The recruiters in this office really set the standards high when it comes to professionalism, being efficient, and simply building a connection with them (rather than just a cut and dry kind of experience). SSgt. Garwood and SSgt. Oliver are two of the best recruiters I have had the pleasure of working with. I worked with them as an Airmen after technical training in the Recruiter’s Assistance Program and it was such a great experience. Being able to have the privilege to give back to trainees and applicants who are just starting their journey by answering any question big or small they have, it is such a rewarding experience. When I enlisted into the Air Force, I did not get recruited through the Union office, but I am so glad that I got to experience the more positive side of recruiting. The whole recruiting process was smooth and easy. Everything is pretty straight forward and the recruiters are honest and helpful . Never felt pressured or rushed throughout the process. Ssgt Ronnie Oliver was my recruiter and was professional, honest, helpful and always kept me in the loop!

Let me start off by saying I am 22 years old w/ a degree in business and was working in my respective field pre-COVID. I was always curious about joining the military for the lifestyle and benefits and honestly thought it would be pretty fun and was originally going to enlist into the Army, until I started weighing all my options (I felt like I was only hearing about all the good and none of the bad). So I called this place up and got in touch with SSGT. GARWOOD, I really appreciated Garwood’s insight, how professional and knowledgeable he was. I was going in expecting to be persuaded to do things I didn’t like, only told the pros and never the cons and just buttered up so I’d feel confident to go through with signing on a dotted line. But Garwood kept it brutally honest and never once tried to lead me the wrong way and was very kind and supportive of any qualm or concerns you may have (believe me I was looking for any red-flags or any shark moments). He did not seem to be starving for clients and was not scared of losing a few fish along the way (because he knew what he brought to the table) and was the “if your serious, then I’m serious” type of person and he had your back. He made the entire process from initial introduction to MEP’s to signing my contract an absolute breeze. He is a very meticulous person and presents information in an easy-to-digest manner. For anyone looking for a beast of a recruiter try reaching out to Garwood, overall experience was an 11/10! He’s also the recruiter your parents would love (for all the young adults fresh out of high school). Seriously if your in the area and are looking for a Air Force recruiter go to Garwood! Whether or not you decide the Air Force is for you, you won’t regret stopping by and hearing him out.

Went to this recruiting office about a year ago and met Sgt Carter who helped me become part of the worlds greatest Air Force. Im so glad I walked into their office. Ive been coming to this office since I was a junior in high school and i have never met such a group of dedicated personable people. I had a bit of struggle joining because of my weight but they didn’t turn me away because of it. Instead, they helped me and as I was in the process they would check up on me and ask me how it was going. A year later as a senior they started up the process again and I bounced from recruiter to recruiter but I have to say they were all great ! Sgt. Buchanan was my first one and definitely influenced my decision on staying in. Sgt. Rivas was an awesome person inside and out ! & Sgt. Carter was my final recruiter who saw me out after 2 years of being there. I now came back for RAP duty and they were all welcoming including all the new recruiters. After 7 long months of training they still remembered me and asked about my family. It says a lot about the branch i joined and how they care for their people. They all prepared me mentally and physically for the best decision of my life and I couldn’t be any more thankful than I am.

I got recruited out of here. All the recruiters here are professionals and really help you out by preparing you as much as possible for basic training and beyond. I came back to RAP for my recruiter- 12 free days of leave. I had Staff Sergeant Chavarriga but SSgt Oliver is also a really great guy. Ms Byrd is the best! They really care about me getting to spend time with my family. The work isn’t hard and I get to go home and enjoy my time at home. If you’re trying to join I suggest coming here. I am not sure if this is a busy office, but it is hard to get into contact with someone. The only time I spoke to someone was when I walked in on a whim. If you really want or need to get in, be persistent. The same day I walked in I took the practice ASVAB and did pretty well (in the 90s). I assumed that would make me coveted, but its been silent. You need to apply pressure on your recruiter. I plan to show up repeatedly until I become priority #1. I suggest you do the same.

At first all seemed great, I received a packet via email that I had to fill out and send back to eventually set up an interview. After doing this however the recruiter didnt respond till like a week or two later (after numerous calls and texts). They explained they were getting around to it and that they have many other applicants(very understandable). This went on for two months until they completely stopped responding. Its been about 4 months now and still nothing. I get it youre busy. But dont tell me youre working on it then proceed to go dark. Im glad it didnt work out though because this place wouldve treated me like just another number anyway. I know its a hike but go to the Flatbush Ave Brooklyn one and talk to TSgt Allen. He got me the AFSC I wanted within 2 months.

Everyone that works there is very nice and very helpful.

I hated the place. The recruiter was wearing a wife beater and basketball shorts. The marines deserves more respect.
