Dojo Americana is phenomenal and Mark is a wonderful coach with lots of integrity. They had a 3-month special with ghi last year in Oceanside that got us in the door, couldnt beat the price. When I found-out the dojo moved even closer to my home, I signed-up my 8-yr old son and 7-yr old daughter. We are on month to month for a very reasonable rate. Im absoultely amazed at what my kids can do now, in just a few short months of training just twice/week! Now, my son wants to roll with me. Looks like Ill put my full trust in Mark & Martin and get myself out on the Dojo Americana mat for the new year. Highly recommend! Cant wait to start my training. I hope one day to bring my two youngest kids here to train as well. Mad skills and a great workout. And, good people. Fun!

I was in Vista for work for a couple of weeks from Chicago & although I didn’t get to drop in to as many classes as I would’ve liked, it was a great experience. No crazy uniform requirements. No crazy SoCal drop in fees. Just the love of jiu jitsu with super nice & friendly training partners. No egos or attitudes, just high level jiu jitsu. A great experience for someone who had only been training for 6 months prior to my visit. Professors Mark & Martin are good guys who run a good gym. Next time I’m in the Vista office, I’ll be dropping in again. If you’re in the area you should check them out!

I started training at Dojo Americana in 2013 and couldnt be happier with my experiences and the time Ive hade there. One of the most important factors when selecting a martial arts gym to train at is the vibe you get when you walk in. Especially today, with the proliferation of McDojos and an MMA expert lurking at every corner. Tough guy t-shirts, lots of bravado, etc, etc. That is the opposite of what you get here. This gym truly captures everything that is great about BJJ and martial arts in general. There is a palpable spirit of unity, teamwork and friendship at Dojo Americana. The coach is one of the (apparently) few out there who has not completely dropped self defence tactics, in lieu of taking on a 100% sport BJJ approach. On the other hand, its an awesome time training with these folks in prep for a competition, too. A word of caution, though; be prepared to train hard!

Dojo Americana/NINENINE Jiu-JItsu is a great place to learn jiu-jitsu and self defense. Ive been training here for several years and its been great. Great instructors! Mark was my first instructor and now both Mark and Martin for the past 6 months. There is a self defense jiu-jitsu class for beginners too or for those who dont want the intensity of the comp/sport class. Everyone here is cool and humble. The competition class is tough but it has made me a better and I have improved a lot. If youre looking to learn jiu-jitsu then I highly recommend Dojo Americana/NineNine.
