I do enjoy every visit to VERNON HILLS DENTAL CENTER for checkups as both Dr. Parker’s (Father and son) are wonderful, caring, and very knowledgeable dentists. They are both welcoming, warm, and extremely friendly. The majority of my time was spent with Erica, who was my Hygienist. She was phenomenal, funny, caring, and is truly amazing at her craft. Anyone should feel lucky to have her as their Hygienist. Thank you for making my experience great!

Dr. Parker was rude and unprofessional. He tried to force me to get a new x-ray every single 6 month cleaning. I have no cavities and no issues with my teeth…. None. When I told him I would do it every 3 visits instead, he literally ripped the towel off of my neck and said he can’t help me if I won’t do the x-ray, and then just walked out of the room and told me to find a new dentist. What? Who acts like that? Something is very seriously wrong with this man. Avoid this practice at all costs.

I have gone to Dr. Parker for years (no relation). His hygenists provide excellent service, explain dental care, and always accommodate my special requests. Dr. Parker is very friendly and honest, extremely knowledgeable, and will not rest until he gets to the origin of your dental issues. Also, he is not one to bill you every time you may need to return for a minor adjustment like other area dentists (which is why I no longer go where the dentist posts photos of his own ski lodge and fancy car). The office staff is organized and friendly, willing to help with scheduling changes. I am pleased to recommend Vernon Hills Dental.

The doctor and staff are really good. I am giving 2 stars because of the treatment estimates they gave me. When they gave the treatment plan, they said everything is covered by insurance. But they came back asking me that I owe a good chunk after insurance payment. I might not went for it, if I knew if upfront. So, be cautious with the estimates.

BEWARE!!!!!!!!!! I went in for work, I specifically asked for only an exam because I did not have dental insurance, the lady was very understanding, as she wrote up an estimate for $140.00 for the exam an X-Ray. I agreed and signed the estimate for $140.00. I asked her to tell the dentist not to do anything else but the exam, I saw the dentist and he did whatever he does. Granted I havent been to the dentist in 10 years I wasnt completely sure what he was doing in my mouth. After 10 minutes he was done and asked me to schedule a future appointment. When I went to pay the $140.00 the lady who gave me the estimate and ensured that nothing else would be done during the visit told me that the dentist gave me a filling. She said I owed $513.00. I ended up paying the bill right then and there. When I try to call about this discrepancy they continue to ignore and not return my phone calls. It has been 3 weeks and they refuse to let me speak with the doctor if I can even get a hold of them. Like I mentioned earlier. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Stephen Parker is my dentist since two years ago, when I moved to the US. He made me change my general opinion about dentists and, believe or not, I do enjoy every visit I make. The place is clean and pro, the staff is very friendly and make you feel comfortable. Dr. Parker is always positive. He only does what needs to be done, and he clearly explains you what are the best options and they are always reasonable. And he honors his name: all procedures are painless. This Dental practice is AMAZING! They have such a wonderful staff and offer pain free procedures. When I say pain free, thats EXACTLY what I mean. I had to get a deep cleaning done and was dreading it. But after having the procedure done, to my surprise it was breeze. The oral hygienist, Francisco, gives you a numbing mouthwash instead of poking you with numerous needles! He was very thorough and was always making sure that I wasnt in any pain or discomfort. The staff there isnt judgmental like some have been in the past. I highly recommend this Dental Center! Thanks Dr. Parker and Francisco for making my smile squeaky clean!!!! :D

Dr Parker is the best dentist I have ever come across. I had to get a new crown on one of my tooth after I had undergone root canal treatment at another dentist location.Not only Dr Parker explained the smallest details in my dental treatment but also during fixing of crown on my tooth, he made sure that crown fixed correctly and made adjustments to it until he was completely sure that the crown aligned properly with my existing teeth. All the staff at his office are also very pleasant and friendly.The overall experience in my dental treatment has been extremely satisfying.I would recommend Dr Parker to all my friends and everyone I know of. Dr Parker is a rockstar, he’s always amazing, extremely careful and makes sure his clients are as comfortable as they can be. I had a top notch dentist for 25 years that retired 6 years ago. After that It took me 10 different dentist before I found Dr Parker 4 years ago. I have a very abnormal and difficult situation with my front teeth. That I have dealt with since I was a kid. Dr Parker has rebuilt both teeth twice in 4 years. Every time he does it with minimal to no pain and the finish product exceed my expectations every time.ThanksDoc

Appointments were pretty much on-time, and the receptionists were helpful. We recently switched our whole family to Dr. Parkers office. It was the best decision that we made. My two children, ages 8 and 10 LOVE Dr. Parkers office and his staff. Myself and my two children just had a cleaning and the exam in Dr. Parkers office---we were able to schedule it when it was convenient for us, the appointment was on time, we received Dr. Parkers and Dental hygienist’s undivided attention. My children were apprehensive switching to a new dentist and not they LOVE Dr. Parkers office.My husband also needed to schedule an appointment with Dr. Parker. Again, Dr. Parker was able to see my husband the same day and perform the procedure the following day--no pain, no worries, no problem!I would highly recommend Dr. Parker and his staff to anyone who is looking for a new dentist--adults and kids!

They are close to our house so I left a voicemail at the office on a Sunday and requested a call back. The office called me the next day promptly in the morning. Great!Easy, fillable patient information forms that are submitted automatically online. Pam, the receptionist, called back after making my appointment with a double cancellation, asking if my husband and I would be available... we were and it worked out perfectly! We were seen this morning and zero complaints! Both hygienists were knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Dr. Parker, who is a military veteran of 27 years (were both Army), is friendly, helpful and great. Two easy cleanings and exams.Highly recommend!

My husband came across Dr Parker after needing emergency treatment and getting great service. Now all the family see Dr Parker and he is great. I have two young children and he is attentive and patient with them and talks them through what is happening. Ive known Dr. Parker ever since he was my dentist while serving in the United States Navy. After leaving the Navy and learning of his private practice, I knew I made the right choice when I chose him to be my dentist. Dr. Parkers staff are extremely courteous and caring; they make me feel comfortable with every office visit. I trust Dr. Parker with my oral health and so should you.

I went in for a routine cleaning. The staff does care about your comfort level, they ask periodically if anything they are doing hurts, and if you are bold you can be totally honest with them and they will accommodate you the best they can. Im used to just bearing through the pain and trying to get through it as quickly as possible. I dont regularly floss, my gums always bleed - yea thats probably because of the lack of flossing, but the stabbing with the metal pick doesnt help either. When Im in the seat, Id rather just not place blame and try not to flinch. But yes, it hurts, Im just not admitting it. Overall, an average experience - very nice people but the procedure hurts.

I had a scheduled appointment for my routine semi-annual cleaning on a Wednesday. The Monday before I awoke to some soreness in my neck. Tuesday I went to see my medical Doc who said, nope not medical see your DDS.Lucky me a scheduled appointment around the corner.We did annual xrays and the cleaning (All painless.) Dr. Parker found a suspicious spot that looked like an infection. He immediately gave me a referral to a specialist.Long story short that specialist gave an an appointment several days out. I woke up the next morning with some more swelling. Called Doc Parker. He had me come in. Looked at me an had staff immediately get me into an oral surgeon for that after noon.Results were a bad angry tooth was causing the problem.Problem resolved.Feeling much better today.Both Doc Parker and the oral surgeon were indeed PAINLESS.Thanks Doc. I guess I should say, Docs.

The best dentist Ive ever had.

Dr Parker put a filling in that came out within months! I too found him after a yelp/Google search and saw all the great reviews. Apparently if you read all the reviews it was for a dentist that was there prior to him. I wont be going back. When you pay $287 out of pocket for a filling to fall out a few months later theres something wrong with the quality of work.

The one filling he did place on the tip of my tooth (a very difficult spot to stay put), matches perfectly and has not fallen out. The staff is always personable and friendly as well!

Because of a heart condition and the infection, we hadto wait a week and a half before he could extract the tooth.In that time he made sure my cardiologist made the right decision onmedication, got rid of the infection and made sure I was managing the pain.The extraction was the best dental experience I have ever had.Even the shots did not hurt. Now a day later I feel great.I plan on going to Dr. Parker on a regular basis. which for me is a miracle,May thanks

I am a new member at Vernon Hills Dental Center and during my first teeth cleaning & wisdom teeth consultation I was greeted unexpectedly with a bunch of smiles. My hygienist, Melissa, was very happy, friendly, relaxed, and professional. I really appreciated the experience!

I seriously could not have had a better experience. As someone who puts my dental care on the backburner occasionally and ended up with two terrible cavities as a result, I was VERY nervous about the pain factor. Dr. Parker delivers on his name Dr. Painless Parker! He has an excellent chair-side manner and he is thorough and completely pain free. He and his staff are warm and friendly, the office is comfortable, clean, and inviting as well. I will not hesitate to send friends, colleagues and family in his direction when they need a referral. Excellent experience and now I am not afraid to go to the dentist anymore, because mine is amazing!

I recently moved to the area from Washington, DC. I started some considerable dental work while I was there and continued after my move. My dentist in DC said I needed a root canal before she would put in some new crowns. I did my research and found Dr. Parker. After taking X-rays and an exam, Dr. Parker quickly assured me I did not need a root canal. I returned to DC to finish the dental work that had already been in process, and paid for, and shortly after my return to IL, one crown fell out and I noticed my bite was all off accompanied by some pain. I met with Dr. Parker and he quickly corrected all of my issues. I cant say enough about his experience and expertise coupled with a great staff.

My hygienist was superb -- really thorough and skilled. The desk staff was very efficient and polite, and Dr. Parker was great. Very clean, comfortable office.

Everything is fine when it comes to service, until you bring up an issue. Dr. Parker did not place my crown on properly. Once I brought this to the offices attention, things got ugly. Tried to call back and speak with someone twice, and the representative avoided my calls. It was not until I called from a different number that I got a response. Beware of this office!

I had never met such an honest dentist. He is friendly, professional and caring. Office is clean, peaceful with great ambience. Staff if friendly and accomodating. I wish I had known of this destist before; it wouldve saved me a lot of headache from my former dentists.

Stay away at all cost. They illegal handle the process of a debt and send it to collections with out any notification. I have a complaint filed with the BBB. Use a more reputable dental group they use to be good until they gotBought out and now their practices are shady.

I came here because another dentist wanted to to charge me 1300 out of pocket for 2 crowns on 2 cracked teeth and I did not want to pay that much!I arrived for my crowns apt. And the dentist told me he didnt really think I needed ANY crowns. And that he would hate to drill on my teeth if there wasnt a real problem. He expressed concern that he did not know why anyone would have put crowns on those teeth to begin with.He saved me 1300 dollars and didnt even charge me for the exam.I will not be going anywhere else!Also his staff was very on top of things and extremely helpful.
