I’ve been here for seven month. You might luck up and not have any issues and that’s the only way you would think this is a great place to live. The only response fast when you first move in.They do not respond if they can’t get to you. You will have a millipede bug issue for at list three months and it’s nothing they can do because they don’t know how to control it. So you just have to deal with the aggravation and explain to your guess before you have any so it will become normal to them as well. They will attempt to fix something bad simple as a faucet leaking and it still will be the same and then they will just advice you they don’t know why it’s like that. They don’t know why to do if your water is cold and not staying hot. They do t know why your heat is not working because they already fixed it. Everyone need somewhere to stay. If you end up here I pray that everything will go smooth for you and you will have a better experience than I have had.
Im a very picky person & did my homework before choosing St. Croix. This apartment complex is nice & quiet. The updated apartments & amenities are nice & clean. Location is great & convenient. Lexie & Nikki were helpful before & during my stay here since 2018. I am pleased with Lexies help when I requested to downsize. She stayed on top of it & always kept me posted. I think this is a nice to place to live.
This is a lengthy review.....St.Croix was my 1st apartment after moving out of my parents house. Lexie( leasing manager) made the process easy and was there at literally any time via email to answer all of my questions. The 1st three months of living there I had a roach infestation. I was told by my neighbors that our entire unit was infested because of previous tenants who just moved out. I worked overtime to get rid of the roaches which included contacting Lexie on several occasions and requesting pest treatments, paying for pest treatments myself, using natural remedies, sprays and acids . After trying all those things consistently, the roaches disappeared and I haven’t had an issue since, besides seeing half dead water bugs beside my fireplace or patio door every blue moon. One of the things I did not enjoy about St.Croix was the garbage can. It was always BEYOND full which meant people would put their trash beside it on the ground . It was always overflowing, and because my apartment was right across from it, I had to endure that ugly site everyday. Parking also became a pain as more people started moving in.On two occasions I was behind on my rent ( life happens) I contacted Lexie and let her know what my situation was . Each time she never made me feel embarrassed or persecuted me . The 1st time she explained what would happen ( court fees, late fees) and the second time ( without telling me) gave me a grace period. Like most situations in life, if you go about them the right way, they may work out in your favor . I believe that Lexie appreciated my professionalism and courtesy ; therefore she looked out. The maintenance staff were also GREAT! They were professional, timely and knowledgeable.Overall my experience with St.Croix was a wonderful one . I would recommend these apartments to anyone who’s just getting out on their own and wants “ luxury” amenities on the inside .
Nikki is Awesome! We arrived at the St. Croix Apartments and I love when the timing is right! Nikki showed us a newly renovated unit ready to move in same day!It had been a stressful move from another state until we saw our new place, filled out the application and got into the unit. Nikki is kind, professional and courteous! She took time to show us the unit and talk about the area. We filled out the application without complications and signed the lease. This was all accomplished without an appointment. We just happened to walk in. Nikki was very accommodating considering our circumstancesThe office area was clean and inviting. We also met the maintenance supervisor, who was also very professional. Its good to know he is onsite if we need him. It was also nice to see a lifeguard on duty at the swimming pool.Thank You!
I hope you never miss a payment. They will keep you in court fees. So you never catch up.they tell you they will work with you and you have time to catch up, but their lawyers love to go to court. You never can catch up. Fees on top of fees. The office managers claim its always out of their hands. They will charge you half year rent in the end. Every 3 months after I left I got different Bills from them. Each with another court date. This feels like a scam. The law is on there side, no tenant rights at all.
I called just to get pricing and availability and the lady who answered the phone was beyond Disrespectful. She cut me off while speaking when trying to ask questions like the question I was asking were not valid. It’s unfortunate because my fiancé and I narrowed down our search and chose this place but I would never want to live somewhere where they can’t even appreciate prospects. So distasteful.
I don’t live here but I came in for a tour as a preospective tenant and the leasing person Nikki continued her mobile phone call for about 15 min before even asking me to come in and have a seat . When I sat down there was also another lady in the office just sitting there who didn’t greet or ask if there was anything she could help me with. Finally the phone call was done and she asked how can she help & I told her I was interested in a 1 bedroom and ask did she have any to show, she said she only had pictures and I let her know I really wanted to see the apartments in person I had already saw pictures online. She didn’t offer to show me anything comparable or like a demo apartment or even take my information to update me when something did become available. I take it they weren’t interested in having me as a resident 🤷🏿♀️
I have lived here going on 3 years and never really had an issue until this year. This apartment complex seems very nice and quiet, but it isn’t. My vehicle has been broken into 2 times in 2 months. Everyone that has been living over here a couple of years explained to me that this has been going on. Every weekend someone’s car gets broken into. On 08/31/2019 my car and 4 other cars window were broken out. It is getting bad. The first time that my car was broken in was 06/10/2019. Everyone complains to the leasing office, but corporate will not put cameras up. Neither will they take actions to help solve the problem. It is getting unsafe over here. I wish that I could post pictures.
This complex is really changing for the better. A new management company has just taken over and theyre great! Theyve only been here for a few months and so much has changed already. New roofs, new gym, newly paved parking lot, power washing, and newly renovated apartments! Cant forget the new staff. Theyre wonderful and helpful, unlike the last 10 or so staff members from the previous company. I cant wait to see what else they have in store!
I am a tenant here and have been since 2014. I receive great service from Perry, Gary and the front desk lady Kim S. Quick responses to any and all of my maintenance request and it only take once to fix them. This new staff is great!
I can honestly say that my experiences from when I moved in to now are on polar opposite ends of the spectrum. St.Croix is under new management and they are excellent! The property manager Alexsa has been the most help of all. She is very kind and does a great job at keeping her tenants happy. New parking lots, new swimming pool with lifeguard, playground for the kids to enjoy, and a dog park. They cut down a lot of the crazy trees that were everywhere and are just making this community a wonderful one to live in. I am very happy that I stayed here!
Place served my needs for the year I was there. The location is great, close to the interstate, close to Norfolk, chics beach, etc. We never had any maintenance concerns. The place is quiet and you can walk to the rec center right down the road.
Worst renting experience ever!Assigned spaces but could never park in my own space because a neighbor thought it was still hers after she moved out of my unit. You can hear your neighbors all the time. Someones kitchen shared a wall with my bedroom. The gym is a joke.Every neighbor I spoke to had serious issues with their apartment. Mold, stove not working, floors giving out, leaks.I am still waiting on my deposit 3 months later. No one ever calls you back. You have to go to the office to speak to anyone and get answers. There is no communication between the staff.Unfortunately, there were no bad reviews posted when I was researching this place otherwise I would have chosen differently.
Ive seen so many improvements here at St Croixs in the last year. Im so happy that there has been a Great turn around. That Alexis and Nikki are very helpful, concerned and on top of everything and that makes me feel awesome. Anything I request to be fixed is done promptly. I recommend St Croixs and the staff to anyone.
Administration work here his unorganized. You will end up back paying them for mistakes they have made in paper work which is no way to conduct business when dealing with peoples money. Its always been something dealing with them. Losing payments, faulting the tenants not themselves. And also theft has happen to a few people here I know personally.
Very professional and reliable staff. Apartment is clean and up to date fixtures. Plus, friendly neighbors looking out for each other is another bonus!
I have been living at st Croix for about three years and boy has that been a ride office staff and maintenance telling me that they were going to fix or take care of a problem I was having when they did nothing. But finally we have someone who cares about the residents and the property ALEXSA DAVIS just like the little thing she has done to make you feel welcome when coming to the office with the chairs and table out front cute fall look I love living here
I was pleased! I have been having trouble with my door and it is now pretty easy to open and close. Thank you Miguel. =)
My apartment was infested with gnats. All of maintenance and the office manager and office lease lady came and saw how bad it was. They said it was disgusting and no one should live like that. Come 5 we were left alone, getting bit by gnats, we had to throw 2 bags of food, we could not cook and we’re forced to eat out. Could not pack lunches and nothing was thought of again. Corporate contacted me 3 days after the problem was discovered. We had to buy bug spray because the gnats were in our room and we were left to live with them. The lease specifically states they will not enter without 48 hour written notice and that we are only responsible for fixing a lightbulb. They broke the lease and entered my home without notice, while my dog was not crated. Before, they would not enter if he was out because it was a hazard. The lady from corporate said we would not be compensated because it was fruit flies as maintenance told her so. That’s funny considering that was not what the head of maintenance told us and even showed us on his phone. Fruit flies also do not bite and we had nothing out for anything to get. She told us that we had spoiled food that caused the problem and to buy bleach and flush the drain. We had tried 2 gallons already out of OUR POCKET. Not sure what we pay for. We had to spend our money on bug spray and traps so we would not be bit and could eat our food that was left. My lease was broke on their end and when I confronted them about it I got no response as they know I expressed no consent to go into my apartment after we acknowledged we took care of it. We have had doors fall on our head, my Car get crashed ito by a police pursuit through the complex, the dishwasher flood the kitchen as well as the washer, shelf’s fall on us and at one point we got told to fix it ourselves. I read the reviews and thought it would be different for me. DO NOT MOVE HERE! Unprofessional. Will not fix anything and make everything your fault and problem. I am out $100 between food and bug spray and got told it was all my fault. I never once wanted to be compensated but once I got bit and was forced to stay there, I felt something should of occurred, especially after they broke the lease and once again we were forced to fix the problem (she argued they fixed it, they placed ant traps out and were never seen again). This place is a joke and I cannot wait to move out in a couple months.
My experience with the staff of this complex has not been a pleasant one. I have had several issues with this complex when it comes to parking. I live here and my rent is paid on time. I serve active Duty in the military(Navy). On several occurrences I have faced multiple issues with the apartment when it come a to insects. I once had to obtain a rental and the rental car was parked correctly and it was towed by Jacks towing from the complex. Upon notifying the complex management who I believe liveable on site, nothing was done. Pretty much a sad attempt for a apology. I wasn’t instructed by the complex manager that the vehicle was ticketed by then city of Virginina Beach. Upon calling the city of Virginia Beach I was instructed that the information was incorrect and made up. They told me the city will site on public property and not private property. Upon contacting Jack’s towing I was told that the vehicle was ticketed by the police once again. I asked them what wasn’t the violation and they told me that the tire on my vehicle wasn’t flat. The vehicle possesses California tags. The company Jacks towing isn’t telling people that they aren’t being ticketed by the city when in fact they aren’t, and acting in the place of the city law inforcement and towing people vehicles. To state that the vehicle was ticketed and was given a warning by the city was a false statement and both the complex management and the towing companie’s operator told me it was when in fact it was not.
If you are seeing this...all I gotta say to you is to skip these apartments and find another apartment. Its not worth your money.
Current resident of 2 years in June 2018. Previous management company (Bonaventure) was atrocious, but since new management company (Levco) has taken over, I am beyond pleased. Alexsa Davis goes above and beyond what could be expected of any property manager - maintenance issues are fixed promptly and done well, renovations to units are beautiful and very well done, grounds maintenance is actually being done ( currently repaving the parking lots, whoo!), and she genuinely cares about her residents and their concerns. Ive renewed my lease and plan to stay for the foreseeable future.
We recently got new management and new maintenance I put my request in for some issues in my apartment and they were taking care of in less than 48 hours I got a flyer and an email saying the job was completed and I was satisfied with the work I am very happy with my apartment complex
The warm greeting and professionalism from Lexie and Nikki(managment) was AWESOME! Its a quiet neighborhood the new renovations are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!UPDATE: The apartments have all been rented out to mostly military. It’s really a shame how most of them live no one cleans up after thier dog I’m mean dog poo everywhere, they throw trash outside of the dumpster and 🗣 RUDE!! The parking is Ridiculous!! Arriving home after 8pm you’re outback. I get off around 2am sometimes leave for work @ 5am I usually have to parking in the next court or by the rent office. The renovations are nice but it was a rush job paint splatters everywhere, the oven handle fell off, the bathroom doors where cut uneven and my patio door(water heater) has dry rotted. Mr. Gary the Maintenance man is pretty good he responds to online request quickly.
BEWARE!! Which issue should I start with......lets go in order. I moved there 1/17 and my only issue was too many BIG bugs. On 5/8/17 I opened my door to a stabbing and the victim ran in my door. Of course I helped her and blood was everywhere. I called the 24 hr number to inform them and the young lady was GREAT, told me call her if I needed to talk or anything thru the night. I called the next morning and got Kim (bonaventure) to get the foreign DNA from all over my living room and doorway and was told first she had to determine who would be responsible for paying, I went off, called a friend who worked for another bonaventure property and she contacted the DM who came immediately with Balfour. Alexsa, the property manager, called 3 days later and then chose to argue as to who got the DM and Balfour in to clean. Then when that neighboring apt was cleaned out maintenance used my trash, didnt dump it, and while it was full valet trash didnt dump it because it wasnt in a bag. I took my own trash to the dumpster and was still charged until I deducted the charge from my rent, wrote a complaint, and threatened legal action if the charge AND LATE FEES (for the trash) werent adjusted. That was August, wish I could attach files to show. Fast forward to Levco taking over and I was ready to again write corporate regarding the unprofessionalism and my resulting distaste for Alexsa but she had left the company only to return with her same mess later. Levco opted out of billing water with rent so in the process of getting sick (go to the hospital sick not a cold), a 2 week vacation ending on Christmas eve, the holidays, and the snowstorms my water bill got overlooked. I also dont check my mail regularly because Im afraid of the geese that linger by the mailboxes. Levco sends out notice that water billing will resume at a flat rate of $80 which Ive never paid as much when it was based on usage. In late March (26th) Alexsa called me about my water bill and I questioned the amount so she sent me the statement with the utility companys number written out on it. I paid 1250 for April rent just to open my door to a late notice FOR THE WATER THEY OPTED OUT OF BILLING but then reapplied without notice. I called Alexsa who said call corporate who never returned my call but instead a court summons shows up. I go to court to dispute the validity of the late and legal fees on 5/8/18 (the anniversary of the stabbing) and was shocked to find out they were suing for possession of the unit where my rent was PAID. Obviously the judge felt it was some validity to the case because I was given a trial date 5/30 however knowing they did wrong their attorney faxed the court requesting a dismissal on the 29th which caused me to still show up. I questioned the dismissal only to find it was done deceptively. They requested it be Dismissed- paid 1st right redemption which means the rent IS PAID so I could keep possession of the unit while allowing them to still collect any late or legal fees but the fees are what I was disputing. I still refuse to pay a late fee of a $40 for water when it was never due to Levco or legal fees for a court date they cheated me out of. My attorney is now involved. I moved out 7/3/18. Alexsa said my prorated charge would be $135, I asked how when 1250/31×3 is $121, she said the use 30 days which isnt fair because July is 31. I informed her she was still wrong because at that 1250/30×3 is $125, she got mad and told me pay whatever I want; I paid $121. On my final walk thru I asked to be present because I dont trust her at all but of course it was done without me, thankfully I had done a video so any discrepancies would be documented. They only charged me so I was told for a drip pan that I replaced and not cleaning the carpet that they are ripping out for renovations and that they cleaned at their expense about a month ago because it was delaminating after they cleaned the blood. I didnt provide them my forwarding address so I will be picking up any final bill in a few days. Any surprises will be sent to my attorney.
Loving the renovations they are doing! Super friendly and helpful staff!
Moved in September 15th and have been charged valet trash..But I am Valet trash. Never received my trash can. But still is getting charged for this service. Have talked to multiple people in the office but still not resolved yet.
I would not recommend anyone to move here. Ive been having problems since I moved here in December. With rodents in my ceiling that are still there, Ive put in 5 separate maintenance requests ( I have videos of sounds). That didnt do any good. A snake was in my apartment recently. They send the maintenance guy down there to put snake repellent down. They tried to downplay the situation. I also called Animal Control, but by then the snake was removed and it wasnt anything they could do. Animal control said a professional needs to come and inspect, so that means not the maintenance guy. The leasing manager didnt even try to offer me a hotel for the night for this inconvenience, or figure out anything. Even after I said I wasnt comfortable going back until Termix comes out, she make a joke saying I cant stay in the leasing office all night. The plumb is also old. I have black specks of some kind when I run the water for the tub. You can put a pretty bow over a pile of poop, but it is still poop. These people just want your hard earned money. Please dont be fooled by any response they may put under this review. I will update it myself if things change. Which is doubtful to say the least. The maintenance guy is nice though. The picture of the computer screen are the only requests that are showing, the rest were deleted. Luckily I printed the other request out previously. So I do have documentation.Update: The water heat was the issue for the black brownish specks. Maintenance came and took care of it. They did a great job. Termix came to spray, but that didnt help at all. All types of bugs gets into my apartment. An of course the rodents are still there smh. Heard them last night 8/21/18. Whats worst my neighbor says they are RACCOONS. They took pictures of them just hanging out in the bushes. So yeah, Im ready to go. Alexa still has an attitude. Guess shes pleasant with people who doesnt bring up any apartment issues lol. Im the one thats not comfortable where I pay rent and cant get any sleep.
I am a current resident. The management staff is rude and the new owners do not attend to resident’s concerns. I have tried countless times to reach the “owner” of the company to make complaints but have never received a call back. Parking is terrible for residents as they constantly have to compete for parking spaces. The rent is way overpriced and utilities are very expensive.
Great Staff ... I have been living here for years and I am happy to see the renovations and progress. Thank you Levco and thank you for your customer service.
Love the apartments and the staff. Awesome place
Maintenance, what maintenance, takes too long to get anything fixed, trashy, snakes all over, poop all over. Workout room is a joke, bathroom nasty. Parking, Hahaha, good luck. Pay for valet trash pick up and in your hrsd bill. No close dumpster when no pick up, Thurs, Fri & Sat. Some apts are section 8 also... Price... WOW way too much for this place
These apartments are messed up. Even though you have a numbered spot, people still take your spot. Maintenance sucks. Overpriced for an apartment that doesnt keep their apartment building clean on the outside. Gutters are filled with nature stuff.
Great apartments & awesome staff!!
Not the best place to stay when it becomes to bayside an the team of the damn St. Croix
