Took my puppy here at 4:30 pm for a medical emergency. This hospital closes at 6 pm but they didn’t wanna take my puppy in because the doctors wanted to leave early. Incredibly upset at how unresponsive this facility is. Worst facility I’ve seen by far. Wouldn’t recommend this so called “hospital” to any family by any stretch of the imagination.

My cat came out of her checkup happy and fairly relaxed considering being in a crate is stressful for her.The doctor and nurses were nothing but sweet. Everything was very efficient, and the doctor didnt try and pressure us into anything, which felt fantastic!Overall a very great experience and Ill be taking all my pets here from now on! I can always trust theyll be in good hands here :)

I cant say enough great things about the Mendocino Animal Hospital. I was camping in Ft.Bragg (over 500 miles away from our regular vet) and my dog got sick enough that I wanted him checked out by a Vet. After walking into all of the clinics in Ft.Bragg and being turned away, I started calling out of town. I was getting more and more desperate to find someplace to take him. I finally found that Mendocino Animal Hospital has an urgent care. They were able to see him as fast as I could drive over the mountain. We came into the office to find an extremely friendly and helpful staff.Being that this is an animal hospital all the tests, xrays and fun stuff was taken care of on site in less the 2 hours. Now here is were the staff endeared themselves to me. I had to drive back to Ft.Bragg because my kids were still at the campground with a friend. I had absolutely no reception, so the staff called a list of people I gave them until they were able to reach me. After he returned to his puppy self, they boarded him for the rest of my trip. Thank you to the wonderful staff for helping my family.

I had a wonderful experience with our first well visit for Velma, who we just adopted. Velma loved Dr. Ambrosia and her wonderful assistant Chaylynn. Velma is a rescue and still has trust issues with people, yet they were able to get her to warm up to them easily. I trust dogs opinions of people, so if Velma liked them, I like them.They worked efficiently, addressed all my concerns, and in general made themselves very available for us.Thank you Dr. Ambrosia, and thank you Chaylynn. I heartily support Mendo Animal Hospital!

Mendocino Animal Hospital is really an excellent full service animal hospital. We have used this business 8 times in the last 4 years for various dog blunders. They ALWAYS take our pups in and repair whatever dog bite or laceration from crashing over a fence. They make me feel calm and I know that my pup will be treated with excellent care. On a very sad event, when we had to Euthanize our 13 year old Golden, Patty Cakes, the nurse and Dr sat in a huddle with me during the entire event. We all cried a River for her to send her on her next journey. I am thankful they are here in our community. I can highly recommend this establishment for all your vetrinary needs. 5 ⭐️!!

Our dog Bear went here from the time we picked him up from the pound 11 years ago till we had to put him down in February 2017. He was well cared for and all the staff at Mendocino Animal Hospital were great to work with. Bear, a Shepard/Malamute mix went from a young adult to an old man and every step of the way he got fantastic care. He got much better care than a person gets at Ukiah Valley Medical Center. Seriously, given the option I would rather be taken to MAH than UVMC.

Excellent, friendly, easy-going and patient staff. I connected with them after a miscommunication about getting an appointment at their traveling clinic, and they were nice enough to book me at their vet office. I run an animal rescue and need reliable vet care.

My Border Collie ALWAYS enjoys the friendly staff and considers it a pleasure to see everyone. Sadly, I am relocating to another state and am leaving MAH. Always enjoyed going to see any of the staff and always had 5 Stars for all the doctors and associates that we have seen!

If I could give this establishment more stars I would, I recently had to have my beloved dog Geronimo put down....and they were all so caring and compassionate, they explained everything that they were going to do in the procedure, they allowed me to spend time with him before doing it, they were so very, very caring and made what had to be done as easy as possible...I will absolutely take my other animals there if the need arrives with NO hesitation at all .Thank you to all the staff for making such a painful experience a little easier to handle, and thank you for the card you sent to me and the tree that will be planted in his name through the arbor foundation.Again I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone who is seeking competent services and compassionate care for their animals.Diana Langton11/29/2018

Only went once, so experience with this review is limited. I had an emergency cat euthanasia needed. I accidentally called another state Vet clinic because I was not smart enough to double check who I was calling through Google voice & set an appointment up for Texas instead of Cali. Needless to say I drove to the vet thinking I had an appointment & they were closed. I got a hold of this Vet clinic just as closing and they stayed open after hours 40minutes & beyond to provide the service & allow me to be with her during her last peaceful moments. I was very emotional upon arrival & they were extremely supportive & kind. I got a wonderful personal greeting card from them promptly after. Im sure the costs compare to most everywhere but the service was exceptionally loving. Thankyou! Rest in Peace Princess.

They are awsome. My dog had an accident they did not make a big deal. I offered to get it up they assured me it happened all the time.

We just recently adopted a puppy. Today she got her last round of vaccinations at Mendocino Animal Hospital, and the veterinarian was so nice and answered all the questions we had. They also gave us information concerning puppy socialization and obedience classes, which we plan on looking into.

Awesome people work here. Especially Dalleen. Everyone totally loves animals at this place. I think the ownership deserves a lot of commendation.

What nice people they are! I took my kitten, Big Boy, in to be neutered and get his rabies shot. As Im walking in my cat decided to poop in the carrier! I was immediately embarrassed and I almost went back home. They told me not to worry and that they would take care of it. They cleaned him up and the carrier too with smiles and a great attitude. I couldnt be happier. The surgery went fine.All is well now. I would recommend Mendocino Animal Hospital to anyone who loves their pet and wants only the best loving care!

Go here. Your dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens (yes, one of the vets has had a house chicken also and took amazing care of my show chickens) and any other non-homo sapien family members will thank you for it. We have had the best quality, and most reasonably priced, vet service at Mendocino Animal Hospital. All of the Vets, Nurses, Assistants and Clerical staff have been wonderful. They are kind, compassionate and just really nice two-leggers. Even in the most difficult of pet related situations they honestly inform what your options and treatment costs are up front. If they treated people I may switch health care providers ... Seriously, state of the art cold laser therapy for treating inflammation?! Mendocino Animal Hospital is amazing!

Our first visit was outstanding. The staff was extremely competent and very attentive. Our appointment was on time and exactly as advertised. There were no surprise charges, or late appointment, and the vet was professional and caring. Our search for a great veteranarian office in Ukiah is over.

Took my dog to the hospital because he was limping and I believe was hit by a car or had vehicle trauma they charged me 600 dollars for x-rays and medics and they said nothing was broken even after we told the vet are you sure why is the leg bend are you sure it’s not broken like 3-4 times she said no it’s just trauma it will heal by itself a month later it’s still bent and i got back they say it’s been to long that the leg is broken and that all I could do is amputate it or put a sock on him leg after they charged me 600 dollars for x-rays and said nothing was broken. His name is oso terrible vet she was a female vet don’t remember her name don’t take you’re pet here.

I called at 10am with an ER situation. I was told by Brittany the receptionist that she would call me back to Lmk if the Vet could see my dog. 2 hours go by and I finally call them back at noon only to be told that I had apparently called them from Santa Rosa to tell them I was at a vet there awaiting care credit information. I told Brittany she must be mistaken, I had been in Willits the entire time awaiting a call back for my dog to be seen. She said no that I was mistaken and then became very rude. She told me the ER appointments were now all full and that she would talk with the Vet and call me back and that Ill most likely have to go to Santa Rosa, 2 hours away. I asked are you sure? Because you never called me back last time and I waited 2 hours. She never called me back. I had a feeling she wouldnt and had started driving south. I ended up going to the Redwood Clinic in Santa Rosa, by recommendation; They were amazing. If you want a vet that cares about pets instead of the almighty dollar Redwood Clinic is the jam. No price gauging or unnecessary testing. I cant imagine what hell awaits at a vet with a receptionist like Brittany, but I will never recommend anyone to Mendo Hospital in an ER situation, as hey, they might leave you waiting the 2 hours you could be driving to Rosa with your sick animal, and then gaslight you and never call you back.The 2 stars is for them helping a friend of mine and her dog years ago in an ER situation, which was my reason for feeling safe with seeking care from this vet in the first place. Never again now that they have a Brittany, who should probably try her hand at retail instead of putting the lives of animals at risk.

Recently I took my special needs German Shepherd, Belvedere to Mendocino Animal Hospital have his ears looked at by Dr Rice. They were so nice there and gave us a private room so my dog wouldnt be so freaked out. Turns out he had a foxtail. They removed it, flushed his ears and he was his old happy self again! Many thanks to Dr. Rice and her kind staff.

I was a bit hesitant to go after my friend Gina Grossi wasnt working there anymore because I knew after getting squinted with her there we could always go with the assurance that our pets would be treated as if they were their own. But recently returned when our Josie fell Ill and they met and exceeded our expectations. Then upon her passings had a tree planted in her memory. When we re dived the card we cried tears of joy. Need I say more?

These guys are amazing! My poor dog, who is way beyond overly sensitive, got a foxtail the size of a house key in her ear Friday night. I took her in first thing in the morning on Saturday. They were extremely busy, most of the time with a line 3-4 animals deep. Walking in the door, everyone was genuinely happy and friendly, even the waiting patients. I told then at the counter i was pretty sure my dog had a foxtail. I also told them Im 7 months pregnant, my low paying job also had cut my hours and I had $60 to my name that wasnt going to gas or animal feed. The vet techs were so kind and gracious. They said no problem, we have a few options. First they tried to get me a financial loan card account. In the meantime they kept going to the back to talk to the vet about getting my dog in so I wouldnt have to call in to work. When the loan didnt go through, they tried a few other optiins, but said worse comes to worse they would at the very least examine my dog and see what was going on. If they saw a foxtail and could get it without sedation, I would only pay the exam fee. Otherwise it could run to $500.When we went to the room, they said they would put some ear drops in to numb the area and see if they could do anything. I told them I would be surprised if she let them. I was right. She yelped bloody murder for about 30-45 seconds before the tech came in and said they finally got the drops in. They said they found me funding and if I could pay a very small portion they had someone to cover the rest. I couldnt believe it! Ive never even heard of that! I started crying and thanking like a mad pregnant woman. They said they would keep her until my man could come get her so I wouldnt miss work. While checking out, another woman (who has awesome hair btw) gave me an employment tip that sounds amazing and after the baby comes I will be looking into.While I was there, there was a very nice lady waiting for a prescription . It was taking awhile, but instead of giving her the oh well, too bad run around, they made sure to fill her prescription and get her on her way.They went above and beyond while being so gracious, caring and kind. Never going anywhere else ever again.

Michael one of the ladies who are Front office, was SO RUDE AND INSULTING I found a different vet, my dog had an emergency and they could not get her in for a week and a half, then insulted me about my finances and unbeknown to me canceled my apt for a week and a half later. She argued about being the one who talked to me earlier than said oh ya. No thanks! HORRIBLE. I spent 80$ elsewhere thanks

We moved care for our cats from a different local facility (a place with lots of vet turnover; turns out they are actually run by a national chain...). Had one excellent well cat visit with an established vet at Mendocino Animal Hospital. Shortly after we got a new cat from the county shelter and he was clearly unwell. A newer vet at the practice, Dr. Gillum, saw us. Over the past two months our new cat has had health issues. She has been with us every step of the way (Im a longtime RN and quite opinionated...) as we problem-solve what test to try or not try, what med or food to try or not try. The support staff has been very good on communication and support as well. Last week it seemed we might be on the verge of losing him but with the support of Dr. Gillum and all the staff there we got him back on track. At this point, however things turn out for him, I know their caring professionalism is something I can rely on.

I called Mendocino Animal Hospital late in the afternoon and they got me in first thing the next morning.My little Jack Russel, Buddy (Bud-Rick Taco the First), tore his dew claw so bad I was unable to cut it let alone touch it.We were welcomed warmly by the Vet assistants and Buddy took to them right away.I left him there for the day, he had to be medicated to fix his toe. I was worried about him for some time.The hospital called as soon as he was fixed and reassured me that all had gone well.Whew! What a load off my mind.Should I ever need a vet that I can trust I will take the rest of my animals to see the wonderful people at Mendocino Animal Hospital as well as tell everyone I know about this place.

Smiles After Acupuncture!I’m sure everyone has had that special angel dog in their lives. Well that’s my dear 5 year old Rottweiler Hannah! Only 4 and one half years old and she was diagnosed with cancer, lymphosarcoma.I started her on chemotherapy and prednisone as soon as her biopsy sutures healed. Two treatments into a sixteen week regimen she became dull and listless at night. Her energy level was very low- definitely not normal. Her romps with her canine pack-mate were all but gone.Then I started her on acupuncture treatments every 2 weeks at Mendocino Animal Hospital with Dr. Katie Sommers. Her very first acupuncture treatment had her sleeping through the night! Hooray!! Dr. Sommers treats her about every 2 weeks. And now I’m happy to report her energy level is back to normal. She’s outside chasing, smiling and running in her rural Redwood Valley home.Thanks to acupuncture and Dr. Sommers I have my angel dog back to a happy, smiley, nosey, very busy Rotty-girl.
