Wonderful staff and Dr Burnett truly makes you feel like you are being cared for as a family member. They have taken wonderful care of all three of my pit mixes and always treat them like there fur babies. Used to use another vet in Cobb and had to switch due to it being bought out by corporate. I am glad to know there are still wonderful family owned clinics like this one that care about your pets health rather then money. I will keep bringing my fur kids here without a doubt πΆπΎβ€οΈ
This doctor saved my dogs life. She had so many problem with throwing up profusely and not eating or drinking for several days. The previous vet sent our dog home in such horrible conditions we thought she was going to die (they had her in their care for almost 3 day) . As soon as we called this vet, they answered right away and helped us without hesitation. The doctor waited on us and knew the problem right away . He was right to the point and did everything he needed to save our baby. In one day she is now back to eating and playing like normal . We are beyond grateful to the doctor and his staff and know that in any emergency to contact them first. They are absolutely amazing and lovely people. They will have your pets health as a main priority .
Very caring, deserve more than 5 stars. Had to put our dog down who was ill and of old age. They were so compassionate, allowed us as much time as needed to grieve, gave us paw prints and nose prints and said a prayer over our baby and our family. It was the best of a hard situation. Thank you for making the process something bearable.
Im glad you responded the way you did!It shows the exact attitude of this practice! This is what everyone that comes to this place can expect.Such class...Who would want to bring there pet here??
Yesterday morning started out horrible...my sweet banshee girl woke up and we immediately knew something was wrong. We took her in and she had to have emergency surgery. The staff was absolutely amazing. They distracted my 8 year old son and even got him breakfast. They took amazing care of my girl and I cant thank them enough for saving my girls life! Will be forever grateful!!
Yesterday was my first visit to Atlanta West and I was super impressed! Everyone was so friendly and they loved on my Smeagol as if he were their own! Doc was super friendly and down to earth! They are going above and beyond to help us resolve Smeagols ear issues! I will definitely be taking my other 3 boys there!
They have cared for our 4 dogs and 4 cats about 10+ years now. Service is AWESOME, prices are reasonable. I had 2 dogs and 1 cat we had to put to sleep, all within 2 weeks. They did an awesome job, kept them pain free, and even said a small prayer with them. We had them all cremated, they took care of everything, and was very supportive from 1st exam to picking up their ashes. Highest respect!!
Everyone of the staff are patient and caring with our animals. 2 of our dogs love going here. Doc Win takes time to explain what is happening. We had a scary time with a new dog with intestinal problems (blockage?). Instead of suggesting surgery right away, he tried other things. She is doing great now. Was so cute to see the tech holding 50lbs of sleepy dog in her lap, trying to wake her.
My first visit there was Thursday the 10th. Brought my dog to see him. The staff was friendly and the Dr was okay.. he said my dog had high blood pressure and was having a stroke but I dont think its that I think its something else. He didnt give us any medicine for the high blood pressure. All we got was puppy mix and clindamycin to give her. And now today shes having it again... We called the clinic and they told us that they cant do anything else for her expect to put her down and Im not doing that.π€¬π€¬π€¬
The vet and whole staff especially Tara ( hope I spelled it right) are down right awesome, they helped my dog in more ways than one. They are the best!!!!
I have heard horrible things about the entire staff. Its a money millHorrible place
Doc makes me feel like my animals are loved like his own. staff is fantastic and prices are a plus.
Affordable prices and friendly staff. The bill at check out was actually less than I was expecting, and thats rare at a vet! They helped me with my two 55lb dogs who have what I term a personality. There were plenty of treats and pets to go around, and the vet even got them both a cute bandana. One of my dogs is a drama queen, and they were patient with him through the shots and nail trimming. I highly recommend this place, and I plan to take my dogs there again.
I love Doc and his team! Very professional and caring. My dog sir Fitz William is a lot to handle and they are so patient! They go above and beyond to ensure he is properly cared for and explain every detail to us thoroughly.
I cannot begin to say how much I appreciate DOC and his staff for always taking good care of my chickens my roosters my guinea pigs! they really care about what theyre doing and the animals and theyve always done a great job with my guys! thank you guys for always being there!!
Really great place. I felt very comfortable in bringing in my reptile here. The staff is wonderful and they will try to find a solution to any problem you have with your animals. They are very knowledgeable and have a love for animals here. π
Came here with my daughter and the staff was very friendly all had smiles and answered questions the Dr was awesome and friendly he was very gentle and soft spoken. May have to bring my baby here
I cant say enough about each and every person I have encountered at this animal hospital. They work hard for their patients and their owners, are conscientious and caring. They listen and are patient with me and my little dog. Their in-house groomer, Amy, is a treasure as well. I will continue to drive significantly out of my way to bring my dog here for care. Thanks guys for all that you do, and God bless!
Cant say enough good things about this place. I recently moved to Villa Rica and have been searching for a vet to do home visits because my dog doesnt do well in the car. Hes a rescue and due to something that happened in his past, sometimes doesnt do well with strangers. His staff are extremely nice and professional- I called on a Tuesday & Dr. Burnett came to my home the very next day. Not only was he on time, he was a GODSEND when it came to bonding with my dog. I cant express this enough how good he is with animals- Dr. Burnett gave him 6 shots without Bubba even noticing. It was a miracle. It was over less than 30 minutes. His services are extremely affordable and put me at ease when it comes to ever needing my dog to see a vet in the future. If you have a stubborn animal or get anxiety about your pet needing to see a vet- Dr. Burnett is the man you need to see.
We took 7 puppies from our Dogo litter there for ear cropping.First, The ears were cut unevenly on several of the dogs. One female was taken back and the vet did fix that puppies ears.Second, We were told by the vet that we could easily remove the staples ourselves, however the staple removal was included in the cost of cropping. When we tried this the puppies were clearly in a lot of pain so we stopped immediately. We called the vet to schedule an appointment, but the earliest they could schedule us was 5 days past the 2 week mark for staple removal. They said this would not be a problem. It was actually better that the staples stayed in longer.Third, Our appointment was at 9:30am. We were not out of there until 2:30pm. 5 hours to remove staples, and we had an appointment. We were also charged $100 per puppy after we were told that the removal was included, but it might be $25 a dog if they have to be put under for the staple removal.Fourth, two dogs had staples left in their ears from the vet that he missed while removing the staples.I will never go to this vet again, and I would never recommend anyone using this vet. Very unprofessional and not concerned at all with customer service. They did not apologize for the length of time it took. Half of a day of work missed and charged more than quoted.
The Doctor and staff are friendly loving people who actually CARE about your pet! The majority of all my family members bring their pets to Doc for outstanding medical and dental care β€. We highly recommend Atlanta West Veterinary Hospital to our friends, whether it be for our beloved family pets, exotic animal lovers, or farm animals!
I absolutely love this hospital, Im sad well be moving in a few months because the care theyve given our dog has been exceptional. Our dog Rey Mysterio had a freak accident and cut his tail, and we called first to see if they thought it was serious enough to bring in, and even allowed us to email a picture first so they could judge if it was bad and gave us treatment advice. We followed the advice which helped tremendously but he was still in pain and he started crying out one morning, and they were able to fit us in that very day to see his tail. The vet was very straightforward as to why he needed to have his tail docked and why he couldnt just dock part of it, etc, and was very kind to our dog despite our dog being very nervous. They had him the next day for surgery and took care of him so well, and every step of the way they made sure we were informed of everything they were doing and why. Even with bandage changing when Rey was being really difficult, they still treated him well and didnt mind all the extra time and sedation it took to get him down, and laser therapy was also included in the bill, and they trimmed his nails for us as well. And Rey may be nervous, over dramatic mess of a 50 lb dog, but I know he still loves the staff, if his whining whenever they leave the room is anything to go by. Overall, if you want a straightforward vet with fair prices and care for all animals, go here!
The short review (TL;DR): Atlanta West Animal Hospital is AMAZING. The entire team was fabulous, my experience from start to finish was great, and I would definitely bring my pet back for boarding services. I recommend this location and team without reservation. The detailed review:I needed a place to board my cat for about a week while I was out of town on family business (September).I was VERY hesitant to board my sweet Oliver. This was the very first time I have ever left him in someone elses care for an extended period of time with a medical condition. He had just had two visits to an emergency vet, a two-day stay at his regular veterinarians office, and he was required to take meds twice per day. My regular vet did not offer boarding services, so they recommended a couple of places to me. Atlanta West Animal Hospital was one.Worried cat mom with questions:I called and spoke with Terah and she did a fabulous job of providing information about the boarding services, the Doctor, the location of where my pet would be, etc. She answered all my questions, and even answered questions I didnt know I had. I think she could sense my nervousness, and did a tremendous job at making me feel comfortable. She even gave me an alternate suggestion in the event I did not want to board at their location, which was super helpful.I called again, and had some additional questions (I was almost 100% decided on whether to board my cat with Atlanta West AH). I spoke with Susan this time, and she also did a great job of explaining what was needed to be able to board, answered my additional questions and also got an appointment for the boarding exam that worked with my schedule. The office:Upon arrival, I was impressed by the separate entrances for cats and dogs. Oliver hasnt been around dogs, so Im sure would have been even more anxious with the unfamiliar sounds and smells. The staff was also concerned about the pandemic and required the use of masks, which I was pleased with. The office was very clean and organized, and the waiting room had some prescription food, treats, and other things that were not overpriced. The Doctor:Dr. Burnett was GREAT! He shared his background and expertise, made some suggestions on after care for my cat (prescribed some meds that would help with his condition - SUPER THANKFUL for that!), gave my son a treat and even gave me a little something to listen to on my trip. :)The Team & pickup:I called a couple of times to check in on Oliver, and each staff member I spoke with was very kind. They werent bothered at all that I was calling, which I was concerned about (I didnt want to be THAT parent, lol). When I made it back to pick him up, he had been given a bath, and the team all said how much they enjoyed him and how loving & sweet he was. To me, this spoke volumes. For my cat to be social and sweet even when he didnt feel well, said to me that he felt comfortable during his stay. The pricing:The pricing for the boarding services were VERY reasonable, and the staff even kept track of the medications that were administered. When I got him home, he was happy to see me and didnt show any signs of stress, which said to me that he had a great time at Atlanta West AH.Overall:I would DEFINITELY and without a doubt bring him back should I ever need to board him. I would also bring him back if he had an emergency need. Honestly, I would love to bring him back just to spend the night! Thank you to the Team at Atlanta West Animal Hospital. You can tell that each member of your team care about animals and treat them like they are your own. Thank you thank you THANK YOU!
The nurse that spoke with me on the phone was great and very helpful. I had an emergency with my dog and she helped me fill things out before me and my husband even got there. The vet we spoke with was also awesome. He made me feel at ease and didnt belittle me or make me feel bad about choices I had to make. The price was pretty much what I expected. We were in and out a lot faster than I thought we would be, and I had a great experience here. I hope we never have an emergency again, but if we do I know where Ill be going π
We had a stray show up to our home on Friday night and needed to see if he was chipped or not and to have a vet do a quick health exam. We brought him in around 20 min before closing on Saturday and the whole staff was super supportive and stayed late to get the stray checked out. Most of them swung by the room to see him. Doc was great and took care of the exam, gave βWillie Nelsonβ his shots and gave some good advice. We will definitely be returning when we have any vet needs.
The best animal hospital EVER! I love everybody up there.
The staff is very rude.
This man saved our dogs life!! She had a severe case of pyometra and was literally knocking on deaths door. From the moment of signing in they treated Cinderella as family. He also gave us an amazing deal for the surgery, shots, medicine, and even nail trim that was completed. I will forever be grateful and will recommend him to all family and friends!!
I wanna give a special shout out and a special thank you to the doctor at Atlanta west animal hospital for helping my sisters dog out at such a short notice. I come in there with his eye hanging out of socket and with no Hesitation he took action to help him out and to save his life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did for Jeffrey. If anyone is looking for a good doctor for there fur babies I Recommend Dr. Burnett from Atlanta west animal hospital in villa rica ga.
All the staff are friendly and helpful, and Doc Win takes good care of my cats. When my kitten fell and broke his leg, Doc Win put on a cast/splint that was perfect and had the leg healed in a couple weeks. I could not ask for better professional service than I receive at AWAH. Plus Doc Win is a great musician and singer!
I have only been bringing my babies here a few years, but I absolutely love this place and will not go any place else now! Some years ago my vet on Hwy 5 retired, so I have tried other vets and was content. But after a move, I decided to try Dr. Burnett due to close proximity to my new home. It is the BEST decision I could have made! Doc and staff have been super kind, friendly, and most importantly, caring. I feel they have the best interest of the many pets they see at heart. And I feel very at home myself. I also love that they have a separate entrance for cats and dogs...Im sure it helps their sanity too! LOLI appreciate that they take time to respond to negative reviews here and try to rectify any issues. I would venture to guess that those leaving negative reviews likely leave more negative reviews than positive, because Ive never had a bad experience here. I would highly recommend at least giving them a try if you are in search of a vet. You wont be disappointed!
This was my first visit here. I have two puppies under a year old both are medium size, same breed with very different hair types and personalities. The groomer Amy was excellent with them and they look fantastic. The office staff was so friendly at both drop off and pick up. Iβm new here and they had to go through all the paperwork which they did quickly. I know they care because they asked me about my puppies preferences and personalities. My puppies will require routine grooming as they are high maintenance dogs. I will definitely be coming back here for all my services. For me with high maintenance dogs itβs very important the puppies have a good experience and are happy to go in to see everyone.
I am totally satisfied with bringing my fur baby Simeon to Dr. Burnett and his wonderful staff. I had an appointment for Simeon to get his shots and blood work and all went well. Simeon was very calmed and relaxed with Dr. Burnett and staff. Knowing that he was comfortable made me relax as well. They took great care of Simeon and answered all questions that I had concerning his visit. I have been to Dr. Burnett years before and his personality is still wonderful. I will continue to take Simeon to Dr. Burnett for all future visits. Keep of the Great work and the love for all fur babies that come for your care!!! Lol, one more gold nugget, I wasnt feeling my best due to allergies and Dr Burnett /Staff was concerned about my well being.... Lol Bingo, a keeper!! You couldnt ask for more!!! ππΉππ±Sandy/Simeon π±
I have been taking my furry family members to Atlanta West Animal Hospital for years. They have always been kind to our pets and gave every effort to make sure they returned home with us. We drive from Hiram to Villa Rica which takes a while, but would not take them anywhere else. If you have an after hours emergency they dont send you to a clinic that charges you an arm and leg to see your pet. They meet you at their facility in Villa Rica and the charges are always reasonable. This has been my experience and I wanted to share it.
Completely disappointed. Sat there for 30 minutes listening to the vet talk about personal stuff on the other side of door. Had a six week old baby with me who was upset. Didnt light a fire for him to speed up. Been coming here years but will not be returning!
I called the office on a Sunday afternoon praying we would be able to find help for my 15 year old yorkie. Dr. Burnett answered the phone himself and met us at the clinic immediately. The doctor was very loving with my dog and very honest and straightforward with us about his condition. My poor baby was put to sleep, but Dr. Burnett gave me such a sense of peace. He was so respectful and caring. I am so grateful for him and his treatment.
Doc Win is amazing with all his patients; animals and owners. Some with and the techs. They love all the babies.
LOVE LOVE LOVE absolutely EVERYONE at Atlanta West Animal Hospital!!! I cannot put into words how wonderful this clinic is....from the moment I walked in the door! Everyone is so friendly, helpful and loving! They are so flexible and caring! I just had an emergency situation with one of my beloved fur babies, and they took the BEST care of her! I truly believe had I taken her anywhere else she would not have made it! Their top priority is NOT to see how much money they can rake in, they truly have the animals best interest at heart. They put up with me calling continuously to check on her, and allowed me to come visit her anytime I wanted! They are a vet clinic that truly cares!!! I will never be able to thank Dr. Lohani, Dawn, Rachel, and everyone else there enough for taking such great care of my beloved Pixie! You all are one of a kind! I have made new friends that feel like family to me at Atlanta West Animal Hospital!
Great staff and great environment! I dont think I will go to any other vet but this one. The staff truly cares for your pet. A staff member was kind enough to purchase my dog a new collar without me even asking for it, free of charge! The doctor has a ton of experience and once you come in youll find out quickly that your pet will be taken very good care of and that the staff knows what theyre doing. Very reasonable prices and they may even give you a discount! If you want a vet that really cares and has decent prices and great services then this is the vet for you.
I brought my cat, Puckwudgie, to Atlanta West this week. Id been using another local vet for years, but had stopped due to staff changes. My boyfriend takes his cat to Dr. Burnett and really likes him. Anyway, I returned home from work late Tuesday night to find that the side of Pucks face had been sliced off and was hanging. He is an indoor cat, and I had no idea what could have happened, but I freaked out! I called Atlanta West early the next morning, and they were kind enough to give us an immediate appointment. EVERYONE was wonderful, and I really appreciated them squeezing us in, especially since Puck was a new patient. Hes fine, by the way - a tooth came out, pierced his cheek and it abscessed. Thank you!
The doctor & staff here are incredible!!! Such loving people who genuinely care about the well being of all animals!! They saved the 4 week old kitten I brought in today & was so good to her!! I canβt thank them enough.
We have been bringing our girls there for nearly 4 years - while they are never excited to go to the vets office - the warm welcome and attention your pets get is wonderful! Our girls have kidney disease so we go twice a week for fluids...highly recommend them.Dr Madhukar is very understanding and caring and I feel my girls are totally safe with him.
Doctor Win & His team are Incredible. Highly Recommend ππβ€

Update (6/17/19) - My concerns were warmly and professionally addressed! Thank you Mrs. A. Bullington for your time, grace, and outstanding customer service!
Spectacular service! My Bella had an emergency and Dr. Lohani took the best care of her we couldnt be happier with our experience with this vet and we will defiantly be taking her back! And the price was great too!
I will NOT be coming back to this place and trusting my animals in their care. The people that live upstairs buys and sales pot. The few times Ive walked into this place the smell was so much that it took my breath away. Im not against marijuana but when it comes to illegal use in a facility that is open to the public theres a concern. One of the female techs there looked so high she couldnt even function on doing her job correctly. This is NOT a professional way to run a veterinarian hospital. Those poor animals. What a shame!
Staff is so nice! They truley care about animals. Very reasonably priced! Love all the vets. I wish my Drs had this kind of chipper and sweet bedside manner! They really do go above and beyond! Highly recommended!
The Atlanta West team is very attentive and helpful. The clinic is clean and the staff loves animals! The administration team as well as the Drs are dedicated. The office runs smoothly and on the technical side the Drs know animals and diagnosis. I highly recommend the team to anyone concerned with keeping their pets and animals in excellent condition.
We took our English Bulldog in because he had recently had several surgeries and had pulled out 2 stitches around his eye. Dr. Burnett and his staff were awesome. He fixed our baby up and gave him the meds that the vet that did his surgery didnt give him. So now he is going back to Dr. Burnett to get his stitches out. They will be our vet while we are OTR drivers for East-West Express.
Dr. Lohani and Penny are the best!! They care about my dogs as much as I do! They put my animals health and well-being first. I love them!!
We have taken our 6 year old Havanese, Camilla, to Atlanta West for nearly three years now. Our pup started having difficulty urinating and was peeing blood. It was determined she had bladder stones. One was bigger than a quarter! They brought Camilla in on a Tuesday, removed 17 stones, and had her back to us on Thursday. It is now two weeks after the procedure. Camilla is doing great. Dr. Lohani and staff did an amazing job with Camilla, before, during, and after her surgery. They all care greatly for their patients. We couldnt have asked for better care for our pup.
Nice but a bunch of know nothings that like to brag about how much they know. Wasted my time there time and my money.
Sold me old flea product claiming it worked but they lied. I asked me to recomend the newest product. they sold me Nexgard which came out years ago i find out and has been shown to cause severe side effects and even death. The stuffs not even killing the fleas. I feel so ripped off.
Found a puppy and took it to have it scanned for a chip. The staff was wonderful in helping us track down the owner.
Read an article in The Douglas County Sentinel in December about stem cell therapy being done at Atlanta West Animal Hospital by Dr. Lohani. Talked with our regular vet to see what they knew of this treatment. Told them this was being done by a local vet. They provided a copy of the medical records that we took to Dr. Lohani. Lucky was 15 at the time, a month after the surgery he turned 16. We saw immediate improvement in his hips. In addition, his spine that had been affected by arthritis has straightened. Both Dr. Lohani and Dr. Burnett were professional and answered all questions during the treatment and follow-up care. The entire staff was great.
I love this vet!! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and really care about your pets. My german shepherd, Kaiser, was diagnosed with lymphoma. Dr. Lohani was absolutely wonderful! Everything from diagnosis and thru each treatment has been done with compassion and with Kaisers best interests in mind. Dr. Lohani found a chemotherapy option that works within my available funds. Kaiser has had 3 treatments so far and has done wonderfully! Dr. Lohani took the time to explain all of the options, including the pros and cons. We opted for chemotherapy. Starting off with low dosage and increasing the dosage by thirds every other month until we reached a maximum dose. We then continue the max dose every other month. Kaisers tumors has shrunk so dramatically over the first 3 doses that I can only find 1 now, and that one only because it is in his throat in an obvious place. This primary lymph node went from the size of an orange to that of a small grape. Dr. Lohani uses prednisone daily with the chemo to give Kaiser as few symptoms as possible. At first, Kaiser had a few UTIs and 1 respiratory infection because the lymphoma, prednisone, and chemo lowers his immune system. Now, we have a very low prednisone dose and the infections are under control with the help of a cranberry supplement. Now the only noticeable side effect of the chemo is Kaiser being tired the day of and 1 day after injection. He has had none of the other possible side effects such as nausea or hair loss. I was so afraid of starting Kaiser on chemo. I have seen how hard chemo is on humans. Dr. Lohani was very honest about the possibility of side effects and problems that could occur and their likelihood. He reassured me and has been there for us every step of the way. I am so glad I listened to him! Kaiser has the same great quality of life and is still 100% Himself. Dr. Lohani keeps a good eye on his blood work and always takes the time to reassure me and answer all of my questions. Chemotherapy has given Kaiser and me so much more time together than we would have otherwise had and has allowed Kaiser to maintain his quality of life beyond what I hoped given his prognosis. For all this, I have Dr. Lohani and the staff at Atlanta West to thank. If you have a pet with cancer, I urge you to talk with Dr. Lohani and see if chemo is an option. The animal experience with chemo is so much easier on them than the human experience!!
My husband and I have used Doc Win for years and wouldnt go to anyone else. He really cares about the animals.
