I have purchased equipment and books here a few times, sent a teen in to pick out a birthday present and get a feel for an instrument or two... I was always happy to interact with the staff. Popped in to buy an instrument as a gift, on a whim, and was stymied. I am tired of mailing lists and such so have a strict no sharing unnecessary info rule and apparently I can not buy instruments without an account. Standing there cash in hand being told I couldnt make a purchase without sharing info for inventory reasons. Color me insulted. good thing google maps has plenty of options available to me! was thrilled to find my new music shop today!Edit. I am adding this cause your response is lame. As I mentioned, I have always been happy with your staff, it is the policy that is offensive. It creates barriers to arts for any but the affluent, a foster child may not be legally able to provide an address let alone know one (I have been a foster child and a foster parent). there are millions of transitory members of society who with policies like these can not access life improving tools (music and art are tools of expression and communication). The policy doesnt improve inventory control or provide anything essential, it makes it easier for you to help a few forgetful customers and cover your backsides if they are not satisfied. There are plenty of other places I shop that have similar policies and you know what they do, the let me know I can not return the product if there is a problem and then sell it too me.
Just got a harmonica and a book from these guys. The harmonica was awesome and very affordable. The book I got with it was the wrong one, but they were nice with the return so still giving a solid 5 star. The guy behind the register knew how to play the harmonica as well so he was super helpful. Thanks guys!
This place is worth the trip, where ever youre coming from.Clean, well organized stock, professional/friendly staff. High quality merchandise which is easy to view/examine.The store has been around for at least two generations (father to daughter). This place is involved with the local schools to help how they can. They also give music lessons. As Im told by a gentleman from the store, they will even play the instruments for the customers. If you just want a place to pop in when have time to explore, this a very good spot.
Great experience! Called them and discussed a few guitars I wanted to buy, settled on one, then ordered it seamlessly through their website. They shipped the guitar the same day, safely packed, exactly as described. Good stuff.
Wonderful experience! They really took their time with my kids and helped find the right size instruments. They were patient and encouraged my kids to be excited about learning to play.
Music World is a large store. Almost as of it was a world or something. Locally owned by a swell couple, support the local economy and go there to buy all your musical and stage needs. To not do so would wrong. And you, there in the back, who has always wanted to get a guitar and learn how to play. Good news! They have lessons. Its not too late. Get in there, buy that guitar, and get started.
I have had nothing but good experiences at this store. The staff has always been friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. It is my go-to place for instruments, parts and repair.
This store double charge my wifes debit card and has told me this has happened multiple times. If anybody has used a debit or credit card at this store it would be useful to check and see if they stole money out of your account. The worker at the store doesnt even know how to give money back that was stolen from my account which I will not let them use my card again they should just give my cash back. I really dont like to do reviews except when businesses are doing things corrupt like this store knowing this has been happening and not fixing the problem.
I went to music world few times already... they re-string my Taylor guitar cleaned and oiled fretboard and tuned and checked everything. For $15 I wouldnt do anything better for my first time. Also one time I took my guitar amp and they repaired a cable (welded) in the back for really cheap.. Ill be back!!!
Really friendly staff. I bring my saxophone, flute, and clarinet here for repair and maintenance because NOBODY does it better than KARL!!!I’d give 6 stars if I could.
Super helpful and friendly people :))
They do not honor contacts and will collect payment earlier then stated in the contract you sign with them. You can only return instruments Mon - Fri so if you are an essential employee who only has weekends off you are stuck paying the bill until they reopen. This is the third year that I had to work with them due to a child being in band and I am glad I do not have to work with them again. Any other music store is better then Music World
This is a hidden gem. They have wonderful guitars hung up and ready to buy. Especially Gretch but also everything else on the high end or the low. They have all the stings and accessories you could want except the drum selection was a bit scarce. They have violins and a nice staff that is somewhat knowlagable. What they dont know, they will find out for you. I really like this place. There is no pressure to buy like at a Musicians Friend store. You can play any guitar with the amps they have conveniently placed around the store. Thumbs up!
Love this place. The staff is all super friendly. Im a relatively new guitar player and theyre happy to offer advice and let me demo stuff.I took my guitar in for a setup and Dave Z went out of his way to dial it in just how I wanted it. He even stayed late and answered all of my newbie questions too! I would definitely recommend this place, especially for guitar maintenance and repairs.
Great staff.
This is a good shop, and one that I will continue to use for strings, picks, straps sort of stuff. There are friendly and patient staffers, and I always feel very well taken care of. Is it a guitar boutique? Nope, but it provides me everything I would need short of a trip across the river to the guitar megastore. Thanks, and will see you again soon.
Very nice and helpful workers helped me get every thing i needed
Brought in my acoustic bass guitar for set-up (had never been set-up properly and was not pleasant to play). The technician, Dave Zarzana did an outstanding job! He lowered the action by adjusting the neck, shaping and lowering the bridge for correct intonation, shaping and lowering the nut, and installing a new set of strings. The price was very reasonable and the result was astounding. The whole staff was great. Thanks!
Extremely friendly and helpful folks! Good selection of instruments and books. Good selection of strings and other accessories! Highly recommend it!!
Fabulous, nice friendly help, clean store, good atmosphere
I am a long time customer of Music World, and appreciate their knowledge and passion for all things music. They are locally owned, and go to great lengths to promote the arts in our community. As an educator, I appreciate their commitment to school-aged musicians. Thank you for being a reliable and friendly source for students, enthusiasts and professionals alike.
I dont go to any other music store. They have a great selection, friendly staff and their repair shop works miracles. The staff is very knowledgeable about any questions you have. I love this place.
I came in yesterday to get a set up on an older model Baby Taylor. The staff was helpful and friendly. They worked together to get the paperwork done efficiently (sadly, my guitar needs to go to the other store), and then one of the staff stood with me as I oogled over every Breedlove ukulele in the store as well as a few others. If they werent tuned, he tuned them for me. Even though I didnt purchase one, I plan to as soon as I can (I love Breedlove). My guitar is still at the Dr. But I look forward to playing her soon. Thanks for being great Music World!
They always have just the accessory I need, despite carrying a broad array of instruments. Once I was looking for a strap for my baritone uke- found a Kala brand strap! The last time I went, I got a pack of flat-wound bass strings in short-scale, which Guitar Center did not carry though they ostensibly specialize in guitars. Music World staff are knowledgeable and friendly; I have never been ignored here like they do at Guitar Center.
Thank you guys for all your help with restringing our guitar. Your honesty and professionalism was much appreciated and we look forward to working with you in the future. Great shop and amazing staff!
Dave Zarzana is a god walking among men. He is magic when it comes to setting up a guitar. The whole shop is top notch. You wont find better.
I bought a 2020 Breedlove Premier Concertina from Music World in Vancouver, WA. What a great experience! I live 2 hrs away, but was going to be driving through on a road trip. I emailed Matt to ask if he had the particular model I was interested in - even though the 2020 models had just come out. Turned out he was going to be at NAMM in SoCal the next day. He searched out that Breedlove model and sent me pictures of it, then special-ordered and shipped one to his store - even though I hadnt committed to buying one. He went out of his way to get it to the store just in time for me to see it - and had other models there for me to compare to. Very knowledgeable and fun to talk with. Definitely recommend Music World!
Good place to go for gear. The guys are friendly and down to earth. Lots of selections. Fairly priced and generous with deals. Highly recomended. Already planning my next purchase.
Brought in a very old flute for an overhaul. It turns out that the cost was prohibitive, and I was informed within just a few days what it would be. I picked up the flute and was not charged for the estimate. I rented a flute and it was an easy transaction, with polite and friendly service.
Absolutely amazing service! Dave is the man! Brought him a tele that was a wiring mess and now it’s good as new! I will bringing all my future guitar projects here from now on! Thanks!
I have been here a long time ago to get my trombone music books and cleaning kits. But i wanted to say that my spit valve moved out of place and it leaks. Will you repair it, or do you have new spit valves?
I stopped by the store a month ago looking for rosin for my violin. Although they had just sold out, the man at the desk looked around for a minute and found a partially used container. When I asked how much he would charge, he just gave it to me for free.Your business obviously cares about making sure your customers have what they need to make music. I know Ill be coming back. Thanks.
Out of all the guitar centers and mom and pop music shops Ive been to, this music world location was probably one of the worst experiences Ive had at a music store. I go up to the counter and say Im there for a acoustic rental, he then asks suspiciously if Im 18 like Im trying to pull something by paying money to rent a guitar from them. Still suspiciously he takes my ID and credit card as he then hands me the rental form and I start to fill it out, and before Im half way through I see him zipping up a guitar and I ask, is that it? He replies yeah.... I tell him I was there looking for a nylon and like a drunk surfer dude he goes oh I thought you just wanted a guitar. I then grab my things and say sorry for wasting your time and he doesnt even reply. This experience wasnt the worst thing that could happen to a human being or anything, it was how little the employee seemed to care about helping me. ill assume just because I was a kid in his eyes. Good selection, awful service. Cant say for everyone working there though.
Great price, great customer service, and quick.side note- I appreciate the speed and the great fix karl, if I ever need work done on my tuba, youre my guy
I had my Lespaul set up and new machine heads installed...Dave is obviously an expert...it works perfectly... thanks Dave...
Good shop. If the staff cant answer your questions they are pretty good at knowing who can.
Didn’t think it would be possible to fix my acoustic guitar but they did! I definitely recommend this place for repairs.
Dave breathed new life into my guitar that had been sitting in an attic for over 2 years. Looks and plays like new, absolutely excellent work.
Excellent staff and fair prices.Have had work done on several of my guitars and the quality of the workmanship and good customer service Music World provides always exceeds my expectations.
Walked in and was completely ignored. No welcome, no help looking for anything. I even went up to the counter and still no assistance offered. Taking my business elsewhere due to the lack of customer service.Update: In response to the owner, I was not spoken to. I am not over exaggerating when I say that I was ignored from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out.
Doesnt have all the stuff I need but still a great place to buy things I need for my instrument 👍👏🙌
I like we still have a west side music shop that is not a pawn shop.
Fantastic wind/string instrument repair work at a great price
Thanks Dave Z. for setting up my Epiphone Rivoli Bass. It looks brand new (it is 90s model) and the action is nice and low. You continue to amaze me with your guitar repair and set-up skills. Your attention to detail is great. Glad I have found you and will keep coming back.T. C.Bass PlayerBattle Ground, Wa.
Amazing setup on my Les Paul. Plays better than ever, fast turn around, exceeded my expectations. Thanks Dave and Music World staff.
Cool place, great selection of fear and great customer service
