We just moved into our apartment 3 weeks ago. We have had to unplug the modem DAILY. It hasn’t been working straight for 2 days now. At this point, we keep it unplugged. I tried to call and the robot couldn’t even understand me. Of course nobody answered the phone. It’s unfortunate we have to SETTLE for mediacom. You all need to do better.
I went to pay my moms cable bill today. I didnt look to see what the ladys name was, but she was so sweet. I was able to hold a conversation with her and she even gave me some words of encouragement. Mediacom is blessed to have her as an employee.

Internet and cable service went out and the first available appointment was 5 days out. I understand that other people already have appointments. However, 5 days is a pretty long time to wait to have service restored. Especially when you rely on your internet to perform your job.
Chuck came and connected my internet. He was extremely nice and very knowledgeable of his job. Am very pleased of his visit... Had an issue with my internet and had a tech come out. He said it was due to lightening from some bad weather and replaced an outside wire and was finished. Super nice tech and he did a great job. Thank you!
Customer service is pretty subpar. The office here in Valdosta does not have a phone apparently, so you have to speak to someone from overseas to get anything done. We tried that had the person hang up on us. Now we have to wait 5 or 6 days to have a technician come out. We did receive a refund for the time that we were without internet, though they do not offer this upfront; you have to ask.There is a wire that is connecting a neighbors box to ours and is running across out lawn, killing our grass and in the way of lawn maintenance. It has been there a week at this point. Heres to hoping they come bury it, sooner rather than later, like theyve said they would.
I am unbelievably dissatisfied with this company. Automated phone service is useless, you do not get what you pay for, and I pay a lot!! The speed of my service is a joke, go elsewhere and avoid this company at all costs.

Atrocious customer service. Tech came to my house for 10 min, did nothing but recommend that I buy a new modem, then leave. My modem was fine, so I trouble shot it myself ans now its fine. 6 weeks later, I have a bill for a $49 service charge. Ive spent the last half hour arguing with customer service and thats going nowhere. Awful company with God awful customer service.
Had to get a replacement remote control was in and out of there in a Flash. Customer service begin out in the parking lot when a lady on break directed me to the proper entrance. Had no problems at all.
If I could give zero stars I would. My internet has been down for over a week now, I had an appointment today (6/19/21) from 10-12. They texted my husband to confirm and he did. Well now he is currently deployed out of the country. I called at 12 saying they hadn’t come yet and they said it was canceled because they tried one of the numbers( his) and he didn’t answer so they had to cancel it. I explained that he is out of the country and in a different time zone so you called in the middle of the night and he can’t get some calls. She said there isn’t anything they can do and the soonest possible to get someone here is now the 6/25/21... in another week. But I’m still paying for this whole month even though for almost the entire month of June I haven’t had internet.Why send a confirmation text if it doesn’t confirm the appointment ????

Ive been with this company since 2015. Its a hasnt been a pleasant experience. If there was another internet provider in my area, Id change in a heartbeat!! It drops all the time. We can go hours without any internet. If I contact the company, Id told a service tech would have to come out. Last time I had a 5-7 window for him to show up.. and he marked he had, yet hadnt!! Mediacom Sucks!!!!
I have been with them for 5 months as a customer and 18 years as well just under my parents. And they have always been horrible. In and out constantly and I have called twice before and have enabled AUTO PAY multiple times and every time it doesn’t auto pay and I pay a late fee? Like every month at all cost go to someone else

They can never get you scheduled for a service appointment and when they finally do a week later they call you and tell you they are short staffed and can’t come out. I can not wait for literally any other company to be available for internet in the area.
For the last 2 weeks nothing but shabby service. Have called it in EVERY SINGLE DAY but nothing changes. All they say is We are expierenceing difficulties in the area. Never had an issue with customer service. The service itself though is atrocious. My husband is overseas and the times weve had time to talk on multiple occasions the internet cuts out or is slow. I know forsure that the issue is on my end because it also happens very often when Im face timing family in the states. Plus my internet says (no internet). Ive been extremely frustrated because aside from the challenges my husband and I already face with our differing schedules (were both military) the overpriced internet service that I pay for is a waste of my money, my time, and prevents me from communicating with my family when I want and need to. Mediacom is the worst internet service I have paid for. Im very happy I wont have to deal with this service anymore but I def. feel bad for everyone else who feeds this company more of their hard earned money just to get below subpar internet service.

Literally the worst internet you could get, if I could rate them lower I would. You will literally have five to ten outages a day. You are better off using your hotspot because using this internet is god awful. I pay 120 a month for probably the worst internet in GA. Canceling immediately, don’t waste your time

Worst internet i have ever had. Overpriced as well. AT&T has way lower prices and better internet. Paid $70 for the fastest internet with AT&T and now pay nearly $100 for service that doesnt even work/ isnt even worth it with MediaCom... if you can take this as a warning and DO NOT GET MEDIACOM if you dont have to. The amount of times I have had to have a service technician to my residence for “cutting in and out” or “service problems” has officially been 4 times in 5 months that I have been here. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. This provider is lacking good work ethic, service technicians are NOT knowledgeable when they arrive, and when they do arrive they proceed to sit in their vehicle and scroll on Facebook. I do really hope a legitimate person in this company reads these reviews because they COULD be a great business... sadly they are inefficient and unknowledgeable.
The internet stability is so bad we cant even access their website or email them, and calling them is almost totally pointless because they always take forever to get back to you. Were paying for their best version of the internet and it still has an average download speed of 3 mbps and an upload speed of .09 mbps.

This is the worse internet provider, customer service, and overall the worse business Ive ever dealt with. These consecutive bad reviews one after another after another are NOT a coincidence. Every time I call Im told something different . I just got off the phone with a manager and when I told her about their bad reviews she shrugged it off because they are the only internet in town. Their internet is so bad that in this day in age where internet is so important I am planning on moving. Worse internet ever its like they are powered by a hamster wheel ! MEDIA COMM SUCKS!.
My mother switch to your home phone service from AT &T she is 91 years old, her home phone is constantly going out a technical has been out on at least 4 occasions, I need the owner to contact ASAP for situation.

I have had a technician come out twice in the last 2 weeks. Our internet is going out EVERY single night at 12 like clockwork. The technician connects to the router and says it’s working great and leaves. Clearly it is not. This is getting ridiculous we pay over 80$ a month for internet we simply can not use after 12pm. Awful.I am editing this review to state that nothing has changed. While it does not go out every night at midnight it is slower than ever before. I can not play a single online video game without severe lag. Seeing as we are now paying 130 a month for the highest internet we could get this is completely unacceptable for a company that says they care about their customers. And every single time it rains it goes out.We can not watch streaming services during that time.
I simply can’t take it anymore. This company charges me 100 dollars a month or more for their “fastest” internet, and it works great! The issue is, EVERY WEEK the internet goes out. Most times, I schedule a technician to come (usually at least a week wait) but the internet comes back before the appt. It’s not my cabling, modem, or anything else. It’s simply a terrible service I should have never paid for or signed up for. This company should be embarrassed of the quality of service they provide and I would recommend trying ANY COMPANY over Mediacom.
Would have said 0 stars or negative stars but it wont let you. My first complaint is like most others. Service just doesnt work most of the time!! Second major complaint is this is the ONLY PROVIDER WHO DOESNT OFFER UNLIMITED SERVICE!!!! Who ever heard of charging for every bit you use? Had for about 6 months and with bills running in the 3 to 4 hundred dollar range had to terminate my connection!! Too bad we cannot get good service, from a reputable company that has unlimited service that works for more than an hour or two a day!!!!
Likes to raise prices at will without any warning. Internet has gone out twice in the last month, has taken close to a week to send out a technician both times. Would terminate if I had another option.
Service is not great at all but the price would make you think it is. Exspensive and cable and internet go out constantly!! They have monopolized this area, wish there was another provider, at least we would have another choice. Not great at all, go to streaming, then youd only have to pay $100.00 for the internet and not almost $200.00 for cable & internet. They have the same shows on 2 to 3 channels and call it a package. Go figure!!

If I could give them a 0 star I would.After having over a dozen technicians come out here and try to fix our problem of the internet randomly disconnecting for the last 6 months and lagging when it shouldnt be while STILL NOT FIXING THE ISSUE OR KEEPING IN TOUCH LIKE PROMISED EVERY SINGLE TIME, I just wanted to comment that you guys need to get your fecal matter together. Absolute worst internet service I’ve ever encountered. WiFi disconnects CONSTANTLY every single day since we got it and now has been down for at least 4 hours today. And when it does connect, only one person can use it at a time. This is ridiculous. Paying $100 a month for internet that isn’t even usable.

My family hates me because our signal is constantly dropping. My wife works from home and it is detremintal to her business in this day and age of video conferencing. I am a professor and I sometimes have to conference or lecture from home; it is embarrassing when I get dropped (since I am in charge). I have done everything I can: I bought my own equipment and, when that failed, I then upgraded to Xstream, with their own new router/modem; they also re-ran a new line from the box. The techs come out and see that the connection (when it happens to be on) is strong and declare it good. However, the problem is that the signal drops in and out ALL DAY and NIGHT. Because I am not the only one having this problem, I am perplexed as to why they do nothing to fix it. They must know it is occurring! I would vote with my wallet, but they have a monopoly in our neighborhood. My guess is that they need to invest in new infrastructure. How about Mediacom, at least, acknowledges the problem? Maybe cut us a discount or maybe just apologize and tell us the truth as to whether they are going to fix the problem. Otherwise the feds should force them out for ripping off consumers.

Pros-None to my knowledge.Cons-If youve been a Mediacom customer since 1997, you can hang up any specific offers to keep your service.They try to charge you $60 a month for 100 MBS that only comes in at 30 MBS.Theyll claim its your equipment (it isnt. I know a lot about computers)Theyll send you a used modem thats worthless so you have to buy your own.Their customer service is rude and not helpful.Service goes up and down.Just call AT&T, they want your business with a 1GB line for $50 a month plus promotion offers.Saying goodbye to Mediacom forever. 👋

Our cable went out last Wednesday. We called and they set up an appointment for us on Monday. So 5 days without service. They sent us a confirmation email which we accepted. My wife stayed home from work to meet them. They didnt show up because they called my number but I didnt take the call because i was in a meeting. Pathetic .
This company flat out lies about their internet speeds. Obviously you arent going to get a precise connection at all times, but this is beyond that. Paying for their Gigabit speed, and receiving 66.1 mbps download, 34.6 mbps upload over an ethernet connection, with us living in town, not a rural or wooded area. After charging for 3 services calls they still havent fixed the issue. They falsely advertise their speeds, dont stand by their products, and have horrible customer service, leaving you on silent holds and hanging up while youre trying to troubleshoot. They exploit you because theres a lack of competition for similar speeds in the area, meanwhile the speeds they actually provide are barely better than satellite.
Waited 2 hours for a lazy ... its to hot in your attic to work tech to call and say Im not coming to your house to service your ongoing problem because its hot... What a joke.. Get some real workers mediacom.. Ps customer service could use a bit of an upgrade as well.. Just get some techs from another company to do the upgrade.. Or wait until the wheather is perfect. O and its 67 degrees in my house and 80 with rain outside. pitiful!!!

It’s google review rating says it all. Honestly, two stars is too many. By far the worst ISP I have ever had. If you literally have any other option, choose the other option. With the constant dropped signals, lag/inaccurate speeds, data limits, and inferior customer service it’s product, is nothing less than straight garbage.
This is the most unreliable internet Ive ever had. It constantly goes in and out during peak business hours and I can never get any work done. Would not recommend if you own a business.
USE HUGHES NET its PRETTY RELIABLE UNLESS IT RAINS IT GOES OUT WITH RAIN AND ITS ONLY 25 mbs but sounds like more reliable than mediacom

The internet never works when Im home from work and want to relax. The only thing this internet provides is extreme stress, but there are no other provider options in the area so Im kinda out of luck I guess.
If you can get a different internet provider, do it. Paying this bill every month is like throwing money down the toilet. The internet goes out ALL THE TIME. I have classes to log into online now, ya know, because we’re in the middle of a pandemic and all. Thankfully my professors have been understanding when I tell them I have Mediacom because with the amount of classes I’ve been FORCED TO MISS because of the internet not working, I should have been dropped from my classes. I visited this store with my room mate Ken. I needed to have my account transferred into his name and do to my following proper procedure as per Rex at billing DEPT. He an I were able to get out quickly as our account was paid in full before going in with ids.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This internet turns on and off many times each day. When I call Mediacom they tell me no problems in my area! Look at the reviews! Lots of people with the same problem! Call a tech on Monday, call a tech again on Tuesday and told Sunday before they can get someone here to look at it....not my idea of customer service...by the way all of this for $109 per month!

If you have the choice DO NOT CHOOSE MEDIACOM. I live in Northwind’s apartment in valdosta and it is the only WiFi provider that covers my area so I don’t have a choice. But if I did I would choose anyone over them. There WiFi is terrible!!! I pay for 200 mbps and I get around 40 mbps on a good day. The only time I can do anything on the internet is when my roommate is gone and there is only one device on the WiFi. I have called 2 separate times for them to come out and fix the issue and have done nothing both times they have came out, and on the second time wanted me to pay for their visit. I have even said if they can’t fix the WiFi speed the at least give me compensation on my bill sense I’m not getting a quarter of the speed I pay and they won’t even do that. I have lived many different places and this is by far THE WORST WiFi and WiFi company I’ve had to deal with. (If I could rate 0 stars I would)
Worst costumer service. Doesnt care if u can use there service or not but u better pay for it. Ordered 4 cable boxes only hooked up 3 and wanna charge u another fee to hook up the 4th box. If there was another option I would drop them.
Absolute worst customer service you could imagine. They really need to work on their customer satisfaction. I ordered cable around March 20 and they told me it wouldn’t be here until April 28th because of the whole Covid thing. I received a call around April 20 telling me I can move my appointment up. I call and talk to a lady at Mediacom and she tells me she can move it up to the 22nd. Instead of putting it to the 22nd of April it was moved back to the 22nd of May by mistake. Keep in mind I’ve already waited over a month. I called up thinking it would be an easy issue to resolve and at worst I just will get put back to my original date. They told me that nothing was opened for April anymore even after I explained my situation. They tell me someone will call me back that day letting me know when they can come out it’s been 3 days without a call I highly recommend going with someone else
Ive had Mediacom for almost a year now and havent had any major problems -- until now. I want to buy my own modem, but its been a nightmare trying to find compatible equipment! Ive spent hours searching online and on the phone with two different reps. The first rep flat out said they dont guarantee ANY 3rd party equipment and that I HAVE to buy one directly from them. The second rep basically said the first rep lied. I told her I needed a modem/router with WiFi and phone (since I still have a landline for now). She gave me a list and assured they would ALL work. After researching them, NONE of them are what I need. Seriously, why cant I just get some honest answers?! Youre getting almost $100/month now. Youre not gonna miss another $200 that I might spend at Best Buy!EDITED TO RESPOND TO “OWNER” COMMENT BELOW SINCE I CAN’T REPLY DIRECTLY:The list you posted has the same modems that the rep gave me, NONE of which have voice. Mediacom is the worst cable and internet provider. The services are out all the time, Valdosta needs another provider.
Heard awful things about the internet providers in the Valdosta area but thankfully we had no issues. From the gentleman that connected our services to the call center personnel I spoke with, everyone was very kind. No serious outages occurred during the time we had their services and we felt prices were fair.
Can’t get the internet to stay on for more than 15-20 minutes after 10pm. This is not okay, since my husband and I both work evening shifts and don’t get home until 11-12 at night. Internet is great when it actually works, but we can’t ever get it to actually work. The Mediacom App Troubleshooting is a joke. It “fixes” the problem for maybe 10 minutes and then it craps out again. I’m fed up.
I wish I could leave Zero stars. They should charge an hourly rate because the connection never works for more than that at any one time. I’ve been deployed to places in the Middle East with Internet twice as fast as Mediacom. Big Sad, would not recommend

Worst company ever. My fiance called to find out how much we needed to pay to restart service after missing a payment. Been a customer for three years, only had service cut off once before because of ten dollars that was over looked. Made every other payment on time. She was told because of the ten dollar payment miss and now this one, we would have to pay an over two hundred dollar reconnect fee for service. My fiance, understandably, got frustrated and stated how in the world does Mediacom keep their customers? The customer service rep stated that they keep the ones who pay...worst customer service ever. Technicians generally lie to customers when they come out for any problems with service, especially if it actually involves work. The score of a 1.9 review rating at the time of this review isnt deserved. Personally I would give them a negative rating if allowed. Your better off with dish, direct TV, or two times cans...
Would possibly take there internet but they wont service rural areas even though i was told i can get their internet at my home, I dont think they want to run a new line for 1 mile of road even though i would probably pay for the most expensive package they offer
As said by almost everyone it is by far the worst cable company! I understand if there a few issues some of the time, but the Internet is always going in and out. Mediacom is the only real option and it has been the same issue for the last 6 years we have tried different modems made by different companies and the common factor is Mediacom. They have stated several times that it is because they are working in the area to fix the problem but 6 years and still no reliable internet??

Great Service, if internet dont work you just call technician and they fix it. Since my location is at Georgia theres a lot of either squirrel chew on the internet wire outside or water damage to wire you gotta call to fix it as they wont know unless you give them feedback. Internet should be consistent.

Techs have been out here twice, just leaving thinking it is one issue or another. But, as I am typing this I have NO service at all-V52! Let another customer service person ask me about troubleshooting! Day two no internet or tv. Terrible when your stuck home. Repairman supposed to come between 3&5. 5:22 no show. I guess they didn’t specify what year.
Keep your receipt! In the Valdosta location they gladly take your money put it on somebody elses account. as a customer my responsibility is to pay my bill in full on time I did all that. Then was told by their customer service to prove I paid . So I have to jump through all these hoops even though I paid on time and in full no customer service.

Get it together, Mediacom! Sick of the internet service interruptions multiple times a day and the drastically fluctuating speeds. Its painfully obvious that youre throttling your customers. You throttle us regularly and we dont even use half the data our plan allows every month. What is this - North Korea? FIX IT and stop scamming your customers.Heres something really quite amusing: Back when I had a good ISP in a good state and decent city, I didnt support Net Neutrality. I was skeptical about purchasing internet from this company because of all the bad reviews, but my experience has been great! I bought the cheapest internet package and my speeds are great with all my devices connected to it. The technician who installed my modem was very friendly and professional. I would recommend this company!
Ive had this service since last September and truly I CANNOT recommend this service to no one .A. They dont want good customers. B. They wouldnt keep them. Their packages ARE NOT FAMILY PACKAGES. THEIR BEST family package could be around $ 350.00. Friend thats alot ! Their internet is beyond the worse. Having trained technicians and being more than just an installer would be nice. Customer Service Reps with 2 ears for listening and not bully their conversation would be nice. All I say is think twice
