friendly and motivational atmosphere
Very pretty, good machines... the dumbest trainers you will ever meet *(I hope, for your sake), sales staff will blatantly lie to you to get you to sign.
The best gym in Bay Area, new, big Ana not too many people
Professional and friendly staff. Brand new equipment, never too crowded and very clean. Little pushy on selling personal training services but thats to be expected. Only gripe is the lack of public WiFi hot spots which was supposed to be available by now.
Another rate increase way above that of the cost of living out here!!
Very clean, nice staff, a little too pricey though
I am visiting with guest pass so far and so far I have taken 3 classes on Monday with Fred chisel I believe I really enjoyed the class Fred is positive and knows what he is doing . I took a hip hop class Isaac is a nice class I had god times at his class to me it seem as it will be easy if people have somewhat of experian e in dancing or rhythm . I suggest that every class if new people is presented with few words about hip hop some explanation about basic steps etc. It was hard for me to remember the routine with out having Isac performing it before my eyes he stops or lets us do it on ower own And i am lost :)) thats just the beginning it takes practise its not so hard ill go for another class plus he is a Capitan of the hip hop crew for the warriors !!:) the next class I took was diesel it was a the class that I felt great I did the instructor is professional she executes the exercises precise and at the same time she is fun and motivating I highly recommend Her classes- Tuesday at 5:30 pm.I was watching a part of the yoga class it seemed relaxed maybe ill give it a chance I was thrown off by the instructors move to open the door and ask me to put a towel on The bench I was sitting at I didnt hear her at first my eyes were browsing around gym checking out the machines so when I focus my attention on he she said exactly the handing me a who knows whos towel - just put it on th bench . I found that rude there was no excuse me or could you please and why hand me a towel is it a dirty towel !!??My observation so far the staff at front desk is very nice people. The department of sales I spoke with one person Christian I did feel its all about the sale and pushing the sale but I am thankful for the 7 days pass and answered questions. Ill digest a courtesy response would be nice after me communicating back decisions of mine. The one person that I say thank you for explaining to me key points and man I g the time to answer my questions is Joe - personal trainer who is polite in his answered and helpful .One concern it crossed my mind coming from two other gyms with roof issues to another - yes there were leaks from the roof but I understand its a brand new building its not the staff who build it :) so hopefully corporate will take care of it asap. The equipment of course is new and good colorful weights enough mats that wont be a concern. Towels are available and washed in the facility . It is clean so far .I have more to explore . The membership I believe is 77$ per month if you pay a 1012 $ for the year it comes with 3 free months so 15 months all the fees included - 10$ less per month plus dues and fees etc . and if not paid in full but month to month its 77$ per month plus 99$ per year dues . To sign up its about 240$ - first and last month plus yearly dues, they do have promotions going on. The membership is only for one facility and it doesnt include other facility in different locations or states . Double check it on their site .The bathrooms and changing rooms are maintained . the ladies rest room the sinks are separated from the toilets in a way, you have to walk left once leaving the toilet spot - quick left quick rivht.I would recommend that staff will give a walking tour to every person that is entering the building with questions or thoughts of gym shopping ;) yes they do have a Touch screen tv that explains most of the classes and pictures of instructors plus a demo short video of the classes witch is nice. The crowed is mixture of different backgrounds and sizes and they do have the big flat screen and offers childcare while you are working out. There are variety of classes the schedule is online . or of you walk in they can hand you a schedule and on the back of it every class is described well. This is so far what I experienced after two days at the gym. Parking was ok .Good luck to Crunch congrats for the opening . The location is convenient to plenty of shops and restaurants - wholefoods and safeway and many more in process of opening or to be opened .Enjoy.
Nice place. Very modern building
Clean, friendly, has all the machines I need, but the hours are an atrocity. I give it a 😐 our of 😎.
I would give it zero star if I can. Sales manager lies to you to get u sign up. They promised to give refund, but it never happened.
Large, spacious, clean. Great gym.
Lmao this place is so gross. lower your prices, who are you?
Great place. Lots of variety.
Super crunchalitous and I got to do the crunchathon
Ammenities are awesome and the staff is awesome!
