Had a reservation made on Thursday for Monday morning at 8. Dropped my car off for repairs and came to the location to pick my rental up and they have no cars. Offered me no help other than they will let me know when one shows up. Said it’s “not his problem” “he wasn’t here when it happened” and “he can’t make a car magically appear”Absolutely pathetic customer service and lack of car.

I have been renting with Hertz for yrs and never had a bad experience until I came to Vacaville hertz. This woman supposed to be a trainee manager, so unhappy & attitude. Leave your attitude outside the door!I’m updating this review to five stars because Ibrahim has changed my experience here! He makes this place keep going. Best customer service, and he is very knowledgeable of his work, smart & intelligent. He should be the manager if anything else.
Made reservation online and went to pick up the vehicle, upon arrival was informed there was no vehicle available, this company is out of touch, taking reservation with no available vehicles, dont waste your time, person at the front desk was not helpful, and answered I dont know and Im not sure to every questions I asked, would have probably received a better service if they would have placed robotics instead
Got the run around for 2 days due to no cars yet somehow the employees still acted like I was an inconvenience instead of a paying customer. Immediately after receiving the keys saw them do the exact same thing to another customer right behind me. Avoid this place like Covid, I sure will be.

Ubered here to pick up my rental. The manager told me they dont have any cars and was extremely rude. I rent cars all the time and have not ever had someone so rude to me. Plus I am now out the 20 for the uber there another 20 for an uber out and now stuck with out a car that I reserved.
Had a reservation and the guy who picked up sounded like he was on drugs or sleeping and said they were totally out of cars then hung up.

If I could give this place less stars I would. Two horrible experiences with this location this year. Yesterday the insurance company made a reservation for me so I can get a car rental at this location. I called to confirm my reservation, car availability and pick up time. All were confirmed. The next day I get a hunch to call while on my way to drop off my car for repairs and then pick up the rental, first attempt a lady answers, doesnt say hello she is yelling at someone then hangs up. I call back and inform her Ill be there soon. She tells me that there are no cars available and several people are there waiting for cars to show up. Eventually says she will call me if cars show up. Meanwhile Im dropping my car off and its almost closing time for car rental places. Several calls with the insurance company and the local enterprise and they saved the day. Two horrible experiences and no apology or effort and I will never use that hertz again.
Was able to reserve a vehicle online, even received a confirmation of my reservation. When I arrived to the location the man proceeded to scold me on why I should call before coming to the office to confirm they have vehicles. He then advised me that he doesn’t have any vehicles and the. Again told me I should have called.Extremely rude, would never even consider using Hertz as a result of this person. If I could give zero stars that would be more appropriate.
I have had nothing but great service at this location. I love the staff. I have been renting cars from this locations for years. My car is always ready and exactly what I expect. Thank you Vacaville Hertz.
Fairfield Hertz was unable to rent me anything, due to nothing in stock. Vacaville Hertz took care of me no problem. All 3 employees I dealt with were professional and friendly. I would recommend this location.

U have to have a major credit card in order to rent! I was stuck out of state and they refused to help work anything out with me since I have no major credit card! Worthless, not to mention they were VERY VERY RUDE
Had reservation no cars available,3 cars in shop told me to come back tomorrow with attitude. Expressed my concern about getting to work. Said it was other customers fault that I didn’t have a car. More attitude lousy customer service. It’s my fault now I guess for hoping they could do their jobs.

My assigned cars fuel tank was almost empty at pickup. Filled it up and returned it almost full (7/8). Clerk said that Hertz has no way of giving me credit for over $40 in gas! Unbelievable!
UNDER STAFFED. This location does wonderful work but only after waiting in a far too long line or on hold for an hour. Management must hire more staff!
Customer service is awful. We returned 6 cars within 24 hours rental period but Hertz still charged us late return fee. Called local office for explanations. No response. Avoid Hertz Vacaville Nut Tree location at all cost. There are better rental companies in the area.

Sadly a lady at the counter called Gloria, makes the experience of renting a car there very unpleasant. She asked for international driver’s license as a requirement to get the car, which absolutely false, and eventhough we needed the car urgently, she made sure to slow the process as much as possible.
Vacaville Hertz car rental is horrible, on July 3rd I went to get the 7+ suv I rented over a week in advanced. Even called days before to make sure it would be a 7+ passenger suv. Got there they only had 5 passenger suv, waited over 2 hours for the right vechile. 2nd time on July 24 went to pick up a van I rented a week in advanced, again when I got there no van was ready, then one was return, I took it dirty and on empty because I needed to pick up people from airport. 3rd time just yesterday on August 16, I rented on suv, when I got there one person was in the office she was helping a customer, I waited for her to finish, go out a get the customer his vehicle which took 10 minutes, she came back in I was at the counter, the phone rang she answered it, didnt put it on hold, continue talking on the phone, I was there waiting so rude. Then finally she got to me, then told me they had no SUV, only small cars. I left, gave them 3 opportunities, failed on all.
My insurance company placed a reservation for me at the beginning on the week. I called the day the reservation was made and the service over the phone was unnecessarily rude. The same guy kept answering the phone each time I called to ask questions, and always with the same attitude. The day I needed my reservation I called to confirm q pick up and they had no vehicles ready for me. Upon picking up my vehicle, the lady was professional but not any nicer than the guy on the phone. Over all, Id rather pay a little more and be treated like a person whose business means something to the company Im giving my money to.
This place has new employees there who provide the worst customer service! Does not even try to help with the situation. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!
After reading all the single star reviews, I had to see for myself how bad this place can be. Well the single star reviews were right! Its pretty bad! Terrible customer service! Someone from the Hertz corporation should pay this place a visit and retrain them or fire them all and start a new!

Called and got a reservation the day before we came in. When we got there we were told no reservation was made. Our intelligence was insulted and we were asked if we were positive that we didn’t call another car rental service instead. This was asked multiple times even though we already answered that we were sure the reservation was made here. We found the phone number in our phone proving a 3 minute conversation for the reservation at this location and were still treated with a little bit of doubt. Only one person, Gloria, is working behind the counter and it took almost an hour to get our rental taken care of. We would have given 1 star but fortunately we weren’t charged a “walk-in” fee when we know for sure we called to make a reservation that they must have failed to put into the system correctly. Not our fault. Gloria was able to fix things for us, and after a few technical difficulties like the printer not working she got us good to go. Thanks to you, Gloria, a potential 1 star review turned into 3 stars.
My experience was the worst I have ever had at any car rental company in my life. When I arrived at the vacaville location my rental was given away and I was offered a smaller car. They said that I could pick up the same car in the next city over so i went there. When I got to Fairfield they also gave away my vehicle. Finally I was able to get another vehicle. When I returned my vehicle I was charged an extra $10 Inter city fee when I returned it at the exact same location. The representative had the nerve to ask me if I was sure I returned it at the correct place.The vehicle was also dirty when I received it and smelt like cigarettes. I will never rent from Hertz. I WAS a gold member but I was sad to see that didnt mean anything in your companies eyes. i WILL never recommend this company to even my worse of enemies.Ive had so many better experiences at enterprise on orange drive around the corner.
Very friendly and accommodating
I was stuck with these guys because of my car insurance, do your self a favor never ever use. First the car smell old socks and cigarettes, second the car a keyless ignition and the remote had a dead battery. The remote worked on and off for a few days and when I called to get a new battery they told me to go to Fairfield 12 plus miles away for a new one. I ended up using the battery from my remote which they kept and did not reimburse me for. Talking to them was like talking to a clueless child, you are better off walking.

Took over a week to get a reservation for a car from them and had to make 3 calls without ever receiving a call back. It was an insurance reservation so Im sure theyre not motivated to help. But it is extremely inconvenient to have so little help in such an unpleasant time.
They said it would come at 9 oclock in the morning. Then I showed up and got a different story. It was going to be an 1 hour and a half.They said it was going to be $122 then I was charged an additional $50 fee dir being under 25.Actions speak louder than words.But they have room for improvement.
Awful experience. First Im given a junky car with bird poop all over it and a clunky transmission. I was told I could get basic insurance for it for 15$ per day so I said okay. I go to return the car and now the cost is apparently 25$ per day for this type of car, which of course I was never told. Why would I care what the price is for insurance on a car I didnt rent? So of course the employee didnt help me, she just said contact that specific employee who told me that price, which will lead to nothing. Thanks for lying to me!
Horrible service. i made a reservation and they gave my car away and left me with a more expensive car and then actually tried to tell me i was getting a deal on a bigger car, which i didnt want or need. unacceptable customer service. avoid this place at all costs.
This rental place is so unreliable! Their customer service is horrible and they have no remorse even when the mistake is theirs. This is my second time using this company (first time was through my insurance, second time I didnt know my husband booked through them because I wouldnt have). They dont have what youve requested and prepared paid for ready when you get here. The first time I got a car that didnt even fit all my children and had to rush over to their Fairfield site in order to get one before they closed. They wouldnt have an employee from Fairfield drive it to Vacaville or admit that they were wrong in the size car they gave me matter of fact they tried to justify it and tell me to basically transport my 4 children illegally! They dont disclose all information and they run a credit check on your credit card before they give you the car. I dont remember any other rental places doing that (unless I just didnt know). Im stuck here unable to get a car because they didnt disclose to me that they would require a $216 HOLDING DEPOSIT on a super small compact and theyre are telling me that I would have to call a 1800 number in order to even get my money back!!! I need a car now, not when the ppl at 1800 who knows decides to refund my account. I have AAA full coverage that covers ANY vehicle I drive so there was no need to pay such a high deposit especially when the deposit is 2 times as much as I paid to rent the car!!!
This place is not good. Small not many cars and the one I got smells like cigarettes so what the heck don’t they check there own cars on returns? I don’t even want to give one star but what the heck. Going to try another city and see what happens this place was lame.
My gripe is with Hertz in general, not specifically this location, although this is where I rented.My problem with Hertz is their PlatePass program, which charges outrageous fees to enable drivers to pass through electronic toll lanes. These fees are hidden in the fine print of your rental agreement; no one tells you about them up front or offers you to opt out; you are automatically enrolled. Basically, if you pass through an electronic toll gate even just once during a multi-day rental, Hertz will charge you $4.95 in fees for EACH day of your rental, including any and all days before and after during which you *didnt* pass through any toll lanes whatsoever. And thats on top of the actual toll.I crossed the Golden Gate Bridge once, using the electronic toll lane as there didnt appear to be a manual lane. (If there was one, I missed it.) A few weeks later, much to my surprise, a charge of $27.05 from PlatePass appeared on my credit card. This included $4.95 in daily fees for EACH day of my four-day rental. So, to cross the Golden Gate Bridge once, which normally costs $7.25 in regular toll, ended up costing me more than 27 bucks. I have attempted to challenge this with Hertz Customer Service, but so far Ive had no luck.Im not the only one who has had this problem. In fact, Hertz and PlatePass previously settled a consumer lawsuit related to this practice, but they continue to charge the fees. (Evidently they just made it more specific in their rental agreement.) The New York City comptroller has also criticized Hertz and other rental car companies for the outrageous fees they charge through these programs. And several news outlets have written about this practice. (As an aside, PlatePass is a division of American Traffic Solutions, whose red-light camera programs have also been the subject of much criticism and scrutiny. ATS is heavily backed by Goldman Sachs.)Perhaps I wont be able to avoid PlatePass by switching to another car rental company, but nonetheless -- I wont be renting from Hertz again, until these practices are changed. I dont mind paying my actual tolls plus a reasonable fee, but $27 to pay a $7.25 toll is pretty far beyond reasonable.
Customer service representative here was rude and sloppily dressed. Had a reservation for a car but when we get there says that they dont have that car class and we would have to pay for the upgrade to one of the top tier vehicles that he had on the lot.
I booked reservations a week in advance and when I showed up to get my rental car they said they didn’t have any more cars.
Wish I could give ZERO stars for this Hertz location...one issue upon multiple problems...called phone rang 30 times or more n/a called back finally they answer employee admits shes all by herself - not her fault personally, however, very poor way to run a big business...AND this is who my insurance Co. set me up with for a rental...ghetto fabulous!
