Have rented here for many years and the quality remains consistent despite several changes of management during these years.Just rented a new unit and the website did something odd and assigned me the wrong unit - Well Brennan tirelessly worked thru his lunch hour in order to ensure the problem got resolved!Yes, there are shinier and newer facilities out there but this place becomes family! Highly recommend!

It’s been stressful moving. A lot of the storage places have no more space. I happen to come across Life Storage and I decided to place a reservation. Kim from Life Storage called me within minutes after the reservation, but I was unable to pick up. I tried to return and left a voicemail. I assumed I’d probably won’t here back after the weekend. She attempted to call me again as she was about to leave for the day. She was very pleasant and informative. She happily answered all questions since I’ve never rented a unit before. Today, I met with the manager to complete the process and Kim left him notes so he’s aware of what’s going on. He showed me to the unit and I was impressed by the customer service received with Kim and the manager.

Great place as evidenced by the fact we’ve been a customer for 25 years. Over the years the staff has always been very friendly and professional and, fortunately, that continues to this day. Recently, Kim helped my wife with the purchase of a new padlock. She couldn’t have been nicer or more efficient. Kudos to her!

Closed our account today after 9 months. Moving day was today but the elevator broke. The Manager Wayne was very sincere and apologetic. He gave us a credit on our final bill. One of the employees, David, was awesome! He helped us carry furniture from the second floor to our truck. A phenomenal company and staff. Would definitely use the particular company/site again! I hope David isnt sore from assisting.

David is the nicest young man that I have ever met. He is always very friendly and attentive to my storage needs. David was super helpful and his customer service is beyond exceptional. He always greets me with a ready smile and asks me if I need anything or how my day is. This business needs more employees like him.

I rented a space from Life Storage on Central Drive for about 2 years. I had nothing but positive experiences with them. Staff was always super kind when I needed to go in or call. Whenever there was a price increase, they made sure to let us know well in advance that it was coming and why. That is very rare these days. Closing out my space was also so easy and painless. These people conduct business very well.

I was so impressed with the incredible customer service the staff provided. They went above and beyond to help when my storage needs changed. That kind of consideration is rare. I highly recommend them and will use them anytime I have temporary storage needs.

Ive had the usual surprise challenges during moving, but Kim at Life Storage has always been so kind and helpful. So glad there are still good people who take pride in their work!

What an awesome facility. I have been with life storage for several years moving and they are always there for me. Wayne at this location was outstanding. Customer Service at its highest! They have been on point and always keeping me updated. The office was closed during this incident and Wayne had a person come on site to resolve the issue. Talk about service! David and the staff at Life Storage are great! They answered all our questions we had and the prices are fair for the units. The facility is clean and the use of the free move in truck was very convenient for my family.

Used them while moving into my new place, no bugs and easy to access. The customer service was excellent. When they were closed but still there they went out of their way to let my 3 year old use the bathroom

I just emptied my storage unit today. Nothing was missing or damaged. Dave was an excellent assistant to everything that I needed. I would recommend your storage facility to anyone who mentions the need for one.

I went to the storage so I can pick up my stuff and close down my storage. When I opened it up, if was awful. My MIA x boyfriend had utterly trashed the inside of my storage. David, one of the employees, was with me when I opened the storage. Without hesitation, he told me that I can leave everything there and that hed take care of it. I am extremely grateful to David Roebuck as he went above and beyond in his help.David, no words can express how thankful i am for sanitizing and being excellent.

Awesome storage unit location, bottom line. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The unit was clean, reasonably priced, and reasonably accessible. I had a really great experience here. If I’m ever back in the area and need storage, I’ll check here first for sure.

We began with a great relationship with Life Storage however we have since had few too many incidences that have us looking into other more competent storage companies. Our 1st issue, one night we were moving a couch into our unit & our security code was not accepted therefore we were locked out unable to access the property for no apparent reason. After calling various different numbers desperately trying speak to someone for help & being on hold waiting around for about an hour finally someone was able to override the system. We were later told it was some type of security glitch but that shouldn’t be something, we as paying on time customers, should be experiencing.2nd issue, we have had difficulties setting up our account online in order for us to pay online as to not have to pay an extra over the phone fee or have to constantly go pay in person which we’ve been doing monthly. I was personally able to speak with the manager on how to properly set up our online account to properly make our 1st of the month payments online, on time & not in person every time. After a few different try’s we were finally able to make our payment online and we even went as far as paying it early since we were going out of town. We received our transaction of completion in our email so we thought everything was fine. However, a little over a week later while looking into my checking account I noticed no deduction for Life Storage nor did we receive any additional notification that our payment did not go through. I called to speak with the manager to find out why this happened especially since we have been going out of our way to make sure we set everything up properly. Sadly, we are given no choice but to have to pay a whopping $50 fee for reasons I still don’t understand as well as an infuriating $20 late fee!!! Even though, in our account that both myself and the manager could see clear as day and in black & white that we made our payment early, still we are being charged these extra fees?!?! All along we have been trying to do the right thing by going out of our way to ensure our payments are made on time or early and yet still there’s an issue. This is not right and we will be looking into other competent storage companies!

Kim and Wayne are simply just good at what they do. Some people dont really understand customer service and do not need to be in this profession. With the case of Kimberly and Wayne, they truly understand how customer service works. I appreciate their services in going the extra mile to make sure customer satisfaction is #1. It was an door issue within the climate control unit and had been out of order for nearly a year. After numerous attempts with previous employees and managers thru this time period, nothing was done until Kimberly and Wayne started working here at the central drive lifestorage location, and it was then when something finally got done and the door was fixed within a week of mentioning this situation. I make a big deal about this situation because my unit is on the second floor and it just made sense to use the door of where my unit was the closes. Thanks a bunch Kimberly and Wayne for your outstanding works on this matter. Keep up the great works!

Wow! Just Wow! I went online and reserved a storage unit on 3/12/21 at LifeStorage on Central Drive in Virginia. Within 15 minutes, Wayne called me to see if there was anything he could help me with. I explained my issues and we set up a time for me to come to LifeStorage to see the unit I had reserved. Turns out it was too small for what I needed. Wayne took me to 4 more sizes that he had available for the date I needed. Wayne is a very personable person and went out of his way to help me when I was so stressed over everything that I was going through. Some people dont really understand customer service and should to be in this profession. Wayne, he truly understands how customer service works. I appreciate that he went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of, he went that extra mile to make sure I, the customer was satisfied. Thanks Wayne for being there to help me!

My company has a work unit here and I now have a personal one and would recommend this place to anyone! But be quick they almost Full!!!

Kim and Wayne have been a blessing. My family and I have been going through some rough times and got very behind on our storage payments. I went in and spoke with Kim and no only does she exemplify great costumer service, but she has a kind and caring personality that makes you feel welcome and important when you go into the office. She gave me all the information we needed in order to catch up and if she didnt know an answer to my question, she was extremely honest. Wayne called me not to long after my meeting Kim and he helped me further understand what I needed to do to resolve my issue. Sometimes, it difficult to talk to others when we are having problems because we may feel scared or embarrassed, but Im so happy that Kim and Wayne were there to help and make me feel more at ease. This may seem like extra, considering its just a storage unit, but it is so true when said, its the small things. Thank you so much for helping us get though this small part. Stay safe everyone!

Not a good experience. We paid for the unit and went here past hours to load the unit (after we had paid for the unit) AND A UHAUL to find out that we couldn’t get into the gate! Also the box truck they were SUPPOSED TO have was unexpectedly not there after we had paid and talked about using the truck. So now we have to pay for another UHaul to bring our stuff.

I have dealt with Nikkia several times now, and she is one of the sweetest and most friendly employees at any of the storage facilities around here. She goes above and beyond when it comes to helping customers. If I could give her ten stars, I would. And same to the facility. Nice, clean, and well maintained. Good cameras and lighting. Makes me feel much safer when alone. Thanks again!

They are very understaffed. Theres never anyone in their office during business hours. You cant talk to anyone live in person or on the phone. This had happened to me soooo much at this location.

I had a really good experience today with Life Storage. I reserves online and went in to view the unit before I paid. I ended up being greeted by the Manager who was a really laid back cool guy. The new woma. Was pleasant as well. All my questions were answered and the Manager came through on a solid for me. The location is convenient and the peice is definitely right! So far so good.

I recently lost my wallet at their facility, and was notified by Store Manager Amber Williams that she had reviewed the security cam and retrieved my wallet. I had inadvertently dropped it while moving items for my mother in law. I did not even realize that I had dropped it. Best storage facility in Virginia Beach. I have rented at this location off and on for the last 10 years. Love the fact they have climate as well as humidity control units.It’s easily accessible, elevators, moving carts, moving van, rest room and the facility is always clean. The staff is polite and always helpful. Amiee McCann always brightens my day she always smiles and is always polite no matter how busy it gets. Amiee always explains your paperwork and gives great supply suggestions. By far the best place in town to store your things.

The location of the facility is great with fair prices. Everything has gone great until we had a leak. You can see where the unit has leaked in two places before with the inside being fixed with duct tape. One spot began to leak about a month ago again. I have been waiting for repairs for about a month now. I am told everytime that they have no time table to fix it as they only have one person to do repairs on multiple locations and I am assuming that they are unwilling to hire outside the company to make repairs, even if they have a backlog. I have a storage unit that I cannot use the front section of for going on a month now with no end in sight.

Great facility, Ron has always provided excellent customer service. Everyone here has always been friendly and the facility is always clean and neat. I have been a customer for over 2 years here and would not think of going anywhere else.

Service was fast and friendly. Easy to book. Access for the first full 24 hours and then from 6am to 10pm after that. My only complaint is that they do not have free carts to move things in and out of the unit easier.

This place overall is very nice and well kept, Ive been having issues accessing my unit off hours due to gate issues? I brought up my concern with not being able to access my unit and was told the issue was corrected and I shouldnt have further issues getting in after office hours. This is the third time sadly that I have wasted trips to my unit because the gate is denying me entry when I was told that I have 24 hour access to the climate controlled units. I hope this has been a misunderstanding or they are able to remedy this in the future.

Highly recommended. I stopped by to check out my storage options and the guy at the front desk (sorry Ive forgotten his name) couldnt have been more helpful. When I went back to actually move in Amber was covering the front desk and likewise couldnt have been more helpful. When we ran into some unexpected logistical issues, she went well above and beyond to figure out my options. The place is also neat as a pin and I like their locking system - not just a bring your own deadbolt - which gives me 100% assurance that no one but I have access to my space. Definitely five stars all around - Ive used a number of self-storage facilities over the years; I wish they were all like this.

Rented my second unit from Life Storage. Amber and Jennifer are always helpful and make everything so easy. If you are looking for a clean storage unit with fantastic customer service, check them out!I have changed my review due to numerous concerns. The door to enter the climate controlled has not been locked for over two weeks. The facility is dirty and only seems to be swept when brought to the attention of the staff. Weekends are a disaster, people block the driveways, sometimes you are not able to exit. This is a fire safety and is against the regulations of the fire department.When renting the storage facility, I was told the carts are only available for the units inside. I pay more money for these units only to find out anyone can use on property. Every few months my rentals go up and service goes down.

I have been with this storage facility for years. Last July I was injured severely enough that Im no longer able to work. The staff at this location is absolutely wonderful. They have absolutely gone above and beyond in every way they possibly could to help me out. Im sorry to be leaving, but because I cant work I am no longer able to pay. They have worked with me even though I am in Vermont and are allowing my nephew access to my unit so that I dont lose everything. My whole life is in that unit. Gifts that say children made for me when they were young, all my work equipment, things that were left to me from relatives that have passed, and the list goes on. I would have been devastated to lose these things. I am so thankful that they found a way for me to sign the release form so that I know if you could have access. I am truly blessed to have the family that I do, and that they have wonderful people like this working at this location.THANK YOU!

Clean spaces and super helpful staff every time I’m there. Very user friendly for my first experience in storage. They made the chaos of moving so much easier.

The maintenance worker stopped to help us with the move and the other worker opened the door for us. Great staff all around!

Amber is the best!!! When I realized that the unit I originally got was too small she quickly got us the right unit. She was very patient with me and made sure I got the best deal and wanted to make sure my stuff wouldnt get ruined either. I also rented their truck (from the Volvo location) and had to keep it an extra day since the unit was too small. She made sure they wouldnt charge me more than the original late fee for keeping past drop off time. It was a very hectic move and Amber made it easier on us.
