Shannon Hayes,This is in response to Shannon Hayes Google review. 06/23/211. your project was from 2016, we completed your project to the fullest satisfactory of our expertise2.you had no issues with this project for 5 years? and your just now reaching out to us. thats fine, we are truly here to help. We have one Engineer compared to most companies, hence the name Small Potatoes3. your story about you calling was that you have been calling for 6 months, which is it? please keep your story straight, we appreciate you not lying.4.when you or anyone else would call, you did not have any information for us to go by. it was literally like pulling teeth from a small child.6.we take full responsibility for not having the time to return your phone calls. we apologize but Michael has hundreds of current clients that need his attention on a daily basis. we understand your frustration but we are growing and learning each day.5.. Michael Schooley is very passionate about each and every client he has, we ensure each and every client is taken care of. our business is essential in this community with the best prices around and we are expanding and growing and hiring more Engineers. so, even though your review is not 100% accurate we wish you well and hope to work with you again in the future.
We hired Small Potatoes to evaluate 2 structural columns we currently have in our family room. They did come out and provide us with plans for 2 lvl beams to replace our current columns. However, now they will not respond to questions from the contractor doing the work. The contractor noticed that the plans do not mention a large window on the back wall where the beams will sit. They do not know if the current header is able to support the new load of the beams. They have called numerous times with no response and I personally called 5 times, each time the individual stating that Mr. Schooley would call me by the end of the business day. Now, we are having to hire a new engineer to draft up new plans, due to the fact we have not received any response and have been calling for OVER A MONTH. Highly unprofessional and I would never recommend them to anyone.
We needed a structural engineer to help us get a house to closing. Small Potatoes was excellent. They accessed the problem, designed a solution, and executed with expediency. If the opportunity presents itself for this kind of service in the future, no doubt, I would call Mark Farley at Small Potatoes Structural Engineering. Great Job!
Michael and his team are efficient prompt and accurate we trust them for all our engineering opinions before we start any structural work.
This company was amazing in every way. Hays who set my appointment up was patient, knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions. At the appointment Michael and Zach were just as great! They were professional and made sense of everything that I needed to know.I am a realtor and will be using them again !
Takes the time to talk with you in a way you can understand. Gives you solutions to the problem and best options. Incredible customer service and professionalism.
Responded quickly to my request. results were professional and satisfied the city inspection plan reviewers without a hitch. will use again.
Huge help! The guys at Small Potatoes recently helped us out when a crawlspace company did some bad work. They were really responsive and really helped us to figure out next steps to remedy some bad structural work.Highly recommend!
I had the firm look at my home to see the best solution to level the floors and ensure the main girder was still in structurally sound condition. The firm stated in their very late report that the main girder was offset by 6-8inches from the main bearing wall, and that was the cause for the sagging. After removing the subfloor, it was clear that the main girder was not offset - it was directly beneath and centered below the main bearing wall. That alone is a pretty big miss on their behalf. How can you trust any information on a report with such glaringly incorrect information? They were also 4-5 weeks late delivering the report after multiple visits to their office.I also asked if they were able to say whether a mundane product substitution would be okay—no answer at all a month plus later. At first, I was pleased with the price and the fix they proposed as it was much more straight forward than any GC I spoke with. But with the extreme lateness of the report and the inaccurate information, I can not recommend this firm for anything. Maybe a bookshelf construction? Certainly not anything with locating, adjusting, repairing, replacing, or moving structural members of a house.Spend the extra money and go to another firm. Or a high-quality general contractor with experience in structural repair home leveling. Or call me. Id be happy to provide anyone with an extremely late, factually incorrect report without any follow up for routine questions for 299.99. You can put the 200-300 you saved toward the GC bill to fix it.
It has been 97 working days (05/22/19 - 10/09/19) since our small condo association engaged with Small Potatoes Engineering to review a balcony that was caving in and create an Engineers Report and Drawing. The report was issued after 30 days, but after review it was determined we would not be able to use the design/materials specified, and we have requested your company update the documentation based on our architects recommendations. To this date, we still are not able to proceed with repairs because the Engineers Report and Drawing do not comply with the Historic District requirements to issue permits. We have repeatedly attempted to get Small Potatoes to update the design so we are able to move forward; however, they have been unresponsive for several weeks.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Dont waste your time or money. These guys promised a report of their findings within a two weeks....its six weeks later and I have called and emailed multiple times and gotten nothing but the run around. Without the much needed report, the money I spent for the inspection is an absolute waste.
I needed an engineer for a small job, Small Potatoes was professional, quick, and affordable.
Great firm. Great results
Very knowledgeable company.
