I have used Route 64 for oil changes for both of my cars, and they’ve always done a great job. So when I needed new brakes, I went to them because their pricing was very competitive, and they do outstanding work. No high-pressure sales tactics, they don’t tell you you need something done that you don’t, and they have great coupons on their website. They are always friendly, the shop is clean, and they work quickly. Which is important when it’s charged by the hour. They do a great job, and they are very honest and fair. Their prices seems to be much lower than some of the other shops in the area. I highly recommend Route 64 for all of your automotive needs. You won’t be disappointed

I pulled in around lunchtime on a Tuesday afternoon and the manager Dan said that the guys were going on lunch they would be with me within a half hour. I decided to go run and get myself something to eat. I came back a half hour later and they were able to see my car right away. About an hour and 15 minutes later my car was ready. I was very pleased with the service. And the fact that they were willing to repair my exhaust problems instead of replacing the whole system. I will definitely be using this place again for all my future car care needs.

My feedback is in regards to the customer service and a one time experience.It appears as though they could use a receptionist to be fair. Someone to follow up with new and old clients before, during, and maybe after service(s).I felt like the over all service did not have to consume my entire day either. I took my vehicle in for a full service oil change, a/c fix and overall inspection. That experience started at 0900 hrs. I called the location at about noon to inquire about my services and was told Id receive follow up in a couple hours. 3.5 hours later still no follow up, so I just showed up to the location.Overall the pricing was more than acceptable, but it came at the cost of time related inconvenience. Afterwards, I felt as though the issue that I initially brought my vehicle in for was resolved. I do still feel like I could use a second opinion regarding some additional concerns I addressed before completion.Bottom line would recommend!#MarqWasHere

I love this place. They are VERY honest, and super nice. I had my truck towed here because it is literally right down the street, and they put a new battery in it, and I was on my way. That battery was still going strong when I traded my truck in!! I also brought my truck here in the winter when my tires were low (due to the weather change), and they filled them up, no charge. If you want an honest mechanic, bring your vehicle here.

This repair shop is very good. I have an old 2000 BMW 323i which is very expensive to repair when I go to ELMHURST BMW but my son told me I should try them because he had them fix something on his van. They gave me great service and didn’t charge me a lot to replace a pulley and radiator hose. Check them out. Danny there said I would love them and he was right!

Friendly Honest

They came to me. My job is kitty corner and I had no idea what was wrong. The mechanic came right over to help and went back to get the manager. Together they figured out what my troubles were and followed me to their business. My car was serviced and I was out in an hour tops. Wow! What repair company comes out to take care of a potential customer and does it without jacking up fees or costs of repair? Route 64, thats who!

Nice ppl that know what theyre doing, I miss coming here. They know their customers and will greet you by name after the first visit. I always trusted their advice as well. I used to go over there for maintenance and oil changes, best oil change price in town!

If youre shopping around for a trustworthy mechanic and you dont know whats wrong with your car, I recommend you do not come here or youll most likely regret it. I came to this shop with a check engine light on, aware that my car had a few issues. After inspection, I was told that yes, it had various issues but that roughly $400 could get my car running smoothly again. First they worked on the spark plugs and it did nothing, then there was a leak, and then they diagnosed for a new ignition control module. After spending a little over $500, my car still did not run smoothly at all. This crew may be good hands on, but they dont know how to diagnose. You want your mechanic to be good at diagnosing, although sadly not all of them are. On top of that, they arent going to give you their honest opinion. What theyll do is just tell you to get the jobs done, because its a business. My car is now at Victory Auto Wreckers because since the beginning, the car was junk. And I found that out after doing my own research. $500 did not make it run smoothly like they promised. I dont blame the mechanics, I blame the manager. Save your money and go to someone that knows how to properly diagnose and will give you their honest opinion, like that its going to take way more than a few hundred to fix. If not, go ahead and come here and have them guess whats wrong with your car until maybe just maybe they get to the root of the problem.

Long story short: they aligned my truck while it had a bad ball joint, sent me on my way with a dangerous vehicle, then they denied they had done anything wrong.Full version: My truck had been pulling to the left, so I took it to Route 64, which I had used and been happy with a couple times in the past. When they gave me the truck back, and charged me $90, it was still pulling to the left just as badly. I called them the next day, because I had a road trip coming up that weekend, but they could not get me in before the trip. I fought the pull the whole trip, which was very annoying.After the trip, I scheduled an appointment for them to fix the alignment under warranty. This time they got it to track straight, so I was initially happy. A few days later, the night before I was supposed to leave for another trip, I started hearing and feeling a pop under full steering lock. I brought it to a friend of mine who is an ASE certified tech and an auto shop teacher to inspect it. He found a very loose upper left ball joint. It was so loose that he said, “I can’t believe we just took this truck to Indiana.” He refused to let me drive the truck, and lent me his extra car to use on my trip.After that second trip, I brought the truck to a different shop to get the ball joint fixed. When I told him that another shop had aligned it with that bad ball joint he said, “That’s crazy that they missed that, it was plainly obvious to see.”I went back to Rt. 64 to give them a chance to make it right, to at least refund me the money I’d wasted getting my truck aligned with bad parts, but they insist it was somehow tight three days before it was very loose.This shop missed a very bad safety defect. They sent me on a trip with a defective vehicle, that if it had come apart at highway speeds would have been catastrophic. I will never go back to this shop again. Their attention to detail and care for the customer is sorely lacking, to say the least.

Dan the owner has basically become a family friend to us, and words cannot describe how thankful we are for him and his crew. They have helped me out of a lot of stressful situations and have gone above and beyond the call of duty on many occasions. Honest group of guys, they will explain exactly what the problem is in a way that you can actually understand. For every different problem I went to them with, I can safely say I was only charged about 1/4 of the cost I would expect to pay at any other mechanic. Honest and Thorough. My Mom had an some lights coming on 11 Rav4, went to a few auto repair places in area who were overpriced (I use to work on cars many years ago). Spoke with Dan at Route 64 over phone while he was helping my Mom, who is older with medical issues. He was very competent and considerate, gave me an upfront competitive price to replace the part the others were going to replace. In addition, the caught a ground issue, asked to keep it another day to do addition tests, then asked if she was previously in car accident (which she was), the removed the grounds, cleaned off the paint, took car on test drives and fixed the ground issue as well (at no additional charge), picked up car next morning. Good honest service and a good price.

I was told what the problem was in detail and the price before any work was done. The price I was quoted is what I paid, they stand behind their work. I use to like it here. But 1.5 h waiting for an oil change is absurd. I wanted the fuel filter checked as well and thought that maybe thats why the hold up, but NO they didnt check anything. They didnt even tell me what is the issue with my car. Guess they are woman haters as most mechanics are. Not coming back here.

Weve been using them for over a year we used them when they were still merlin & weve always had great service. All of the employees are friendly & they are honest with you. Had a car accident last year because my brakes went out literally no warning just completely went out. Had the damage from the accident taken care of through insurance but the brakes done through route 64. the company that repaired my car gave me a estimate from their sister mechanic for what was wrong with my brakes & a couple other things that could of caused the accident. I thought the repairs it needed sounded fishy so i forwarded their estimate to my dad & hubby & route 64. I was right they were just trying to get more work done then it needed thankful for honest people in this world. bought a couple tires from them not long after & they made sure we received the best pricing

Bad place to take your cars, poor job performance and bad service took car to get aligned and was aligned incorrectly and when I went to get a tire patch but said they couldnt so then I asked if they can show me the tire and then removed the screw and said it could be patched wich means that they did not even check the tire at all the first time
