I adopted my cat Deja from them. The fosters profile was the best description of her. I drove from Houston to adopt her. Everything went very smoothly and I can tell you enough how happy I am with my fur baby. I have had her for about 6 months.
Very helpful with questions about feral cats. Although they can do anything about 5jem at this time, at least they pointed me into the right direction, a website that I can register on for fostering.
Helpful folks. Hard to choose. They ARE strict on those Wishing to adopt, but I appreciate that.
3 years ago, I fostered 10 dogs from an over crowded situation which was urgent I stepped in. There was no choice but to take the pups first and then contact the SPCA. After they were able to put them with other foster homes, I went back to get the girls. Wanted to get them before they got pregnant again. Unfortunately one was. She gave birth to 12 pups because of all the food she was finally getting. I talked another foundation into taking her because of her giving birth real soon and the kennel they were in was just dirt. She & the pups deserved better. The other girls were taken care of so wonderfully by the ladies as I was bringing them in for shots & treatments, plus surgery. I ran across a video of me playing with them before they left and my heart melted. There was two that had my heart they were so special to me. So glad we kept one and I pray the other one is in a wonderful home. The ladies at the SPCA were so wonderful to all these babies and if I lived closer, I would certainly be a volunteer to help them out. They do need it. But, they need foster homes more. I had to close my kennel due to a health issue or it would still be open for them. This is one of the girls we adopted. Her name is Ellie and she loves her daddy (my husband). She used to go with him on his hot shot runs. When not, she would hear his truck before me & would start dancing around and talking to me. I would let her out the door & she would fly off the porch to run to him. Never went down the steps. She flew. When he was killed back in Nov. ‘19, she has really been sad. I see how she acts and how clingy she has become to me. I see & feel her pain. They were extremely close.
The drop of and pick up took 45 mins each not a good system at all but dog was good so i overlook that
We got great service. Everyone was nice and the kittens we adopted were healty.
If I can give no stars I would, but wanted to be able to comment. I have filled out multiple applications. And have made numerous calls as well as sent emails/VMs. Because of Covid they want you to schedule a appointment. Which is fine, but nobody ever returns the calls emails etc. And then I dont know if its just me or what but the cat or dog that youre fill out the application for its like as soon as you fill out the next day on the website the cat or dog is gone. I asked someone else about it and they said they have experienced the same thing. So not just me... I do better with just going to go buy a pet full price and then they wanna talk about pet land on there website but they wont even be respectful enough to reach back out or give you a chance to adopt smh. From my experience is I dont recommend the SPCA but hey good luck to anyone else who is trying and big ups to the people who had success with the adoption and getting a response.
I always say Adopt Dont Shop and the SPCA is who I always recommend if you are looking to add a furry friend to your home. I adopted my dog from them many years ago and he has been my best friend for all those years. The organization is ran by wonderful people and are always willing to help or answer questions that you may have. I have fostered a couple dogs for them over the years and they are a great group to foster for as well. I would love to be able to foster more, but just not able to at this time.Go check out their place on Saturdays or consider volunteering if you want!
I love the SPCA, the really care for the dogs and offer a much better service than a regular vet. And the cost cant be better
I adopted a kitten one day recently from SPCA. We went in about an hour before they closed and they were still willing to work with us. We left with a little boy. They were great about getting us set up to do the neutering since he wasnt old enough for it. If I ever get another pet, Ill start with the SPCA. Theyre great people who really care for the animals. You just have to go on a Saturday to see them since theyre fostered.
Clean facility with caring volunteers. I foster animals and the coordinators do a good job vetting fosters and trying to find forever home for the animals. Please visit adoption day on Saturdays or the website for available cats and dogs. See two of my many fosters below that found homes. *Update, I had a foster fail and adopted a sweet cat that thinks hes a dog. He plays fetch, comes from me ringing his Tile on his harness, and lays down and rolls over on command. See him on Instagram @imjackfenix. Fostering is a great way to find a perfect pet. Jack chose me when I went in for a new foster. Now hes my buddy furever and were inseparable.
These pet lovers do everything they can to place animals that need a loving home.
I absolutely will be doing business here from now on !!! Not only was it clean and kept, but the staff cared, they truly cared for the animals and I greatly appreciate that !!! Thank you guys and gals yall are awesome !!! Keep up the Great work !!! Xoxo
I came here because I know that the cats here are well taken care of but I have to say this was the worst experience Ive ever had! The adoption manager Karen knows nothing about cats she said that it was not a good match because the 5m old cats where scared of course they are. They are brought in to a strang place and then given shots and then introduce to new people. Im sad to say I will never come back or refer any one here. I can say this would have been a great experience if they had different management.
I was really looking forward to adopting a dog but the application and requirements were a little lengthy so I just decided to buy one somewhere else.
Clean facility and caring attendents.
This place truly is amazing. They do so much for all the animals in east texas. They even offer the community wonderful prices to get their babies shots and meds. I havent met a rude person here! We adopted our Bankys boy from them and we are fostering Rose! Looking forward to working more with them!
So a rescue was trying to help us. They contacted SPCA of East Texas for us. We had 6 puppues 5 suffered from epileptic seizures. Becky from SPCA came to my house took pictures and said they would help. And take them. She said give her a few weeks. The pups were gonna be shipped up north. We messaged Becky yesterday 8-18- 2020.. She said they where in abround table meeting about the puppies and shed get back with us. This morning out dor was nearly knocked down by 3 animal control officers. Being lead by Officer Fowler. Becky said to release the dogs to them and they would bring them the dogs... So I released my dogs that I have been caring for ...for over a year giving them meds staying up with them when they have a seizure. I sent a fb message asking if they where ok on the ride and how are they doing. I was then told the pups have been euthanized.SPCA ARE MURDERS AND LIARS.
Love our Puppy
Friendly people who love animals and work hard to care for them and find them forever homes. No kill shelter. Go online to do surrender requests
My boyfriend and I adopted an adorable kitten yesterday morning. The adoption process was easy and smooth thanks to the people that work in SPCA. They are doing an amazing job. If youre thinking about adding a new member to your family, SPCA is the place. They really care about the well-being of the animals. Thank you!!
Awesome facility. Very clean and the staff was professional and helpful
They are super nice and very helpful with us adopting our 2 kittens! So glad we picked them to get our kittens from.
Love what these folks are doing! Saving, fostering, preventing more of these type issue. If you can help, contact them!
It’s a wonderful adoption center! They care for their pets and support them. Peppermint Patty is now five years old and was adopted there. She is doing great! I recommend this place. :3
Animals are well taken care of here. The price for adopting an animal is a bit steep in my opinion. I adopted my rescue cat from another shelter for half the price and got all the same care for my pet (shots, chip, spayed/neutered, etc). Otherwise a very good shelter.
The animals were all adorable but the people completely stuck up and snooty so that turned me away very quickly. Adopt from a shelter other than here. Car lady especially very rude.
Very helpful
Weve gotten 3 of 4 of our pets here and have been nothing short of impressed with the process and the care the SPCA has for their animals. I recommend this place to everyone and they really go above and beyond!
Suck an amazing place! If u looking for a new poppy or cat please adopt here is so nice and easy process! People here are so nice and friendly.
Such a good cause they are
Very sweet people working and volunteering there.
They do not communicate with the client before denile. I do not talk well on email useually, and there was no communications verbally. The dog was going to be trained as a servise dog and well loved by me. Email should not be the final TALK.
Tje animals of course were wonderful. The lady with tge cats was really rude and we will never go back there to adopt.
I have been volunteering here for the past 2-3 months and over that time period I have really gotten to understand the purpose of this center and why people should be more aware about adopting a pet. Many of the animals here in the center are fostered by local volunteers and have been treated/spayed. However, many of this animal are still looking for a home. The staff is very helpful and will guide you to bring you closer to your future furry friend.
My husband and I take our son to play with the cats and dogs every saturday. The staff is welcoming and they make sure everyone is taken care of. Weve also adopted 1 cat and 1 puppy from this location without any issues
If youre looking to surrender a pet, it must NOT be pit bull!!
I have to admit . Its really nice to get my dog taken care of for a great price Bc this place isnt money hungry and actually do whats right for the animal. My vet was going to charge me 599 for my dog to get spayed !I got my dog spayed here for 65$ and her shots. And more . In the end I spent 113$& was very very pleased with the women who work there !I called a million times worried about my Lola, & they didnt get mad 1 time. Cathy.. with a C.. is absolutely amazing. You guys are forever in my debit . I will continue to bring my dog here for work and any future shots.Thank you ....
We had a wonderful experience! I should have taken my pets here a long time ago! My vet is intimidating and charges way too much for the same service I received at Health Paws Pet Service Clinic. Being open on Saturday is awesome too for those of us who work M-F. I will definitely make a donation to this nonprofit organization AND I just might decide to volunteer!!!!
There are very nice people here, and many adoptable dogs and cats.
Was very polite on answering questions I asked about the animals that they had.
Great Sunday afternoon. And you might actually go home with more money than you showed up with!
I have so much respect for this organization and all they do. They are great people and will provide excellent care for your pet or even a new furry friend for you to adopt!
Love this place we are looking to adopt a puppy. Very helpful employees, very good about taking care of the dog!
Wonderful staff and great program to adopt your new forever furry best friend. I love my Susie and highly recommend SPAC
Wonderful place clean and caring. I was donating leashes and dog beds.
Did a wonderful job on neutering my dog. Ill be going to them again in the future!
The volunteers are the best in town!
I had a puppy and a kitten neutered here and it was a very good experience for all. They made sure i had instructions and understood it all. The only part that i didnt like was i have heartworm and flea meds for all my animals and they will not let you get those meds from 800 pet meds etc. You have to go there to get the meds. It is a trip for me. I like to get my meds online. I really appreciated the cost of the care. They pulled a tooth and fixed a hernia! Great!!!
The people here have a heart of gold! They truly want to help match the animals with good homes. They do so much for the animals ... above and beyond. The adoption fee is totally worth it.
We have adopted two dogs from the SPCA in East Texas. They are beloved members of our family now and we are glad we worked with the SPCA.
They love these animals. It is a very organized group of people and I am proud to know there are caring people like these ready to help.
Love them! Caring, kind, loving people doing great work
Great people, the animals are cared for and very clean.
Love animals
We save,we love so you can adopt!
Love the staff an the process was easy :) we love our Charley boy!!
Super clean, awesome staff! Very helpful and informative
Beautiful place if you get chance go and ADOPT an animal.
The best place to find your furry family members.
Place to get a good pet that needs a forever home.
They love all animals
Awful, we weighted a long time to try to adopt a puppy. We were denied because they did not ask for our other dogs shot record at the office and I even had the records in my vehicale. We were also denied because we just moved here and we did not have a veterinarian which we do just not in Tyler. He even had heart worming thats not due till he is a year old. Once you send in the application with out the records of your current dog even though your current dog is up to date with everything. There is no chance of adopting threw them ever agin. They try to give the dogs good homes, but very difficult. They will not let you bring in the shoot records to show proof of all the shots and procedures done to redeem yourself not even veterinarians info. We thought we would be helping a dog to have a good home. Whats done is done with them we are not able to adopt threw them ever after one misshap. I thought this was a good organization, but it makes you wonder if they are really trying to find homes for them. We are good people and treat our dog as family. Just like my kids he gets his shoots and the love. So if you do adopt threw them be warned they do need copy of shoot records even though they dont ask for them. I dont want anyone to go threw what we went threw. We are very good pet owners and our dog is happy. We are still hoping to add to our family, but not threw them. We will keep looking to find a dog that would want to be a part of our family like the one that chose us at the SPCA. We feel in love with him and it broke all of our hearts that we were denied over shoot records and a veterinarian that is not in Tyler. Oh, my dog does have a veterinarian appointment in 2 weeks that was referred to by his old veterinarian. The new veterinarian did not have anything good to say about the SPCA either so that threw up some red flags for me as well. Wish you the best.
A wonderful place to adopt, donate, foster and volunteer!
Worst experience ever!!!!!!!About to adopt and donate to find out on FB that your dog is placed with another family .Never came out to our house to see this is dog heaven......after filling out tons of paperwork ..pathetic! Please donate to Therapet !!!!!!!
We are respectable, retired citizens or Tyler TXSuccessfully raised several dogs and cats including adopted one in 2014.The wife has a degree in medical/biology/botanic which includes certain knowledge about animals. She also has a 6 years degree as an engineer and a PHD title in Math( European country)We were treated badly by Tyler SPSA OLD BULLARD Road, Tyler. We tried to adopt one older dog to love and as a companion for our other dog. They did not reveal a correct info about that dog and we were not able to keep it because of it.We started looking again . Kind of liked one but he was too young and hyper so we decided not adopt it. The Forster mother of that hyper dog turned to be from VAN TX where my husband was raised. They both were exited to share memories. She invited us to visit if we were in the area. A month later we were in the area and decided to stop by with an attempt to donate hay to her neighbor horses. She still had that hyper dog and invited us into her yard to see how great the dog jumps and catches the boll. We left thinking we found a good fried.Next Saturday we tried to look at SPSA dogs again and rudely were thrown out because by visiting that new friend in VAN we did not follow some kind of protocol NOBODY ever explained to us. We did not have any attempt to adopt that persons dog and just visited to say HELLO and donate hay.We were terribly offended by not professional and rude people at that SPSA. One of their dogs lost a chance to be adopted to a perfect, caring and knowledgeable familyBill & Elena Palmer, Tyler Tx
Great people, we love our new cat Bela.
Wonderful people
Everyone was very friendly and happy to help.
The people there truly care about what’s best for the animal. It isn’t a pound, all the dogs are fostered by voulenteers at their homes.
They care about pets 👍🤗 ‼

Great job guys!!!
I felt invisible when speaking to them
Never been there
I need to surrender a stray and was told to take him to their other building, the adoption building, well they are not open except on Saturdays. I couldnt keep the dog until then. The lady I spoke to here did not tell me this either I had to find out myself. Very disappointed in the fact this town has no real animal shelters.
Very caring people
They took a stray cat that weFound walking along HighwayThat we couldn’t keep
Never been there. Trying to look at pictures. Pushed wrong button. Oops
Theyre sign out front says they rescue, but they do not. They only hand out information.
