Absolutely horrible experience. I tried to get internet service installed in my new build for over two weeks. I was assured someone from the local office would contact me, and it never happened. That combined with the horrible encounter I experienced today with the customer service rep just has me disgusted with this company.
Before I continue, I think it’s important to clarify that I am not a customer, and my poor experience stems from my attempt to become a customer.I’m really disappointed in the service, unfortunately. I waited a whole month to have an installation team come by and tell me they can’t service my home because of the park I’m in. I understand that the install guy had no control over that situation, and I don’t fault the install team at all, but SparkLight — as a whole — should have a better understanding of who they can and can’t serve. We would have had internet already. After sharing this with my family, we found out the same exact thing happened to my sister only a couple months previous.
Set Up installation a month ago. Paid. Had a tech lie about calling phone number and leaving a voicemail. Waited all day for the tech and now they are saying they can’t come till October 8th. Very disappointed I’m this I don’t even have the internet and it’s going this way.
I am a customer in Buhl ID, the service guys only come out here once a week and the install team only come out here once a week. I am paying for Gig speed and only getting 1-200Mbps. Ive had 4 phone calls with the technical support guys that have emails out to the service team...no one is responding!I am going to walk in to the local store for direct service but if they dont get it fixed ASAP, This may be my last week with sparklight as this is possibly the worst service I have ever had.
Their internet is the best, but their current office hours make it nearly impossible to switch out equipment for those of us who work during the day. 9am to 1pm, 4 days a week meant I went 2 weeks with a broken modem before I could take time to switch it.
The absolute worst! I have been on hold for over an hour. And this is my 3rd attempt to get my internet back up. I have work that has to get completed tonight and finally had to ask my neighbor to borrower their password for their reliable service.
THE TWIN FALLS OFFICE HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR OVER A YEAR NOW AND WE REALLY MISS THE TEAM THERE. MARY, MICHELLE, AND ERMA ARE SECOND TO NONE AT CUSTOMER SERVICE. WHEN WE CALLED YESTERDAY TO DO OUR SEASONAL DISCONNECT, WE WERE THRILLED WHEN MARY ANSWERED THE PHONE. AS USUAL, SHE DID A STELLAR JOB!PLEASE COMMEND EACH ONE OF THEM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING JOB THEY DO ON A DAILY BASIS.BY THE WAY, WHEN WE SEE THEM AGAIN, WE WILL BE ASKING THEM IF YOU PRAISED THEM.THANK YOU,ED AND MARGIE CURREN
This is awesome too fast better than cloud network and qwest.
Love the fact that you can put a hold on service. This is one of the features of why I chose them.
Hooked me up. Installer did a great job.
It is more than expected. No interruptions on streaming or wife playing her games like we had with Hughes Net. Sparklight is well worth it!
Twin Falls is a GREAT town, but with limited companies for public access to internet. Our family is pleased that Sparklight starting covering our town. Internet & Phone is working without any glitches now! THANKS!!!
Had our internet hooked up and the tech was on time, very polite, and informative.
The best customer service Ive had. Good prices and service is great.
Tried paying bill by internet, told me to pay by phone. Tried paying by phone, told me to go to local office. Local office is only open while Im at work.Pretty poor way of doing business.
Internet goes out at least once every day, usually for over an hour. Poor service, and even poorer customer service. No one to answer the phones or trouble shoot the problem. LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
Always had service and no complaints from us. We would like to have the credit on the account refunded to our payment method on file.
Bad internet service always going in and out, but still paying for full service. We have had issues for a long time but it just seems to be getting worse. I think it is time for a new company any suggestions?
Had covid in our family. Had NEVER had a late payment. This company didnt care at all. Shut us off. Tried to charge us an additional almost 200.00. Paid an entire month ahead and now the equipment keeps freezing up. Soooo frustrating.
This was an easy experience and our service is great. We will see how the billing goes,
Things have really gone downhill since the Cable One acquisition. Customer service is not just bad with Sparklight, its non-existent. I understand that internet outages happen, but how they are addressed is what really matters.Today I called to report an outage that was affecting my business. After going though the automated telephone tree, I was disconnected after waiting 15 minutes on hold. I called back and was immediately disconnected by the automated system. On my third call I waited 75 minutes to report the outage. Yes 75 minutes. Thats a significant portion of someones day! Nobody ever did pick up, but finally the internet came back.I deal with training employees for customer service for my profession and respond to Google reviews. I would actually feel guilty about taking a paycheck if my customer service was anywhere near as bad as Sparklights. Theyre going to put a response at the bottom of this review wanting to know more about my experience, but the truth is that they dont care. At least their service cant get any worse since it has absolutely hit rock bottom.
Works great thank you
Adam in twin falls location. Came to my house around 5:15pm to help fix my WiFi issue. We had some scheduling issues. He saved the day and got me WiFi for my little boy. Thanks again Adam. Just going above and beyond from a employee. Is what kept me with your WiFi company. Adam needs a pay raise.
Not only do they give terrible internet connection with boastful claims of fiber optic 5G 300mb/s, it rarely reaches this point. Let alone stabilizes at it. Call in for support? Dont worry, theyll direct you to a sponsored internet speed test. Go ahead and try ookla instead, youll get a different speed. Happened twice. Dont spend your money with this snake of a company. Dont forget the faulty tech they send you! Wonder why your button for quick connect doesnt work on the modem-router? Theyve intentionally disabled, nice. Lease out broken tech, such a lovely thing to do. Seriously, look at other competitors instead of sparklight.
The installer was very knowledgeable, quick and efficient.
We had prior service with Sparklight and found them to be reliable and cost competitive. When we moved it was an easy decision to use Sparklight again. We were not disappointed and we are very pleased with the service we are receiving.
We had the technician come out to do a internet activation. After the technician was here they said our house was not serviceable. They said they would check to see if they could potentially run cable from a different location. I was told they would get back with me in about 5 days. After a week and a half I called them back and there was no record of them coming to check to see if they could run cable. All I was told was they would have to come back out and check again. After waiting another week for a technician to come out, I was told that there was no way they could do anything and that I would have to go with someone else. I understand them not being able to run cable, but when I have to wait 2 and a half weeks to get a confirmation that I cant have their service, its definitely upsetting.
Never recieve notices for billing
I have received non-stop service interruptions since cableone switched to sparklight. I am NOT paying for my internet to disconnect 10+ times every day. Virtually any other company would be more reliable now.
The cable installer just ran the cable over the ground where it is exposed to weather and the cover is pinching the cable. I didnt think it was very professional.
Wayne, the installer was amazing and really went above and beyond to make sure our internet and WiFi were set up just as we wanted! Please make sure Wayne knows how appreciated he is.
Wow What a difference. I have been living with spoty internet for over a year. It was so bad that I couldnt watch a movie on Netflix. And now for 5 dollars more a month I have excellent service. I couldnt be happier.
Terrible service. For 3 1/2 months Sparklight couldnt find our house to connect service even though we were living in our house. Claimed there was no cable laid on our road even though there was cable laid months before we moved in. Speed one-third of what we are paying for. Slow uploads and slow downloads. Customer Service has been underwhelming
The worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I returned 24 cable boxes to them in April and they have been charging me $2400 ($100 per box) + another $1100 for cable service I didnt even receive for months. There is no way to contact this branch and theyve been closed since April. Ive called support many times, wasting tens of hours of my life being put on hold. After them not replying to my emails, they send my bill to collections. After calling once again, they say that 8 of the boxes were returned while the other 16 were not working or missing. Something which is NOT TRUE as I had cable in all 24 rooms of my hotel working. They are not even open, instead they have people put there routers up on a shelf in the middle of the parking lot. This company has treated me so unfairly and caused so much stress in my life, and this is how they treat someone who is still paying over $380 a month for phone and internet. I cant imagine how they would treat an individual customer. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS until they figure out how to be honest and not try to cheat and steal money from their customers.
Formerly cable one, as per the name indicates, we had been a customer since 2012 cancelled in January of 2020. I will tell you why we decided to do so and perhaps you may have better luck. Where as cable one would make you go up to the next level of cost and data usage if you went over your allotment 3 times, Sparklight is superior because they will instead charge you 10$ for 100gb which I think is a better deal, but really as soon as sparklight took over our data usage went sky high. See with cable one our monthly allowance was 300 gb and sparklight moved us to a 500gb one which on our last month was as high as 700. We started really watch our usage and it seemed what little we did use was just enormous amounts like 50 gb a day. We became so confused and ultimately cancel our business with them due to this. No one else had our pass word and everything that used internet was unplugged. We cant explain what was happening. Perhaps your luck will be better.
I signed up at the beginning of Oct.(2020) and have nothing but good things to say. The technician was on time, professional and quick. Service(connection)has been great.
Very easy setup. The provided modem does not function well with frequent disconnections and slowdowns even with just 1 device running in the same room. Recommend buying your own from best buy or something
Just moved to Twin Falls, ID from San Diego, COMMIEfornia... when I set up service I gave them the MAC address of the modem I had and they said it would work, I was skeptical as that was never the case with COX even though they said it would... well I plugged in, waited 3 minutes and we had internet! On top of that we received our first bill and there was NO surprise charges, it was exactly as they said it would be... so yeah, so far so AWESOME SAUCE!!!! And the speeds are AMAZING!Thank you Sparklight for being Honest and Truthful!
Ive been going with Cableone/ Sparklight for years for internet mostly because I know what to expect. Well now expect to not get what youre paying for. They advertise all the high speeds, but wont offer an upgrade to IPv6 so youre stuck running at 150 to 200 mb/s download with a 25 to 100 ms ping even if youre paying double for the full 1GB/s. Stay at 200 or youre just getting milked for cash. Theyve never offered to do anything about the subpar speeds.
Great customer service!
I have used there customer service multiple times now and it has been nothing but some of the best I have ever received. Their employees actually seem happy unlike a lot of other customer service centers. I took the time to look up some of the former employee reviews and most of them were 4 and 5 star ratings and the ones below the 4 star seemed to be issues with certain supervisors (and who knows if they actually ever complained to upper management about those specific supervisors and they stuff they were doing). The calls I did were short, sweet, and to the point, with excellent results. 5 of 5 Awesome Job
The employees are magnificent. The internet is really fast and reliable. The cable, on the other hand, sucks. HD stations that dont come in correct, lack of programming at a reasonable price and the remote/receiver leave a lot to be desired. Overall, not bad, but not great.
Seemed to run low on data at the most inconvenient time. But I guess I need to look more closely to my account
On 11/28/20 my wife and I set up an appointment for 12/03/20 to have our internet set up in our apartment and was told that it would be no problem. The day of our appointment the tech came to the house and my wife opened the door he seemed shocked that my wife and I were living in our apartment already. He told my wife that he couldn’t come in and set up our internet because we already were moved in, which I understand and with Covid how it could be an issue. With that being said the lady we talked to on 11/28/20 didn’t say anything about that even after my wife and I had told her we had been living in our apartment. The tech didn’t even offer to walk us through anything since we had our own stuff. If you guys aren’t going to be willing to go the extra miles and have the techs walk your customers through how to set up everything so your techs can do the final steps to hook up the internet then you guys shouldn’t be open or making appointments.
Really friendly people, the service has been awesome and the price is great for the speeds
I tried to return my modem. The place was closed. The hours are not practical. And makes it hard to return modem. Tuesdays and Thursday from 9 to 12 is the only time they are open. Thats it. Sure, you can mail the modem. They just make it really hard. I am not happy about that.
I had them when they were cable one. They were the worst service I have ever had! Went through the change to sparklight and they got worse. Internet goes out ALL the time! Speeds are not even close to what they advertise. My elderly parents got them as well and they purchased the modem from them and they still charge them a modem rental fee $10 monthly going back over 2 years now. Like I said worst internet I have had!
I give a three star rating because they provide an adequate service with an internet data cap. Data caps are scam to generate extra revenue.
Offices not open on weekends, the time that they are open on weekdays is only during times when most people would be working and unable to actually get any kind of useful help. Trying to transfer service on a weekend while moving has been FAR MORE DIFFICULT THAN IT SHOULD BE! They should be able to simply hit a button from one of their reps on the phone, but NOPE, gotta wait until some specific person who apparently only comes in on their time. TERRIBLE customer service (if it can even be called service).
This used to be a 5 star company. Now, weve been calling in and being promised a call back that never happens for THREE WEEKS. We broke our router and bought a replacement and called in to report it and find out our next steps. We were told we could toss the router because we had paid rental on it so long that it was paid off. Now we are being told that they are charging us a $100 equipment fee for a paid off router, all the while still charging us the rental cost every month. We will definitely be shopping around for different internet service at the rate of their piss poor customer service and empty promises of returning our call. Oh yeah and you cant walk in and make them deal with you in person because theyre the only business in twin falls county thats still using COVID-19 as a reason to not have any operating business hours.
Ever since they swapped to spark light this company is a joke. Good luck trying to get ahold of these people. You call and get thrown on hold for a half an hour then get transferred for another half hour. Customer service is horrendous
Installer was friendly and professional. He knew what he was doing and did the job in a a small amount of time.
The best Internet service
I have the most expensive package available, we stream TV and kids play a few games. The Internet is constantly buffering while streaming and we reset the modem 5-10 a day. Weve had techs come out multiple times to no avail.
Nathan was patient as I had a conflict and couldn’t give him my full attention
I DO NOT recommend these guys for your internet service. They are never available when you need them. The signal is so inconsistent. As a customer I am very disappointed. And don’t bother asking them to make it right, they don’t care to try and do any of that.
Customer service has been exceptional. As a former Comcast customer in a different area I have been pleasantly surprised. Internet service is fast and reliable. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for service.
Ive had this service for 1 week, and Ive been finding myself without internet more than when I wasnt a sparklight customer. Super frustrating. Not mention the technician was so rude, and Im paying extra for a modem that still has the dust and fingerprints of the last owners. Super gross.
Does not meet expectations. We were told they have an unlimited plan option so we paid for that and got a warning of how much we have used. Called and asked what was going on cause we have an unlimited plan and the rep told us they do not offer an unlimited plan. The rep was supposed to pull the phone conversation and get back to us....haven’t heard anything! They just keep adding onto our plan for 10 bucks a pop.
We cannot get any service for the last 7 days no internet at all customer service is a joke
Thanks to Spark light, they won’t come into our home to provide internet so, I can continue with my work. They have to follow CDC guide lines but the tech that showed up did not have a mask on when talking with me. So I’m confused on why they can’t come inside the home but talk to the customer without a mask. 🤷 . Hope my job keeps me!
I called because the cable box didnt have a power cord. The technician just left the power cord and left. Didnt knock on the door. I plugged it in and found that technician had knocked on the door I would have tv now. I found out that the smart card was no good. Bit the technician left without making sure it was working.
Dose what it needs to but kinda sucks with streaming live feeds
So far we are not impressed with the service we have received! We were going to receive internet today, I had received a call when I first placed the order that it was going to be today between 3-5 pm. I also received an email stating the very same thing. So I made sure I was off work to be here. 2 hours later I called customer service to see what was happening and they told me it was cancelled due to a missed confirmation call today. The only call I had was a restricted call that I didnt answer since every restricted call I have had had been junk. Severely unimpressed right now.
My problem was easily solved by Crystal who made my experience positive.
Literally the worst internet Ive ever had. The modem will randomly restart and the networks will say they have no internet without any warning. This morning, I tried for an hour to connect to the internet and it still didnt work. When the issue first came around, we called Sparklight about it and they said they couldnt do anything.
3 months ago we registered with Cable one, paid the $84.00. The gentleman came out and said the old line has been broken and new one will need to be laid in the ground. He put in for a quick lay of the cable line. We have heard nothing from cable one since then. We have called at least 5 times and every time they say, we need to call the Twin Falls Office directly. We cannot get through to them, it does not matter what time of day we call, it goes directly to the main call center. The call center continues to send messages to the Twin Falls Office as well as the head manager of cable one asking for them to please make contact with us. We still have heard nothing. I just got off the phone and again, the same response, we just send a message to the Twin Falls office. Very disappointed in their customer service to say the least.
Dont have it, but after seeing the reviews and prices, is it worth it? It seems to be my only choice
Cable One was easy to contact and the technician was right on time to install. He did a good job.Im not sure why I cant use my own modem instead of renting for $10 per month. That adds up.However, they are the only option in my neighborhood so I am glad it works well.
We’ve had cable one for about a month now and I love it!!! The guy who came and installed our equipment was super nice and knowledgeable and very respectful of our things. The internet is extremely fast and affordable versus what we had before which was century link. Thanks Cable one!
Theres a problem in my area with the connection. I havent been able to use my internet. I had a technician out here today and still isnt working. Not sure what the problem is but I was told its a connection problem in this immediate area. The technicians have been great though and are quick to respond which I really appreciate.
Internet outage in your area. There is currently no estimated time to repair. Its pretty poor quality of service when they actually have that recording on their robot answering machine. If this was the first time Id heard it, ok. But it is a pretty consistent issue. Since Sparklight took over, their quality has gone from bad to worse. Weve already gotten satellite TV because of the over pricing, but now it looks like its time to look for a new internet provider. These internet outages are getting costly.
Service is not as good as when I had Truleap technologies.
Update: After leaving review, Cable One reached out and fixed the situation. Internet has been running smoothly for several months now.,Original Review - 1 star: We have been trying to get set up for months now. Keep getting told someone will contact us. Still no internet and no real response from Cable One. But they had no problem taking our money.
So far I like the lack of lag in overall performance on the internet. I also use their TV service and have a good number of decent programs to watch. I tend to prefer cable to satellite so this is working for me.
Cable One is a great service. I have only lost service once in 11 years and the internet is great too. My only issue with them is the price..... TOO MUCH. But, I do choose to pay it when I consider the alternatives.
Limited choices in our area... But you want services you use whats available. Way to expensive for what they provide. But consistent poor service is better than nothing.
Local service was exceptional! The installer out paced the billing dept. Nick did a great job and had me up and running way ahead of the schedule I was told to expect!
My cable line is still not buried from April. Ive called twice and was told by an employee yesterday that Id be lucky to have it buried before Fall since they are do backlogged from the winter installs. 😠
Have no complaints so far, living in Wendell with cable one as my internet provider. Super fast, and super cheap.
1 star just for being good service ..bs they hook u in at 45 a month..for 3 months then it doubles...
Cable One is a huge joke. Data Caps because they have to when no one else does data caps. Hugely overpriced service that works like crap. The speed they guarantee is between 2m and 100 m? that is super helpful. NOT. I only use it because there is no other option for me, so lucky you cable one.
I’m giving a low rating today because I had an issue with my bill. Last month, I made a payment at my local office. I had gone into the office to turn my internet back on and pay what was owed. I was excited to start a new package because it was cheaper! I was told that my bill would be automatically taken from my account every 15th of the month, which was fine by me. I was also told that my next bill would be $80+$10 for the modem rental. Much cheaper than what I was originally paying. Got my bill a few days ago and it’s doubled the amount I had agreed to!! Called customer service. The lady was super nice, but she then described why my bill was so high. Apparently, I am paying for a deposit and being billed an extra half a month in internet service. I had no acknowledgement of this whatsoever when I made my last payment. I was not told any of this information which is terribly upsetting! My rating may change as time goes on, if I decide to stick with this company, but for now, it’s staying at one star!
I did the self install and after a few bumps that were solved by tech support it is working great.
The technician arrived on time, and was prompt in the installation of the internet services. Everyone has been helpful and kind when we have needed anything (like when I plugged a cable into the wrong port.) Our internet has been fast and reliable several weeks into starting! Very happy with everything.
Ive had pretty good service - Internet Only. Its fast enough to do anything I need. They just doubled their speed, but they do have caps - watch out!
Had a scheduled appointment for install... The tech evidently showed up just long enough to put a tag on the door. NO knock, NO doorbell!!! I have 2 dogs that alert to everything... they didnt alert all morning... The couch we have morning coffee on, is literally 10ft from front door... Shabby service!!!!! No wonder you have such low ratings.Follow up; I cancelled the install
The speeds not to bad best in the area price isnt to bad either just that the person who set up our service didnt check the lines or change anything and we had a internet outage for over a week when we first got it last month Ill update my review once things get better in the next few months
Awful customer service, lack of communication, very expensive, and honestly their internet was worse then what we had living out in the country. Some nights Netflix would buffer every 5 minutes and we had every other device in our house turned off. We live in twin falls, so I don’t know what the problem was?
Really good if you want inconsistency. Lots of days where our wifi doesnt work, thank God were paying 100 a month for 50% wifi.
They have people working for them that try to swindle you out of doing side jobs for cash.
Was able to use my own modem i brought from comcast.
My internet is so unbelievably fast. My experience has been exceptional after having Century Link. The data plans and prices are tough but it’s worth it.
I am a new customer. I have not encountered any problems with cable internet, not yet. I am happy to report the speed is faster than my previous provider. Pictures are clear. In addition I appreciated the 2nd Cable technician who went beyond in assisting me in setting up all the technology issues..He made sure that everything worked for me before he left, unlike the first one who despite being an excellent worker had poor customer service skills.
Unreliable installation scheduling and communication. The technician failed to show up during the scheduled installation time and failed to give me notice. I called Sparklight in the middle of my scheduled time to check if they were coming and they refused to come during the scheduled time or at a later time in the day because they had already decided to skip my house and had scheduled someone else during my scheduled time.
Cable rates are constantly going up. Customer service is very poor. Waited for 3 hours, they knocked at our door and we didnt hear them. Left a sorry we missed you tag on the door and we had to call and set up another appointment and wait for them a second time. I transferred to Sling, which is also a live provider, I get the same channels as CableOne and they are just as clear. I pay 1/3 of the price.
Customer service was good but boxes hums and cable a little pricey
Cable drops off at least one, sometimes 8 times a day. This means I have to wait for the device or devises to reconnect, or manually disconnect and then reconnect againFor the monthly amount I am paying, this should not happen.
I am happy with the reliability of the service. I am giving this three stars because I find the channel selection missing a few channels, like the MLB Channel - thought that came with every cable company! I have even purchased the Digital Value Pack and still dont get MLB! The NFL Redzone is available, but as an ad on. Some random channels like MeTV and CoziTV are also not available. Another reason for the three stars is paying for data. I have only had internet service that had unlimited data, so this is new to me. The last reason, no On Demand content at all - this is another feature I thought came standard with cable TV.
We canceled our services 5 years ago, and now that we are moving back into their provided area they are saying we owe them for a modem that we dropped off at their locoal office. Won’t do anything about it till we pay for something they lost, so off to another provider we go.
