I am about to start my second note with Safeguard. The first note went well, though there were some delays with some of the monthly payments. It got paid off early. I really like working with Corey and I find him to be very responsive. When the lenders were late with the first note, they pursued it on my behalf and I ended up getting paid the interest and all penalties. So although it was a bumpy ride at first, it is great to know that they have my back!
Lender Beware! Do your due diligence!We have four notes originated though Safeguard. We made these investments based on information provided, including supposed completed renovations of the properties and appraised values. Unfortunately one of these notes was on a property in Mississippi that was never actually rehabbed at all. We have now written off this note as the property was essentially worthless.The remaining three notes are still active but payments have been irregular. Not sure if this is partly due to the COVID19 pandemic or not, but were looking at having to foreclose on these properties as well. This has not turned out to be the value we hoped for from real-estate investing without the hassles of being a landlord. Instead you get the hassles of being a lender.
