I ended up at this place because of his good reviews. I used him 2 times, one to get a diagnosis that was never cleared and to update the software of my vehicle I paid $189. The second time my cars headlights were not working, and it also needed an oil change I paid $329. However, the 3rd time my cars water pump needed to be replaced and I was roughly estimated $950 to get that fixed, theres when I realized this was one of the most expensive mechanics in the High Desert. He could be honest as the reviews say, but he is way too pricey. I was able to get my water pump replaced ELSEWHERE under $200 and my car is doing awesome! Some mechanics are just a rip off, be aware!!!

Went in to the power steering pressure hose replaced. A written estimate was provided ($440). A day and a half later, Duane called to report the labor work would be an additional $200 more. They had no way of knowing the extra labor time, Duane stated. I disagreed. Duane quickly said we could split the cost ($100/$100) with me. In a bind, out of town customer, I reluctantly agreed to split the cost. Duane took no fault for the bad estimate for the labor portion.

We have been taking our vehicles to Duanes for years. They show integrity and provide excellent quality service. Their work is not only dependable but they dont fabricate needed repairs to get extra money from you. Wont ever take my cars anywhere else.

So I took my car to a different mechanic for 6 months he just didnt have the equipment to figure out what was wrong with my car .Someone suggested going to Duanes automotive best thing I ever did he figured out what was wrong with my car .He may charge a little more but its well worth it in the end.

I just moved up to Victorville and was having problems w/ my 2014 Dodge Charger. I was sent to Duanes by another mechanic. I left my car there and after he ran a computer check on my car he found the problem to my Power Steering Pump. He fixed it and I was back on the road.A couple of weeks later my engine light came on and it was from an earlier repair I had done up here in Victorville. I called Duane and he was very helpful answering a few questions I had. Its also important to know that Duane use Factory parts to assure that the part wouldnt be an issue. All in all I HIGHLY recommend going to Duanes Auto.Thanks Duane.

His prices are reasonable but most important is he is honest and does good work. More than once he has done a job for me under the original quote. I went to Duanes to get my check engine light diagnosed before smog...Duanes let me know what was wrong and gave me a reasonable price...car has been running great since then and passed smog with flying colors. ... Called for a price quote and was told they would not work on my car because it is 21 years old, and that they only service vehicles that are 20 years old or less. I have never encountered a shop that has this policy before, and it seems a little counterproductive to me. This being the case, I have to give Duanes Automotive, Inc. a single star.

Duane is very forthcoming in stating that his shop will not work on older cars. I find it interesting that this policy results in 1 star reviews, what service is being reviewed when no work was performed? Regardless I have always found to Duane to be honest and up front about potential cost and problems. They performed an extensive service on my CR-V during which they found a number of issues. They always tried to approach solutions in an economical way when possible, for example- using epoxy to repair a damaged damper (one to many 2x4s stuffed into passenger area), flushing the A/C system to recover from a failed compressor, after market transmission fluid vice overpriced OEM. The coup de grâce however was watching how Duane approached a repair for someone elses car. He took steps beyond anything one would expect of a repair shop to ensure a Senior citizens car would pass a second attempt at a smog test after having had repairs done. The level of concern and care shown in ensuring this persons only mode of transportation remained serviceable is commendable. I am sorry to see any reviews that would imply Duane and his staff deliver anything but the best customer service possible.

Duane came highly recommended as the shop to re-program the Transmission on a 2014 Ford Focus. When I arrived the technician didnt seem to know how to do it, but he said he would look at it. Shortly thereafter we were told the ECM was burned out and would need to be replaced. I picked up the car and brought it to the Ford Dealer. The technician a Duanes had broken the the OBDII Connector and shorted out the plug. I dont think Duane is at the shop any more, because this guy was an idiot. The reputation does not match the experience.

They are expensive on their repairs,they do decent work but the owner has an attitude problem .

After paying A & F Automotive $4,000.00 to NOT fix my Dodge Diesel Pickup, they sent it to Duanes Automotive without my consent or knowledge whatsoever. Once I found out my truck was at Duanes for 3 days and I stijll had not heard from them, I went over to find out what was needed and how much it would be. Duane was very rude and arrogant and hadnt even looked at my truck. Basically a waste of my valuable time. After a week went by with no word, I called Duane and he stated my reconditioned ECU I had just purchased for $900.00 was bad and he couldnt program it. I asked for it to send back for a refund and he said he needed it as a core to buy a new one from the dealer. A new part from the dealer does not require a core charge. After buying the so called dealer ECU, he then called me to tell me I needed a #4 injector due to the truck sitting for 1 year. I approved it and after another week (4 so far) Duane called me again and now said ALL of my injectors were bad. I should have picked up the truck right then and there because I did not believe him. My truck ran great for almost an hour prior to the ECU problem and that would have been impossible with plugged injectors at 60k miles on a Cummins. I then called Pat from A & F and asked him about Duanes character. That was another dumb mistake of mine because I feel like they were on cahoots! Reluctantly I had him finish up my truck because I needed it running and smogged to get my tags. After paying another $6k to Duane I finally got my truck back with a smog certificate and a smoking truck. Not that the truck was smoking hot or fast but it literally smokes white like crazy. My gut instinct told me this guy was a crook, but I ended up having my wife take my daughters 4runner to him for a check engine light and smog. I was in a meeting in Los Angeles when Duane called me and said it needed a sensor and it would run $480.00 to replace it. Being in the meeting I said go ahead and order it. After about 10 minutes I excised myself from the meeting and called him back and asked which sensor. He said it was the mass air flow sensor. I called Napa which is where Duane gets most of his parts and they quoted me $75.00 & had it in stock. I cancelled the part with Diane and changed it myself for $82.00 & 10 minutes of my time. He deseves to have his license permanently revoked and put out of business! After the first bad experience at Duanes it was shame on me!! I will never go there again and I will try my best to put the word out against this doshonest crook and FAKE!!! NEVERD AGAIN!!!

STAY AWAY FORM HERE! This is the worst auto mechanic shop ever! The shop refused to work on our vehicle because it was old and then the owner used profanity when I questioned his practices. If you have an older car dont take it here. One star was given but no stars should be.
