I have been using this shop since 2009, I am always amazed at how they know what muffler makes the best sound for your vehicle. We have used them for exhaust and brakes, high quality parts and worthwhile craftsmanship. Just a great all around shop.

Had 3rd cat stolen. Called to see about it being replaced with a piece of pipe and they tried to upcharge with a universal one. 3rd cat does nothing, has no sensors, and does not fail deq without it. I remember when shops charged you for the work that you asked them to do and didnt refuse and try to upcharge you with garbage

We were unfortunately one of the people who unfortunately had the catalytic converter cut off a 2007 Toyota Prius. I had called around a few different shops and this one went above and beyond to help us out. I spoke with Tim. He immediately said they can do it. Asked all the right questions that I didn’t even think of, and spoke with his technician to make sure they knew what was going on. Not only did they give us a very fair price to get it fixed.The got us in the SAME day and had it done before they closed. I called on Friday morning and picked up the car Friday afternoon like it was brand new. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Thank you very much for getting us taken care of.

I’ve been here twice.Once for an exhaust repair. They tried talking me out of the full repair and opting for a temporary fix instead, because the car wasn’t worth the cost to fix it... it was my only car so I did it anyway.A month or so later, my car broke down and I brought it in for a diagnostic. I was told it was a bad car... He gave me a breakdown of needed repairs and approximate costs, and simply advised again that the car would not be worth the money. I took his advice this time and ended up getting a new car.I wish I took his advice the first time, and I’m so thankful for an honest repairman. There are so few. I will trust them for all my future repairs, although i’m hoping not to have any for awhile.

I had my muffler Cadillac converter fixed. They were awesome and very reasonably priced. This was a few years back and now I have a friend that needs her car looked at and would highly recommend these guys. Just wondering if they do more then just mufflers and brakes

After paying off my car (2005 Subaru Outback), my engine light almost immediately went on for the first time in 5 years - I took it in to these guys, they did a free engine check and broke the news that I would need a new catalytic converter. They gave me an estimate of $1200 (which included labor) and I ultimately scheduled with them. One of the guys was kind enough to drive me back home while I waited. They gave me a 2 hour estimate and were done in those 2 hours. Friendly service.

Fixed the mess the guy in PDX did, so happy gave me a quote and stuck to it I feel like I got more than a good deal so happy my new go to shop

Walked in for a muffler delete to replace a busted muffler from a recent accident. They told me it would be around three hours. I mentioned I didn’t have a ride back to my house and would just be killing time in the area while I waited. They ended up putting my car in next and got me in and out in around an hour. VERY happy with the quality of their work as well as the friendliness of their staff. 11/10 would recommend to anyone. Prices are reasonable and considering the quality of their staff and work it’s more than fair. Thank you again to the staff for the work you did for me.

Ive had work done by these guys over the years and they always do a quality job for a fair price. I was working on my 34 Motor home and bumped the exhaust for my generator exhaust and broke the tack welds loose. I called Hazel Dell Muffler up and they said sure bring it over. Pulled up near the shop and they welded it back on and tacked my new tips too. I went to pay them and they said No Charge ! Thanks for your friendly service ! Well be back again for sure !

Took my truck in to get a Magnaflow muffler installed. The stock muffler had dual 3 inlet and dual outlet pipes. They converted it to dual inlet, single outlet, and it sounds great!!! Was told it would take an hour, but these guys knocked it out in 32 minutes flat. Would recommend Hazeldell Muffler to anyone. Very happy!!!

These guys were awesome, Saturday my muffler split in half and they were one of the only few places open. I asked them if it was drivable that i would be willing to bring to them if i could drive it. They told me if its not dragging on the ground that it should be okay. So i drove it to them they had it fixed in about 15 minutes for an awesome price. I needed my exhaust pipes put back together because I cut them. I installed a different transmission and crossmember and the exhaust was in the way, so I cut a one foot section out of each pipe. I figured they could just weld in two new pieces with a bend in each. But they recommended new pipes from manifold to muffler. This cost a little more than expected, but I realized they were right to not just weld in a patch. The end result was a very professional looking set of pipes, better than what I had before. My 56 Chevy truck sounds great again. Thanks for the great service!

We went in an hour before they were going to close and they worked us in anyway. They were able to repair my cars exhaust leak in 30 minutes and I havent had a problem since! The price to fix was well within budget of about $60, and the service was awesome! We were treated well and I would definitely go there again if needed!! Thank you again Muffler and Break!!!

Had the shop do a alternator job on my ford escape. about 6-7 months later the alternator went south for the winter called the shop up and they said bring it in now. about 4 hours later a new alternator was in my escape..... thanks to the crew for bustin it out for me!!!

They lied to me saying my muffler was completely rusted out and tried to upsell me on a brand new. I know this because I got it checked by another shop and they showed me its not rusted and they head welded or back up

They have done 4 of our cars tell them to make it sound good and have do what they think will look the best. Each car has its own deep sound and never have had to go back to have anything fixed. All of their exhaust wor is old school!

According to the emissions people I needed to get my catalytic converter replaced. Choose Hazeldell Muffler and Brake because of their location, friendly atmosphere and not being a chain repair shop. Even though they encountered some additional problems they did such a good job that even the emissions guy was impressed. Excellent work from great folks.

They quoted me $770 for brake replacement, got another quote for $450 and the other place did a great job.

Had them do a full exhaust on my truck. Its a no frills shop (no fancy waiting area, espressos, etc), fair prices, and they had me in and out quickly. Had them add on an exhaust tip today and they charged me a reasonable rate based on it only taking about 15 minutes to install whereas other shops would charge you for a full hour. Ill definitely go back to these guys.

I used this shop to install a new cat back exhaust system a few months ago and install new brake pads last month on my car. Tim was very friendly, provided accurate estimates, and shop completed the work by promised time in both instances. Very happy customer!

Con artists! Tried to sell me work I didnt need.I replaced my cat converter, which needed a weld on the upstream end to the flex pipe. The flex pipe slides into the pipe off of the cat converter. The pipe had slid out and merely needed to be slid back in, and they said they could not weld it because the gap was too big. It just needed to be slid back in! There is no gap! Instead they tried to sell me a new flex pipe for $170 because they said it was busted (it had some scuffs but zero holes).If I didnt know about exhaust systems I wouldve fallen for their scam too. Shame on them for deceiving people to generate work.I found another shop to weld it for $30. Problem solved!To add to it, the guy at the front desk that I dealt with seem to generally hate his job and acted like customers are inconvenience to him. No hi, hello, what can I do for you, or goodbye from this guy. Simply short abrupt snarky answers. Sorry to bother you with my business!

They got us a quick quote and had the car fixed about an hour later. They were friendly and professional. They were about 200 bucks cheaper than our regular mechanic shop. Would definitely use these guys again.

I went there with an air conditioning issue. It was in the worst possible place to have an issue, as to get to it they had to remove the entire dash and center console. After Tim prepared me for the sticker shock, I found the price to be half to two-thirds what I would have expected for the necessary work.

Friendly and fast service. My car went in the shop at my appointment time instead of sitting in the parking lot. I received a call within 30 minutes giving me an estimate on repair cost. Turned out my problem was an easy fix but I am extremely pleased to have quiet exhaust again!

This place is a joke! ive come here multiple times to get a quote for my trucks just too get turned away guess they dont like money here and plus there staff is rude! Dont say youll do it over the phone if you dont want too do it at all

I looked through all the muffler shops in the Vancouver area and decided this was the best option. I brought my truck in to have them delete the muffler. They fit me in real fast no problem. What I am displeased with is the quality of work. All I needed was a simple muffler delete. So they just cut my muffler off and welded in a 4” straight pipe. Yes this is one way to do it but I had clamps on both sides of the mufflers and they didn’t even take them off. Underneath my truck right now is one clamp that should have came off,( just still bolted up with no purpose, because it has been welded to the pipe that connected the muffler.) I think the correct way givin I had the good clamps is to have been fitted to the correct side and reused. The other clamp is still on my muffler! The welds are decent, kind of looked like they just rushed through it with a wirefed setup. If they would have told me that’s what they were gojng to do or discuss it I would have told them I did not want it looking like a hack job and to fit the pipe the correct length and used the clamps. Nice guys don’t get me wrong and super good at squeezing you in for a easy fix or something minor like this.

Called yesterday for a quote on brakes. Was told it would be $250. Went to my appt today and they told me it would be $650+ the reason was because they had not seen the vehicle before giving me the first quote. However I gave them make and model to get my original quote. I suggest getting auto work done anywhere but here.

Quite rude on the phone, did not offer to schedule an appointment or anything, so I show up. The guy said they can do the job and asked when i want to come in. I then asked if I could just wait while they do it. And he quickly responded Well nobody told you to come in at 5:30! So then I just left, their overall demeanor was quite rude.

Got exhaust pipes repaired from a previous install from a different shop. Hazeldel Muffler did an excellent job of fixing someone elses bad install. Today went in because two years later a single bracket came loose and they popped it back on, with lots of controlled force and precision, at no cost. I was back to normal within 10 minutes of arriving. Definitely a stand out place. Great folks to work with too!

Price quote over the phone is never the same, once the work is actually being done... Theyre fast, Ill give them that... But the quality of work is absolutely horrible... Just had my exhaust looked at punks muffler today to quote a full exhaust replacement, and once it was on the lift, the whole shop had a very good laugh and actually took pictures and told me that anyone with any brain could do a better job... And the crack they welded wasnt even sealed... Long story short. They couldnt even get a $200 couple inch weld correct (which punks said would have only been less an hours labor charge/less then $100).

Asked to have a slip together system welded said no problem after drop off call 15 min later cant do it exhaust is to close to body to weld all the way around. That floored me dont think you can do that on any car with out lowering exhuast down first then back up was willing to pay but they said they cant do it

Dropped my Camaro off for a new Magnaflow exhaust they were done quickly and the quality of work is awesome love the new pipes. Also had the catalytic converter done on my Tahoe great quality and fast.

My Wifes car was clearly having break issues and we were not ready to pay for any services on the vehicle. But, we took it in because it had to be fixed. Im always concerned about places trying to charge you more money to repair a car than needed... Not Hazel Dell Muffler!They gave us great service and went out of their way to fix my Wifes Saturn. They informed us the part and service would be $40 and that they couldnt find the part in Vancouver, so they would drive to Portland to get the part needed to fix the vehicle. I will definitely go back to them for future repairs, when needed!

Very poor ! Said that they could give me a waiver for 150.00 then the something was wrong so I needed to invest 208.00 more just to make it work, I declined, went to cost less the part was 19.50 and 15 minutes start to finish, and I am not any kind of Mechanic. I asked him where the faltering part was he said he could not tell me,only that it was in the engine compartment, save your money go anywhere else .

I had them put on a catalytic converter on my honda accord they have a very nice staff and were able to get me in the day i called and i had my car back within the hour and while they are a little on the expensive side they are well worth it they did an excellent job i will go back to them for my exhaust and brake needs very satisfied customer!!!

I called to make an appointment to have my own muffler installed to replace the stock muffler. Made arrangements to drop off the vehicle and had someone pick me up so I could leave my vehicle at their shop. Dropped off the vehicle and then received a call from them about an hour later from Jeff. He told me that my muffler was not the correct configuration for the factory piping. He then went on to try and sell me one of their Magnaflow mufflers that would supposedly work. Now Ive done exhaust work in the past and its not that difficult to install this muffler. I would have done this myself but my MIG welder was currently at a friends house. Basically I gave Jeff some other options to install the muffler and he was having no part of it and insisted it would not work. After hanging up with him I was left dumbfounded. I called back about a half hour later and spoke with Len, or Lyn? He told me it was too compact in the area where the muffler sat so moving the muffler and making some short pieces of new exhaust pipe wouldnt work and then went on to tell me that because I brought him my own muffler I purchased elsewhere, that I was taking away his business. WTF? So if you dont like the sound of a Magnaflow muffler I guess you need to go somewhere else because they will not install anything else for you unless you buy it from them so they can get their price markup/gouging.After all this I went to Punks Muffler off Minnehaha. I told him my experience and he laughed at their excuse as to why they could not install the muffler. After putting the vehicle on their rack (without even needing an appointment) I saw again how much room there was under the vehicle. Hazeldell muffler didnt want to install the muffler so they essentially lied to me because I didnt want to buy their Magnaflow muffler.The funny part about all this, is that it would have been more difficult for them to install their Magnaflow muffler than it was install the one I purchased.Long story short, avoid Hazeldell muffler. They are not willing to work with a customers needs and are only looking to line their own pockets. Whatever happened to good customer service? Dont worry, its alive and well at Punks Muffler shop!! I was very happy with the work done at Punks and will be writing another review for them giving praises.
